I told you guys to stop doing that. Seriously, when this is over, and CAG happens to rise from the ashes, I need a bit more power there to stop this kind of thing happening again.

I know man I know. Next time either they get stricter about who gets in or I look over the application and decide.

Certainly not you, Chetty. I still believe you do need some training, no offense meant.

Revolvisa, yeah, you'd be good.

Perhaps a vote, actually?

But is training necessary for accepting or denying people? I know I need training for Rping still. We were gonna have votes but then it didnt happen. Yeah I have to say, theres a lot that needs to be done differently this time around. Maybe this attack is good for CAG.

There comes a time where you have to realize that you're stacking the odds to the point where it's no longer fun for new players. It doesn't help that he's setting possibly the worst example I've seen for new players by teleporting a fleet 200 km off someone's shore, firing 600 anti-ship missiles at no particular targets from beyond the radar horizon, and then claiming that a super dreadnought which can launch heavy bombers and have 14 railguns is kosher on NS.

By the way, I notice that when a large player discovers a deposit of oil, Griffencrest is nowhere to be found. It's only when a tiny little guy who has no idea that there's some spiteful corporation lurking around discovers one that he jumps in and invades.

OOC: The odds really aren't stacked. It's part of Ralkovia's and Griffencrest's forces against at least half a dozen nations. And frankly, I personally have no problem with fluid time since 6 months of travel at sea is no fun to write about, but this is getting back into the rut of discussing other people's style and ability publicly. And as I said, Griffencrest's IC style includes wresting resources from smaller nations. Of course they don't attack bigger nations: there are limits on Griffencrest's IC power that its IC leaders know well.

OOC: The odds aren't stacked? Three massive nations against half a dozen tiny 09ers?

The fluid timing isn't what I have an issue with -- it's the fact that he assumes no one would notice him 200 km off the person's coast, or if they did, that they would assume war games.

OOC: when you look at the numbers people are committing, it's a fraction of the bigger nations against the smaller nations gearing up for a total war.

But the bigger nations not only know how to RP better, but they claim access to the most powerful technology conceivable.

The simple fact of the matter is that there's 3-4 huge nations facing a handful of smaller ones. The larger ones can always send reinforcements, and they know this well. Plus, those nations know how to RP wars (maybe not the specifics quite as well as I'd like, but who's to judge...), and they're claiming technology which is frankly ridiculous. Nothing from DMG should ever be used in an RP -- ever.

Out of curiosity, where's the war happening right now, if not near Sorgan?

There was one in Sorgan, which I believe we retreated. A second in Gracefall, which we haven't really fought since Griffencrest has pulled out all these ships. And the third is against Kim Jong-Ilia, though I don't know where that is.

Sometimes, some nations build ships for bragging rights, but we cannot use them due to their inability to leave harbor.

OOC: My line of thought was that if it dragged on to necessitate reinforcements the investment would overshadow the gains and Griffencrest would most likely move on.

Alright people, opinions...effective land warfare machine, or giant, ground-attack aircraft target?

YOU DECIDE.

In MT, the goal should be to achieve the ideal size, not the biggest size. In fact, your goal should be to build things as SMALL as possible. Preferably as cheaply as possible. Big things are big targets and anything that big will be the target of 20 cruise missiles the moment it appears on the field. Likewise "LOL GIGANTIC 100KM SHIP W/25 AWESOMEGUNS" should instantly be the subject of intense scrutiny by a number of explosive devices.

If the controller of said ship pulls some "DERP DERP 500 CIWS UR MISSLZ DIE" you're free to ignore them at that point. Or drop some godrods on their ship.

Am I the only one who remembers the heyday of godrods? Everybody had them. Good times. Of course, back then PMT/MT were the same thing and FT wasn't 'properly' separated.

Also, to all those who want to run CAG.....

Everyone is in charge. We have voted on all our issues, and everyone got the same amount of votes. 1. And that is how much the members got, and how much the founders got.

We are all in charge, we made CAG to let the members never have to follow the leaders wishes. We are an alliance of choice and of democracy.
