Nattia wrote:The Provisional Council of State considered the foreign aid deal of Saint Asperes and decided fairly quickly that they would accept the deal of the billions and the training and certainly the fighter jets. It would mark a new flooding of wealth into the nation’s treasury and go to the reconstruction efforts of the many planned projects. At the suggestion of Koski, a new Provisional Ministry of Public Works was formed in order to organize, budget and record the many projects that would need to go on across the country.

The Provisional Council then turned their attention to the question of the monarchy. The greatest question the Royalists had ignored throughout the fighting days had been on who would actually sit the throne. The House of Bentheim-Steinfurt had ruled for over a hundred and twenty years, but had completely died out at the violent hands of Leo Pekkarinen. So it was decided that they would select a new monarch, with a new House. But who to choose.

Some had suggested a native Nattian— but perhaps to some surprise, no one who might have been suitable wanted the job. Besides, the Triumvirate, worried about a new Pekkarinen who might try to seize power didn’t want a rival from within the realm. Instead it was agreed that a foreign noble should be selected— one who was noble or royal, to appease the Royalists— while also not a threat to the new order of things. And, it was agreed a well chosen king would secure new alliances and friendly relations with other monarchies.

This still left the actual matter of choosing. Saint Asperes and Genes both had already thrown their proverbial hats in. To Saint Asperes a message was sent.

The Provisional Council is willing to consider a member of the House of Castenac for the throne. We ask that a profile of these most esteemed of noble blood be sent so that we may have more details in our consideration.

To Ambassador Moresco, the Provisional Council said,

“We are greatly honored to have you here in Nattia, your lordship, and we thank your king for his continued humanitarian assistance in Nattia. We too hope we may work well together in the future, and we are willing to consider His Majesty’s grandsons for the throne. We ask that a profile of these most esteemed of noble blood be sent so that we may have more details in our consideration.”

Thus to both royal courts were sent the following in regards to their would be candidates.

Name:
Title:
House:
Age:
Sex:
Religion:
Military Experience?:
Marital Status:
Children:
In line to inherit another throne?:
Political Views:
Connections to other nations or monarchs?:
Open to changing their name?:

This inquiry was shaped around what the Provisional Council thought would be important in a new monarch. They wanted someone noble, preferably a man, neither too old or too young, not set to inherit another kingdom, and who would adopt Nattian values and name. Marriage, children, religion and the rest could be negotiated on it was felt.

As for Inha and Raita, they thanked Nataye for his visit, but made no promises, save that the new monarch should be the one who could bring the greatest prosperity to the new kingdom. As far as they were concerned, this throne was best suited for whoever could pay them the most for it while also being an easily managed puppet of the Triumvirate.

Name: Phillip
Title: Duke Octoteers
House: Castenac
Age: 42
Sex: Male
Religion: Asperesian Christianity
Military Experience?: Armed Forces Branch ( Army - 18 years)
Marital Status: Married
Children: Prince Wheliham, Prince Louis, Princess Valloria, Princess Taylor (- the oldest)
In line to inherit another throne?: Not - Married into the family his wife is 4th in line, His majesty wife is already bearing a child, HM already has one child already, the chances are slim if the Duke and his wife accents to the throne.
Political Views: Social conservative
Connections to other nations or monarchs?: King Shahniln I of Saint Asperes
Open to changing their name?: Yes

The Count of Moresco accepted the Provisional Council’s words and quickly went to work on his plan of attack. Meeting up with Nataye following his understanding with the Triumvirate, they considered their options. King Frederick IV had done much in his effort to steer Nattia towards Genoise interests, and the matter of money— though annoying, was not of issue. But the King of Genes had set his sights on the Nattian crown for his grandson and he meant to succeed in that endeavor. He selected the younger of his daughter’s children, Yonas as the proposed new king— believing that as a young man he could better adapt to Nattia, and that the Triumvirate would assume he’d be easier to control.

