Karaka chuckled. "Dominated by Sith, destroying planets with superweapons. Oh yeah, friendly people. But, of course, they've totally changed after a few years in isolation. I do hope they're aware that millenia of autocratic government and genocidal tendencies tend not to fade away that quickly." The general sighed as he came up to his ship. It wasn't particularly large, as it was only a diplomatic shuttle (the actual space-travelling ships were, well, still in space) when he came across Volkova. Recognizing her from the conference, he walked towards her, extending his hand.

"So, you get kicked out for bringing up their past too?"

Glancing towards Karaka before turning to properly face him, she brought her gloved right hand out from behind her back and returned his handshake with a firm, but friendly grip. As she did this, she also shook her head slightly and replied with a friendly tone, “No, they did not ask me to leave; I chose to do so since I saw little benefit from this proposed alliance for my people.”

Returning her hand behind her back to retake a casual stance, she continued, “To be honest I know little of Laris’ people. Mine have only recently come out of a long period of self imposed isolation. I am Volkova by the way, I represent the Kilrany.”

Her tone then turned mildly curious, “And you?”

The General smiled. "Lord General Karaka Rackhamov of Derscon. A pleasure." He let go of her hand and glanced back at his shuttle.

"I doubt you will find much benefit in that alliance, especially headed with who it is, and made up with what it is. You're talking about a culture that descends from the same planet as the founder of the Galactic Empire. You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villiany. They claim that they've changed, but I don't buy it, not with their insistence that it be a top-down controlled military alliance. Personally, I prefer trade. I like trade, but no one wants to trade anymore. Only fight." He shrugged.

"Would you like to come with me to my ship? You can wait there, if you'd like. That's where we're heading." He turned, and chuckled. "Oops, how rude. Volkova, this is Ambassador Gerard Kessler of Jannath. Shall we head to the ship?"

My planet has not been attacked yet, it isn't even highlighted red. Although I do see a red dot where one of my planet's moons is highlighted. I must say that I will not take kindly to any incursion by this group calling themselves IRON on my people's territory. I will not look for a peaceful alternative if they fire upon any of my ships, even if it is a fighter. My people may only poses 1 large planet and 4 medium sized moons, but we are proud of what we have and will defend it till death. You cannot appease a group like this, you must act and act now or else they will win.

Lord Admiral, send out the 20th fleet to our moon. And then set the Imperial Defense forces to maximum. Also, alert all pirate forces on our planet, they always like a good fight.

I shall stay for now, but if a war breaks out I will need to leave.
Government of Leavatia:

Leavatia is an absolute monarchy. The Empress has total control over everything in the country, including businesses (only in times of emergency). Then there is an Overseers Council with 2 Imperial Overseers from each state (13 states) in the country. The Imperial Overseers are elected every 2 years. Although they are suppose to be the people voice in the government, they are merely her majesties puppets who have very little power in the government.

I'm the minister of foreign affairs, actually. Those chucklefuck hippies in the conference didn't know who the hell they were talking to." said Kessler as he took another puff from the cigar and extended his hand to Volkova.

"Trade is nice and all, but it's pretty meaningless if you can't defend your own assets. This attempted power grab by the so called republic and the shenanigans of IRON do little more than reinforce that fact. I'm probably going to have to speak with the Havenites and Aumanii about expanding Hermes and reinforce our ability to resist hostile elements if we're going to be able to keep trading with anyone."

Hiding any reaction to his identity behind a hint of a smile, she called upon her knowledge of Kilrany’s old empire to properly greet him; bowing slightly at her shoulders while adding in her friendly tone, “It is my pleasure as well Lord General Rackhamov.”

Intending to briefly turn towards Kessler, she was about to repeat the bow and greet him under the title of ambassador when he identified himself and offered a handshake instead. Quickly shifting her hand out from behind her back, she returned it as she had with Karaka before adding, “Then friendly greetings to you in kind Minister Kessler.”

Turning her head then back to look upon the Lord General, she addressed him again, “Then it appears we are of like mind. I had hoped this conference would help to establish relations with others we had not yet met, and allow the building of some trade agreements. We are always looking for new technologies and luxury goods for our people; even new foods for them to sample.”

Pausing in apparent consideration of his offer, she continued a moment later, “Though my escort’s shuttle is on its way, it can be turned back, so I see no reason to decline, please, lead on,” she gestured slightly with her right hand to emphasize before returning it behind her back.

Lord General Rackhamov raised an eyebrow and chuckled. "My apologies. I'm usually stuck investigating shit for the military, so I don't read the foreign news much." The three walked back to his private shuttle and boarded.

***Space***

Three Dersconi ships - a Vanaheim-class battlecruiser converted to accomodate diplomatic missions and two escorts - sat quietly above the planet as the small shuttle docked with the HMS Freyr, and the three delegates left the small shuttle to be met by Karaka's Chief of Staff, who led them to a small lounge in an observation tower, complete with comfortable seating arrangements, a billiard table, dart board, and a fully stocked bar. The ventallation was as such that smoking could be done without any of the other guests having to take in the second-hand smoke.

"Security is fine, yes," Karaka started, continuing their conversation from earlier. "But a trade alliance with security is far different than an authoritarian military alliance." He glanced back at his shuttle, and to the guards, before turning to Kessler. "Actually, I've been wanting to talk to you about Hermes."

Fearing his question was being ignored, and that the topic
of discussion had drifted off, Jason resubmitted his question:

Question:

From what we can read in the information available to us, you represent a world from another Galaxy. Tell me, what issues could your galaxy possibly have in common with our own, here in what we call the Milky Way? Can we expect to see unending wars and power struggles as you had in your so-called Galactic Empire? How will this prevent such atrocities from happening again in our own galaxy?

