Operation Omega (ATTN Tarsas, CLOSED)

Postby Rodarion » Sun Oct 31, 2010 7:05 am

October 31st, 2013, Tarsan territorial holding in Tyrrhenia.
Rodarion-Tarsan border

As the moon arose into the night sky, the 12 commandos looked upon the border checkpoint with eagerness and valor. Before them was the monarchist enemy that plotted the demise of the Rodarion people, the embodiment of the holy father. Behind them amassing was 1.2 million soldiers of the Rodarion Divine Army. Also over 2,000 aircraft this would be a quick invasion.
As they slowly moved towards the checkpoint, the darkness grew as the clouds moved to cover the moon’s peaceful face. As the moon light faded away the commandos rushed the checkpoint, running down along the side of the motorway, stopping 30 meters short of the checkpoint they lifted their SA-72 smgs and opened fire on the checkpoint, the suppressors making the stealthy attack difficult to hear. Aiming at the guards they hoped to open a gap in the border and send troops through without the Colonial government knowing until it was too late. Round after round left the barrel of the 9mm sub machine gun, flying towards the checkpoint and its inhabitants.

Vonstien Airbase, 50 miles west of the border.

Vonstien base was around 60 years old, built during the first militaristic years of the United Kingdom, it was small compared to bases in Aluria and Boluria. But it had its purpose this day, within its hangars were two luddite bombers. Armed with infra-red emitting rockets they were tasked with launching the rockets towards the north to draw out the Tarsan airforce, then bomber command would launch an attack against the airforce bases removing the chance to land and then the Divine Airforce would destroy the tarsan aircraft.
As they taxied down the tarmac, they lifted into the sky. The lights of the Rodarion countryside were few in number, villages slumbering as if the world was still running as normal. This op was secret not even the entire military knew about it, but below the Army was ready and waiting.

“This is Joker 1 to Joker 2 come in” the lead bomber spoke over the comm.. “Go ahead Joker 1” the other bomber responded, the bond between all pilots was strong, they were brothers all in the same situation serving one’s nation and serving the holy father. In every cockpit in every aircraft a small portrait of the Doci loomed over them ,like a ever watchful master. Making sure they did their duty.
“Joker 2, the wind is a bit tough, change course by 42 degrees to the west and follow up from there over” the lead ordered yawning as he did, an early start to an easy flight. “Copy that Joker 1” the convocation stopped.
Several minutes later they reached the firing position, opening their bomb bays the small missiles with the Infra-red tips suddenly exploded out into the night sky, around 50 in total were launched along the border towards the sea, suddenly the mass swerved and moved inland towards the heart of the Tarsan colony.

850 miles north of the Tarsan colony

A small naval strike force, around 12 ships in total steamed full speed towards the colony, their task to bombard the coastal cities and towns and try to engage any naval units there. As the waves began to crash along the hulls, the two Exodus class Battlecruisers opened their VLS tubes. And so they launched six Tomahawks each, all 12 heading for the Colonial capital city, at random co-ordinates they were to cause panic and chaos in the city and to distract the Colonial government from the invasion in the west.
With the force steamed a single new Redemption class Carrier, the 855 meter long leviathan harboured 75 aircraft. It soon would conduct its own mission.
“ten degrees to the southeast please Helmsman” Admiral Novora ordered with a monotone voice, to early him also, the nights on the ocean were tiring the air to clean for his urban mind. “Aye Aye sir, ten degrees to the south-east” the Helmsman responded, struggling to keep his eyes open.
Above them flew over two AWACs, they tried to get ahead to warn of any incoming Tarsan aircraft. And with the decoys should bring the aircraft straight towards them. With the Hawker Hermes loaned from the Hardenburghians awaiting on the flight deck and the Valkyrie AA cruisers circling the force it was a trap well panned out.
Soon the Colony will fall.

Border Outpost F1

Captain Algor Severa enrolled in the Colonial Militia at age 16. He was originally from southern Tyrrhenia but eventually his family moved to the prosperous colony of Elizabanthia. He had done what many young men did in the colony and enrolled in the illustrious and high paying job of Colonial Militia Member. He was twenty now and had been promoted to captain for taking a job in the hastily assembled border guard six years ago. Now he stood in a tower, the heavy machine gun aimed off into the distance. The long razor wire fence that partitioned off the border swept along far to the north all the way to the sea. It had been erected hastily six years ago. Barbed wire and tank traps were further behind that along with several mine fields attesting to the state of war that the empire had had with Rodarion for years now.

Tonight was a particularly cold fall night. Due to the far northern location, the colony was a long way away from the warm climate of the Imperial Homeland. He pulled his standard issue Mk III Type A Cold Weather Standard Issue Warmth Coat. The blend of materials kept him extremely warm for long periods of time and was issued to all the border soldiers. He adjusted the shoulder strap pad on his Mk III standard issue rifle shoulder strap. A Marks-Enfield Mk III standard issue rifle hung from the strap. He stared out into the darkness. He thought he saw something move but he couldn't be sure. Night vision goggles were quickly donned. There was something out there. Gun fire suddenly erupted and cut into the tower slamming through the wood and into the steel plate behind it with a loud ping. The heavy machine gun opened fire in the direction that the fire came from and the Captain cured the alert button. This would alert everyone throughout the border guard that an attack had come. The fire fight began. An alert would be sent back.

