New Expensive Buildings Built In Sorgan!

Postby Sorgan » Sun Jul 12, 2009 9:38 am

Taken from Sorgan News
---------------------------------------------
This morning at 10:00 am it was the presidents birthday. He declared to spend billions of dollars on new buildings on the outlying islands of Sorgan. He has said that this city will be one of the more luxurious ones . Houses WILL be expensive but taxes on the inhabitants of the island will be extremely low (20%). Many are questioning the president on how he got all this money and where. The President simply said what NO nation leader should ever say "From the tax payers of course!". Most citizens are appalled others excited. The architecture will be grand and modern different from most towns in sorgan. Sorgan is extremely low on Resources so the president will probably be calling o pon outside help. The islands that the cities are being built on where currently..."Acquired" by sorgan. The Natives are trying to push out builders but so far the natives have been either Arrested or killed by large objects that "Fell" on "Accident". The town will be a military Head quarters and Scientific depot for sorgan. Another question has hit the public "Why are you building this?". The president commented "Because it is a beautiful place and who wouldn't want to live/work here? That's the problem we need more tourism. Then we will become a great nation through popularity and later on..known for other things!". Pictures are included and will be shown after the broadcast. In other news....

After skimming over a newspaper report regarding new architectural achievements in Sorgan, which included color photographs, renowned Jimani poetaster Frederick Sohelio had this to say:

"Those buildings are so ugly,
I can't believe they'd build them.
The last two lines are here so
that this can be a quatrain."

It was a hot day. When wasn’t it hot in Ashishim, the desert island city that had recently declared its independence from Racaw. The sun beat down on an apartment in the lower east side. Lufti Anas was watching football on a 16 inch TV, drinking a soda. His roommate, Fuad, burst into the room.

“Look at this!” exclaimed Fuad. He brought in a newspaper into the apartment. On the cover were several strange looking buildings.

“It is the Sorganian president’s birthday,” Fuad explained, “and he is constructing these.”

Lufti took a closer look. The Ashishimites were no friends of Sorgan, and their (in their eyes) blasphemous, despotic president. Lufti happened to be an organizer in Ashalla Hishim, the Ashishimite black ops organization.

“My superiors have probably heard of this. It may be what we have been waiting for. Call Fareed. See what he has to say. I will get things… ready.” Lufti’s mind raced as he thought of a way to get revenge on the Sorganians.

Update.
--------------------------------------------------
The Sorgan Government has decided to add an industry to this long line of buildings. The President said "This industry will bring our Unemployment rates back down from 26%! Exciting indeed, these factories and offices will have a unique work environment that is Clean,Accessible,And Rounded. This will bring up Productivity and give the unemployed some where to work. Also, For citizens that work on the islands will have a free shuttle pass everyday for going to work and home. Visitors and Vacationers to the islands will have to pay.". The president also is having trouble with the Ashishimian government. The president said "They will not threaten our nation if they are smart. They may cut off trade routes but we don't rely on their trading. They still might destroy these buildings and that is why we pass a new legislation tomorrow saying.... All international wonders (Revolutionary Skyscrapers, and others) will be HEAVILY guarded by anti-air canons and Navy blockades so that we don't have a repeat of.. Fort Franks."

Fuad was nervous. He had every right to be, as what he was trying to do was very risky, and that was an understatement. Fuad and Lufti managed to catch a small plane to a smaller Sorganian island, and then board a shuttle boat that took them to a larger island. As they approached the city, the Sea Needle stood out above the rest of the buildings.

“You sure Fareed got the stuff?” Fuad asked.

“Don’t worry, he has never let us down yet,” Lufti replied.

Once ashore, they were able to blend in with the poor people on the island, as many of the inhabitants were unemployed and desolate. They walked through the streets, noticing the poor condition of this area of the island. A small man with a curly beard approached them.

“I have a place for you to stay. Would you like to see it now?” asked the man.