In line to inherit another throne?: unlikely to ever succeed the throne, but is 5th-in-line to the Genoise Throne
Political Views: social liberal
Connections to other nations or monarchs?: maternal grandson of the King of Genes
Open to changing their name?:Yes

Along with the arrival of this dossier on Lord Yonas Hollande came with it a proposal for eight hundred million dérrals of foreign aid to Nattia with a proposal of the establishment of a free trade agreement between the two nations as part of their Nattian Recovery Program, designed to rebuild the Nattian infrastructure as well as infuse energy into their economy.

Privately meanwhile Nataye was authorized to promise the Triumvirate a sum of 164 million dérrals, predicated on the ascension of the king’s grandson to the throne.

The Arakhkharan Delegation was greeted by Edvard Virta, the latest in a slew of secretaries hired by Janhunen as he tried to tackle the massive effort of rebuilding the nation. Virta escorted the Arakhkharans to a waiting motorcade that escorted them from Harjukuapunki to Otsopaa— a dramatic difference as they left the dark larger city for the shining smaller beacon of light that was the provisional capital. Upon arrival, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kain Juhola greeted the delegation, dressed formally in his military uniform as he was selected to handle the hashing out of the details of the treaty between Nattia and Arakhkhar

The Intendant presented the following draft of the treaty after having settled into the provisional capital - dressed in purple silk robes adorned with silver, the delegation looked quite ornamental, although they were indeed potent diplomats.

Arakhkharan-Nattian Treaty of Mutual Assistance and Cooperation
We, the Principality of Arakhkhar, and the Kingdom of Nattia, hold that it is within the best interest of both realms to engage in cooperation in the military, social, and economic spheres. This treaty shall aid in the recovery of Nattia from its brutal civil war, and we sincerely hope it shall foster cooperation between our nations, owing to mutual prosperity.

  2. The Principality of Arakhkhar pledges its armed forces to defend the Kingdom of Nattia, and the Kingdom of Nattia pledges its armed forces to the defense of the Principality of Arakhkhar.
  3. That the combined arms forces of both respective nations will engage in military cooperation, in such fields as humanitarian aid, interventions, and other wars befitting the necessities of either party, at the discretion of the respective government.
  4. That the Arakhkharan Ministry of Economic development shall aid in the reconstruction of Foutila, through the construction of infrastructure, housing, and other matters relating to construction to be determined by a joint oversight council. The Ministry of Economic development is to purchase 60% of the shares in the Foutila Port Authority, price to be negotiated at a later date.
  5. That the Kingdom of Nattia is to host an Arakhkharan naval base in the city of Foutila. That the ships and personnel stationed here would defend the Kingdom of Nattia upon request by legitimate authority of the Nattian government.
  6. That the Arakhkharan naval base will contain a naval education facility, to foster mutual understanding and develop a greater military cooperation, Arakhkharan instructors will instruct Nattian and Arakhkharan naval officers at this site.

  9. That the Principality of Arakhkhar and the Kingdom of Nattia agree to a treaty of extradition, wherein which any subject of such nation guilty of a crime in one of the respective realms may be extradited to the other for trial/punishment.
  10. That further matters of cooperation are to be conducted through the establishment of embassies in both Novalira, the capital of Arakhkhar, and a chosen location in Nattia, to be selected by the Nattian government.

Hevos
As the conflict came to a swift close and tensions evaporated, Pilzni personnel resorted their efforts. The Royal Volunteer Corps was disarmed and demobilized notwithstanding devout volunteers, ready to rebuild alongside Pilzni and their former adversaries-turned-allies. In the following days of the conflict, Pilzni soldiers removed their military equipment back aboard a new convoy which appeared offshore. Helicopters ferried back-and-forth military equipment for civilian aid materials and heavy-duty equipment. The remaining soldiers were then bolstered by the arrival civilians (contractors, engineers, doctors, and teachers) who were to assist in the reconstruction efforts. As efforts to construct Leibor River Bridge continued even before hostilities ended, the main bridge and road connecting the city of Hevos and the capitol are nearing completion. A solemn monument, constructed out of bridge rubble (designed by a young soldier), was erected over the spot where HQ once stood, and also where remains of those who were killed in the airstrike were interred.

