Postby Fictions » Thu May 14, 2009 8:47 am

(OOC: Oh... Mah... Gawd... I am a democracy now...
Anyway, this is an announcement of the fact that I am a democracy, anyway, I want no invasions because that would mess up my plans, otherwise feel free to comment however you like
The revolution happened in another thread)

Fictions Times - English Edition

Votes Cast In Historical Elections

Today is a historical event in the nation of Fictions, after almost 200 years of dictatorship, elections have been held for the first time ever in the nation's history.
It has been almost two years since the successful revolution overthrew the old dictatorship, since then a transitionary government has been in power and the changes seen under their regime was staggering, for the first time in the nation's history people have been allowed to form political parties and trade unions and rights such as freedom of religion and freedom of speech have for the first time been granted.
This is not to say that the whole operation has went smoothly, counterrevolutionary attack have been and still are a major problem and there have been several attempts made on the lives of the candidates of the most popular newly formed parties. Still they prevailed and their efforts have finally paid off and the votes of Fictions first ever elections hare in.
There were 499 seats in council available and the post of president to be taken.
The seats will be shared amongst the five running parties Conservative Party, Liberty Party, Christian Union and Social Party and the Jewish Party.
The Times is happy to be one of the first to announce that the role of president was won by the Conservative Party Candidate Owen Chana, who's party gained an incredible 73% of votes which not only won him the presidency but also won his party 364 seats in the national council. The other seats were divided as follows;
Liberty party: 91 seats
Christian union: 17 seats
Social party: 15 seats
Jewish Party: 12 seats
President Owen Chana will be sworn in later today and will be serving five years in office, what will happen in those years is anyone's guess but all we know is that we are certainly living in interesting times.

Funny quotes about Jekrehnot:
