So, while I figure out my FT intro, I've got a nice storyline set down for my MT incarnation, the Republic of Aldastan. Quick warning, a lot of this nation is stolen from the Command and Conquer series.

This is supposed to be broken into a bunch of threads, and here they are:

Angels in Hell (Closed to Further Entries)
Summary: Fighting has broken out between religious extremists and radical communists. Under a WA mandate (I know they have no place in II but it doesn't really matter), a nation or group of nations sends peacekeeping forces to pacify the country until the elections. Unfortunately their presence feeds into an Aldastani hatred of foreign interference, and now the peacekeepers will be facing attacks from both sides. This will eventually end in a withdrawal, possibly a Vietnam-style "choppers off the embassy roof" sort of thing

At the Throat
Summary: With the peacekeepers gone, the two factions now fall on one another with unbridled fury. This is more of a behind the scene RP, with small groups of International Brigades-style volunteers, arms deals and such, trying to shape the future of Aldastan. No invasions. This will end with one side victorious and in control of the government, which side is largely dependent on the RP

Back Again
Summary: With the civil war over, the victorious side has driven the other out of power and back to their strongholds. However, to sustain popular support, attacks on the Muslim and Christian minorities begin, spiraling into a genocide of the ethnic groups which follow those religions. The WA (or a Coalition of the Willing) returns, now with the mission of regime change and stabilization. However, once again the fury of Aldastanis turns on the foreigners, and soon a vicious guerrilla war begins. This can end in a variety of ways, I'd accept a limited foreign presence as long as its RPed well.

I'd like to do these chronologically, so I'd prefer is people signed up for Angles in Hell first. You're welcome to RP in all three, but if you're not good, or godmod or anything like that I'll ask you to leave.

For the "Angels in Hell" thread, are we to have initial success or just be trudging along in the mud for the entirety we stay? Also if it would be all right I would love to be a foreign presence in the aftermath of "Back Again" if it was okay with you.

There would be initial success, but gradually the hardliners in the two main factions are going to get blood boiling, ideally through some accidental atrocity committed by the peacekeepers like shelling a village by accident or something.

For a model, the Marine intervention in Beirut is kind of what I'm going for.

I might want to do Angels in Hell too, in the peacekeeper role. I've wanted to do an RP like this for awhile.

Both would be fine. In fact, perhaps your peacekeepers are subtly aiding the communists during the intervention? Such aid could then continue in the civil war.

Hopefully a guerilla war situation will help people avoid the temptation to godmod.

I'm pretty much open for all of them, in various portions. That's if a nation my size could fit in.

Also, all is up to the OP but in my opinion, anyone could enter "At the Throat" since it focuses on guerilla warfare.

The commando idea would probably work best in At the Throat. You could follow the suggestion I gave The Floridian Coast and send peacekeepers who subtly aid one side for Angels in Hell as well. Keep in mind the anti-Communist forces are religious fanatics.

Could I most decide to help neither side and actually decide to create the new nation my colony? Of course this plan would ultimately fail and only bring worse relations with the people leading up to "Back Again"

That would be a good rationale for invading in Back Again. Try to subjugate the country under the guise of the WA, fail, and maybe in the end carve out a zone of control, sort of like Hong Kong?

Then Cypur's forces would try to act as a genuine middle-ground. Wanting to help the non-communists who aren't religious fanatcis and ending up being slandered and hated by both sides in the end.

I'll participate in all of them as a Coalition of the Willing nation; if possible. Which could still be an enemy of the communists (and religious fanatics) by trying to help the middle-man...if there is one.

Well, there isn't much in terms of a middle ground, not a very well-organized one. You could try and set one up, which would be interesting. I'll put you down.

I would like to participate in all three, as they sound quite interesting. For Angels In Hell, I would be sending a small peacekeeping force, as well as a [Nuclear Fist] government backed arms dealer to better supply the Communist forces.

For At the Throat, I'd be sending a small volunteer force to help train the Communist guerillas.

For Back Again, I'd be once again sending a small peacekeeping force.
