(OOC: Please, excuse the irony of this post. I will first state that there is far too much OOC conversation in this thread. Second, I announce my intentions to declare war on the aggressors, particularly HRC, due to unprovoked assault of another nation. Honestly, it seems more like an attempt at righteous imperialism, than an attempt to procure rights for oppressed persons. Also, I am perplexed that the war proceeded at such a pace. It would be impossible to occupy a region this large in such a short time logistically and militarily. In another thread, the nations spent twenty or more pages fighting over miniscule portions of modern Israel, and still accomplished little (one side was drastically outnumbered). I must also deplore the short length of the posts (though I do criticize this mildly, due to various styles apparent in different people). After all, I thought this was about enjoying oneself and creating a truely beautiful text. This does not seem to be a particularly pleasing thread, though I will commend those who have written quality posts. That said, if the war or an insurgency continues, I will join.)

Missourian Rebels wrote:The People of East Prairie Demand Reparations, The government agrees that these simple and Honest Farmers be repayed, And New forests be planted by New Hayeselia, it was irresponsible and insensitive to the enviroment and the hardworking farmers and Hunters of southeast missouri

The $650billion from the Bank of Indonesia is going towards this. The farmers and hunters have the ability to get compensation. We'd rather destroy a few livelihoods if it means saving lives.

Missourian Rebels wrote:also, What is to become of MR offshore Drilling rigs off the coast of Louisiana, you're going to destroy our income, of which new Hayeselia already damaged by burning a small area of our forests, forests that are needed to hunt deer from, which also threatened our crops!

These will be for use by the Missourian Rebels, however profits may be subject to sanctions regarding military expenditure.

Missourian Rebels wrote:Until you allow us to use the river freely, we will send tractor-trailer trucks to move shipments to the west coast to uncontrolled ports and house our navy in uncontrolled and uninhabited bays and islands in those areas, also that is where precision industries will move it's Cargo

Considering that it's incredibly hard to load multiple tons of cargo discreetley and without heavy machinery- ie, a crane- we have the oddest feeling we'll catch you out eventually.

Missourian Rebels wrote:As the de facto Dictator of MR, mr Plight Plixton has to condemn new hayeselia for this action, you argue we violated human rights when you burnt the very forests that gave our countrymen a livelihood. The oil rigs must remain in the corporate hands that owned them in the first place, or shall you Encroach again on the godgiven rights of life, liberty, and property

Another dictator? You seem to forget your former one is dead. Those forests were used in unconventional warfare, and their destruction was necessary for the Conquest of East Prarie. The area of forests we burned has been replanted, and any farmers in any way affected by this tactic is welcome to compensaton. It seems odd that your religious persecution stripped non-Christians of their country, therefore their rights to property and liberty, and for LGBT persons, death. We could easily pull out, launch some SLAMS and see your country completely decimated.

Missourian Rebels wrote:so, you basically block my only trade route, FUCK THIS, just wait, till I invade the lands north and west of me (nebraska, Wisconsin, idaho, All the way UP the MISSOURI RIVER and then out to the columbia river, which I will use small canals and locks to connect their hydrological sources

In that case, we will re-dispatch full military forces. Considering you have no professional military left, not by the look of things, we could just start bombing the river and any invasion forces. Take your defeat. Hold elections, then see what the people really want.

General Stern was troubled by the latest report coming in. It would appear that MR was already up to his old tricks and already in violation of the terms of surrender.

His hand was being forced, and action had to be taken. He walked over to the tactical overlay screen showing the newly re-formed nation that was being updated in real time as the Coalition carved up the spoils of war and looked it over for a moment.

"LT, prepare to transmit new orders to our troops on the ground."

"Aye sir, ready to copy"

"Order 1st Armored Battalion, 2ND Howitzer Battery and 3rd mechanized infantry and a flight of Monsoons for CAS to secure all shipments into and out of Precision Industries by any means necessary. I also want all workers at the site, especially the leadership, arrested on sight. Knowing MR's track record, deadly force is authorized if they do not surrender and comply peacefully. Also be wary of a booby trapped facility." He paused to give the LT time to catch up.

"Once cleared, order a thermobaric bunker buster strike against the facility itself and render it useless. Also, I want all MSR's heading out of Missouri secured with Tcp's and every commercial vehicle searched for contraband. Any route that we cannot secure I want rendered impassable. Bomb it, mine it, I don't care how you do it but make it so that nobody can use it. And make sure our patrols are where they are supposed to be and on time."

The LT finished writing in his pad of paper and quickly darted off to rely the orders to the field commanders. General Stern then turned the bridge over to his second in command and retired to his quarters for some much needed rest.

