Emperor Seeks Empress

Postby Saxony Silvia » Sun Oct 10, 2010 11:43 am

(OOC: Alright, so apparently monarchist states don't believe in love, emotions, or fun... As a Communist who role-plays a monarchist nation, I shall join in the trivial unionising(not for labour, I refer to marriage) and cavorting associated with two lustfull royals who have never met! This shall be rather like a parody, but please participate. I meant for my emperor to be a rather decent gentlemen, but let us say the pressures at court forced him to search for a marital alliance abroad. There shall be some Silvian ladies though... As for the picture, yes, he is quite adoreable. Edit: Puppetry fail!)

The constant pressures exerted upon him by the Prussian and Austrian nobles were becoming rather burdensome as of late, thus Emperor Alric von Kaiser decided to arrange a marital alliance with a foreign noble of some esteem and position. He sent widespread telegrams inviting all to attempt to earn his affections. However, in his heart, he knew none would be able to. The whole gist of a foreign marriage was centred around power, not love, and he knew this. The only two women Alric had ever endeavoured to truely loved were Silvians, and one romance had collapsed. Lady Adale Gavell, The Countess von Hamburg, had fallen in love with another man, whom had promptly died in the Civil War. This had devastated her, and thus him considerably. Sir Jon von Aldeberte had been a good man, and was sorely missed. However, the king had pressed on. His affections for another noblewoman, Lady Evelyn Foerester had blossomed into another love. The emperor had been engrossed with courting her, when the telegram had arrived. It was a petition from various nobles, principally Prussian and Austrian, demanding him to choose a foreign bride. The basis of such a decision was pure and simple, politics. If Alric chose somebody he truely loved, it would mean selecting one noble family over the other. This would upset the balance of power, and possibly cause a rebellion. Alric had no choice.

The letters were sent inviting any foreign lady to attend to this matter. Of course, Alric was fully consumed with power, as the knowledge that love could not be attained crushed his designs on affection. No love would ever exist. He sent his picture attatched to these documents, although a number of noticeable tears stained the parchment.

To: All Foreign Ladies of Prestige
From: His Royal Majesty by the Grace of the Gods, High Emperor Alric von Saxony; Sovereign of Saxony-Silvia, Prince von Saxony, Grand Duke von Frankfurt, Order of Sigmund, Vermillion Knight of Germania, Liege-Lord of the Duchy of Northern Saladin consisting of the Counties of Victoire, Surana, and Franza, Defender of the Rhine, Lord of Prussia, Liege-Lord of Austria, Master of the Lowlands, and Defender of the Golden Crown
Subject: Marriage

My most esteemed ladies,

It is my modest and much reverent pleasure to announce my intentions of establishing a union of sorts with a foreign maiden of proper social stature and heart. I am as of yet a bachelour, a fact which weighs sorely upon my conscience and tests the respects of my nobles at Court. With your assistance and affections, I seek to remedy this horrid erring in my station. It is my arrogance and pride chiefly which have thus far deprived me of sending so gracefull a letter. I assure you that much wealth, affection, and prestige awaits those willing to accomodate the interests of this letter. What is mine shall also be yours. Whatever love I might muster shall fall upon your feet like the hammer of Thor, the sheer weight shall crush you. Whatever love you offer me shall pierce my verily my cool, haughty heart, forever rending my pride and bestowing unto you my affections.

With Love,
Emperor Alric von Kaiser

Enclosed is a letter from Princess Isabella

His Majesty Emperor Alric von Kaiser,

It is the wish of my Mother, Queen Sophia, and indeed for the good of my people for me to wed you, the Sovereign of a mighty empire. Indeed after reading of your interests (and viewing your picture, of course) I find myself growing to such an idea. Mama says that she will not force me into any marriage, and I would like to know more about you, and hear from you before we proceed any further.

But of course it is not fair for me to ask about you without first giving something of myself first! I enjoy first and foremost the pleasures of a social life, and I have found that my usual occupation of acting as a delegate in my mother's stead gives me much joy. With this I have found a love of dancing, marvellous with an able partner, perhaps not so much when dancing with an old army major that has had too much to drink! However I am also fond of such solo activities as reading and painting, quiet activities to amuse ones self in the quiet evenings.

Hobbies are one thing, personality I another. i will not pretend I am the best judge of myself, but i will try to be as truthful as possible. I am certainly outgoing, and have a love of laughter and fun and can be bored easily. I suppose my worst fault would be a short temper, something I have gotten off my mother.

