Calizorinstan had been a democracy for at least 56 years, ever since the people overthrew the Slovick monarchy dynasty that had ruled Calizorinstan for at least 250 years. That dynasty collapsed for many reasons, some trivial, and others not so trivial. The democracy in Calizorinstan had worked well for 56 years, however, the people were grumbling about the policies of both Juilana Arnold, who had been the shortest reigning President of Calizorinstan, and her father John Arnold.

A movement was started to overthrow the government called "The Free People's of Calizorinstan", funded in part by the Communist Party of Calizorinstan, some non-religious groups, and some major religious groups. The FPC, as it was known was already getting deep into the heart of the matter...

In the Presidential Palace, San Diego, Calizorinstan..

President Arnold looked over his glasses at the latest headline "Rebellion by the FPC crushed in Juilian. 78 rebels dead, 23 Calizorinstani Marines wounded, and 12 Calizorinstani Marines killed.." He cursed the rebels very existance, and said aloud angrily "Don't they realize that if our government falls, that the prosperity of Calizorinstan falls also? Don't I get any support from any of my old friends any more.."

A phone rang on his desk and he said "Hullo! Ah, General Sakarov! How are you? Good. Oh, you're planning an operation are you? Found a rebel encampment eh? Napalm it I say! Very good. Where is the rebel encampment by the way? Fourty miles away from Juilan eh? Well, nobody will notice. If you find any bunkers, it may be time to use some bunker busters eh?"

An hour later...

7,000 feet and ten miles from the rebel encampment...

A flight of four F/A-15A Cardinals, loaded with napalm were speedily headed towards the encampment. "Cowboy Four, Three, Two, this is Cowboy Lead, approaching the target area.." They came upon the encampment, a crude series of shacks, with sand streets, or what passed for them. Armed people came running out of the shacks, and some AA guns were being towed into place.

"Cowboy Flight, let's deliver the goods..." Cowboy Lead drawled, and they pickled the napalm and pulled up... They climbed up, and observed the village burn....

Calizorinstani Times
Crude Warfare being waged against the Rebels..

John Moore,
War Correspondent

I got news this morning that Operation: Cobra Strike was put into implementation in several stages. The Raid on the Salton Sea Encampment, I believe is the first of the stage. A flight of four F/A-15A Cardinals dropped napalm upon a crude native village, burning the inhabitants alive, in a slow and painful death. I do not know why the President even cares about the FPC, but they should be left alone. They want a different government, and by golly I agree with them. It's time for a change. The President's lies about the prosperity falling if the FPC take over does not abide with me at all...