“No, lets enjoy the afternoon,” replied Lufti, knowing that this was the correct response. The short man was an informer for Ashalla Hishim whose name escaped Lufti for the moment.

They proceeded down an alley. The short man knocked on a door three times, and it opened.

“Lufti, and Fuad, my friends, come in, I have much to tell you. Have you met our friend Nasser? He blew up the diamond mine in Racaw.”

“Fareed, old friend, it is a pleasure.” The newcomers looked around the room, for that was all it was. Four cots lay in one corner, and another contained a small kitchen area with a small table and chairs. The other half of the room held a plethora of satchel charges and Uzis.

Fareed beckoned them over. “Come, lets talk turkey…”

"Your morning papers, sir," the aide said, dropping a stack of newspapers on to the Dictator's desk.

"Thank you, Anne. Damn, your ass looks hot today." Dictator Stuart House slapped the aide on the bum. She giggled and left.

When House turned around, the Cardinal Official was sitting on the papers, looking far more cheery than usual.

"Card..."House groaned. "You didn't!"

"I'm sorry," the Cardinal pleaded. "It called to me."

"Get up," House demanded, and the Cardinal went back to his seat at the window.

House picked up the top paper delicately. The top page was from a Sorgan newspaper, and contained gorgeous color photos of some shiny, glassy buildings they had recently constructed. Unfortunately, the main picture was now covered in a slimy white substance.

"Bleccch," House said, tossing the paper into the trash bin. "What was that, before you shiied all over it?"

"Pretty buildings," the Cardinal Official replied. "We should go visit them sometime."

"Only if you promise not to poop on the glass," House warned.

"I promise," the Cardinal replied, a twisted evil look on his face, his eyes glazed over in dreamy anticipation.

"Damn, that thing is tall."

Lufti and Fuad were standing outside of the Sea Needle. The giant spire rose over five hundred feet into the air, and was completely covered with glass. Its image was reflected by the tropical waters that were just down the block from the tower.

The two men walked several blocks to a waterfront kayak rental shop. Tourism was a big industry in this area of Sorgan, and kayaks offered an excellent way for vacationers to experience the water without getting wet. For the Ashalla Hishim agents, it was an excellent mode of transportation.

They rented two kayaks, both made for two people. They began travelling up the shore, back to the poorer area of Sorgan. They found the small drainage cannal that Fareed had showed them earlier, and paddled up it a short distance. Fareed was waiting for them with three Uzis and two backpacks full of satchel charges.

"Everythin okay, Fareed?"

"God willing, we haven't been discovered. Help me get these packs into the boats."

The men got into the kayaks, and set off for the Sea Needle.

Nazism on the way?!?
-----------------------------------
The government has found that the economy is in a terrible phase and the president has only found one solution...Nazism. "It worked for the others why not for Sorgan?"Said Sorgan born fascist Greg Foreman. Protesters for the Nazi phase are already out side of city hall chanting "Cleanse the Impure!". What lies in Sorgan's future besides much wealth and death? We got a word from the president who said "This was never my idea! It's outrageous! But, if we don't give the growing crowds their way we will be left in Anarchy, Nazism over Anarchy i guesses.". Said the president not for the idea at all. The Fascist Forces named "Citizen Protectors" are only DRIVEING out people who aren't full sorgan born that live in Sorgan. We got a word with the leader of the uprising "We will drive them out unless they are doings something good for sorgan! Like a CEO or Munitions Factory worker or Scientist or Biologist ect ect ect. We will drive out all who harm Sorgan!"The protesters have changed in flurry of different colors and different ideas from Pro-Nazi to Pro-Communist to Pro-Abortion and Pro-Homosexual!

Lufti, Fuad, and Fareed were standing outside of the Sea Needle once again, with backpacks in tow. The securtiy around the building was tight, but the Ashalla Hishim agents thought they had a way around it.

"What happened to Nasser?" Fuad asked.

"He'll do it, just wait," assured Fareed. The three were watching the water, where a ferry was just leaving the dock.