I hope to hear from you soon, and continue this further.

Princess Isabella, Archduchess of Faranay

"Well, everything is fine its just that we still need to find at least 50 more beds" the young princess said as she sat at a round breakfast table with her mother and father. Princess Rebecca was the only daughter of Their Royal Highness Prince Anthony & Princess Barbra and she had just spent the last 2 years in India working with bride burning.

"I'm sure the donations will come through" Princess Barbra reassured her, "I can't imagine the pain those poor women are going through, isn't terrible Anthony?"

"umm yes, must be horrific" the elderly prince replied as he poured a glass of orange justice

The family then spent the next 40 min reminiscing over family trips and the young princesses travel throughout India & Pakistan. It was then Prince Anthony pulled out a letter from his pocket and slid it towards Princess Rebecca. "I think its about time" he said when the princess opened letter already knowing what to likely was.

"You remember the Emperor don't you?" her mother chimed in trying to convince her before she changed her mind

"Of course" the princess replied while she read the letter

"Please Rebecca, think about it," her mother plead, "the Emperor is a good man, if we knew thats was something that could put you or anyone we loved into harms we would never propose the idea. Plus, you and the Emperor seemed to hit it off very well at the ball, we have many of the same interest."

"You mother is right" the prince stepped in, "look, both of your brothers have started their lives and very happy, its time you start yours. Its up to you darling, here is the letter,do as you will i know you will pick the right choice"

Their Royal Highness then left the table to being their long day ahead.

The Office of HRH Princess Rebecca of Watt

You Imperial Majesty,

I write you this letter in concern to your proposition for marriage. I do believe, as we see time pass, both of us have began to question the validity of our lives and if we have reached the goals which we have envisioned ourselves to achieve thus far. The lives we have been ever so blessed to live have afforded us a great many opportunities but along with them come great limitations. In our everlasting quest to improve the lives of our people, some of the most central aspect of our own lives have been left in the shadow. But I ask you today, must it be so? The many times I have came across you, you have allows carried yourself as a Emperor of love and respect. Let is be the the beggar on the street of the lord of the manor, the dignity you have shown to all men is a true test of your own character. A character that has been proven to be of pure heart, soul and mind. Your majesty, I ask you to find a place in your life and hopefully your heart where I may share of love.

Sincerely,
HRH Princess Rebecca of Watt

(OOC: You may rp any contentions against a marriage with the emperor or your desire to wed him. Anything is acceptable.)

A low thudding noise could be heard across the field. Two young noblewomen stood glaring intently under the light of the sun at a target over one-hundred metres away. Each woman held a solid oaken long bow. Both held their weapons with some degree of skill, continually flinging arrows into the centre of the much wearied wooden piece. Already, the wood had split in millions of different manners, until it became as soft as silk. Rather fickle-looking silk at that.

"Excellent shot, Eleonore!" Evelyn cried as the arrow found its mark, "Shall I aspire to pierce the fletch?"

"If it suites you," Eleonore shrugged indifferently.

"Pardon me, milady," Evelyn chimed cheerily, "You seem rather mardy... What transpires at the Austrian Court?"

"You are rather perceptive, milady," Eleonore sneered sarcastically, "My "Lord" brother's schemes are, rather naturally, universally scattered throughout the Court... Noble gossip and other similarly mute matters."

"Rumours propogate you are to be bethrothed to some foreign lord..." Evelyn pressed good-naturedly, "My congratulations, milady. Are you fond of this notion?"

"Indeed," Eleonore lied, "My heart is enthralled to this peculiar "man" whom my eyes have yet to grace... I shall sing odes to my amour! Though, verily Evelyn, I must inquire. Are you privy to his majesty's late arrangements?"

"Why, no," Evelyn replied to the other girl's sadistic remark, "Please, do tell..."

"He has sworn to bethrothe himself unto a foreign lady of some esteem and prominense," Eleonore smile, she had her vengeance.

Evelyn's eyes grew rather large, and her lip trembled. "Pardon?" she demanded, before storming off without a reply. How could he betray her trust in such a manner. Alric had sworn his undying, which was understood to imply eternal, affections for her. Now, the coward had given into the pressures exerted by petty nobles who's only aspirations centred around power and authority. People who lacked morals and principles. Individuals who Evelyn gazed down at in scourn for their haughty eagreness to expand their power with no remorse or consciense. Was Alric their serf? Nein. Then, how could he justify his submission to their minuscule whims? Evelyn grapped her axe angrily, nearly splitting her own head open, as she rushed ferociously torwards the austere palace on the hill. Common citisens stared after the noblewoman, and some rushed from the streets as she passed. The whole while, Eleonore laughed softly, enjoying the scene.

