What is the Cerberus Accord?
The Cerberus Accord is a treaty organization designed to provide for the political, military, and economic needs for its members nations. The Accord seeks to unite nations under a political goal of free trade and peace. The Accord provides for the common defense of members against imperialistic nations. The Accord allows for free-trade for all member nations, allowing for increased prosperity. The goal of the Accord is not the establishment of its 'will' upon the world, nor does it have imperialistic ambitions. The goal of the Accord is to allow member nations to live in peace, protected by each other and presenting a united front against the inherent chaos of the world.
OCCly the CA is a direct spiritual successor to the Fedala Accords. The FA was originally founded by The Macabees in order to create an alliance and OOC group that stood against the RPers of the day RPing to 'win', which caused unnecessary turbulence and provided a bad example for new players to follow. The FA consisted of some of the most notable and respect roleplayers in the game, including but not limited to, Questers, Sumer, Cravan, Lyras, Vetaka, Damirez, and Lamoni. In essence the OOC players believe in the idea of cooperative roleplay, recognizing RP is fundamentally a story and that it is impossible and unwise to try and dominate other players through IC means.
The alliance seeks to provide a positive image for both new and old roleplayer alike, while discarding the notion that the nation with the largest militaries or most alliances are good roleplayers. A good roleplay is defined by both his/her writing skill and their ability to cooperate with other players to create a good RP.
How to join?
Like our predecessor, the FA, one does not need to be "well-known" or a good writer to be accepted. One must only be willing to improve, be active (as RL allows), and to cooperate well with other players. Thus, we borrow our predecessors requirements for application;
- A well written application with the following;
- Two or more links to past (or current) role-plays.
- An out-of-character section (after the IC application) explaining where you believe your role-play can improve.
- What you’re looking for in the alliance (both IC and OOC).
- Agreement with the charter (see below).
- Optional (although preferred – even sent over TG to my account The Peoples Freedom): MSN or IRC.
Charter
Section I: The reduction of trade barriers at a expedient pace until full free trade with member nations is reached.
Section II: Upon entry, member nations agree to provide troops, equipment, money, and basing for the alliances Join Rapid Reaction Task Force as outlined in the Accord.
Section III: Nations agree to accept the authority of a security council which will be responsible for military actions of the alliance, the voting, methods, and privileges of which are outline in the Accord.
Section IV: The assembly of nations of the organization holds the right to amend any article of the charter and add or deduct sections based on voting guidelines outlined in the Accord.
Section V: The assembly of nations of the organization holds the right to amend any section of the accord and add or deduct sections based on the voting guidelines outlined in the Accord.
Section VI: Member nations agree to provide for the defense of member nations and to provide troops and monetary aid beyond which is required in the JRRTF as outlined in the Accord.
Section VII: Member nations may vote to boot a member based on the criteria established in the Accord.
