"Reika-chan, Reika-chan!!"
Fleeting thoughts, half awake half asleep she slowly incorporated herself on the tatami mat and tried to remember the last thread of her dream. Someone had been calling her, a male voice with soothing tones. A male voice she was almost sure she knew, a peaceful voice.
Running her right fingers through her long, black tresses, Kokonoe Reika finally opened her ebony eyes and focused them on the distant wall, the dance of the tress making horrid shadows against the wall and papered door. It was the middle of the night, a howling storm raged outside. But her room, aside from the dancing shadows, was quiet.
It had been 4 months since the parting of Chiharu-hime to the outer lands. Nanatsu no Tsuki was in a tense calm and the royal house of Agatsuma didn't know what to make of their lady sovereign's sudden desire to travel. Reika knew, deep down, troubled times were in the horizon.
The royal seal had been stamped with wax and silver against Lady Chiharu's chamber doors. The consort left with her, leaving another empty seat at the Cabinet Hall. Lord Kohei seemed distraught most of the time and irritable, but Reika didn't know what she could do. Perhaps just strive to wake up and think.