Hopefully the next day would bring good news and word that the enemy had pulled their head out of their fourth point of contact and stopped acting like a spoiled child.

Presidential Office
Lufenia, Luciratus

President Alistaire Hawthorne observed the reports with little relish. Missourian Rebels had fallen within a stunningly narrow span of time. His head fell into his hand which trembled violently at the idea of going before Congress with this bitter news. The reactions of his officials had not been nearly rapid enough to prevent a pointless escalation of hostilities, and he knew that any and all criticism would be levied against him. The National Liberals had been especially keen on intervention, and would quickly garner an advantage from this situation. The failure also ensured that the People's Moderate Islamic Coalition wpuld be more hesitant to lend their support to future legislation. Indeed, the entire debacle had been a trial in foreign policy capabilities, one which the executive had duely failed. However, Hawthorne could not permit himself to appear undecisive or weak given the circumstances. Congress must be addressed and the belligerents called to a diplomatic meeting in order to establish a firm, lawful resolution ending the hostilities. After all, legitimacy was an undeniably valuable commodity, and one which few aggressors could afford to procure. Most surely, they would accept.

"What are your thoughts, Mr. President?" Isaac Buchanan asked, "You seem quite reflective, and considering the foreign crisis-" "My thoughts commend illusory visions of peace and prosperity," Alistaire replied, "However, my endeavors strive to established a pillar of reality to such whimsical fancies which my mind construes." "What is your plan for peace, specifically?" Isaac questioned him, "Though, I understand if you do not see fit to confide this knowledge in me..." "I have no qualms about such a procedure," Hawthorne contended, "On the contrary, I require an eager ear, and a sharp mind to assess the merit of my proposal. I intend, sincerely and honestly, to established a diplomatic delegation consisting of the whole array of belligerents in this current conflict, in order to achieve a more peaceful and judicious resolution. Naturally, I shall purge my hands of such after justice is duely rendered." "Your idea seems reasonable," Buchanan agreed, "Though, the conquerors may be less than pleased to entertain representatives from Missourian Rebels." "If the delegation is to attain any semblance of legitimacy, this remains a necessity," Alistaire stated knowingly, "However, I do concur with your given contradiction to my theory. It appears morality and justice serve as our sole motivations, though politics might well be retained as a crucial aspect in the exchange." "I see," Isaac mused for a moment, "I acknowledge the rationality of the plan, though it relies heavily upon those who might be disposed to ignore such implorations. Shall we turn to the report?"

"I will attest to my prior meeting with both Mr. Greyson and Mr. Wolfe, in which matters relating to the Missourian economy were overtly and thoroughly discussed," Hawthorne began, "I believe completely in the inexorable natural propensities of humanity which drive them to commit both benevolent and malignant acts against their brethren at their own discretion. After all, such a duality of nature has been embued within our being by transcendent forces beyond perception and accountable knowledge. However, the difficult matter is to attain the pure motivations, while shirking those which create selfish dispositions. Thus, I have consented to permit regulated business ventures in devastated territories of Missourian Rebels. It is manifest that such an operation carries overt hazards, and will require the permission of numerous national entities, but it might assist in the reparation of the economic capabilities of the region and thus alleviate the grotesque suffering which war ravages against our austere designs and structures. Might I inquire your opinion on this matter, with a degree of professionalism, naturally?" "What of your plan?" Isaac asked, "Do you intend for me to organize unions and ensure the firm establishment of corporations tasked with implementing common worker's rights?" "You have guessed my precise desire," Hawthorne answered. "It seems to be a tangible option," Buchanan reflected, "However, it might be construed as naive. After all, many nations detest unions based on their motivations and demands of constant production. The Republic, itself, seldom permits full labor privileges. Though, I shall make an earnest attempt..." "It merely requires an equivalent positions in the government for both business and labor," Alistaire said, "Should this be established, justice and freedom will reign. I merely yearn for a self-sufficient, just, and affluent Missourian Rebels."

"I understand," Isaac replied, "I shall address this to the best of my ability." "Excellent," Alistaire exclaimed mildly, "I must confess my jovial gratitude for your consent in this matter, though I shall convey both concerns to Mr. Yossan and Mr. Rabin for consideration. Now, if you might excuse me, Congress demands a concise address pertinent to the current situation to our north." "I too must employ my abilities and pursue my allotted duties," Buchanan assented, "Good afternoon, sir." "Good afternoon, Mr. Buchanan," Hawthorne replied, rising from his leather chair. He appeared to smile softly, but the gesture was so slight that it might well have been an illusion. Both men marched through the oak doors, and proceeded about their daily business, namely politics and government.

