This thread is posted for the purposes of establishing a canon relationship between Comaack and two of the more ... reprehensible noble Houses in Santheres.
This will matter for anyone going to war with Comaack, until further notice. I will state now, in case people don't understand, that no, I will not leap to the aid of Comaack. I will be neutral in all of his affairs, and this territory will be a primary center for refugees should something happen to Comaack. The two relevant houses will protect their investments, however, so please act wisely. Diplomacy would be a lovely thing.
This will also cover any future developments, both political and economic, that actually matter.

Comaack Cedes Breadbasket to Leone, Paladino
Des Moines, Comaack - It was an interesting day for Houses Leone and Paladino as the negotiations with the government of the peripheral nation of Comaack drew to a close. The Houses involved, having previously purchased the Iowa Territory and the southern portion of the Minnesota Territory, expanded their grasp on Comaacki production, gaining industrial control over the western third of the nation.
Agreements between the nation and the two noble Houses have placed the center of Leone and Paladino operations in Des Moines, Iowa Territory. Other primary cities in the region remain fully under Comaacki control, but smaller cities and the rural country have been granted to the Houses.
This agreement effectively combines the four Comaacki territories into what is being referred unofficially as “Santherese Comaack,” said to now be considered Santherese Properties Abroad, with all the rights and protections such title may place upon them. Residents in this region are said to retain Comaacki citizenship and be granted no position in Santherese law; however, all persons born within these Properties until such time as all rights have been restored to the Republic of Comaack will be granted Santherese citizenship under the auspices of either House Leone or Paladino.
A primary agricultural center for Comaack and her neighbors, this region, says a representative of House Paladino, will continue to operate as a major producer of crops necessary to the growth of all nations worldwide. As such, House Leone has announced that all produce from their given region will be available for export at lower than market value. House Paladino is, however, expected to operate in a profitable manner.
During the course of agreements, another representative said, the land originally purchased in their entirety from Comaack has been sold back for an undisclosed price, raising the debt owed to Santheres. These territories are incorporated into Santherese Comaack, so House Paladino still maintains majority control over the region. The debts incurred in the war which devastated Comaack not long ago are still owed to Santheres and there are no current plans for Comaack to pay back the debt due to their wars since inhibiting the ability to do so. Santherese analysts have suggested that this debt may never be paid, suggesting an overall lack of confidence in Comaacki credit.
Current joint ventures in the growth of the region are unknown. Analysts claim that there is a higher per capita GDP in Santherese Comaack, and more jobs and general stability, than in the rest of the country, though note that this does include Comaacki city-dwellers. Rural quality of life is expected to be higher than Comaack counterparts.
Some members of the Leone family have suggested the possibility of permanently purchasing territory in Comaack, likely around the coast, rather than near their area of governance, but there is no word of any proposals made to the local government.
These acts by Houses Leone and Paladino make them the first truly international Houses outside of the Giarelli-controlled Marquess Corporation ownership of GInsurance (MGI), the third largest insurance company in United Gordonopia.
When asked about claims of alliances with Comaack, representatives from all aspects of Santherese government have denied any such relationship with the state, noting its instability, imperialistic nature, and fascist politics. Allegations of proposed mutual defense pacts have also been dismissed as "utterly ridiculous." The only note on defense of Comaack was the insinuation that any ballistic missiles believed to be fired at Comaack will be shot down, in the interest of protecting Santherese Comaack from the effects of nuclear weapons.