Evelyn approached the gate and shot the guards a fearsome glance of apathetic disdain and scournfull loathing. "Pardon me, good sirs," she raged, barely controlling her tone, "Might I pass this hallowed portal?" The question was laced with an acidic passion and self-confidence. If either man hesitated or uttered the balefull word "no", death was a certainty. "Aye," the guard answered shakily, "What tis m'lady's bus'ness 'ere in ze palace?" "A rather sordid action," she replied sweetly. "An' 'ow is yer day?" the other guard chirped, hoping to subdue her anger. "Immaculately fair," she lied, passing through the gate and storming to the throne room. Alric had much to answer for. He had sworn his love, made her believe that some good might exist in the fickle natures of men, only to abbandon her for some foreign wench. Why? What answer would suffise?

Emperor Alric von Kaiser nodded as Adrian and Elias reported the latest transpirations from the very fringes of the Empire.

"Milord, it is my modest pleasure to inform you of the lingering progress of Defesian forces currently transgressing our sancrosant boarders," Adrian announced in a courteous tone, "Your majesty appears rather burdened... Might I inquire what lofty matter irks so heavily?"

"It is no expedient matter," Alric lied, forcing thoughts of Evelyn back, "Please, persist with your reports..."

"Ze Austr'ans 'ave endeavoured ze conquest o' East Germanas," Elias articulated, "Azough, zey 'ave encoun'red resistance o' some magnitude... Ze Grand Duke currently lead zeir forces in glor'ous battle." The boy appeared bored for a moment.

"Excellent," Alric smiled, "I admire the venturesome spirit of Austria, though I must confess their redundant bickering has tried dearly my patiense."

"On more cordial matters, milord," Adrian continued confidently, "A respecteable quantity of letters implore the attention of your regal eyes." The knight bowed deeply, before producing the letters at perhaps the worst time imagineable time.

Evelyn ransacked the door in a show of unmitigated brutaliy and wrathe, before procedeing to the true offender. "Greetings, milord," she choked hoarsely, the tears already flowing, "Might I inquire the purpose of the parchments you clutch to your noble breast?" She permitted the battle-axe to crash into the floor, severing the wooded floor. "I demand some explanation," she threatened, " 'fore I am forced to regret..." After a pronounced moment of silense, Evelyn shrieked, "Speak ye' cowardly dastard!"

"Evelyn..." Alric murmured tragically, "It was never my intention... I swear, by the gods, I never meant for..."

"Silense!" she bellowed, jumping torwards the throne, "Are you some serf?! Coward! Insolent bugger! Dastard! Wretch! Lout! Black-heart! Traitour! Montefar!"

"Milady," Adrian pleaded calmly, "I must insist that such vulgar profanity is unbecoming of so esteemed a noble..."

"Shut it, Adrian!" Evelyn snarled, tossing the axe in his direction, "Let 'his majesty' justify 'imself!"

"Evelyn, I-" Alric began.

"You, what?" Evelyn taunted, "You thought that perhaps it might be in good repute to abbandon me for some foreign wench at the behest of some petty barons?!"

"Nein," Alric answered, "The Grand Duke von Austria and Prince von Prussia exerted rather pronounced force-"

"You bent," she accused, "When did you transform into a coward, Alric? I-I trusted you, and..." Evelyn hesitated, unable to utter the words.

"My apologies," Alric sighed pitifully, "I must confer my apologies..."

"Shall never suffise..." Evelyn wept, "I t-trusted in you... Thought you something sweet, seemly, pure... My innocense, my naivete, soiled, broken... I was a rather ignorant child..."

"Nein," Alric attempted, "I was wrong to encourage you in such a manner. The fault is mine..."

"Indeed!" Evelyn exclaimed in a regal manner, "I shall endeavour no more... My breath grows transient, my blood thin... Might I request a leave, 'milord'?"

"Aye," Alric replied, knowing that he was deeply at fault.