San Juan Cathedral
Lufenia, Luciratus

No mass occupied the pulpit of the desolate religious building on La Calle de Amistad. Desolation and loneliness clung to the firm stone pillars of the church, but it still seemed a beacon of hope, especially at midday. The light fluttered through the stained glass of the cathedral, refracting into every shade imaginable. Rosy pinks, garish reds, flamboyant oranges, brilliant yellows, restive greens, beautiful blues, enlivening indigos, and deep purples cross the benches of the cathedral, transfiguring the hall into a piece of art. The silent beauty of the sanctuary was scarcely disturbed by the occassional squeaks of mice or the moving shades cast by the roaring, gasoline-driven beasts of the streets. San Juan Cathedral seemed untouchable, eternal. However, the perfect semblance of peace was perturbed as three figures stalked into the pulpit and sat.

Every individual in the group was a member of the National Liberal Party, who felt disgraced by the foreign policy lapses which had so dearly cost an neighbor. After all, it was the duty of a nation to conduct itself in a moral and upright way, and such gross negligence compromised such values. Senator Francisco Dominicanus headed the group, an obvious authority resounding in his clicking stride. Representatives Tahir Nayar and Marcelo Devaras trailed behind; a fierce, patriotic, and zealous gleam was readily apparent in both men's eyes. They finally seated themselves in the front-most benches and relaxed. The service would be held tomorrow, in a traditional Catholic manner, of course. However, their purpose revolved almost exclusively around politics.

"Chinga los Moderados y los Progrestistas!" Marcelo cursed, "Their lethargic delegating and debating has cost us a degree of national prestige. We broke our word. Los hijos de puta!" "I would suggest a refined abstinence from such vulgarities," Francisco remarked, "Especially, considering the location for our present conversation. I believe San Juan would be appalled at such language, as would Dios, no doubt." "I must concur with the senator," Tahir agreed, "Profanity will not suffice to solve our dilema and will tarnish our image. Shall we discuss the crux of the matter?" "I apologize," Marcelo murmured before beginning a prayer, "I believe we should attempt to unify the party around a specific base of ideas, perhaps start the campaign early?" "Ah, my rash young friend," Francisco laughed, "I will not begrudge you your wit." "We are not too far your juniors," Tahir noted, raising an eyebrow. "I do feel positively ancient, though," Francisco asserted, "However, onto more serious matters. I believe an immergency meeting of the entire party is required to affirm our positions and garner a mediocre public image. Funding an actual campaign can be put off for some time..." "Why must we put it off?" Tahir argued, "Why not oust the Moderates tomorrow in elections?" "Well, primarily because elections aren't tomorrow," Francisco chortled, "and secondarily, because funding is difficult to procure so early." "I agree with your proposal," Marcelo nodded. "As do I," Tahir acquiesced, "Though, grudgingly..." "Excellent," Francsisco noted, "I shall notify the Vice President of our intentions."

"I am curious," Tahir began, "I have heard that Mr. Carranza intends to intitiate martial reforms of a substantial nature. Is there any truth to this claim?" "Indeed, there is," Francisco answered nervously, "Although, I do not fundamentally opt to support the more militant wing of the party, I do support their current legislation. What would you care to know?" "What weapons will be tested?" Tahir asked breathlessly. "Nuclear devices will be tried upon a small, unpopulated, and non-threatening island, though many fear it will still attract unwarranted attention from self-righteous hypocrites," Francisco replied. "What of structural reforms," Marcelo pressed, "Rumors state that the Field Marshals will be replaced by more powerful Consuls elected by Congress. Does this merit truth?" "I believe so," Francisco answered, "Though, these affects may be detrimental or an attempt to centralize power within one government entity or another..." "This appears controversial," Tahir noted. "Quite..." Marcelo agreed.

Khan's Cafe
Lufenia, Luciratus

"It appears the Moderate Intellectuals are scrambling to correct this concentrated blunder," Senator Malik Khan remarked idlely, as he sipped his coffee, "I did explicitly state such legislative option might compromise our popular support in Myr, did I not? Assisting bigots and radicals in no manner furthers the goals or platforms of our party and has portrayed us as sickly. Allah wills defeat to the intolerant, and cherishes those who come wittingly to him imbued with peace and love. The prophet taught such things ceaselessly." "What of charity, imam?" Senator Dursa al-Yesser coughed gruffly, "Did not a pillar command an extension of charity to all those impoverished whether morally or economically? I merely felt compelled to serve these heavenly mandates, and now you levy criticism." "Why does God then so deliver the sinners into the hands of their conquerors?" Malik inquired, "It most assuredly marks them as infidels and transgressors of the divine law as written in the most holy Qua'ran. Besides this, the political atmosphere has shifted. I would advise our consent to the diplomatic negotiations, but overt and vocal opposition to any further motions supporting armed intervention." "You know well, brother, that the Catholic factions will clamor for violence," Dursa sighed, "Though, I am certain I can agree with you..."

