Harruka-Festival

Postby North Avayu » Mon May 11, 2009 8:38 am

Dear leaders of the world,

North Avayu has recently decided to make international contacts. Therefore I want to extend an invitation to all of you to come to our nation.
It won't just be a meeting for political and economical reasons, but mostly a cultural exchange. You will stay at the Presidents Villa in the heart of Freiburg, the capital of our nation. You are encouraged to bring partners, family and a delegation with you, but please not too many persons, because there is no endless space in the villa. Please tell us the numbers of the people you want to bring with you, so that we can plan your lodging.

The program will start with a party the first day, followed by informal talks and opportunities to visit our country.
At the same time of this meeting, there will be hold a traditional event, called the "Harruka-Festival". It's a initiation ceremony with its origins by the native tribes of our country. Today it's an important cultural event for young man and woman in the age of sixteen. It consists out of twelve different challenges as well for the body as for the mind. You are allowed to bring a fellow countryman or -woman with you to participate in this competition, or even take part in it yourself. Your age doesn't matter in this case, see it as a symbolic act of making friends with our nation.

I hereby invite you in the name of President William Sheppard and the people of North Avayu,
Sincerely
Patrick Agon, Prime Minister of North Avayu

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
OOC: This shall mainly be a opportunity to introduce my nation and make some contacts.

Dear Supreme Dictator Fenaqz,

It's good to hear this. However, I can tell, that there is no reason to bring armed men with you. But they are kindly invited as long as they don't carry their weapons open.
We will welcome you

The Three Wiendan Nations: North, South, and Southwest, plan to attend this Conference. We will require three Rooms, all next to each other. The Presidents (or Dictators) will bring their Wife (or Husband) each. The total amount of people attending, therefore, is Six. Please arrange for that.

Also, another question has arisen. Will North Avayu be the only nation presenting its Culture, or will we get a chance to share?

Dear Mr. Patrick Agon The United Socialist States of Linterbeed will be glad to join to this wondeful festival.
The President Emilio Muruaga, the Vice-President Steve Walker, the First Lady, the Minister of Economy, the Minister of Art & Culture, and the Minister of Tourism will be there with some of our traditional artists and best athletes who got gold medals on 2008 Olimpics, so we will need 8 rooms.
Also we have some questions beacuse we would like to promote Linterbeed as a touristic destiny in North Avayu but just with your permission. We would like to broadcast this event live on Linterbed's national tv cannel LInTV. We want to talk about a free trade agreement between Norht Avayu and Linterbeed and finally we want to know if you have any port available to take our emblem ship the LS Revolution so your people can get inside and visit it. Well thank you for your time we appreciate it.

Dear President Anthony Srgo,

we will prepare four rooms for the Cheztopian delegation and three more rooms for your security personal. If you feel the need to bring them armed with those weapons, you are allowed to, but make sure that they are carried safly and not reachable for any other persons than those security agents.
Looking forward to the meeting,

Patrick Agon,
Prime Minister

---------------------------------------------

Dear President Emilio Muruaga

You will be provided with eight rooms. I'm also sure that we will be able to speak about the opportunities you speak of during this meeting. Of course every nation attending will have the right to broadcast the public part of the meeting and any foreign TV teams and reporters are allowed to move freely in North Avayu.
If you can tell me how big the LS revolution is, we will be able to provide you with an an anchorage in Ratio, our main port, only twenty miles away from our capital.
Looking forward to the meeting,

Patrick Agon,
Prime Minister

----------------------------------------------

To the Ministry of International Affairs, Estnorden,

you are expressing exactly my oppinion about culture. We are honoured that you will attend with a that big delegation, even the whole government.
Three of our best rooms in the President's Villa will be prepared and a complete floor in the Hospitium Hotel Freiburg will be booked.
I'm sure our police will be able to preserve security of all attendees, there are no news about protests or troublemakers yet.
Looking forward to the meeting,

Patrick Agon,

A wise decision, as I can assure you that you will not need any troops. You and your wife will be welcome and we will provide you a suite in the President's Villa.

We would be pleased to send Ms. Harmony Chang to represent Fatatatutti at the Harruka Festival. Although she is over sixteen, she would like to participate in the challenges.

No accomodations will be required at the villa. However, Ms. Chang would appreciate any information about cheap campsites in the vicinity. She would also like to know about the possibility of renting a bicycle.

From the office of

Caius I

Supreme Dictator and Guardian of the Realm

The Jingoistic States of Oxymorinicae

SIR,

The Jingoistic States of Oxymoronicae applaud the decision on the behalf of other nations to take no armed forces. We require, however, that each official attending requires two guardsmen, and for every family and/or minor dignitary one guardsman. We cannot risk the presence of Supreme Dictator Cauis I, but his brother Lord Admiral Dvorgon will be leading our party.

The party:

Lord Admiral Dvorgon; two security personnel
Lord Admiral Dvorgon's family; three people and one member of security personnel
Ensigns of the Fleet Gnock, Gildor and Edwards and three security personnel
Deputy-Commander-In-Chief of the Merchant Guards Sandhorn and two security peronnel; his family and one member of security personnel

Therefore:

Four rooms

Suggested transport arrangements

We will fly our party in on the jetfighter 'Termbeetle' and will anticipate a party to meet them.

