Somehow, Doge Genino has died in his sleep at 65, this day has become even darker. This great democracy has experienced 200,000 deaths, but we have kept our democracy. A coup has happened with the Inspector-General attempting to become a Emperor, by military means. The only poeple that have risen up against the Inspector-General are the Ministers (now known as a faction named the Ministry), and the Supreme Commander. The local Cairulandic militias are assisting Heichzen, and the Grand Assembly is split with the Senate assisting the Ministry by putting their name into the budget, and the House of Representatives is assisting Heichzen, but merely by status. The military of Cairuland is split, with the naval forces siding with Heichzen, and the Federal Army and the Elite 66 siding with the Supreme Commander (the Air Service has been able to maintain neutrality). The first dispute between the Ministry and Heichzen's People's Army (the name of the Federal Navy and the local militias) was the Battle of Genonino, with the Ministry-occupied capital city falling to the People's Army, a horrible blow to the Ministry, with 200,000 troops lost from the Federal Army. The Supreme Commander was horribly embarassed, and she withdrew her forces from the Ministry, and surrendered to Heichzen. The Senate, with nothing else to do, made a strategic maneuver, making a bill to be signed by Heichzen, declaring that he was Emperor, eligible for 2 12-year terms, and that he must participate in a fair election in 12 years, as must all Emperors, and that the Supreme Commander was now just an advisory role. Heichzen signed this today, and gave these words at his inauguration today:
"Yes, I understand these past few weeks have been a little bloody, but they have been worth it, for I have brought forth a new golden age, reducing the power of the role of the Supreme Commander, where the people command the militia, by directly electing an Emperor, who will be the new Supreme Commander of the Grand Armed Forces of the Republic, now Empire. This nation shall now be known as the Imperial Federal Republic of Cairuland, unofficially. Thank you."
The Emperor requests international assistance and feedback from the recent coup, seeing that the assault of Genonino was damaging to the capital. He also wishes to note that the Grand Armed Forces of the Empire are all united, with the Imperial Army, Imperial Navy, Elite Order of the 66, and the Imperial Air Service together under their parent organization.