Suddenly, the rear part of the boat exploded. People were screaming as the ferry was engulfed in flames, sending the passengers in the front of the boat diving for safety, Nasser among them. He would swim to shore, probably to be picked up for questioning. The security guards in front of the tower ran out to see what was happening. The three men slipped inside as the guards called for backup, clearly distracted by the burning wreckage.

"God bless Nasser," whispered Fareed.

The men entered the lobby, where several receptionists sat behind a desk with worried looks on their faces. To the right was a large auditorium, the left had a cafe and Sorganian history room, and behind the desk were elevators and stairs.

"See you later, God willing," said Fareed, and he went towards the elevators. Lufti went to the bathroom, and Fuad went into the cafe for a drink. The only other occupant was the man behind the counter, as everyone else had gone outside to see what was happening.

----------------------------------

Fareed took the elevator to the bottom floor, where the essential systems for the building, such as plumbing, heating, and electricity, where controlled. He pushed through a door that said EMPLOYEES ONLY and found a man already in the room with his back turned to the door. He was tightening a pipe with a monkey wrench. When Fareed came in, he turned and saw that Fareed was not an employee.

"Excuse me, you shouldn't be down here."

"Sorry, I just need something real quick."

Fareed bent over and rummaged through his backpack. When he stood up, an Uzi was in his hand.

"Don't say anything, just turn around."

The man did as he was told. Fareed picked up the wrench from the ground and hit him on the head. The man crumpled, and Fareed dragged his body into a dark corner.

"Not like it will matter in a bit anyway," he muttered to himself.

Fareed found the electric box, and flipped the master switch off. The basement was instantly plunged into darkness. He cursed himself for forgetting to get out his flashlight, and rummaged through his bag some more to find it. He then cut all the wires leading in and out of the box, and armed a satchel charge before heading for the stairs, packing the wrench in his bag.

-----------------------------------------------

Fuad was enjoying a second coffee when the lights went out.

The man behind the counter was pissed. "Shit man, when they gonna figga out how to light dis damn place. Gonna have to light a fire soon." He left, with a string of curses following him.

"We'll give you your fire, you Sorganian bastard," spat Fuad, "At least now I don't have to kill you personally." He went behind the counter and opened all the gas nozzles, and the room began to fill up with fumes. He armed a satchel charge, and left the room, shutting the door behind him.

---------------------------------------------------

Lufti entered the men's bathroom. There was a man in a stall talking on a cell phone who didn't notice him come in. He removed a ceiling tile and put a charge in, and then set another charge in a maintenence closet next to the sink. He considered going into the women's bathroom, but that was more likely to be occupied, and more conspicuous. He headed back to the lobby.

----------------------------------------------------

The three men met up again in the lobby. They talked as they left the building.

"Everything go okay, Fareed?" asked Fuad anxiously.

"I had to knock out a janitor in the basement, and I threw some guy down the stairs who was complaining about the lights, but I think we are still good to go."

"Lets go then."

They went into the street, quickly blending in with the crowd that was gathering to witness the aftermath of the ferry accident. They ducked into an alley. Lufti pulled out his detonator...

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Nasser was being questioned by the Sorganian police, two blocks from the Sea Needle.

"I didn't see anything, sir."

"Then why did..... Holy shit!"

A massive blast shook the ground. The charges in the basement had detonated first, weakening the structure. Then the rest had fired. The entire west side of the building was blown out, and the structure began to topple. One can only imagine the terror that the Sorganians felt as the building fell, slowly at first, and then picking up speed as the sound of shattering glass and groaning steel pierced the evening air. It hit the ground with massive thud, crushing several buildings in the process. A massive dust cloud rose, which turned orange as it was lighted by the fire below.

Nasser seized the moment to escape, punching the cop in the head. He ran, following the crowd away from the ruins.

--Transmission to Sorgan--

With much respect the Republic of Galvone would ask your permission to send some of its top young engineers to study the masterclass buildings you are working on.

We feel that we can learn much from your bright minds in the engineering field.

Thank you for your time,
