Hurl Mondogo gone at our darkest hour
Following the recent events in our neighbouring country Locoland. The nation of Quendell is becoming more and more scared as well as disappointed in the so called South Quendell. Powerful countries such as the USSR have stepped in to try and solve the issues occurring in Locoland however they seem to only be making things worse. The Quendellian council has stated their strong dislike to the rebels saying they have only caused trouble and they do not deserve to be called South Quendell as that royal name only belongs to true rulers. This move done by Quendell is unexpected as the council usually tries to keep a neutral stance.
The Dragon Empire of United States has stated their support to the rebels therefore making Quendell generally dislike them however not to a strong degree as Quendell still has a certain respect for D.E.U.S. Quendell however has not done any acts of violence and instead has sent politicians to the USSR in hopes that the rebels and the USSR will have peace talks and so this war will finally end.

In a shocking turn of events the supreme council leader Hurl Mondogo had a heart attack while eating dinner. The Quendellian citizens and council are deeply shocked by this as their main leader is gone temporarily and maybe permanently. The countries best factors have come around in an effort to save him after all we wouldn’t want another case of Alexander Philip would we. Without it’s sepreme leader what will this country do in such a dire situation.

The USSR has heard their cries accusing us of betrayal when they harmed the nation they wanted support from, all under the Silvai flag.

However, this time we've chosen mercy. We will negotiate peacefully with representatives of Quendellia and South Quendellia on what to do about this matter.

Rise of the Rebels

The Soviet Union, fearing for it's own safety and that the Quendellians might try to Invade the Soviet Union after they manage to defeat USSR in a civil war, the Soviet Government has sent $40 Billion in supplies, $61 Billion hard cash, and around 1.3 Million Regular Infantry Soldiers. Because of the War in Aetheria, Armored units aren't able to be dispatched yet as around 40% of Soviet armored units are in the battlefield in Aetheria. The Soviet Union then decides to join the USSR in this war, and troops are being dispatched. Around 50 missile silos have BOK CHOY 1st generation unguided missiles on their launchpad and ready to be fired at any moment in time.

Attrition in Aetheria

Soviet Military units have suffered almost 1 million casualties just from capturing Nicaragua, and because of the frequent bombings by Aetherian bombers, attrition has become the main enemy of the Soviet military in Aetheria.

Budget Cuts and Enraged Civilians

Education funding and Welfare have been cut, with Education being cut by 10% and Welfare being hit the hardest, being cut by 75%. Also, Healthcare spending has been cut by 25%. After all the budget cuts, people weren't too bothered by the military or education or even the welfare cuts, but the thing that really set people off was the budget cuts on the citizenship activation benefits. People who activated their citizenships would get free housing, water, electricity, $6,400 in grant money, and basically everything you'd need to survive in the modern world for 3-12 months. Citizenship benefits were cut by half (50%), meaning that you'd still get free housing, water, and electricity but you'd only get $3,200 in starting money, and only for 1-6 months. Protests took place in all the major cities, especially the ones with high population of above 18 million had armed protests with the exception of the Capital city of Aetherwind. The Police force was able to step in before things got out of hand, but either way, protesters are surrounded by police, but do not open fire to prevent an uproar. Soviet Military units eventually moved in and stopped the protesting, this has caused the unrest to soar even more. But they all realized they had one enemy that prevented the Soviet Union from Completely falling apart. Aetheria. Ever since the war and the Aetherian President's arrest, Aetherian army units have launched countless missile and air strikes against mainland Soviet cities, and Soviet military units on the front lines fighting in Aetheria have suffered 1.4 million losses. High war exhaustion, attrition, and mother nature were all our enemies, and the civilians eventually knew that if they continued to fight among themselves because of the budget cuts, the Soviet Union could completely fall apart, and other nations will quickly swoop in and take territory for themselves before the government or army can take any sort of action.

City of Fortgang collapses

The city of Fortgang with 3.5 million population located in Siberia has been destroyed, leading to it's downfall. Because of the frequent missile strikes on Fortgang, the infastructure was in such bad shape that the Provisional Government (Soviet leadership has 3 levels, Municipal, Provisional, State.) ordered it to be destroyed, and everyone be evacuated. Once everyone was evacuated to nearby cities and towns, the self destruct mechanism was activated, and anything within city walls or 0.8 miles radius of the city of Fortgang was obliterated by the blast, and any road or highway leading to Fortgang has been closed off or destroyed.