Evelyn walked in a stately manner from the palace, stopping merely to retrieve her axe. She had been spitefully betrayed, abused, broken... The rumours would begin immediately she assumed. Hapless noblewomen whispering about her fidelity, purity, and character. The thought of such revulsion and arrogance, brought a haughty, scournfull smirk to her face. She ought to gut the lot of them, beginning with the Emperor. Then, she realised she still loved him, and the pain crushed her. Tears fled from their buttresses in her tear ducts, staining her face with bitterness. Evelyn hid her face, no noble would see her weep. However, she did wonder how she would continue. Exile? Death? Reclusion? The horrid possibilities shifted in her mind.

"Whom will ye' wed, majesty?" Elias finally asked.

"I am not quite certain," Alric replied, "The most powerfull most like, I have no favour with the gods of love at current."

"On the contrary," Adrian muttered wryly, "I do believe them fickle and callous to the endeavours of both male and female alike...

"Will ye' decide now?" Elias inquired.

"I shall await the lingering maidens, before my choice is made affirmitavely," Alric replied. He would weep later for the loss of his former lover, and the one he had betrayed. The scourn he had felt from her glance had burrowed like a consuming inferno to the centre of his soul. The pain was unbearable, the pressure asserted by those fearsome eyes undeniable. The worst part was that Alric was rather certain the fire had consumed his heart. He was a mere husk. They both were.

Frankfurt, Saxony Silvia

"A rather fair variety!" Sir Albert Loewe cried, tossing his hands into the air.

"Hm..." Lady Carina Koertig sighed softly, "What is that, Albert?"

"My dear brother is engrossed by the beauty of his majesty's potential brides," Sir Siegfried Loewe chimed cynically.

"I see..." Carina replied, blushing softly, "Is that right, Albert?"

"Aye," Albert declared haughtily, "Though, I shall practise a degree of restraint..."

"Comparable to whom," Siegfried jested, "Montague. I find it rather dubious that an Epicurean would resolve to collapse into serenity."

"He does raise a valid point, Albert," Carina giggled, "You are rather unfaithfull."

"I am so faithfull!" Albert protested, "Faithfull to my own pleasure!"

"You had best no hear let Elisabeth hear you carrying on in such a manner," Carina warned.

"I am quite certain that the whole Court has indulged his ramblings," Siegfried stated matter-of-factly.

"Lisa? By God, she would castrate me!" Albert shivered, "Perhaps, I had best silense my lustrious behaviour."

"Methinks it is more a lustfull demeanour," Siegfried countered.

"Say you, oh poet!" Albert taunted him jokingly, "Cries you, oh philosopher! Are not you afflicted by the most horrid lust of all?"

"Indeed," Siegfried nodded, "The lust of knowledge, the desire of being. However, your lust for living is rather hearty."

"Shall we procede?" Carina asked, "The Emperor is rather weary..."

"Aye!" Albert cried, lurching into the throne-room.

Emperor Alric von Kaiser jerked his head away from the arm of his throne, and glanced casually over the assembled party. At his side, Sir Elias Frieditch, The Baron von Friedenburg, stood at perfect attention. Immediately before him, the ginger-haired and rather rowdy Sir Albert Loewe had just sauntered into the room. Slightly behin him, two more individuals walked with more care. Lady Carina Koertig, The Baroness von Cologne, and Sir Siegfried (or 'Saleh' as he was called in Saladin) Loewe, The Viscount von Surana. The nobles seemed as though they were here on business.

"Hail!" Alric greeted them warmly, "Albert, Carina, Siegfried. What tidings bring you hither?"

"Fortunate ones," Albert answer laconically.

"Of what nature?" Alric pressed him.

"Amourous propensity," Siegfried answer.

"Indeed," Carina added shyly, "These letters are sent from the foreign lands."

"Whom will ye' wed?" Albert inquired in a rough Old Silvian accent, as he lended the emperor the letters.

Alric shifted through the documents, fighting to restrain the tears which threatened to surge forth with each new word. They were Princess Isabella of Izzyshipper, Princess Rebecca Stalder of Watt, and Princess Grace Rose Bone of Spartinth. None of them was in the least comparable to Evelyn or even Adale he realised, he would never feel any true affections for the poor women who so eagrely rose to wed him. It was not a matter of their failings, but of his own. His heart had simply hardened. Alric had tasted the sweet delicacy of romance, and had lost forever its honeyed flavour. None the less, marriage was an expediency. The Empire needed heirs and alliances, thus marriage must be undertaken. He decided to follow the advice of his nobles, and choose a bride from amongst a nation with already strong relations and some degree of power...