Hevanpaa
A large medical convoy approached the city where they were greeted with a depressing sight. The city lay in ruins and thousands of homeless people lay sitting along its rubble lined roads. "This is horrible" said the convoy commander, a young brunette woman with a red cross patch on her arm and a beret on her head. As they approached, the city roads were untraversable, the convoy stopped. Immediately, unarmed soldiers and civilians disembarked, and set up a large generator. A sizeable area was chosen for a helicopter landing zone and they began erecting a large field hospital. Some helicopters from the offshore convoy began to drop in medical supplies and aid (food, water, water purification tablets). A helicopter was fitted with large speakers was sent over the city with the message in Nattian: "Food, water, medicine directly east on the edge of city limits". As the hospital was prepared, some soldiers began the process of clearing roads, East of the city.

Juhola, reviewing the terms of the treaty found the terms acceptable, the matter of the Port Authority in Foutila was a point that counted against it, but after some consideration it was determined that it was an acceptable condition, with a price to be determined that would sooth the minds of the government.

Admiral Harjula was this summon, dressed in full ceremonial military regalia for the signing. As Regent, while holding no true power, he was technically head of state and was thus the stamp the treaty needed approval from.

Reconstruction of bridges continues despite protests, as infantry try to be reasonable with ferries. It was worrying to see other nations not even tied to the war attempting to jump in, though, that was according to state media given baseless rumors of such meant to drive reconstruction in a cruel bout of mockery.

Gonswanza however was going to try something insane, once utilities for water were restored, as generators continued to just barely keep the lights on. The proposal was a modular nuclear reactor, under a sort of "atoms for peace" style mission, but the idea had to fly by not just the local council but the national council as a whole, given this grand idea to offer powerful reactors installed within weeks to restore power, a fast and expandable solution given modularity. A revolutionary idea that was proven safe, but of course the general public tended to treat nuke reactors with excessive controversy under the idea of them being bombs waiting to go off despite science saying otherwise.

Even then, buildings and generators keep flying in as the more immediate area finally sees a night where the lights can stay on, streetlights flickering on in some areas, while others had spotlights from military generators burning through the night.

A new school was also being built up, intended to assist locals, as well as a soup kitchen offering hot meals to the displaced, the latter being from a charity that desired little more than thanks for their gratitude. The military presence however was growing weary given the scattered efforts, especially with the chance idea of imperial powers trying to restore the monarchy to undo everything that they fought for.

The Provisional Council of State studied the sent in dossiers on the would be royals who might sit upon the Nattian throne. The question of which to pick quickly became an unexpectedly intense debate.

Koski and Nurmi were staunch royalists and sought to recreate the monarchy by strong traditionalist elements, and wanted a monarch who would reflect this. Meanwhile Wirtanen and Halonen were favorable to a weak monarch who would not challenge the young new constitutional institutions of the nation. Meanwhile Vanhalato again was left to be the mediator, though he himself was not free from bias.

While Vanhalato loathed the Gonswanzans , more with each passing day and news of their fumbling bumbling efforts to ‘help’, he could not but hold a strikingly different opinion of the Pilzni. Pilzn had been one of the only nations to actually respect Hevos’ neutrality turning the war, and they had left Vanhalato with a good impression. Indeed, had it been left to Vanhalato alone, all but the Pilzni would have been expelled from Nattia and their candidate swiftly offered the throne.

Alas, Vanhalato did not rule allow—if one could argue ruled at all. Koski and Nurmi bother liked Duke Philip— he was the oldest of the candidates, married and had four children of his own already. For them, wishing to secure the future of the monarchy, this was a great boon as it guaranteed an heir and spare, and future generations.

