(Described by a local, translated to english)
Saturday Morning, 2:56 am "Typhoon Demelle came from the southern Hawaii, and we were escorted from our homes and villages and towns to the underground shelter. They (Officers) took us back out of the shelter to higher ground because there was a big shake (Earthquake) and we saw water flow past our small safety (Hill) that we were on. Then (Mountain) Ka'ituq Split in half and inside was a boiling fire, rising. We witnessed the ocean and the rock fire fighting in a mess of steam. By sunrise, half of the Island was either flooded or covered by ash and hot rock. The island had lost much that day. Now about 1/4 our people are homeless."
Please consider donating at most 10 (Dollars, etc.) to Santofer Islet. every cent will go to rebuilding the island.