"Send an exquisite declaration to the King of Bardust," Alric spat bitterly, loathing himself for condemning his future bride to such a wretched fate, "I-I shall wed Princess Grace Rose Bone..."

The nobles saw the emperor's demeanour, and not even Albert could muster a snide comment. It was common knowledge that Frederick and Ferdinand had arranged this entire ordeal. If the emperor married a woman with close links to the throne of a powerfull kingdom, they would benefit. They departed morosely to fullfill his orders, hoping desperately that happiness might resumes its reign in their liege's heart following the wedding. Siegfried took the liberties of crafting the letter in a typically sophisticated fashion, though he opted for a certain briefness.

My dearest lady,

I shall both proffer my sincere elation and congratulations to you and extend my gratitude to your cordial acceptance of our proposal to arrange a marriage between yourself and His Imperial Majesty, By the Grace of the Gods, Emperor Alric von Kaiser, Sovereign of Saxony Silvia. In all expediencies, I shall henceforth lend you my hallowed sabre and possessed strength as an austere retainer. I wish thee well, and may God bulster thy soul.

Sir Siegfried Loewe

Silvarus

The typically plain hall of the Imperial Palace had been adorned in flowers of various colours, particularly amourous reds and pure whites. The building appeared, for the first time, lavish and extravagant. Despite this, it retained a humble quality. Regardless of its simplistic complexity, the hall was a beautifull fantasy, brilliant in the dream-like heat of the mid-summer. Outside along the roads, golden crops gleamed with the fading sunlight and the forests appeared too green for reality. The constructed world, and indeed his nightmare, was seemly.

"How soon might we expect her ladyship?" Alric inquired morosely.

"Time is savoured by the minute, milord," Adrian replied.

"Marriage revels in more cheery moments!" Albert chuckled.

"Quite horrid," Siegfried remarked, "I do protest your ailing humour, dear brother."

"I-I must concur," Carina nodded, blushing deeply.

"Truely, Cari," Albert teased, "My apologies, then."

"T-thank y-you," Carina sputtered, turning even redder.

"A vulgar gentleman," Siegfried observed, "I do insist that your behaviour conform to a more courtly standard once her highness arrives."

"Courtly!" Albert exclaimed, "Why, courtly indeed!"

"Might I eschew this engagement," Alric muttered quickly, regret in his eyes.

"Nein, milord," Sir Salazar Dracona stated with all the authority of an executioner, "This union is expedient to the strength of the Empire."

"Pardon me, Lord Dracona," Adrian chirped politely, though some irritation drifted into his venure, "I must protest your irking of his majesty."

"Irking," Salazar growled, offense in his voice, "Thou vulgar child! Thou horrid knave! Dost thou accuse me of such atrocity, of such audacity! I am dearly tempted to smite thee..."

"Silense!" Alric roared, "Your petty squabbles irk me to no end!"

"My dearest apologies, milord," Adrian bowed.

"Indeed," Salazar nodded.

"What orders do you have, milord," Albert asked.

"Albert, Carina, woulld you mind meeting her ladyship as she enters the Empire?" Alric asked.

"Nein," Albert responded joyfully.

"Never..." Carina agreed.

"Excellent," Alric nodded, "Adrian might you send a dispatch to the Austrians, and Salazar, one to the Prussians?"

"At your disposition," Adrian saluted.

"With all due expediency," Salazar saluted.

The nobles rushed quickly from the room, leaving their lord to reflect on his rather desparate state. Their affairs would be carried out with uptmost efficiency. By the time Princess Grace Rose Bone arrived, she would be well-met and exquisitely greeted. Alric felt an apathetic pity for the poor maiden, but attempted to obscure his feelings behind two cold, frozen, unfeeling, blue eyes. He knew love remained a scant possibility, regal love rarely existed. It was the by-product of the oppressed women of countless other nations, women forced to admit undying love to strange men for the purposes of power. Alric laughed once, one scournfull chortle, then he wept.

The Princess-in-waiting was sitting in her jet when a servant came in and gave her a phone. "Hello? Hello Uncle Charles. Yes, I am on my way right now. I know, this is a large responcibility and I am representing all of Spartinth. Yes Uncle, I will. Love you too." She hung up. They would be landing soon and she woulds oon be the Empress of Saxony Silvia. The plane touched down and she got out. She was wearing a long pink dress with a silver tiara and elbow length white gloves. She got into her limo, which drove her to the palace.

