OOC: What happened to the last one?

IC:

"Wait, what just happened?" asked a puzzled Luigi, "They are starting a second war even though the previous is not finished?"
"Thats what it looks like," guessed Larry, "What are we going to do with all these preparations?"
"Lets go and stop this other pitiful war."
"Sure thing, it shouldn't take us too long to get to that island since we've already loaded up most of the ammunition."

Official Statement

We don't know what happened to that last war, but we will still do what we were going to do, intervene and shoot at anything annoying. Our 30,000 highly-trained infantry and 5,000 M1 Abrams will stop this so-called war once and for all.

"Whats our status?" asked Gen. Larry as he walked up and down a room full of monitors.
"Most of our forces have left the harbor and are now headed towards the island," stated a man in a desk with a computer, "There hasn't been any major problems yet."
"Do you think the Maximillian the Second and the Italians have noticed us?"
"Well, we have an entire navy headed towards them, so its unlikely that we've gone unspotted by radars."
"Incoming message!" exclamed another man, "It seems that the Maximillians are wanting an end to this silly war."

In a room with only a circular table, a discussion about the recent attack has taken place. Four men are present at the table sitting down. One of them is the General Larry, and the others are his advisory council.

"Shouldn't they be protecting their island instead of attack our navy?" asked Larry.
"It seems they don't have their priorities straight," said a councilor.
"The attack has left about 8 transportation ships out of the 100 sunk," stated another, "About 5 more are currently unoperational, but they should be functional in a short while."
"One battleship has been sunk out of 20, but the other nineteen are still operational," boasted an engineer as he was walking in through the door, "The one that sunk was the one without my new improved armor."
"That is no reason to be so full of yourself," yelled Larry, who was obviously mad at the engineer's pride, "We still lost hundreds of lives."
