Empress Monique D'Aubainne not to marry

After the empress took power in the newly established state, many kings, princes, sultans, and emirs from surrounding countries have flocked to Leavatia to marry the empress. Although she will not marry any of the men due to that fact that when a woman marries in Leavatian culture, all her possessions become the husbands. Empress Monique D'Aubainne will not let her empire and her people to be in the hands of someone besides hers.

Not taking a husband seems to have angered king Vlodnic III of the Kingdom of Calia. A man who has always had his sights on Leavatia due to the Imperial Canal (it's in the center of the country). He wants the potential wealth that the empress might some day posses.

The King moved his military to the western boarder of Leavatia (by Ciecero) as a show of military force. In response, the empress moves 2 divisions of the LSF into Ciecero to repel any attempts to take the city.

In other less important news, the Demetrian Republic secedes the rest of Leavatian lands without a war (as Leavatia was an overseas colony of Demetrius) and in doing so, allows the Empress and the overseers council to return to the historic capital of Riveara.

The President of Maleen shall send the a small naval contingent, a marine battalion, and an air wing just to observe the situation unfolding between Leavatia and Calia. Although if a full scale war does break out, The Authoritarian Syndicate of Maleen will, without doubt, support Leavatia.

"Anything interesting happening in the world?" Ranakin asked his son as they were playing a friendly game of poker with other officals.

It was their night for playing a friendly round of poker or three to let off some steam. Taishi Ci looked at his cards before looking at the small pot. They were betting with Pizza Shapes from a biscut company that was doing rather well in Lynion. It was only fair they betted with them rather than money. Lee had won the pervious two rounds and his pile was slowly building. Ranakin on the other hand was an expert at bluffing his way through poker.

"Just the usual wars over oil," replied Taishi Ci as Tzu looked at his cards.

"Same old crap," smiled Jian as he placed his cards on the table. "Fold," Jian had a pair of Kings.

"I've got something you'll laugh," smiled Lee as Ranakin raised an eyebrow. "According to intel, there's being a military build up at the western border of Calia and Leavatia. Guess what's it over,"

"Oil?" Taishi Ci answered.

"Land?" Tzu suggested.

"Nope," smiled Lee. "It's over a canal that runs through Leavatia," he replied.

"Ohh crap," started Ranakin as he tried not to laugh. "I suppose it would be a key objective. Calia must really be after the wealth since Leavatia has a canal running through their nation. Countries wanting to go from one end to the other and they can get the ships to pay a small fee. Also, they can board ships and take off with the loot. It's not like we need anything,"

"Point taken," smiled Woff as he raised the pot. "Why don't we send a couple of divisions down there to make sure things run smoothly?"

"Na," replied Ranakin as he called everyone to show their cards. "Send the 14th Field Army down with two armada's to keep an eye on things," he smiled as they showed their cards. Ranakin won with a Royal Straight. "Actually, send them a telegram we're willing to support them in the war. I find Calia a bunch of morons who sound like children that need to be taught how to behave," he concluded as the group ate their Shapes.

In recent times, we have discovered that there's being a military build up on the border of Calia-Leavatia by Calia. We don't intend to do anything at this time, but we are dispatching a small Field Army to keep an eye on the situation. King Vlodnic III of Calia visited Riveara one more time. He demanded that the Empress marry him or else his military would annex the country by force. The Imperial Overseers and the Empress just told him to take a hike. Something that he was not too happy about.

So he returned to Calia and started organizing the 3rd army for an attack. Although some annalists thing that the king is bluffing.
