Lamonian Foreign Minister Gerald Smythe was finishing with the preparations for the upcoming Ixanian visit to Lamoni. The relationship between Lamoni and Ixania was an important one, full of history. This was one of the oldest friendly diplomatic relationships in Lamonian history, and both sides held a very high opinion of the other.
Space had been prepared for the arriving Ixanians at Government AFB, and everyone was just waiting for the final confirmation from Ixania that they were on their way. As per protocol, Lamonian troops were prowling the perimeter of the base, their AY144 assault rifles held at the ready. Terrorist attacks were not likely, but they had to be prepared for anything. President Stinson's presidential helicopter was ready to ferry the President over, but Stinson was currently attempting to get a handle on the never ending stream of paper work that his position required. He sometimes thought that it was one reason why the government couldn't be more flexible, they had too damn much paperwork to deal with! One of the things that the President had done to help improve the Lamonian economy was to cut down on the number of politicians, but the paperwork level had never gone down.
Either way, it was all up to the Ixanians at this point.