Wirtanen and Halonen however were concerned. Duke Philip was a military man, and they had enough military men in the influence of the nation. And worse, there was a fear that the if the new king held such long connections to the military might prompt him to try to snuff out the constitution and rule as an absolute monarch— and with the memory of Pekkarinen and his military rule so fresh in everyone’s mind, that was no mere fantasy, but to be treated as a possibility. Thus they preferred Lord Yonas, who was younger than they might have liked, was less likely to prove a threat.

Vanhalato meanwhile championed the candidacy of Countess Nata. He argued that she was precisely what they were looking for. She was neither a teenager, nor middle aged, while having military experience, but not enough to threaten the order of things.

“I quite like the ring of Nata of Nattia. She is a strong, moderate choice. And she is the only one of them to have ever actually step foot on Nattian soil.”

“You are forgetting one thing, sir,” Wirtanen said however. “She is a woman.”

“No woman has ever ruled Nattia,” Koski said.

“It would be unthinkable,” Nurmi asserted. “We are a kingdom, we must have a king. What would we do when she falls pregnant?”

“Pregnancy is not some illness one catches.” Vanhalato scoffed. “Do not be daft. Women are just as capable as men, oft more so. Have you forgotten Betha Pukki? Or that are citizens are to be all men and women? Why on this would we discriminate on sex?”

“Because this is a matter of the monarchy— of the kingdom. It is not only an inheritance, but an office— one not fit to be held by a woman. It is simply the order of things.”

“That is ridiculous—“

“It is the order of things,” Wirtanen echoed firmly. “We all have our roles. Men and women, the high and the low. The king and the realm. Let us stick to them.”

With this, much to the dismay of Vanhalato, the lone protester, a decision was made. Only a man could sit or inherit the Nattian throne.

Vanhalato was still steaming at this, when word arrived from the Triumvirate. They had decided who which of the royals they ‘advised’ the Provisional Council on who to select. Inha and Raita were eager to line their pockets with Genoise gold, and the child the King of Genes meant to send them was a perfect puppet to dangling in front of the people.

Thus it was commanded. The Provisional Council sent an official offer to Genes, inviting Lord Yonas Hollande to take the throne of Nattia.

Nattia
The effort continues. Pilzni volunteers, soldiers, and others remain determined in their missions to assist in rebuilding efforts. However, it has come to the attention that rapid influxes of supplies continue to be thrown into the nation without much coordination. As the provisional government continues to sort out politics and governance, it seems assistance is necessary to adequately disperse needed aid to those in dire need. Leading the efforts, is the young female captain. She leaves the tent, after a successful surgery, for an interview. Frustrated by the lack of support, she sends out a passionate, yet commanding message to all nations involved via video and radio:

”We, the nations helping Nattia rebuild, must work together to finish this job. Aid continues to sit offshore, in port, or on a platform. Too few nations, if any, have worked together and collaborated on this matter. This needs to end now. For this to be done right, we need cooperation: not selfish competition. I invite participating nations to serve alongside each other and coordinate between ourselves and the provisional council to effectively execute our mission. Our lines communication are open and awaiting your response.”

With that, she returns to her duties.

The Marajarbian Government would commend the statement, and the Marajarbian Construction and Shipping Group would officially begin making preparations to assist the Pilzni men and women that have volunteered to help Nattia in the aftermath of a very brutal civil war that will have major geopolitical consequences upon the world.

However, following the strike on Hevos during the civil war, there are concerns by some in the Marajarbian Government that Pilzni volunteers and soldiers would be somewhat reluctant to receive Marajarbian support. It was uncertain for now, as the statement made a big point, cooperation is necessary in order to help Nattia in its long reconstruction process.

The krowian government and corporations proposals are pending upon the new, more democratic government in place. Which will bring more jobs and influx of well needed financial power to rebuild the nation in the positive direction. Further, once the proposed projects are complete, the nation will be on par with the top tier nations in the world and a reduction in civil tensions.

