Somewhere in the tropical latitudes, a few hundred miles off the coast of a nation that had long ago sold off an archipelago from the outskirts of their territory, sat the Orange Islands District of the Empire Prefecture of the Imperial Government of the Dominate of Emperor Pudu.

The eight islands that made up the Orange Islands chain were small, tropical, and for the most part covered in sugar plantations. Their rocky coasts provided good shelter for ships, and as a result the second largest of the islands' operations was a large Imperial Navy base. Other than the plantations and the navy, the islands had no special value to the Dominate, and were largely a trivial resource. The one thing that drew them most recently to world events was the fact that, because sugar farming is a very unpleasant and generally crappy job, the Imperial Government never wanted to use it's own citizens for the job. For the purposes mostly of better general civilian morale and people-government faculty the government used an enslaved labor force to do the physical sugar farming work here on the Orange Islands.

It had been a long time since the Dominate had been out rounding up its own slaves every year, and as a result almost all of the slave population moving in and out of the Orange Islands originated in one of a few states from whose corporations or governments the Emperor received his slaves. Annual shipments made their way directly to the Orange Islands, where slave population mortality was fairly high, and delivered a fresh crop of young healthy faces. And by young, for the government's annual shipment the average median age in a group of newly delivered slaves was 7. It was expected that those healthy enough for work would grow up and become talented sugar farmers, or that they would die while they were cheap. More matured slaves were, naturally, more expensive to purchase, and the Emperor was always conscious of his frugality. This also, naturally, meant that the annual shipments were very, very large.

In the mountains above the naval base on Sanzuniao, the largest of the eight islands, Fleet Admiral Vasilii Ustinov had a large estate. It was not moderate, but the Imperial Government wasn't one to built palatial compounds for its public servants. The Admiral used it mostly for business, as was the case this morning when he was to be found in his large office in the company of Mr. Grey, from the Foreign Relations Office regional office down the mountain, as well as Mr. Adam, the president of the Imperial Trading Company, by tele-conference. Both the Admiral and Mr. Grey were seated, on opposite sides of a large black poplar desk whose only adornment seemed to be a pair of glasses and a bottle of aged port.

The meeting was already underway, "You understand, Vasilii, the significance of the decision that's been made?" said the television that Mr. Adam's young eager visage occupied.

"I do sir," replied Admiral Ustinov, "I hadn't expected a call from the Magnum Concilium before I've eaten lunch. Not that I don't think you're busy there in the capital, sir."

"That's the truth Admiral, back here we don't have time for drinks before lunch, for instance." Mr. Adam continued, "It is more than imperative that you send a visual and obvious message to these who would target our company's fleets. The Orange Islands shipment leaves in two weeks, I'm sure you remember."

"I do sir, the navigational lanes will be open for you, sir."

"That's what we all hope." said Mr. Grey, "This Operation Free Waters was supposed to target only rouge slavers. With their attack of Ralkovia we are to understand now that our own fleets are in danger. After all, if Gholgoth is not to be feared, then who is?"

"That was exactly my worry, Mr. Grey, and your counterpart in the capital echoed your warning. These are bold moves by the anti-slavers indeed."

Admiral Ustinov spoke up, "What exactly am I up against out there, Mr. President?"

"Well, the force assaulting the Ralkovian fleet is over one-hundred ships strong, but almost half of them are cruisers or carriers; large enough to make good targets for the arsenal ships. You're going to be more than well equipped when it comes to meeting one of these fleets."

"Are the Ralkovians anywhere between here and the Ango-Saxons?"

"No, you shouldn't be running into any of that trouble, which is another reason you may not even encounter one of the Grimmadoni fleets that seem to be the backbone of the operation."

"I'm sure whatever they have, the allocated fleet will be enough for me, sir."

"Fiat, Vasilii. The fleet will be deployed in two days, the ships will arrive tomorrow. You'll find the full compliment detailed in the e-mail you received."

"How many are coming, exactly?" asked Mr. Grey.

"Well, when this other fleet gets here we'll have over fifty ships out there, not to mention those you can't always see." Admiral Ustinov pointed behind him at the bay below. Presently there were only maybe a dozen small cruisers in port, with couple of other, larger silhouettes bobbing farther off the coast. A submarine dock near the entrance to bay was full, but that was only twenty boats.

"I trust you will execute this operation to the best of your abilities," added the television, "I'll leave you to your breakfast."

The television, after receiving the farewells of the Admiral and Mr. Grey, turned to an empty blue screen.

"Care for a drink?" asked Mr. Grey, finally.

"Sure thing, hopefully not my last taste of this bottle."

"Now, don't be grim Vasilii," said Grey, lighting a cigarette.

The next day a fleet of fifty-four warships and twenty-two tenders and supply ships left the port at Sanzuniao, bound via the established trade routes, to the slave-trading nation of the Anglo-Saxon Empire. In approximately 10 days a massive compliment of slaves, over one-hundred thousand, will leave that country bound for the Orange Islands. Admiral Ustinov and his fleet, dubbed Force G, would arrive there well before the convoy left, and would not be escorting that convoy when it left. The Admiral's fleet was at sea to hunt and destroy any do-gooding international crusaders that might be inclined to attack his nation's convoy.

The first time Force G detected any warship flying the flag of a member-nation of the Operation Free Waters alliance it would attack and destroy that ship, and any of its allies that made themselves known. No messages were sent out regarding Force G, and nobody outside of the Imperial Pudite Navy knew what this large fleet's purpose was on the trade lanes.

OOC: Anyone who wants can run into Admiral Ustinov and Force G is more than welcome. If I don't find anyone out on the ocean I expect no trouble will find me when my 100,000 child slaves make their last voyage a few weeks from now.

He said, and the captain nodded, telling the man at the wheel to go as he had said.

Grand admiral Alamo hunt paced up and down on the bridge, glancing from left to right. His massive fleet was travelling at massive speeds for ships there size. They would be near the the meeting point in about 12 hours. From there, they would assalt the fleet of ralcovia, which would play a massive part in the fight against slavery. But now, they sailed on, mistiles primed, guns at the ready.

As the massed attack fleet ground on towards the Ralkovian forces; the submarine CRS Ajax slipped into the depths of the ocean, activating its stealth system. It would lie silent until its commanders called upon it...

Spying the ships with their view screens, the thirty Leviathon Sphere's turned and headed towards them, the leader of the little group nodded, and sent a message to the others.

With a small splash, they made course to group with the fleet, trusting on luck to avoid being grouped with the wrong fleet.
