The M60 roared to life as the gunner sat behined it happy as a clown. He sprayed the guardtower almost cutting it to peices. The Imps in the prison were reservists never expecting to see themselves in actual combat. The worst they had ever seen was a riot, and a few shanks. Sgt.Patterson was relived as the helicopter began lowering it's self towards the ground. Landing in the courtyard of the prison, Patterson hit the ground with a thud. Hearing the door to the side open he pumped 2 shotgun shells into the opening turing the 3 guards that had come rushing out into a pulp.

the walls around the SAM sites virtually exploded inwards, as T-2010s slammed into them at top speed, and with plenty of momentum behind the 63 tons of metal that was each tank, which immediately opened fire upon entry, sending "Echo" shells at the surprised Imperial forces. Taggerd had personally loaded the shell in Shannon's 120mm gun's barrel. he shouted "FIRE!!!!" and the the 1st Heavy Armor sent 35 shells towards the SAM launcher's key spots. the .50s blazed at the infantry that were foolish enough to enter his field of vision, yet the .75s stayed silent, pointed at the sky.

Jones saw panicked Imperial soldiers running back and forth atop the city walls as the Valkyries approached at top speed.

"All right, men," he said over the radio to his pilots. "Let's give 'em something to really wig out about."

In a massive torrent of destructive power, the Valkyries began launching their air-to-ground missiles. The main gates into the city were blown to splinters, and dozens of holes were blasted into the thick stone walls. Within seconds, the fighter-bombers had totally negated all the fixed defenses of the city, and all the Imp troops and heavy weapons stationed on the walls.

It was now wide open for the ground forces to take.

The Steel Fraternity wrote:The minutes seemed to pass agonizingly slow as the Thunderbirds hovered in formation, waiting. If those tanks couldn't take out the SAMs, the attach force would have to go to plan B. The Paladins would have to disembark from their Thunderbirds, advance on foot through the forest, unable to jumpjet through the thick trees, and take out the SAMs themselves while the LLFs took the prison themselves.

If that came to pass, they would have to pray that not only would the Monarchists keep the prisoners they'd been holding hostage alive after the attack started, but that the LLF helicopters would be able to land in the prison courtyard and disembark without being slaughtered by the prison guards.

Just before he turned to go back to the troop bay and drop with his Paladins, however, the Lietenant on the radio turned to him.

"Centurion," said the young man. "The Crystillaeians have disabled the SAMs. We are clear to go."

"Good," said Nichol, relief flooding him. He turned to the pilot. "Let's go then."

--

The second he received word that the SAMs were down, Jones put his Valkyrie back up to full speed. Checking the position of the Thunderbirds, he confirmed that the timing was right for the Valkyries to blow open the citie's defenses just after the airborne troops landed in the prison.

It almost seemed that the prison had been set up by the Imps to be as easy to take as possible for the Allied forces. The thick stone and wood floors of the castle were far better able to hold the Paladin's power-armored weight than modern buildings, and the prison guards were armed only with small arms.

The joint LLF/Paladin forces waltzed through the stone corridors with ease. The Paladins walked in front, shielding the LLF men with their armored bulk, while the rebels fired over the Paladin's shoulders and opened every prison cell they passed.

The freed prisoners were herded back to the courtyard, loaded onto helicopters, and flown out in large groups to be dropped off behind the main allied advance, where they would be safely out of the way of the coming battle in the streets.

Patterson was having the time of his life. It was the first time the squad had seen him smile, ever. He had borrowed the Warden's personal SUV and insted of walking to the outside of the city and linking up with the others to assult the city he was going to drive there at over 120mph in a $140,000 SUV. Seeing Taggard's tank, Patterson honked the horn and waved passing him in a blur.

The LLF troops eagerly awaited outside the gates for the Pallies to open the doors. The sentries had been quitely dispatched via broken necks and suppressed gunshots. As the LLF Infantry Fighting Vehicles showed up Patterson knew that the imperials ahd no chance. The morters opened up, lobbing 120mm rounds into the city causing the imperials to panic.

OOC: Got it
IC:
Hundreds of LLF shock troops stormed the city alongside of the massive crystillaeian tanks. Claring the first building the LLF found no resistance, and the tanks found few targets. However as the allied forces moved intighter around the city center the imps began to get more desperate. Stuck inbetween a massive allied army on one side and a "Not one step back" policy several resorted to strapping themselves with explosives sand running towards the tanks. As Sgt.Patterson saw the madman running toward's Taggard's tank he dropped to a knee and calmy shot the man's legs out from under him, still goving him time to detonate his c-4 near a group of his men, killing 12 of them.

Spreading out from the prison, the Paladins struck out in all directions, killing every Imp soldier they came across. With the heavy weapons that had been on top of the wall gone, the Monarchists had nothing that could penetrate Paladin armor, and the other Allied troops sweeping into the city were swiftly overwhelming any resistance they found.

Soon, Imp soldiers began throwing down their arms and surrenduring rather than fight back.

As the engineer managed to open the panic room lock, Patterson stuck his M-4 inside and found the Imperial Command Center for that region. They immediately shot up their hand and began to cower in fear.
"Private" Asked Sgt.Patterson
"Yessir?" Replied the LLF Shock Trooper
"Call up the Chairman, I think we are having ourselves a good old fashioned hanging tommorow." Smirked Patterson

While clearing yet another street, Nichol spotted the LLF Sergeant who had stormed the prison with them earlier. Now the rebel and his men were leading a group of captured Imps out of a building. With no hostiles in sight, he jumpjetted over.

"Well, Sergeant," said Nichol. "I think we won."

OOC: I do believe Lusitaniagrad has left us for awhile. We can just say we're running a constant bombing campaign/bombardment on the Monarchist capital in Lisbonburg until he gets back, and then finish this off.

IC:

The Allied fleet far outmatches the Monarchist's navy. If we steam into the bay of Lisbonburg, we can probably take station just offshore from the city without the enemy even trying to engage us. We could then begin a 24/7 campaign of cruise missile bombardment and bombing off our aircraft carriers.

After a week or so of this, the Imps will either be begging for us to accept their surrender, or the capital's defenses will be weakened enough to fall easily.

Alright, the plan I propose is the movement of our naval fleet into the bay of Lisbonburg, and began the bombardment as per the proposition of the Steel Fraternity.

In sync with the movement of our fleet, we should begin to move our infantry into the area of Castle Longdon.

Derpedians supported by the P&S infantry from the west, LLF from the north, and the Paladins from the air, as per the usual. The T-2010's should smash up through the south shortly after my men engage the enemy alongside the P&S boys and the LLf.