The Intendant of International Affairs, Karina, waited with abated breath.
She, and her entourage - in full ceremonial garb, with their silken Imperial-style robes adorned with silver, were quite pleased with the relative ease of negotiations.
Of course, the convoys full of construction equipment were already en-route - merely awaiting for final approval.
With them, they carried heavy construction equipment, building materials, generators, prefabricated housing kits for worker use temporarily. A total of 10 or so ships could be found in this convoy - traveling under escort by two Silent-Imperium class nuclear submarines, in the case pirates had got any funny ideas.
Their first goal would be to restore the city of Foutila’s port - to handle the sheer volume of supplies that would be delivered. For temporary usage, several floating harbors - typically used for amphibious assaults, would be used to handle the sheer volume of supplies and equipment now en-route to Nattia.
With them, a host of Arakhkharan corporate advisors, architects, engineers, and logistics specialists were to accompany them.
The intent was not just to rebuild Foutila - but to build a better one. A port for the entire country, capable of handling massive amounts of trade volume, of harboring and refueling military vessels - even ones as large as the newly finished Arakhkharan aircraft carrier.

Despite having no input on the message, the government of Gonswanza instead reply in kind, rattling off mild demands, along with some plans for the future, though the main focus was housing, power, aid and reconstruction.

Even with so many put to work given livable wages, the people had little to spend on. The worry of deflation was shot down, however, as shops were set up to help life return to normal slightly. Even with food being handed out, these shops offered small luxuries like toys, shirts, flags, even larger things like shovels or school supplies for a rather obscenely low cost. These little things were meant to help civilians slowly return to normal life, even as infantry patrolled the streets in AH-2s and later Sword APCs, to maintain order, though even soldiers had to sleep. Some soldiers however were taken in by the locals, given a hot meal and a warm bed, rather than sticking it out in the cold outside under tents, munching on stale cookies from MREs and huddling around a fire, while commanders directed them from heated prefab constructs that barely fit their own gear, or mobile HQs.

Indeed, the situation was depraved, but not dire.

Otsopaa, Nattia

The Ministry of Public Works was struggling to organize matters, a sentiment that had been expressed and had seen Countess Nata quick to take up a role as an unofficial champion for getting the various other nations that while perhaps having good intention, were working at break neck speeds that was sparking chaos across the country. Instead of one cohesive plan, there seemed instead to be several dozen ones that were all competing with one another. This, it had been determined by the Provisional Council, could no longer be tolerated.

To great irony, the councilors realized that they needed a strong, singular vision to handle this matter of reconstruction. They needed a dictator.

No, not a political dictator, but rather a bureaucratic one. Thus the Ministry of Public Works searched for one. They settled on one Elma Vuorela, a minor civil engineer and architect from Otsopaa. It had been at Vanhatalo’s insistence they had selected a woman to take the lead. Vuorela was not particularly well known, nor particularly successful, but when a aide was sent to visit her office, which was comprised of just herself and four other designers, the aide had reported back that Vuorela would have made Pekkarinen look like a pussycat in comparison. She ran her designers like a general, was unbending, ambitious and meticulous. She was energetic, audacious and unbending in her walk, her talk and her ideas. Her commands inspired fear and her plans appreciation for a brilliant mind.

Vanhatalo and the other councilors thus agreed that they had found their man— or rather their woman.

Vuorela was appointed as the Civil Director of Reconstruction, and was placed in charge of all the design, plans and projects of all projects in the nation, and left answerable only to the Provisional Council. Vuorela did not waste time in her new position, quickly drafting up plans, formulating ideas and marking them down. Only hours after achieving the new job, Vuorela was issuing out orders.

Vuorela’s Ordinances

All construction in Nattia by foreign and domestic companies were to be halted for the next twenty-four hours. All projects would be organized into three categories:

  • Megaprojects
  • National Projects
  • Community projects

All construction projects in Nattia would require at leave half of laborers be Nattian, while at least 15% of technical, skilled or managerial positions had to be held by Nattians.

