Unlikely that the tank crew would recognize it at first (they’re using NVD’s or thermals and are likely to open fire at it before recognizing that this is an incident of blue on blue fire). Did the SPRL command notify the Lakan forces in the embassy regarding these BMP’s?

By the way the civilians were given blue armbands to prevent blue on blue fire and to make them legitimate combatants.

Lakans just fire on the BMP’s because they are told to fire first think second and because they weren’t explicitly told that friendlies were coming and simply state that the helos can’t do stuff while others stop to identify the BMP. I like little details like that

Orbat: 2nd battalion of 1st Brigade from Division 90Z (~500) plus occasional "technical support" from regular Hurti military air and naval assets to help get themselves situated.
Extra: Being a '93 RP, this'd technically be something of a prequel-reboot for me... huh, this means Mendez still got his legs since he didn't lose them until an orbital parachute drop in '08.

This also means metal gear shenanigans will be at a minimum.
