Syvorji wrote:After his coronation and prayers, he said, "And before I conclude this great holy service, I shall be the General of the Armed Forces, to help make this nation prosper! Long live Father Saparmurat Niyazov!" He then bowed and went down the steps, to head home and after arrival, he invited 5 generals from Elizabeth and surrounding area to visit his house, to prove that they should listen to him and his orders.
Only two generals who were invited, along with more then 6,000 troops, arrived, with the other three remaining loyal to the Empress and refusing. Anyways, the two generals and their 6,000 men pledged their loyalty to Niyazov. Meanwhile, three government ministers, Lady Lichestein, Minister of Defense, Lady Wallenstein, Minister of Health, and Lord Richston, Minister of Local Government, learned of the events in Elizabeth. All three had served loyally under Empress Elizabeth I, and all three personally hated Catherine. Empress Catherine distrusted them, but kept them because they were efficent government servants. The three ministers decided now was their time, and they secretly contacted Niyazov, pleding to provide him inside information on government affairs, as well information on the military, if he made them his top-ranking advisors below Talbot.