Construction in Hevanpaa, Alajari, and Salosaari was to stop until further notice.

Bridge projects were to be organized into nine projects, considered National Projects, and each assigned to a company either foreign or domestic by bidding. Companies are to strictly adhere to worker safety guidelines, including safety gear, minimum training and accident prevention.

Worker settlements are to be constructed outside of city and/or town limits, in a grid pattern in a rectangular form, a perimeter ditch around it, an earthen and wooden wall. There must be four main gates and an administrative building in the center. Houses are to be built for 120 square feet per person. Buildings are to be constructed using native Nattian Northern Pine, are to have a low-pitched saddle-back roof and feature square axe-cut corner-timbering.

Workers are to build these settlements themselves.

Priority reconstruction zones shall be drafted and those projects are to be the first to recommence work on at the direction of the Ministry of Public Works.

Failure to comply with Ministry of Public Works ordinances shall result in arrest and imprisonment at the discretion of the ministry.

The already poorly planned Gonswanzan effort stalled at the drop of a hat. Yet, crews still worked þo return power, Nephilim Nuclear spearheading the effort as the reactors arrived, only for the military to seize them under the given order. Hope that was an atom away was now held hostage, as the long road to recovery truly began.

Faust, which had attempted to enter the area, found themselves under the gun as various operators were arrested, mercenaries without a job seeking to expand the cruel grip of their trade. The Gonswanzans pointed them out as a mild nuisance, though it did markedly tank confidence in Faust's expansion into Nattia.

Still, there was now the looming problem of the mobile, modular reactors. Under the sharp act, they were now thrown into limbo, a viable solution for power, but one that had to be fought for by the blacked out cities struggling to get by.

Vuorela, never one to delay, issued what she called the Priority Reconstruction Zone map, a designation of the areas of Nattia that needed to be rebuilt first. As she presented it to the Provisional Council, she was met with faces of dumbfoundment. The zone completely excluded all the major cities save for Foutila— which itself was little more craters and ashes.

And that was exactly the point. Vuorela had realized that part of the source of the chaos was the manner in which rebuilding had been tackled. The larger cities, which yes had seen technically more damage, were the first to receive aid. This was causing everyone from the rural area which were far more damaged comparatively to rush to the larger cities and overwhelm them, worsening everything for everyone. To prevent and reverse this, Vuorela had determined that it would be better to start in the rural countryside as it would draw people back, and alleviate the stresses put on the larger cities.

The focus of her attention went to Luopa, in the center of the country, and had been completely obliterated by the fighting and was vital in connecting the east and west of the country and was thus to serve as a blank canvas, and model town for all future reconstruction projects, which Vuorela would design herself.

Field Hospital Alpha, outside Hevanpaa
The Countess was (privately) stunned and slightly angered at the dictatorial commands announced by Vuorela. "While she has a point on the population swell, the people were here before aid even got here. Despite her orders, this hospital is not moving. We have too many people here who need to be helped." To humor these new demands, small medical detachments were dispatched to the South of the city to help those in the countryside. Discussions between Pilzn and Gonswanza have been fruitful and were gaining ground to assist each other with the city. Pilzn, with the help of Gonswanza, aim to tackle the issues befallen our area.

Teams outside Hevos have finished repairing the bridge and road connecting it to the capitol. The bridge, now knows as Unity Bridge, has been reconstructed and is ready for use. Teams will now be directed, in slew of these new demands, to the Northeast of the city into the countryside to provide assistance to locals. Pilzn, already using the assistance of local Nattians and encouraging their participation, continue to tackle their tasks with their help.

The countess is in the process of organizing the National Reconstruction Advisory Board. This board will consist of experts: consultants and engineers from each participating nation, to be a part of this board to work with the government, presumably with Vuorela or the council, to collaborate on active projects, future planning, and aid distribution. All nations are strongly encouraged to participate.