Theoretical Nuclear Research

And last but not least, the Soviet Research Bureau Agency has started Extensive research on Theoretical Nuclear Research, and is the first of many steps to obtaining nuclear weapons, and is also the main cause of so many budget cuts. The Soviet Bureau Research Agency has already dedicated 80% of it's research power (Agents) to Theoretical Nuclear research, and works day and night. This process is expected to take 6-8 months, maybe even a year, as Uranium atoms are complicated, and can become unstable very quickly. That's all we have for today.

The USSR releases the peace treaty that the Commonwealth of Quendell and the Union of Silver States Republic have agreed upon to end the conflict:

1. "South Quendellia" will be renamed as the Commonwealth of Quendell demands.

2. The new state, aforementioned as the "Buffer State," will have three options, join the Commonwealth of Quendell, become an autonomous country of its own, or remain under the Union of Silver States Republic's control.

TWU:

The Kyrekian government has officially invited top TWU diplomats to Kyrek for a possible alliance. As Kyrek has seen how the TWU has been on the world stage and how it has been treating it's citizens very well, Kyrek has acknowledged that they find those very good. As of now, Kyrek and TWU have no foreign relations with each other expect for being on opposite sides of the world war.

USSR:

The Kyrekian government has also invited USSR diplomats to Kyrek for more talks. The USSR and Kyrek have had fairly good relations recently despite also being on opposite sides of the war. There are talks about letting the USSR station troops on some unspecified Kyrek-controlled islands near, but not on, Kyrek. This will benefit Kyrek for extra safety from a foreign invasion. It will also benefit the USSR by giving them a base in a very strategic position. If the deal goes through, the islands will station USSR (As well as Kyrekian troops) for 3 years unless the deal is ratified. More details are to come soon.

Krell DItren Cash:
The oil man Krell DItren has recently reached a net worth of $1 million. It was met by quite a surprise by many but also a congrats. It is a very rare feet to reach that much money with the heavy taxes on the rich. The government will let him have the $1 million for a week before half the money is taken by the government to be distributed among the poorer Kyrekians. Krell DItren has agreed and says he is happy to give what he got to the poor of Kyrek.

Peace Treaty:

Live reports are coming out of the state of Kendrek. The peace treaty between the clans of Kevva and Grakok will be ending within hours. The Treaty which was signed by both sides 100 years ago is going to end very soon. Although both clans are very small, having 98 and 107 people respectively, it has created worried that the situation might escalate as around 8 other clans/tribes have the potential to join in. The Kyrekian government, has issued to a warning to other clans to stay out of the conflict so that it does not start to spread. The military has also been deployed to Aytena in order to enforce the rule. The Kendrek governor has also been temporarily kicked from power until it is certain that he will not get involved as he is a part of the Vendreda clan which is closely aligned to the Kevva Clan. Member of the Grakok clan have been calling for him to step down for the past few hours as both sides start to arm themselves for the imminent fighting. Although the fighting in for a small (2 by 4 mile), nonstrategic piece of land, both sides have refused to let themselves look weak by giving it up to the other. The military has deployed 3,000 troops to the area, for more soldiers then any of the clans have. They have also sent in 10 tanks and have threatened to attack any clan that tries to involve themselves by helping their ally. This has caused tension in all of Kyrek as many see this as the government trying to change their warrior way of life. The government has also tried to take the guns away from both sides of the conflict to keep casualties at a minimum although this has gone badly.
JUST IN! A warrior from the Kevva clan has started firing gunshots into the air to possibly start the conflict. We will be pulling our reporters out of the area to keep them safe.

Shipping Lanes:

The shipping lane that normally goes through that area of Kendrek has temporarily been shut down and ships have been rerouted up north.This is because both clans are very close to the route and there are fears that they might try to attack any ships that pass by as a show of force.

The Union of Silver States Republic has announced some reforms within the nation:

1. The military's spending will be halved, as a result, some units will be affected within the military. This includes:
1. a. The Weltuntergangstruppen project has been terminated.

1. c. The Ekranoplan project has been reduced, with half of the fleet expected to be scrapped.
1. d. The Navy has also been reduced, with half of the navy expected to also be scrapped for good.

All the USSR will have are traditional military units. The freed funding will allow the reduction of taxes significantly.

2. As a result of this, the Australians have found a new opportunity to rebel against the country. This time, we left them. From here-on-forth, the USSR will NOT control NOR represent the territories it had in Australia.

Due to this, it is commonplace to find Australians posing in front of abandoned USSR facilities and armored vehicles.

3. Elections are coming up within the nation, the two leading parties are the National Socialist Party and the National Communist Party. It is thought that the NCP is supported by the Red Menace, and it seems to gain traction and popularity within the country, especially after the new reforms.

