For the past 20 years, a small region of Drvarska known as Falka caused much havoc and dispute amongst the population. After its occupation as result of the second Drvarskan civil war, the local populace brought up arms and formed the F.L.O. (Falkan Liberation Organisation). Drvarska, dependent on the region's resources for iron ore was not going to allow it fall into the hands of a rogue organisation. Two years ago, following a state election without permission of the Federal government declared independence and sealed off all Drvarskan trade, government officials and military. Declaring the new Republic of Falka, they seeked to improve defence and military infrastructure by importing arms and goods from foreign neutral nations. A naval blockade at the time would have sparked poverty and dispute from Drvarska's allies. Since the independence, civillians have begun to rebel in major cities sparking protests against Falka and claiming that it is just the Cold War over again. Radical FLO members have begun to carry out assassinations upon local military ranking officers, diplomats and government officials. Vladimir Orlov, a mighty leader of the great United Citizens Federation of Drvarska stood before an open map of the state of Falka layed out onto a large table, military advisors and the commander in chief surrounded him. Small figurines depicted his military forces stationed in various sectors were spaced around the boarders of Falka. A box nearby with trays among trays of figures stood ready to be placed. To his right, the commander in chief spoke up.
"Gentlemen, thank you for assembling on such short notice. The state of Falka has began to affect our economy, with global recession taking place we need as much resources as we can obtain to keep our civillians jobs and battle the growing unemployment rate. I propose a naval blockade, much to the dispute of foreign nations it is the only option to take. Once upon the call for help by the poverished people, we will launch a liberating invasion. Now, if we turn to the map in front of us..."
The advisors looked on as the CINC placed his hand near the Falka capital, Flamaski. He continued...
"With a population of approx. 74 million, they have massed an Army of 1,250,000. The majority of which are equipped with low grade weapons mainly stolen from our Eastern Sector inventory. However, the problem is we do not know what they have imported from the outside world as it has been done covertly but we know for sure there have been no purchases of nuclear, biological or chemical weapons. We are currently scouting using spy planes but the most we got are some photographs of foreign vehicles, some including tanks which will require some time to identify."
"Are our forces capable of invading?" asked the president.
"By all means, sir. However, we do require more reconnaisance work which will take as long to deploy the invading battle groups to their borders. I do suggest we deploy our West sector battle groups as they have been recently well re-equipped with the latest technology. We can use our Eastern battle groups as reserves. North battle groups are on stand by in case of a third party..."
"Very well, set to defcon two. Deploy two naval battle groups to blockade their trade routes. Get the West Land battle groups to their borders ASAP. Commander in Chief, I will leave the deployments to you. There is a lot of paper work I need to do now."
"Yes, sir!"
The President left the premises with his guards to retire to his office where he began his paper work and soon public announcement. The CINC remained in the war room now rushing around with operators managing radar equipment and communications. Two operators began placing new battle groups and divisions on the map. The two Battle fleets began to operate and deploy to Falka's trade routes.
