I'll take part, and I can make a map too :3

Also, good idea to do something ORBAT-related if we're using NS nations. Alternatively, I guess, we could knock up small factbooks of fictional nations and decided techs from there.

If you like, Malkyer can host a non-canon wargame (i.e. the practice portion of the RP), while the details of the IC thread are being figured out.
Founded 8 September 2004. Deleted mid-2007. Resurrected 15 February 2010.

Deleted again at some point, re-resurrected December 2012. Re-re-resurrected March 2016. Very much a zombie by this point.

I roleplay as the Whitefall Confederation, of which the Kingdom of Malkyer is a member. The Confederation as a whole has a population of roughly 1.2 billion, regardless of the what the NS page says.

I reserve the right to ignore any and all IC posts that I find excessively unrealistic and/or stupid.

Bajireyn, yes, you can join. After this, no more people are accepted.

OK, I've got the puppet created and ready. The nation is [nation=short]Salcombe Island AU1[/nation] (AU1 standing for Austranesian Territories 1, indicating 1st island there!).

The basic storyline is the island nation is attacked by a dictatorial nation (not quite as dictatorial as North Korea, but nonetheless dictatorial), as a random attack. They've attacked an expy (see the link for the definition) of Moldova (nation name not determined), and now chose Salcombe Island as their latest attack point.

However, this is going to be semi-realistic, with no godmoding etc. and close to the way people speak, rather than sounding like a story, instead presenting fiction as if it were factual.

The continuity of this is going to affect any future roleplays with Salcombe Island AU1 in the future - so as such, it's creating future continuity for any further Salcombe (Salcombian ?) roleplays.

Anyone else think this is a good way to go?

So the idea is that you have people on the side of the Expy, in a (probably) UN-styled character for their nation, and others, on the side of the protagonist, in a (probably) similarly dictatorial character.

Salcombe Island is now ready - Salcombe Island AU1 and this RP can start when all are ready, with the training RP first, which can allow for OOC comments to be inserted in, unlike the proper one.

Chemaki, you've got the whole idea in one sentence there. :)

Okay, here's a basic ORBAT format. Since it's MT, please use RL units/weapons. There are a lot of them. You can name them what you like, but don't 'invent' techs/weapons/units up completely, although you can have some variation. I guess it's gonna be a strike-force/squad style RP, so here's the template ORBAT:

Code: Select all
[Strike Team Name]
Person Name:
Brief Bio:
Equipment:
Picture (link):

Vehicles optional
Vehicle Name:
Description (or image):
Amount:
Here is my ORBAT
Chemaki Preventive Insertation Force 18A

Person Name: Captain Khino Takken
Brief Bio: The son of a wealthy family, Khino has been blessed with a military and political advantage from the start. Inducted into the Political Officers Corps at age 18, Khino has earned many highly distinguishing merits for his command expertise in handling domestic affairs. Now a long-standing veteran who, strangely, has been barely scarred by the horror of war (he seems to enjoy it, even) Khino is the logistics head of the operation.

- Chk-71P http://gunsite.narod.ru/welrod_sp.gif
- Officer Uniform
- 'Dragon Scale' layered kevlar
Picture (link): http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/c ... ruyama.gif

Person Name: Field Officer-Marshal Yttah Khain
Brief Bio: Also born into wealth, Yttah has spent the first 10 years of his working life juggling a career in army and law. Eventually, after years of patience, he was inducted into the Officer-Marshal Corps, which is what he stoically revolves his life around. A feared and respected 'whip' for the rest of the strike team, and, more importantly, to the local inhabitants, Yttah is a specialist in morale degeneration and regeneration, and, more importantly, he has few limits in his line of work.

- Katana
Picture (link): http://www.internetsword.com/sitebuilde ... 94x408.jpg

Person Name: Field Officer Yoskisa Gkhalkamor
Brief Bio: Yokisa is one of the youngest officers in the entire Chemaki army, and he is an inspiration for many soldiers, for Yokisa is one of the very few who was promoted from a conscript to an officer - Obviously it took a lot of time. Yokisa is a 'jack of all trades', enabling him to take control of every situation, and make the rest of the team feel at ease.

- Officer Uniform
Picture (link): http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/c ... _Nishi.jpg

Person Name: Infantry Corporal Tekhi Chong
Brief Bio: Tekhi was raised in the backstreets of one of Chemaki's large cities - Nobody knows exactly which - In fact, all most people know about Tekhi is that he joined the military at the tender age of 14, and carved his life around the army. Times were tough for him, but he managed to persevere, carrying the Chemak spirit with him.

- Helmet
- Kevlar

Person Name: Infantry Corporal Thein Sun
Brief Bio: Regarded as a Maverick by others, or just generally annoying, Thein Sun's military ideals are unpatriotically symbiotic with the West. He is a great tactician, being able to react quickly to a situation, even if he is not always doing what the higher-ups want him to do.

- Helmet
- Kevlar

Person Name: Lance Corporal Takada Nihomisha
Brief Bio: The son of a wealthy stockbroker, Takada has always had an obsession with the military, much to the dislike of his family. To this day, he serves as a veteran in the force, and is able to keep cool in any situation.
Equipment:

- Helmet
- Kevlar
Picture (link): http://www.waidev2.com/php/IMAGES/HC_Th ... _large.jpg

Person Name: Lance Corporal Hyato Mhamojaki
Brief Bio: Hyato is one of the oldest members of the strike force, and although not too adept a fighter, his military experiance as an offer in the Chemaki army is unparalleled. He is a much-liked and respected member of the team.
Equipment:

I guess that depends with the OP.

If he/she wants it to include PMT elements, or just MT elements, then *Shrug*.

Zedsania, you can join.

Chemaki, you have the right ideas, however, should we make sure equipment is standardised for most soldiers depending on rank, and not duplicate it if unless the soldier is a different rank?
Basically, concentrating on a bio.

Also, when creating the bios, this code is useful at the end of the application:
Code: Select all
All characters appearing in this work are fictitious. Any resemblance to real persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental.
All persons, and entities, in situations depicted are fictitious and any resemblance to any person living or dead or to any actual entity or situation is purely coincidental.
This publication is based on some true events, however, has been fictionalized and all persons appearing in this work are fictitious.
Any resemblance to real people, living or dead, is entirely coincidental.
(just in case the search-engines index this site).

As such, we can now get on to discussing the finer detail.

Canada, why would France become an ally with Britain, if Germany controls almost half its mainland. Germany also has the coastline that is on the atlantic and north sea.

We can start it really, the idea is good. But we need all the participants ready to do it. Basically, I'm going to be following the story of an infantryman. An airman, flying a fighter. A sailor, and then the Commanders and the people back home. If it is okay, I don't wish to do an ORBAT, because I'm sort of just doing the human story out of it. Of course, they have guns etc. But if I am going to make an ORBAT, I'd rather do it when we've got the RP started.

Sign me up, but I'm a newbie at RP. I have a highly detailed national identity though, I like to think of my nation as a collection of old Mesoamerican tribes (Aztecs, Caribs, Mayans, Toltecs, etc) who have banded together to create a new 'Allied States' Nation, each tribe with their own state. My military is highly influenced by the Aztecs (my spec ops group are 'Jaguar Warriors') and my troops are highly religious, and believe in the old Aztec/Mesoamerican faith, and will mention Aztec gods often in combat. I'm not sure where I'd stand in this war but sign me up.