The Soviet Constitution of 2024 has been successfully re-written, and being remodeled after the Present-Day United States Constitution, people now have more freedom and a say in what laws get created in exchange for some, minor stuff. Now Instead of The Soviet Union being governed by a Single State Government, and the President having the Most power out of all the State government officials, now the Soviet Union has been divided up into 144 states, each state having it's own government that is oversaw by Congress and the Federal Government. The Federal Government now composes of three Branches of Government: Legislative (Congress, divided up into the House of Representatives and the Senate), Executive (President, Vice President, and Defense Helmet), and Judicial (Supreme Court). However, a fourth Branch may be created for the Defense Helmet (AKA Head of Defense) and the Defense Administration. Voting is still taking place on whether a Fourth Branch should be added, and hence, an eighth Article to the Soviet Constitution.

The Soviet Union is still a Communist Nation, but with democratic votings, and the Powers of Government equally divided, but the President still has the power to override laws made by congress, but the Supreme Court will determine if the Presidential Override is Constitutional or not, including the Laws made by congress.

WESTWARD EXPANSION STOPPED

The Soviet Union, now fighting a war with Aetheria, and expanding in both directions, east and west, at the same time, this has led to budget cuts in welfare and education, and the department that got hit the hardest was healthcare. People are now rebelling, and 44 out of the 144 states are proposing to rebel from the Soviet Union. And with votes from over 99 of the 144 states, and the requirement was the approval of 120 states for anything to be approved or passed, the Soviet Union decided to hold on it's expansion westward, pull some units out of the Aetherian front, and start charging the funds back into the healthcare, education, and welfare departments. This has seemed to satisfy most of the States that made a big stink out of this, so most states withdrew their votes. But 4 of the states, ones with large populations too, with 14 million to 20 million population in those 4 states, this means they got more representatives in the Soviet House of Representatives, and could be enough to overpower the states with smaller populations. More on that later.

MILITARY BUDGET CUT

The Soviet Congress eventually decided the main cause for the tax raises and the budget cuts was because of the insane military spending, which has already exceeded the limit of 20% GDP ($56.8 Trillion), and is spending over 35% GDP on military. So Congress decided to cut the Military budget to 2/5 of what it already is, meaning 14% GDP, which is around $20-$30 trillion. This means that expansion in Alaska would be significantly slowed, and advancing in Aetheria would be impossible, so Soviet military units are told to entrench where they already are, and wait until further notice, and defend their position when neccessary.

In addition, the ASYF supports the TWU's efforts in claiming the USSR's lands. We will not intervene directly, however, we will make sure that all groups' rights are respected.

As the only two major socialist countries in the world, the ASYF has sought to solidify its ties with the TWU. This has been done through military exchanges, with technology flowing in both ways. The TWU, a major naval power, and also a purveyor of former USSR equipment, has sent designs to the ASYF military bureaus for inspection, testing, and development. In turn, the ASYF has sent several of its CSA fighters along with its signature LT tanks to the TWU for the same purposes and intents.

Despite being actively hostile against each other in the months following WWI, nowadays, the relation between these countries has evolved into a careful neutrality. Over the past two years, neither country's government has actively denounced nor commended the other, although embassies may reopen soon.

~~~ The SRC ~~~
After the USSR collapsed, the ASYF has remained the sole protector of the SRC, which still exists under the shadow of Terrae Karunthaie. Rumors have been flying that the SRC may join the ASYF as 20th state. The central government has spoken in favor of the motion, however, the SRC government is yet to comment.

~~~ DEUS ~~~
After DEUS's new leader was recently elected, the ASYF has maintained its distance of the increasingly-hostile nation, however, we still hope that the new leadership will calm down.

Internal Civil Affairs

With this movement gaining traction in the past three years, talks over independence have accelerated rapidly, possibly arriving in the next two months. The ASYF government is yet to outline its conditions for independence, however.

~~~ Internal state division ~~~
During the first year post-WWI, both the newly-joined STC and Spacelandian governments complained that too much power was concentrated in the state government of Ypres. As such, negotiators from all sides convened in New Ypres in February of the second post-WWI year to redraw the boundaries. Forming 19 new states, all measures have been taken to insure that each state has equal representation in the central government's actions.

The last elections held in the ASYF were held just prior to WWI, when the rising right demanded that the ASYF take a much larger role on the international stage. Now, 5 years later, election are around the corner again. No strong changes are predicted, although a surprise may still occur.

Military Research
Although several ASYF military projects have a stated goal in mind, quite a few are simply continous development programs, hence the fact that they are still ongoing.

The last LT tank publicly announced was the LT-2413, announced the year after WWI. This tank now forms the backbone of the Yprian Ground Forces, although development has still continued.

