Today marked the 15th birthday of Himeko Hirohito, and her parents have felt to declare her an adult. And should anything happen, she would be the first successor of the throne. But before that she had more learning to do. Learning how to run the country was a big process for a young Royal.
Princess Tomoyo coached her young daughter though and through. Every political nook and cranny would she explore with her daughter. One can never be too prepared, after all, Tomoyo lost her parents in a flash those many years ago and she always prayed to the Kami spirits to bless her family with good health, bad things still happen to good people.
"Very nice to meet you," Himeko said "I Hime..."
"I am." Tomoyo corrected her as she continued coaching her on English. While Himeko was generally bright she still struggled to learn some things.
"I am Hime-Himeko Hirohito."
"Very good sweetheart. But I think you should put Hime at the end of your name, or it sounds like your stuttering. A good Princess never stutters in her speech."
"Yes Mama." She complied and "Nice to meet you, I am Himeko Hirohito-hime."
"Very good. Now say I'm the daughter of..."
"I am the daughter of Princess Tomoyo Hirohito and Prince Li Hirohito."
"Yes very good. You'll do well when you depart on your tour."
"Mama, can I please sail on The Raven?"
"That is the plan, sweetheart."
"No I mean The Raven Classic"
"Our old ship? Honey, I'd much prefer you sail on an armored battle ship that our old Clipper ship."
"But that's how you sailed around."
"I know. It was always hard on me, especially when I was pregnant with you girls. Now that we have a modern Navy I much prefer you travel with the safety of a fully armed and sturdy battle ship."
"But I think of it as tradition. Our old country that has kept old values intact, that likes things just as they are. We have clean skies, water because we keep from over industrialization. Now I know we have a protection of modern, but still I want to follow tradition for my first tour."
"Well you are an adult now. We waited an extra year and seems to have paid off for you. All right."
She hugged her mother.
"Okay I better go finish the invitations to telegraph." She ran off.
