Declaration of War on Britannia (OPEN, MT)

What seemed like an eternity had passed since the first Grecht-Britannian War, a war which had seen the nation of Grecht-Albertsstein declare war on Reformed Britannia in the hopes of vanquishing its imperialist ambition. The Albertssteiners suffered a terrible defeat, and their homeland was put under occupation by the allies of the Britannians. An uprising followed, which proved to be far bloodier than the original war; millions, perhaps tens of millions of civilians and soldiers lay dead at the end of that conflict. But the Albertssteiners viewed it as an overwhelming victory-largely due to the propaganda distributed during and after the Uprising.

But it had left them with a thirst for revenge on the Britannians, the power which had seen to their original defeat-and which now held many more nations under the yoke of imperialism. The Britannians would pay for what they did-but this war was to be planned, not blinded by idealism.

Grand Duke Miroslav envisioned cutting off Britannia from its colonies; the most lucrative of which were Gathustria and Astholm, and the most isolated of which was the Colte Islands. Those three colonies would bear the brunt of the first Albertssteiner assault-and three separate strike fleets had already been created to take those territories from the Britannians.

They had already been dispatched when the declaration of war was issued.

Declaration of War

The Grand Duchy of Grecht-Albertsstein hereby declares that a state of WAR now exists between our glorious Motherland and the Imperial Federation of Reformed Britannia, as well as its 'dominions'. For too long we have watched the Britannians enslave other peoples and bring them under the whip of tyranny, but now, we shall be the great liberators of those who toil away in the factories and mines of King Robert.

Our victory shall be swift and decisive! The last days of the Britannian Empire are at hand!

President Venson was sitting in his office. He was going through his world news thread. Suddenly, and urgent update came up. Grecht-Albertsstein declares war on Reformed Britannia. Kaberman had read deeply into the first war. After the violence of the peace conference, he had decided who the enemy was. He called his general, Sammuel Kaberman, and told him to prepare the 3 150 000 Air troops and 3 150 000 ground troops to Reformed Britannia, to aid the Britannians.

Official Communique of the Imperial Republic

Greetings to nations either involved or simply watching the situation.

We have known of sour relationships between Grecht-Albertsstein and Reformed Britannia. We have even been involved in wars against Grecht-Albertsstein in Reformed Britannia's name. As a result, our relationships with the nation of Grecht-Albertsstein is cold to say the least. Grecht-Albertsstein can give all the reasons in the world as to why Reformed Britannia is a tyrannically ruled slave-state but yet they cannot back their statements up with anything more than repeating their original statement. It's childish and foolish, just like it was so many years ago.

If the Imperial Republic looks back on its records, it shows that Reformed Britannia has not acted violently or aggressively for a considerable amount of time. It has been shown repeatedly, both verbally and in contracts that all current dominions of the Britannian domain have chosen to be dominions under their own free will -- often because of votes from said nation's population. Further looking back upon our history books, it shows that the nation of Grecht-Albertsstein had lost the previous war yet their people are foolishly led to believe otherwise.

While we understand that any nation can and will go to war for reasons that are beyond our logic, we feel this is just some grudge from Grecht-Albertsstein's leaders. As a result, we officially declare an embargo with the following conditions:

1) Any and all civilian vessels registered in Grecht-Albertsstein or fly Albertsstein colors, be they under auxiliary or sail classification, that enter the Imperial Republic of Cyrupe's known territorial waters can and will be impounded by the Cyrupean customs office without any warning given. Compensation for crew and passengers of the vessel(s) shall not be paid, and the crew will be held in the port's detention center(s) until an agreement can be made with Grecht-Albertsstein. Vessels belonging to said crew will be stripped completely to be searched and then sold to the public in auction. The purchaser of said vessel will not have any obligation to return it to the vessel's original owner NOR the government of Grecht-Albertsstein.

This clause currently applies to any and all vessels registered in Grecht-Albertsstein that are currently in the Imperial Republic of Cyrupe's waters, with the exception that those currently docked in the Imperial Republic's waters will be given a twenty-four (24) hour notice to vacate the territory.

2) All civil aviation registered with the government of Grecht-Albertsstein, who enter the airspace of the Imperial Republic of Cyrupe will be impounded by the Republic Aviation Association services. No compensation will be paid for the aircraft, and passengers and crew will be held in the airport's detention center until an agreement can be made with the government of Grecht-Albertsstein. Aircraft will, like sea vessels, be stripped searched and sold to any legal resident of the Imperial Republic. Said resident or company who acquires the aircraft has no obligation to return it to it's original owners NOR the government of Grecht-Albertsstein.

3) All commercial shipping flying under the Grecht-Albertsstein flag or known variations thereof or hold a registration number held in Grecht-Albertsstein will be confiscated by Cyrupean warships by force. Goods aboard the vessels will be sold or distributed and crew will be detained in the nearest Cyrupean-owned port's detention center. Vessels that do not comply will be sunk or boarded with force. Additionally, military vessels and aircraft will be destroyed immediately regardless of their intentions, although survivors will be captured and treated henceforth as Prisoners of War.

We would like to inform the government of Grecht-Albertsstein that we respect and obey the Geneva Convention's guidelines regarding civilians and prisoners of war, and we expect the same in return. We regret to take such extreme measures, but we must ensure that the government of Grecht-Albertsstein learns their place, especially when it comes to silly declarations of war that are obviously drunken jokes by their leaders.

Henceforth, we are in a state of non-aggressive war against the nation of Grecht-Albertsstein due to our mutual defense and protection pact with Reformed Britannia. We will not hesitate to react with violence should Grecht-Albertsstein attack any and all allies of Reformed Britannia. We highly advise the government of Grecht-Albertsstein to reconsider their actions as they will mean that the history books of tomorrow will show two wars that Grecht-Albertsstein has lost against Reformed Britannia, her dominions, her partners and her military alliances.

Should Grecht-Albertsstein continue their unwarranted aggression, we assure the nation of Grecht-Albertsstein that their victories will not be swift, and that their last days, not the nation of Reformed Britannia's are at hand.
