Georgetpwn alliances in NS are rather weak unless you have a strong player. For example CAG is a pushover alliance because it has no real superpower to it. For example if Scandy was leading it BC wouldn't dream of touching you. If Allanea was leading you guys would be set for life. Pop number has no real power over an alliance but reputation does. A nation like GWO is recognizable and is seen as a serious threat. You have nothing that says "Wow these guys are dangerous."

You guys can be a cobra but without the venom you guys are harmless. You guys have the potential to be a great alliance but you have no real knowable leader.

I have no issue with going to war with GWO or Allanea other than the fact that I am on good diplomatic terms with Allanea and have no reason to go to war with him. I see neither as a serious threat given the fact that to actually occupy a nation of close to 6 billion people would be nearly impossible. At the least a massive economic/military forces drain.

I would say roughly 90% of NS nations have more way more than enough in their defense budget even if they aren't particularly militaristic.