Thank you,
Sen. Jason Capsule,
Raysia

Crystalline folded her arms. She had no plans of joining any military alliance, as anyone who attempted to attack or annex Antemyst, no matter how strong or technologically advanced they were, would simply be laughed at. Antemyst was little more than a tiny atoll, with few resources and few residents. And in any case, she had enough allies and region mates to aid her if- if- she ever needed it.

But her curiosity had been piqued, so she decided to remain there just a while longer to see what would come of it all. My, if these humans and humanoids weren't entertaining!

well Hui, Samuel said, though his neural link to one of the avatars standing next to him, this is certainly interesting timing and sequence of events, First an invitation to a conference for first contact and negotiations, then the announcement of a security council, and suddenly news of someone claiming large areas of the galaxy, I can't see this ending well, if history is anything to go by.

No Samuel, Hui responded, historical president of situations such as this do not bode well for the outcomes, its quite likely that numerous people will die in pointless conflict, internal infighting will result and in the end bring down one side or the other possibly both. As someone said a long time in the past "plus ça change" (the more things change, the more they stay the same).

I have to agree, Manu the second avatar said, I can't see this going well either, with numerous deaths on both sides, I would expect, and the small parties stuck in the middle are likely to come off particularly badly. We should see what information we can discover on this situation, even if just for historical purposes, the odds of coincidence of these events seems a little low to me and the possibility of someone engineering the situation should be investigated, someone is always out to profit from situations like this.

The Imperial Vanguard delegation had been mostly watching and listening carefully until this time. Mr. Yates attempted to make comment or pose a question on more than one occasion but each time Captain Flemming pulled him back into his chair, slapped his hand away from the terminal or instructed him to keep quiet.
The entire conference was not something the Vanguard would have generally participated in. While sometimes interested in interacting with new species for the sake of trade opportunities and other mutual concerns, far reaching alliances and treaties were not something they concerned themselves with.

"I've heard enough, we're out of here." the Captain simply said to his contingent as he stood up, dragging Yates to his feet. The KOP followed suit and gently helped Miss Di Francesco out of her seat and then joined Captain and Diplomat as they briskly walked back to the shuttle craft. A secure signal was sent to the ship at this time and they began making all preparations for getting underway. They quickly boarded the shuttle and began making their way into orbit.

"Do you think this IRON or whatever could threaten our space? Miss Di Francesco asked her seatmate as the shuttle began approaching the Redemption
"I doubt they could even find our territory let alone penetrate it, we are quite isolated out there." the KOP replied confidently.

"We won't have to worry about IRON, they won't bother us, its this Inter-Galactic Security Council we will be watching out for." Captain Flemming interjected, grimly.

As they landed on board the ship and exited the shuttle, the XO met with the Captain, bringing him a report.
"How did the intelligence gathering go while I was gone?" the Captain asked.
"Very good sir, We were able to get a good long range scan on all of the ships in orbit, from every race, our analyst will be busy for months!" the XO replied as they both returned to the bridge.

Once the command staff was back on the bridge, the Redemption made its way to the nearest Vangaurd outpost at normal cruising speed, and closed the log on this 'Diplomatic mission'.

Kirruac had been listening to the conference for a good while, The tawny colored anthro feline simply sipping from a small flask as he listened to the proceedings. Having kept to himself during the pre-conference shin-dig. He yawned a bit, stretching his face a bit in the process with a gaping feline yawn before taking another sip from his flask. He sighed as he watched the discussion degrade slowly. He had no intention of saying much of anything. He was here to make a social appearance on behalf of the Talonian people. He had noticed the terran president earlier. He had to resist the urge of every fiber of his body not to kill the man and his aid. It made his blood boil knowing that the murderous creature was in the same room, let alone the same planet. He sighed, reciting a mantra in his head trying to calm his mind.

He drew out a long slim cigarette from a case in his robes. He didnt much trust anything that was being said, nor did he feel like he had any valid input at the time. He simply lit his cigarette and sat back, continuing to listen to the debate that was going on around him.

President Santiago made his way back to the table he smiled and bowed to the delegates as he heard applause from within the group, he idly made his way to sit next to the two CC delegates in the room. He folded his hands upon the table Kate and Richard where on the other end of the table talking amongst themselves they noticed the rudeness of some delegates not giving any one a chance at all and just walking out.

Santiago just shrugged and said to one of the CC delegates.

“You know if they weren’t going to stay why did they come in the first place? One has to wonder about that.”

Richard just smirked at the comment he had heard from across the table his own eyes locked on to the other delegations he waved a hand nonchalantly to Santiago as the he adjusted his suit , signifying not to worry about the ones he thought selfish.
Sagen noted the Red talon’s delegate and whispered a bit.

“Speaking of enlightened self interest”

He motioned his head slightly, Santiago and Kate looked, and they realized this might be a fun time now that one of their enemies was around in this place.

What was iffy to the Terrans was the obvious attempt by these random delegations to derail the conference, it was bad enough they had IRON to deal with mused Sagen in his mind. But now we have people trying to eliminate a way of solving problems.

Santiago was also thinking on how to deal with the situation, he was going to name Richard to head the envoy to meet with IRON.
The TA would not pay tolls to reach its outer most colonies that it had taken during the third and final steppe wars. Those Eight systems mused Santiago in his mind where Terran Territory and would not be subjected to foreign rule.

Santiago finally responded about a moment later to Sagen regarding the comment on the Red talons delegate.

“Come now behave they might want to make peace either way don’t start trouble..”

Sagen bowed and responded.

“Mr. President it is not my business to cause international incidents.”

This was all idle and friendly banter of course and Santiago just smiled leaning back upon his chair looking up at the podium for the next speaker.
