It has come to our attention recently that the slave trade is still rife in the world. We are a concerned nation that wishes to use diplomatic and potentially military pressure to bring an end to the slave trade, and if this is not possible, to at least moderate it to ensure that the rights and health of such people are protected.

Diplomatically, we aim to get an Abolition resolution into the World Assembly.

Militarily, we are allying with the Technocracy of Gimmadonis in order to create a fleet to patrol the slave trade sea-routes with a view to apprehending slavers. At first our remit will apply to rogue slavers only, we will debate as to whether we will apprehend ships flying the flags of large and established nations. We already have a peacekeeping task force of destroyers deployed. We also wish to act as a mutual defence alliance to deter attacks from slaver nations.

Moderator Coachia loved the smell of sea air since she was a little girl. Good thing, too, having spent thirty of her forty-nine years in the Navy in some regard. Her skin was wrinkled, aged even worse by the salt in her veins. She could have afforded any number of cosmetic surgeries to make her look to be in her thirties, but she rejected them. She was proud of the wear that the oceans had done to her, and wouldn't trade her weathered and steely look for any amount of beauty. She snickered, watching the the old man, also ex-navy, walk around with a huge, toothless grin on his face, a bottle of whiskey in his hand. She sometimes wondered if he signed a deal with the devil for a never-ending supply, as he always seemed to have one in his grip.

As the ramp of the Albion lowered, a certainly impressive vessel, she slowly walked over to meet those disembarking, namely Admiral David. She knew him when she saw him, a proud looking man, heavily decorated and wearing the credentials of an Admiral, come into view. She moved to shake his hands.

"Hello Admiral. I'm Moderator Coachia, of Naval Patrols... and of course, other affairs as well, and this..." Gesutring with a bit of a smile and a jerk of the head, back to Barry, who had already been met by Corbyn sailors, receiving much pats on the back and handshakes, "is our friend, Mr. Kellers."

Captain Roice Rolls stood upon the deck of the CSS Moon Pie. The warm tropical air slowly whipped around his face, causing smoke to billow from his cigar. The Moon Pie slowly chugged through the waters, its lights panning the open bay. A small fishing boat drifted past, the workers hauling in the night's last catch. Rolls caught a glimpse of a 12 Meter Yacht. He yelled for the First Mate to bring her hard to port, ready to board this unmarked vessel. The small vessel sped up, trying to escape the Moon Pie, small bags wriggling on board. Suddenly, ropes swung upon the decks of the Yacht, and elite Charvahn marines stormed the boat. 5 men were bound and gagged in leather bags, trying to escape. They were going to be sold as slaves in southern Charvah, where rebels keep a strong hold.

"Glad to hear it." Fai followed the man back onto the Albion. As she walked into the stateroom, she greeted the defense minister and sat. She poured herself a drink, unsure of what it was, but she wasn't really picky with her alcohol. She took a sip, and began to speak. The Admiral and the minister leaned in, waiting for her words.

"Gimmadonis is prepared to contribute 2nd, 4th, and 6th Fleets to the operation. All three fleets consist of the following:

Up to 43 frigates, 31 cruisers, both light and heavy, roughly 18 destroyers, 20 for 6th fleet, 4 Nimitz class each, and about a dozen assault carriers. Each fleet will also come with their own flagship, the G.D.N. Galileo, Copernicus, and Darwin respectively, all of which are carriers roughly 1.4 times Nimitz size, if you were unaware."

Havign said all this, she took another swig and continued.

"All together, we will be donating around 8 million men and women to the operation, and fund it with about 1 trillion dollars. Please make due note that this operation, if it gets off the ground, will be the highest priority of the Gimmadonis Navy for a decade, unless war breaks out."

Not waiting for the response, the Moderator took a swig. She secretly smiled, Gimmadonis had been wanting something like this for a long time. They'd been prepared, but never put it into action.

We will need to stand strong against reactionary jingoistic nations, we cannot cave into threats.'
He sipped his own drink, a Corbyn Island special beer.
The minister was drinking water, unable to stomach all these alcoholic navvies, and jotting notes down briskly.
'We'll continue talking whilst we give you a tour of the Albion', the Admiral added, and his voice turned to alarm as a tinny report sounded in his earpiece. 'An emergency just arose, we received a report of Charvahn-owned vessels taking slaves!'
Now was the first test of the alliance. 'Scramble a flotilla' the admiral ordered Captain Reynolds. 'I want us there asap. Ms. Coachia, can any of your ships join us now?'

The fleet steamed towards the international waters in between Furneauxia and Dewhurst-Narculis creating a choke point 100km across. If salvers were to avoid this they would have to travel south of Furneauxia, through the 100 ft waves of the Southern Ocean and the Needle like rocks of the Maatsuukyer group and around countless forts and Naval fleets

If you wish to fight slavery then form an agreement amongst yourselves that gives permission to the naval vessels of any vessel in THIS alliance to search and seize a vessel of any other nation in THIS alliance suspected of slaving. Do not try and take on the role of policing the world.

Let us be clear. New Bern does not support slavery of any kind but should you, or anyone in this alliance, attempt to board, detain, seize, apprehend, or otherwise impair the shipping of New Bern it will be seen as an act of aggression and responded to as such.

Admiral Marion Steeler had received the message loud and clear. It was time to mobilize. She was surprised it had been so soon, but it just showed how rampant the slave trade was in the world. She turned to her first mate.

"Alert the fleet, we are moving to group up with the Albion and intercept a slaving vessel. All hands on deck."

"Aye-aye, ma'am."

4th Fleet turned inward toward the harbor, and moved to group with the Corbyn fleet.

Since your nation are not slavers, there is about zero chance that any of your ships will be stopped. And the measure is drastic, but it is taken in the interests of freedom internationally; we will attempt to gain WA approval.

Vulnerable targets were being provided, complements of the Ralkovian Special Labors Ministry. It would be up to this alliance to either act on this, and be subjected to a most lethal beatdown, or let the ships go along their merry way and be discredited.

As of this day, the twelth of October, 2010, by the grace of the Grand Duke and the House of the Black Crown, give all naval vessels the right to board and inspect any vessel within 500km of any sovereign shore under the Grand Duke's Authority. This entails 20,000km².

Any vessel found carrying slaves will be given the choice to either surrender the ships and the slaves or refuse surrender and be at risk of death and most certainly, jail.