As the princess disembarked from her method of transportation, she was greeted by two nobles. One was a rather shy looking girl, no older than twenty. Long dark hair blew softly in the wind, emitting a soft, lovely fragrance. Two tender brown eyes passed over the princess. The girl smiled softly, but reservedly. The other noble was a man of about twenty as well. He wore flambuoyant red hair, dancing eyes, and a rather humourous smile. The second noble lept foward eagrely. He bowed in a courtly manner, and placed his lips on her hand.

"I am Albert Loewe," he introduced himself, "I am charmed to make you acquaitance, your majesty. Simply charmed..."

"I-I am Carina Koertig," the girl muttered shyly, "Baroness von Cologne..."

"No need for such reservedness, Cari!" Albert cried, "Shall I kiss her majesty's lovely hands for you, as well."

"No roguishness," Carina warned, "Sir Dracona is in a rather horrid mood, and not eagre to tolerate such rowdy behaviour..."

"Then might I befoul your own lovely hands, milady?" Albert asked jokingly.

"I-I," Cari blushed slightly, "W-we must transport her majesty to the palace..."

"Oh! I nearly forgot! He will have my bloody head!" Albert turned and smiled coyly, "Please, forgive my prior baseness, your majesty. I see no need to make utterance of this to his majesty... Right?"

"Indeed," Albert laughed, "Thanks, by the way."

"Albert..." Carina mumbled, "I do believe you have frightened her majesty with your roguish mannerisms."

"Oh, it would appear that you are quite correct, Cari," Albert said looking apologetic, "No need to worry, your majesty. While I may well be knavish, I am quite the gentleman."

"I wonder how Sieg would fare on such a scale then..." Carina giggled, "If you are a gentleman, he must be Christ."

"Enough of that," Albert laughed, "The emperor is a kind-hearted and noble man, though he is loathe to-"

A figure approached the party with a degree of haste. He was a relatively young man, with a regal demeanour and a lanky form. A dark blue military uniform bedecked with medals clothed him relatively lavishly. A powdered whig hid the visages of his true hair, and it seemed all the more appropriate. A dangerous looking sabre hung idlely by his side, but he seemed rather calm. "Wilhelm," Albert explained to Grace, "Princeling of Prussia..."

"Pardon me, ladies and gentleman," the figure stated with authority, "Might I inquire the pleasure of your names?"

"I do believe we have met before..." Albert replied, "Military School in Berlin, was it? I am more than willing to answer your intial question, though I must inform you of the regality of our proccession..."

"My apologies, your majesty," Wilhelm nodded, finally notising Grace, "I am Wilhelm Adler, Heir to the Principality of Prussia. It is an exquisite honour to greet your majesty."

"How do matters fare in Prussia?" Albert inquired.

"Rather fairly," Wilhelm responded, "Sir Arthur Norrington governs the County of Victoire efficiently and Sir Salazar Dracona has recently written several statures to increase the influense of the Imperial Commonwealth. Furthermore, his highness, Prince Frederick Adler, has moblisied the army for what may be another campaign."

"Ah, Siegfried governs Surana," Albert noted, "Do send him my regards upon your next visit."

"I shall do so," Wilhelm assented.

"W-who are y-you planning on f-fighting," Carina whispered feebly.

"I am privy to your loathing of violense, milady," Wilhelm replied, "However, the increasing instability and barbarity of Royal Calathonia may well warrant attention. Our forces seek their prey carefully."

"Might such a campaign warrant another officer?" Albert asked cheekily.

"You are more than welcome to accompany our venture," Wilhelm smiled, "However, I do believe we are neglecting her majesty..."

"Oh, quite right!" Albert cried, "Shall we procede to the palace?"

"You are trembling, milady," Albert noted, "Please, do inform me of your qualms..."

"Might we assist?" Carina offered hesitantly.

"As a matter of principle, we must indulge her majesty's whims," Wilhelm recited, remembering Sir Dracona's promptings, "May we be of service, your majesty?"

"Milady, you should not hide your emotions," Carina murmured tragically, "I-I know..."

"Cari, it is impolite to scold sovereigns," Albert chortled, "Milady, whatever is the matter? I am charged to attend to all of your desires and qualms until you greet his majesty. Please, I implore you to enlighten me."