The countess, after night had fallen and had worked a solid 17 hour day, responded to the South Marajarbians personally:
We understand your hesitation. While both sides did harm to one another, we dont see it as a limiting factor. We are no longer enemies, our swords are sheathed. Let us set aside the past and focus on the future for the people of Nattia. Lets collaborate on tasks.

As efforts are being pushed around by the new organization under the government, the Gonswanzans regrettably follow along, though in turn, this meant leaving the modular reactors on the beach, in secure containers, while worried protestors are waved off by infantry and kept away from the new, hopefully, temporary restricted area.

Even then, the intent soon changed to replacing powerplants with modular nuke plants, to supplement the grid before the plants are fully restored to full operating capacity, though another solution could use the plants themselves to adapt to nuclear, as the modular reactors are installed into the existing buildings with some minor modifications done and reconstruction committed to purely to bring things up to operational status before the reactors achieve criticality for power production.

But of course, one had to rebuild bridges first, and then ensure said bridges won't collapse, before moving a whole fuckload of stuff over them.

Engineers are moved around, in hopes of working with the locals, while armored cranes are also moved around, in an attempt to get them where they are needed. Even if it meant taking backwoods routes on unpaved roads.

Given that construction was undertaken as a public works project by the local municipalities with Gonswanzan oversight and aid, Nattians already made more than 40% of the workforce, though it was increasingly difficult to determine who was and wasn't Nattian given passports could easily be faked, with the collapse of the former government and a new government taking over quickly, without any system in place for identification or passports.

The Marajarbian Federation, alongside the Marajarbian Construction and Shipping Group, would agree to the terms of the Nattian Provisional Council’s Ministry of Public Works. Since Nattians were being hired by the Marajarbian Construction and Shipping Group already, the hired Nattians made up more than 15% of the workforce, as construction would begin on workers settlements for the combined workforce of Marajarbians and Nattians.

King Frederick IV was in his office when the invitation of the Nattian throne arrived for his grandson. It was of course brought to him, the king, who swiftly accepted the offer on behalf of his grandson. The king then sent for his daughter, Princess Meseret and her son Yonas, who were brought to his office.

King Frederick IV rose from his seat from behind his desk, a great smile on his face as he loooed at his daughter and the youngest of his grandchildren.

“I have wonderful news. Yonas, you are to be the new King of Nattia!”

There was a gasp from Princess Meseret, who covered her mouth in stunned shock, before a sound of delight overcame her. She removed her hand and smiled bright. “Oh, this is certainly a wonderful day indeed!”

“Nor is that all. I have spoken with King Shahniln of Saint Asperes. He wished for his cousin-in-law, Duke Philips of Octoteers to take the throne, but we have found a brilliant compromise. Yonas is to marry the Duke’s daughter, Princess Taylor of Saint Asperes.”

“What?” Yonas asked, a stunned expression on his face. “But—“

“How wonderful!” Meseret interrupted her son. “I shall have a daughter-in-law. And soon enough with any luck a grandchild.”

“Preferably a boy. I want a great-grandson,” the king said.

“Excuse me,” Yonas said, stepping between his mother and grandfather, looking between them. “But what is going on? I… I haven’t the slightest clue about this. Nattia? I could not point that out on a map. And I have never even met Princess Taylor, how can I be marrying her.”

King Frederick waved his hand dismissively. “It has been arranged. And decided on.”

“But—“

“There are not buts here,” the king said with a sudden forcefulness as he looked at his grandson. The king was not an impressive man in stature, but he spoke with power and authority that shocked Yonas into silence. The King straighten his back. “You are to go to Nattia, and you are to be their king. You rule them. You marry the princess and you will create a new dynasty that shall cement its place in this new land, do you understand? It is not a question of if you want it, if you can not place it on a map, then I have buy you an atlas, if you do not know this girl, you have plenty of time to learn about her. A meeting is to be arranged. You are charm her, as you are to charm the Nattians. But you will do as you are commanded.”