"May I ask your honest opinion of the president?" Malik muttered, biting his lip nervously. "I believe that he is an admirable man rooted in sound principles and strong virtues," Dursa confessed, "Though, the degree of his secularism is astonishing, it might well serve the state for the better. He is an infidel, but an infidel no doubt pleasing to the eyes of Allah. How could God shirk a smile on such a just man?" "The Qua'ran does command a demonstration of respect for other believers of a single deity," Malik mused, "However, Alistaire does not adhere to the ideal of a God with ultimate designs for the people, and believes his workings as austere as natural processes. Most assuredly, he is an infidel. However, I confess my respect for him... He seems different..." "I know well your dislike of those who have not yet submitted to the will of Allah, but your professions startle me," Dursa replied slowly, "What do you believe of his policies?" "A blight upon his policies!" Malik exploded, "They are intolerable, and while I respect the man, I will never fully render my support to any of his ludicrous ideas. Such wanton idealism is more apt for the Progressives than any solid political entity." "A sweet answer," Dursa laughed.

Congress
Lufenia, Luciratus

"Good evening, my countrymen," President Alistaire Hawthorne began before Congress, "It is an urgent time and indeed a tense tribulation which our Most Serene Republic presently faces. To the north, belligerents recently terminated their sordid hostilities and claimed respectively victory or defeat. However, mere human reasoning (which is infinitely incapable of comprehending even the most basic mechanisms of the universe) can attest to the truism that no country, great or small, powerful or feeble, has even achieved a victory in any foreign or domestic conflict. War breeds only bitterness and death, both of those unsavory sentiments which cause decadence, poverty, and corruption to ursurp the proper abodes of progress ,affluency, and justice. This governing entity has explicitly and wholly condemned and admonished the deployment of hostile tactics to absolve the various parties of their lack of concurent opinion. Thus, we shall reject the final conditions of these most base hostilities, until such time that earnest negotiations have been arranged within the confines of Luciratus. Reason states that such an eandeavor shall profit all attending nations with political legitimacy, economic incentives, and a morally justified conscience. I will affirm this day that never shall I tolerate to inhabit such a world in which the mighty may oppress the frail, the many suppress the few, or the vehement overwhelm the meek. Each individual shall play their respective role upon the world stage, each nation shall retain its sovereignty, and each ideal shall be exhibited in all of its radiant beauty! Thank you, ladies and gentlemen."

The entire Congress clapped slowly at first, and then thunderously. The initial suprise of the impassioned speech, which Hawthorne typically avoided due to their tangibility with demagogues, wore into a modest pleasure. Hawthorne had offered such emotional statements before, but others were even more heart-felt. Augustine Carranza and Jacob Rabin both remained chief rivals for the position and they clapped knowingly. Every individual could feel the tension within the room, though it seemed ameliorated by the president's influence and speech. Alistaire had always retained a moderating influence; that is why President Yashua Mithridates had adored him so.

To: The Belligerent Nations
From: Herman Yossan, Secretary of State

My dear sirs and ma'ams,

Although our government continues to view your actions as illicit transgressions of international law, and fully unprovoked and excessive given the circumstances, we feel it would be unwise to permit an escalation of the current tension and destitution which currently ravage and threaten this region. Thus, we humbly implore you to send representatives to account for a variety of issues relating to the current situation within Missourian Rebels. Each nation shall recieve two delegates, regardless of their current status, and the meeting will be held in our capital. A number of concerns must be addressed, including: standards for a lawful and official armistice and treaty, a precise procedure to repair the economic state of Missourian Rebels and promote a capable, consenual government for the people, and to lend legitimacy and international recognition to the current state of affairs, while settling this issue. Please, lend this some moderate attention and respond in kind.

Sincerely,
Herman Yossan

Got off easy. for the insidious crimes against humanity and blasphemy for using the faith of Christianity as his standard for his crimes I would have liked him to be sentenced to life imprisonment in a super-max facility in a non-christian nation. Where his welfare and care are at the whim of those he brutalized. No true Christian of any denomination would condone such acts in the name of their religion.

I apologize for not being able to help, but the Grand-Inter Denominational Christian Alliance would have expelled me if I tried to help you guys. Lineala and MR kept speaking of why it would be wrong to punish a sinner. True, Jonah or whoever may have been given a second chance, but surely, his crimes were smaller than what the MR dictator had committed.