"I am of the same opinion as Sir Albert Loewe and Lady Carina Koertig," Wilhelm remarked, "I shall reaffirm my support for your majesty in all matters: be they political or otherwise."

"Damn it I'm fine!" Grace screamed "I would like to meet my husband, now. If you hold me up any longer I will call my Uncle, the King of Spartinth, and have you three brought to International Court for holding a royal against her will." To show she really would she took her phone ou tof her pocket.

"All right, all right, relax," Albert replied calmly, "It seems our future empress is a rather fiery figure..."

"Albert... she seems rather serious..." Carina muttered meekly, near a faint, "Sh-shall we procede?"

"Indeed," Albert laughed, "This way, your majesty."

Wilhelm glared at Grace's back, a slight furrow in his brow and a frown upon his face. Such outbursts were not befitting of a noble. While Wilhelm did not particularly care for the politics of courts outside of Prussia, Sir Dracona (the emperor's cousin) most certainly did. If such emotional out-pourings became common place in Court, it might due to test her highness's mental stability. After all, such an anxious individual could prove a liability in politics. However, Alric seemed mostly apathetic about the matter, still refusing to accept the loss of his former lovers. The entire situation was unsavoury...

The party reached the palace doors and was promptly searched by the guards, before entry was guaranteed. The entire proccession carried weapons, excluding possibly Grace. After all, Silvian tradition demanded such practises. Albert spoke briefly of sordid subjects with a number of his comrades, while Carina looked rather nervous and Wilhelm glared sternly. Finally, they entered the beautifully austere halls of the palace.

"Oh, Albert," Carina sighed, "Such jokes are rather unbefit-"

"I know, I know," Albert replied, "Though, court is tiring at times."

"I shall reserve my own opinions on the matter," Wilhelm replied, "We must make haste, lest we encounter more of our number and engage them in conversation. They are most certainly eagre to greet her majesty..."

"Yes, let us procede. Carina dear, please to calm down. It was nothing more then a joke. Why would the Emperor ever want to marry someone who got three of this people into international prison?"

Spartinth wrote:"Yes, let us procede. Carina dear, please to calm down. It was nothing more then a joke. Why would the Emperor ever want to marry someone who got three of this people into international prison?"

"M-my apologies, majesty," Carina whispered softly, "I was merely incensed by good Albert's inmodest declarations..."

"I would rather savour prison," Albert laughed, "After all, with the rogue I am it is indeed stunning that I have yet to witness the world through chains and bars... So long as Demetrius isn't present."

"You do know he loathes such jests," Carina giggled softly, "Is that he whom I seen encroaching?"

"Bloody hell!" Albert barked, "Please, Demi, I-I did-"

A dark figure approached the small group. Behind it two other figures marched sternly forwards. As they came into sight, a man could be identified. However, an overwhelming sense of heartlessness and cruelty could be felt pouring from the esteemed gentlemen, a noble but stern individual. He wore no facial expressions upon his luridly pale face. Two black, falcon eyes glared cooly from his skull, assessing the world without pleasure. His dark hair was adorned lavishly, but appeared austere. Verily, his dark demeanour caused the entire party to hush. A black uniform hung regally from his frame.

"Good morrow, lords and ladies," the man greeted them, in a cool, gravelly voice.

"Good day," Albert replied weakly.

"Good day," Wilhelm returned rather more astutely, though with no apparent joy.

"G-good day, Count," Carina spoke slightly less undecisively than the rest, though with her usual sweetly anaemic tone.

"Lady Carina," the count began, "I am informed that her highness shall soon attend his majesty?"

"Aye," Carina nodded, "She already brightens the Empire's domain."

"Most assuredly," the man murmured, "I regret to inform my lords and ladies that the Guard must initiated a thorough examination of all persons seeking passage into the Palace."

"A fair proposition," Carina smiled.

"I shall submit to such procedures," Wilhelm choked finally, "At your whim, milord."

"Sir Bartholomew Bennington, The Count von Zurich..." Albert whispered shakedly to Grace, "He-"

The guards, all adorned in a similar uniform to the count's, glanced carefully at the movements and tensions of every noble. These soldiers were the most highly trained and respected of the Silvian army. So able were they, that simple emotions could serve as a cue to possible attacks. None the less, they did prod the nobles before them, and eventually Grace. Despite this, it was done in a civil manner befitting of nobility. The group soon passed through the doors and into the corridor which led to the Emperor's hall.