Security Personnel

In light of your request for light weapons, our guardsmen will carry silent OM-36E specification pistols. These are lethal but are easily concealed and should not pose a danger to you. They are also to be armed with traditional electrical pikes which are ceremonial and occasionally used for crown control. These can be left behind at any ceremony which you desire this arrangement for.

Caius I

Supreme Dictator.

Prime Minister Agon,

The Assurani First Family was thrilled to recieve your invitation. My husband, however, regrets to inform you that we will be unable to attend due to recent civil unrest in our coastal province.

In our place, we send our eldest son and youngest daughter, Darian and Beatrice LeSangstra. Both are accomplished dancers, especially in regards to our regional variation of the waltz, and both have some skill with the lyre. If you so wish, they will be happy to demonstrate at the festival.

As is the custom in Assuran, my children will each be accompanied by a small squadron of no more than four lightly armed guards. Should this become a problem, these guards can easily be recalled to prevent any tensions from arising.

In total, we should require no more than one room for both of my children--Beatrice is sixteen, and should not be unaccompanied by her brother--and four nearby rooms for the guards, should you allow them to attend the festivities as well. If no rooms are to be had in the villa, we will be forced to withdraw our response to your invitation.

Yours humbly,
Adria LeSangstra nee Taelstarr
Lady-Consort of Norbert LeSangstra and Matron of the Assurani First Family

A brochure from the tourist information, especially for Ms. Harmony Chang:

North Avayu is suited for every kind of vacation. We have high class hotels for conferences and sophisticated guests, beautiful beaches and beach hotels for casual tourists and also opportunities for backpackers to learn to know the country and its population. The beautiful green countryside, with many National Parks and historical monuments, is as well worth taking a look at as our modern cities, with their cultural institutions and guaranteed fun for everyone.
...
For Backbackers and Adventurers
North Avayu is perfect for a backpacker vacation. There is much to see everywhere, a well built public transport system and the people are generally hospitable.
Renting bikes or a car: The public transport is supported by "rent-a-bike-stations". At those, you can rent bikes for a samll fee (10 Aions a day, around 2,5$). The bikes are modern and well maintained, You are able to give them back at any other station in the same town, most big cities have one in every quarter. You can also rent them for for a longer time period and driving from town to town, but then you have to pay an extra fee and to sign a little contract. For renting cars, there are a lot of car rentals in every town, especially near tourist hot spots and airports.
Camping:Every town with more than 100.000 inhabitants has to have an campsite. Those are cheap and mainly for the modest guests. There are also a lot of private campsites everywhere, some direct in the jungle some next to the beach. Camping is very popular and a good way to save money.

--------------------------------------------------------

Dear Empress Serenity Boujé of Eleben,

I'm very happy to that the Eleben is sending a delegation. Four rooms will be provided for you.
Looking forward to the meeting,

Patrick Agon,
Prime Minister

-------------------------------------------------------

To The Jingoistic States of Oxymorinicae

We will have four rooms ready for Lord Admiral Dvorgon and his party. We will await your delegation at the Kant International Airport in Freiburg. You then will be transportet in North Avayun government vehicles to the Villa.
There shouldn't be a problem with your security personnel as long as they stay kindly in the background and carry their weapons safely and unreachable for third persons. Also you should try to arrange with the securities of other nations so that there is no internal conflict.
Looking forward to the meeting,

Patrick Agon,
Prime Minister

-------------------------------------------------------

Dear Adria LeSangstra nee Taelstarr,

We will be happy to accomodate your children with open arms. I'm sure they will be a great compensation for your absence and will be able to give us some insight into your nations culture. we will provide them with a litle suite with two rooms, which was planned for guests with children, and furthermore four rooms for your security. the guards shouldn't be a problem, as long as they behave in a kind, contained way.
Looking forward to the meeting,

Patrick Agon,
Prime Minister

Prime Minister Agon,

Thank you for your prompt response.
The Assurani guards have all been training in proper concealment techniques, as well as common courtesy. We have no known enemies at this time, so tensions should not be a problem.
The Herondale Committee for International Affairs has agreed to supply the children of the First Family with one of our nation's few helicopters, a Bell 206 Jetranger, for the journeys to and from North Avayu (We felt that an Assurani airship might be, ah, a little much.). Which airfield would be the most convenient?

Standard procedure would be to land at Freiburgs Kant International Airport, where you would be awiated by a commitee and then transferred to the Villa. But as we heard that your people appreciate to go by foot, it would be possible to land at the Parliaments helipad, from where it's just a short walk to the Presidents Villa, with a chance to see some sights of our capital. Please tel me which would be more convenient for you, because you would need a special allowance for the parliaments helipad.

If you could arrange for the use of the Parliaments Helipad, hopefully without too much trouble, that would be wonderful. Please do not expect the children before 1300 hours, though, as a minor religious observance falls on the day they would depart for your festival.

Me and a friend of mine are coming to the festival. Be warned, we will have special medical packages that if they are x-rayed or looked through, they will be contaminated, resulting in the death of 2 foreign diplomats. We both request rooms on the 5th floor of the Hurruka Hotel in the Villa.
