Imperial Coronation (OVER, CLOSED)

"Lord Halifax, when shall we arrive at the site of the coronation?" Pondered Catherine, while also turning to thank Alice.

Halifax said "Very soon." He was correct. The limousine was nearing the Imperial Palace, where they would stay until the coronation was ready.

[Kioyoto]

"What a beautiful city..." Catherine murmurmed, while looking out the window.... it seemed a place where family's could happily settle down and live the rest of their lives.

Finally, the limousine had reached the Imperial Palace. They drove up alongside the beautiful 18th-century palace. Lord Halifax opened his door and stepped out, saying "We are here, Your Excellencies."

"Thank you, Lord Halifax," Catherine said, while stepping out of the limousine.

Lord Halifax nodded. The elderly man again adjusted his glasses. He waited for the Kylarnatians to get out of the car.

They stepped out of the car, and continued to marvel at the palace. They then waited for Lord Halifax to take them into the castle.

Halifax told Empress Alice, Tsar Yuri, and President Catherine "Follow me into this palace. If you are wondering, it's been here since the 18th century. Built in 1776 by King Frederick II the Great of Brussia. That's a century before Royal Calathonia was formed, in 1871." Halifax anyways went into the palace, expecting the others to follow.

Catherine was in awe of the beautiful palace... In the Kioyoton culture, the people had fairly small houses, and a simple life. She herself only owned an apartment.

Meanwhile, planning for the coronation progressed, which was only two days (roleplay days, not real-life) away. All the proper etiquette had been practiced over and over by the Empress and the officials, and Saint Helenas Cathedral, where the Emperors/Empresses of Royal Calathonia were crowned, was prepared. Invitations to the leaders of the constitutent states of the Empire were sent out.

Catherine began to feel more comftorable with Empress Alice and Lord Halifax during the afternoon. President Catherine was here to talk with Empress Catherine II on a possible alliance...

"Wonderful." Empress Alice remarked as her and Tsar Yuri with Baby Kain walked towards the palace. They followed him inside.

The Kylarnatian Royal Family settled into their room, where Empress Alice layed Tsaraviech Kain in a cot, as he was getting tiered.
"This is a wonderful room, don't you think?" Tsar Yuri asked his wife.
"It is indeed." Empress Alice answered. "That President Catherine is also a very nice women, gives good handshakes."

President Catherine blushed slightly when she heard what Empress Alice said...
"Don't you think sometimes that being a nation's leader is rather triring?" Catherine said to Alice.

Anyhow, the day of 11 September 2012 (it's 2012 in my nation) passed by quickly. The final preparations were made, and Lord Halifax informed the President of Kioyoto and the Kylarnatian Royal Family of the formal procedures. The coronation of Royal Calathonian monarchs were similar to those of the Russian and British monarchs. The date of the coronation was set for 12 September.

President Catherine blushed slightly when she heard what Empress Alice said...
"Don't you think sometimes that being a nation's leader is rather triring?" Catherine said to Alice.

Empress Alice stepped outside her room to speak with Catherine, as Tsar Yuri was also wanting to get some rest.
"Yes. My husband runs most things in the country, but I do work on the side of Foreign Diplomacy when I can, and that is tiering enough."

Over Royal Calathonia

Ambassador Adam Price had just arrived over Royal Calathonian airspace after a long flight. He had been informed less than 12 hours ago that the leader of their ally, Empress Catharine II, was due to be crowned the next day. The new administration, dealing with terrorist attacks and threats from other nations, had only just sent him the news of this, and so he had rushed out of his office, and less than 30 minutes later, he had been in the air, reading over the latest reports.

The pilot, running on coffee and the peanuts the stewardesses served, was only a few miles away from the airport. He sent out a transmission to the airport traffic controller.

"This is Erjunhuf Flight 3087, requesting permission to land."

"I have not a husband. For me, it's a challenge even to run my country during peace time. But with a war.... so much,"

OOC: I will invite no more nations to attend the coronation. The ceremony itself will begin soon.

"Yes, although I want to make it clear that women can hold the president's seat, without breaking down," Catherine replied.
