also, they can't move at crawling speeds without engines on the undersides, and they damn well don't have them.

Ok, I'm FT in some RP's. And I'd only build them around the most heavily defended areas. To add to that, they have some point-defense weapons and measures to take in case it's breached.(i.e. sealed hatches, self-sealing skin, etc.)

Not to criticize everything you post Stryk but to be honest with you broken ribs hurt - like hell. Even a bruised one will make you kneel over in pain. I got a bruised rib once from football and the pain was unbearable.

I did consider that. I know they hurt. But to remind you, Sheppard is part robot, a trained SF soldier, and has been shot up a lot.

Nuh uh.
Not after as many years as he's had in service, Adrenalin's effects, good and bad, start to lose effectiveness the more they're used. And I doubt he's a 21 year old new recruit.

That's why Novan troops carry about a few issued regulator patches in one of their pouches, to neutralise the affects of adrenalin and other hormones that are released into the bloodstream (normally to prevent the downsides affecting muscles in long-term engagements)