Lord Yonas nodded his head solemnly.

“Very good. You may go.”

With this the young king-elect was dismissed, his mother in tow. The King of Genes went back to his desk and sent word back to the Provisional Council, announcing that his grandson had graciously and eagerly accepted their generous offer of their throne.

ISIC:
While there was a slow panic within the halls of Kotun, something about a UFO violating air space, the MoD decides to send a representative to Nattia to help reorganize the armed forces and offer sales of military equipment, while MoTI slams their own representative in just before they miss the chance to resolve the nuclear problem. All in all, it was a hectic day, as the two board an aircraft for Nattia.

IC:
Upon arrival, the duo were expecting a Nattian detail, but instead, Faust had appeared in full uniform, guiding them to their armored car as the convoy headed for the capital on an unexpected diplomatic visit with the male rep being a rather calm, dull man who had deep hazel eyes and black hair with light skin, almost seemingly caucasian, unlike the female who was built like a brick house, her tired blue eyes and chocolate skin matched her professionally cut hair, combed back into a straight mane while she hid her hands under white gloves, much like her male counterpart. Both wore black suits, but only one had a badge of crossed swords, the other had a badge of a pickaxe and a sign crossed together. MoD (Ministry of Defense) and MoTI (Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure) respectively.

Otsopaa, Nattia

Seeing her commands followed— despite the agitation that it provoked, Vuorela and her team had had time to caught their breath and draft up plans review the various proposals and plans that had flooded the Ministry of Public Works. First Vuorela issued to the Provisional Council her stamp of approval of the Krowian business proposals:

-Evans Steel Works proposed a $7.1 Billion construction of three facilities in Hevos, Rynkar, and Alajari with rail access to all three locations and port access to two locations.

-Kings Royal Holding proposed a $3.6 Billion construction within both of Liquor and Chocolate facilities in the capitol, Salosaari, Alajari, and Otsopaa.

-Oil sector proposed a $35 Billion construction proposal of a 50-tank oil and energy reservoir complex for gasoline and oil domestic needs with an one-time contribution to fill each 10 of the 50 tanks.

Next Vuorela granted approval of the use of Gonswanza’s supplementing modular nuclear plants, while issuing a plan for a large scale nuclear power plant in Luopa with the goal of creating a facility with the capacity to power not only the entirety of the island of Nattia, but could also produce an energy surplus. This was all as well to be set up on a standardized electrical grid that would be connected to Naveatto.

Not stopping there, Vuorela revealed her plan for the Transnattian Railway, though directed for a grand central station to be constructed not in Harjukuapunki, but instead in Otsopaa:

And thus, the issue of transport begins... As the rep from MoTI stepped in, to offer a superior solution that favored Gonswanzan and Pilzn rail, only because it would be cheaper, easier to maintain, more reliable and more cost-effective than the fantastical idea of a bullet train racing around an island less than 10,000 km long. Not only that, but certain routes (like the west line) were far, far too short to make any form of high-speed rail practical, much less sustainable even if it were electric. Finally, with the current infrastructure, it would be a severe undertaking to even attempt to implement high-speed transport given a lack of infrastructure in place to even support rail period.

But for now, the idea was to instead use the A-410 Toby as a model train for short "hops" along newly constructed lines before more proper civilian engines could be used, independent of the grid. However, contracts were being nailed down for Janpian trains that could help turn things around, given independence from outside power.

While talks are ongoing, the MoD representative offers Gonswanzan veteran commanders to train troops, arming them with surplus stock of the AR-76, in hopes of winning a bid over other parties, while also aiming to grow connections with Nattia. An offer to join the KTO was also waved, as a voluntary gesture rather than being forced upon them, but it was quickly buried under offers for ELT tanks and J-110 export fighters.
