Harbin
Senator Selindara Imai (LPP) walked up to the great podium that had been built in the center of the capital of Manchuria. She had hurried to Manchuria as the vote ended to address the people of Manchuria. She looked out on the beautiful city, Paris of the Orient, in front of her thousands of manchurians had gathered. The referendum had been the first fair election in Manchuria ever and it had caused a vast majority of voters to vote giving the referendum great credibility. Selindara smiled. In her oppinion the manchurians had made the right choice. While a manchurian republic would probarbly have been able to work there would always have been a chance of it comming under to much hayaban control. As for the communist Manchuria she had been shocked at how many people had supported the idea. A return to the monarchy and a divided Manchuria had been choices that she would have thought would appeal far more to the manchurians.
The senator looked out over the crowds that had gathered to hear the result directly from the mouth of the powerful senator "People of Manchuria." She said, her voice magnified by large speakers around the capital while beeing send through every media in the country from televisions to radios and even to cell phones "For the first time in the history of Manchuria an election has been held. For the first time you, the people, has been asked what future you wish for your beautiful lands. It is my privelige to hereby welcome Manchuria as a colonial subdivision of La Serenissima." More then half the crowd began cheering at those words. Both the russians and chinese however remained silent. They had not feelt happy about the referendum which had not provided them with the options they had hoped for. "By the earliest convenience I will sit down with the leaders of Manchuria and formulate a treaty to transfer sovereignity over Manchuria from the current republic to La Serenissima."