Radar Station 1A4

The general alert sounded as the bombers were detected. The radar technician called out. "Major Wescott, we have detected Rodarion bombers. They seem to have launched some sort of rockets."

Major Wescott quickly went to the screen and looked over the technician's shoulder. "There seems to be little threat. These rockets just fell. Apparently they were supposed to be some sort of diversion. Did they think we would launch the entire airforce after some rockets? Alert the governor."

"Yes sir."

Governor's Mansion
1372 Grey Street

The governor's mansion was a massive house outside of the capital city. The governor, his children, his wife, and forty servants lived in the palace. They called it a mansion, but it was really a palace. It was 2 am in the morning and the governor was in a deep sleep. He always slept his best this time of night. The governor was rudely awakened when his phone rang. It was the military line in the corner of the room. His wife jolted awake. "Rudolph, what is it?"

The governor got up from bed and went to the phone. The digital screen read Border Command. "Those damn brass had better hope this is good. I dislike being woken up at night." He picked up the phone swiftly. "What is it?"

The voice on the phone was distraught. "Sir. Rodarion bombers have recently attempted some sort of attack and a vicious firefight has broken out on the border. A border captain has reported that it seems to be a small team invading."

The governor sobered up quickly. "Alright. I will go to Colonial Command." He hung up the phone. "Bethany, I must report to work. Rodarion has launched some attacks. This seems to be some sort of precursor to an invasion." He grabbed his thick coat and placed it right over what he had on. "Be safe dear", his wife said as he walked out the door and down the hallway. He quickly went to the mansion's garage and started the car, a VLT sports car. He zoomed out into the street and toward the capital city.

68th Shock Legion.

In the hills overlooking the treacherous border, Colonel Attar Navus the man who would lead the 68th legion to glory, was standing overlooking the small firefight that suddenly erupted.
“God help the Tarsans, this will be most definitely a tough fight, but we are superior, God is with us always and the strength of a thousand angels shall smite them” He smiled. Stroking his chin, suddenly the order came down for his MRLS Division to open fire on specific points along the border fence. Including the gun tower that was below him.
As the order was passed along, the Green camo MRLS launchers lifted their rocket racks and opened fire. Launching their 188mm rockets towards the gun towers along the border. As they tore through the cold crisp night air, their warheads glistened. Sub-munitions would tear any person to shreads. The commando's sent to attack the border checkpoint came under heavy fire, but they were the elite of the elite, they ignored the suppressing fire, and continued to fire. One even threw a frag grenade towards the tower.
Others used thier SMGs to suppress the trooper behind the gun.

Behind them MRLS the 21st Armoured legion prepared to storm across the border and into the colony. And they would so showing no mercy. The Challenger 10s headed in first, their 130mm Rifled gun would smash a Abrams without much effort. The Rodarion infantry in their C10 pattern camo armed with the SA-85 assault rifle. Their will and pride unbreakable.
Viking IFVS prepared to ferry the thousands of men into the colony, but the Artillery must do it’s bit first.
Above them 36 AC-130s flew over, low altitude trying to limit Radar detection. However they arose and their ramps opened up, and out jumped the Para-troopers, tasked with securing the Highways and roads leading to the invasion zone. There they would ambush any incoming militia or military units. Also with them were 45 60 F-16s and 32 Su-47s tasked with Air support and escort.

Van-Orus Missile Base, Mysterion Mountains, Rodarion

Within the medium sized missile base built in the late 60’s the base boasted eight silos. But this was not a nuclear attack but a tomahawk attack. The missiles would strike Key infrastructure targets, Power plants, Government buildings, Bridges, Airports and the Largest Harbour. The hope to bring chaos and disruption was much anticipated. And so 16 tomahawks were launched towards the targets that were studied by MI7 and the NMIS (National Military Intelligence Service). They too tore through the sky, leaving a sleek white tail behind them. They rose up into the sky and them screamed towards their targets.

Task force Alpha-3 310-200km north of the colony

Aboard the Redemption class Carrier, Admiral Regulus Novora plotted the co-ordinates within Elizabanthia’s capital. There he smiled to know that the heretic tarsans would burn in their sleep. He looked to his weapons officer who then sent the co-ordinates to the two Exodus Class Battlecruisers, who then as a result launched 40 Brahmos missiles from their forward Brah-mos VLS tubes. The missiles were aimed at residential and economic areas of the capital. Hoping to cause more chaos and hysteria amongst the colonists. At supersonic speeds the Brah-mos could easily reach the coast without much warning. However depending on Tarsan missile defences, it would be god’s will.
Soon 1.2 million troops would be streaming into the colony.