~~~ Project CSA ~~~
The CSA project has proceeded slower than the LT projects, as further extensive development has been deemed unnecessary according to current military conditions. However, using existing planes, more specialized variants have been created.

The D-DAY project has officially been completed. With assistance from TWU scientists, we have created landing fleets capable of deploying to any corner of the globe within 3 weeks. The original target of one week has been deemed impractical considering shipping limitations in our time, however, this is now the target of a new project, Project Serpent (which, unlike D-DAY, is a long-term project).

Communist Party

The Communist Party has long since ruled the Soviet Union since the collapse of the previous Neutralist Union Government, and even though previous posts have said that the Communist Party will continue to dominate Soviet Presidential Elections, that is about to change. According to a top news reporter, people all over the nation who are now slowly starting to turn against the Communist Party have said "The Soviet Union has done nothing for us. They have invaded Aetheria, and they didn't have a single valid reason or explanation to do so. They have sent hundreds of thousands of men away from their families to go fight in some pointless war. We want the Communist Party overthrown, as soon as possible." Now, the newly popular Democratic party has surpassed the Republican party and is about to surpass the Communist Party in terms of popularity.

War in Aetheria stopped

President Ethan and Aetherian Emperor Natalie have met up in secret, and agreed to stop fighting, with both sides taking heavy losses, and high war exhaustion rampaging both nations, Ethan and Natalie have agreed to sign a peace treaty, with the Soviet Union paying $16 Billion each month in War reparations while in return, Aetheria will consider people with a passport from the Soviet Union as Aetherian citizens and allow free passage. Same will go for the Soviet Union.

Soviet Union doomed to collapse

Many states, over 57 out of the 144 states of the Soviet Union to be exact, have deserted support of the Communist Party, and joined the Democratic party. The Soviet Union is doomed to failure and almost certain collapse if the number reaches 78 states or more. Protests broke out in major cities all over the country. However, the government has taken a move that might have been the difference between life or death of the nation. Instead of instructing military units in each city to crack down on protesters, like we usually have, the government instead offered a $700 Billion settlement distributed equally among the 530 million population to quiet things down for a bit. This quickly changed many of the states minds about switching parties, which dropped the number from 57 to only 14 still wanting to rebel.

Widespread Insurgency

During the absence of the Soviet Government and President Ethan, Insurgencies have spread up all over the nation, and since the Government was very late to respond to this, Insurgents are now roaming the streets of small towns and some small to medium sized cities. The Government has then realized how bad the situation was after all the events that happened, so they quickly mobilized 750,000 soldiers and 7,500 armored units and distributed them equally to the cities and towns under the control of the Insurgents. The Government also sent out a national broadcast, warning everyone to have at least a ranged and melee weapon by their side at all times, no exceptions, even when they are sleeping. It's not required, but it's for the people's safety. Internet has also been shut down in all the government buildings (Municipal, State, and Federal), and has advised all people to use encrypted landline phones installed at each house, and try to refrain from using cell phones or the internet, because even as secure as software security gets, it's still pretty easy to hack and tap into these devices. Also, the Government has also advised it's citizens that if any insurgents do show up at their residency, immediately hide in a safe place with a weapon, melee or ranged, and call immediate protection services, similar to emergency services, but now with soldiers patrolling every street, the military will show up in usually less than 60 seconds, which is not enough time to find your hiding place.

International Relations

The Soviet Union has also flew diplomats to various different countries in an attempt to re-ignite, rebuild, and strengthen relations with them. Diplomats are sent to the Kyrek, Terrae Karunthaie, the SRC, DEUS, The Workers United, The United States of Aetheria (USA), and the Ypres front in an attempt to discuss matters with them.

Karunethiae Government
After much inactivity, the government has decided that it is necessary that the nation remilitarises and expands, due to expansion from other states recently. Therefore, 600,000 forces are being sent to Australia. They are expected to land at Perth in 6 weeks, and will re-establish order over the abandoned USSR colony. As well as this, Terrae Karunethiae has sent ultimatums to The Flerkens and Vaastia, demanding they allow Karunethiae forces to enter their nation and occupy areas of strategic importance in order to keep Europe secure. Neither nation has responded to either ultimatum yet, however, Karunethiae forces have mobilised in their hundreds of thousands on the border, and large pets of the navy have begun patrolling the North Sea in order to “keep the peace” Trump has stated that “These effects are necessary in order to keep stability in Europe, and I think that we need to destroy any possible threat to European peace, mkay? This temporary military access will allow us to ensure they don’t attack us. Don’t worry”
