"Comrades! Twelve hours ago, on the 28th of January, 2024, our esteemed and cherished Comrade Pluribus Von Cluck, General Secretary of the Social Democratic Centrist Party of Iaepatius, has died.
Our dear Comrade General Secretary succumbed to burn wounds that he had accumulated while saving factory workers at the Dastenin Polychemicals Factory No. 2 in Dastet, in northeastern PR Iaepatius.
On Sunday, 28 January 2024, Comrade Pluribus Von Cluck visited the new factory to celebrate its one-year anniversary and speak with the workers to hear their criticisms and take note, as well as give on-the-spot guidance on factory running. Comrade Pluribus, dressed in a simple and muddy workers' uniform, rushed to greet the workers with open arms, who returned his affection! With great regret, we note that, due to inconsistent following of local safety regulations, the factory was not within fire code guidelines; an accidental explosive chemical reaction led to a great fire erupting throughout the building. Investigations are being carried out of factory owners' involvement with the irresponsibility.
As the fire quickly spread throughout the building, many workers became trapped and began to suffer in pain as the flames licked at their heels and the smoke choked them. But in displays of great bravery, stronger workers, such as great Comrades Rañ Ha Yoñ and Ke Wañ Do, and General Secretary Von Cluck remained behind, assisting their beloved Comrades as true servants of the People, sparing no expense to save them. 37-year-old Comrade Dou La Teh, a worker who survived the terrible accident, recalls the General Secretary's selflessness and fearlessness in face of death: "Our Uncle Qañ, our Pluribus did not hesitate even for a moment! Even as the flames whipped at his body, back into the inferno he went to carry more workers to safety." The efforts of all the workers and our General Secretary are reflective of the true Revolutionary spirit and their good example shall be studied and heeded for ages. Such efforts within the Revolutionary gaze led to all 400 employees at the factory surviving.
Despite his wounds, the General Secretary refused private healthcare, instead urging injured workers to luxurious hospital beds to receive the finest treatment available. General Secretary Von Cluck said: "Let the People be the first in line to receive everything, for everything comes from them." Comrade Pluribus also ordered many portions of his yearly salary to be deducted to pay for the treatment and compensation to the victims' families. Never in the history of Earth has there been a People's Leader so devoted and dedicated to placing the well-being of the People above all!
By the benevolence of the Revolution, all 150 injured workers made full recoveries. But, to our great sadness, our dear General Secretary suffered from the most atrocious and agonizing of wounds, wounds that proved fatal. At 7:35 P.M., Núbero Time, our Esteemed and Beloved Comrade General Secretary Pluribus Von Cluck succumbed to his injuries, compounded by his strenuous labor to see to the treatment of the injured and continue serving the nation in governance, and passed away. But even till the end, General Secretary Pluribus was a true Revolutionary who elevated the People to godly respect; his final words were: "Glory to Iaepatius! Long live the People!" In accordance with his final will, all of his belongings were sold to finance the creation of new social programs for the People's happiness and carefree lifestyle.
Upon hearing news of the General Secretary's death, spontaneous throngs of People erupted into the streets with great sadness and tearful mourning. All Iaepatusian people united in their despair to churn out a strong sense of resolve no matter their background. 79-year-old Comrade Huk Šin Arik said: "He was our Comrade, General Secretary Von Cluck. I miss his warm presence. But, I shall not falter; I will use this sadness to strengthen my steely Revolutionary conviction!" 16-year-old Comrade Yañ Dey Leya cried: "Come back, Comrade General Secretary! Please don't leave us!" By unanimous vote of the National People's Assembly, all flags shall be lowered at half-mast for the rest of the week and an official week of mourning is declared.
Currently, in accordance with the Constitution of the SDCP, the First Secretary shall temporarily assume the position of General Secretary until a proper election can be held. Comrade Nam Gel Dak will temporarily hold the position. He said, speaking on the death of the General Secretary: "Through the power of Revolutionary spirit we will turn ice-cold sadness into fiery revival!"
Despite his untimely passing, let us not fear for a moment, Comrades! Our dear Comrade General Secretary will be with us forever! Let us turn our grieving into renewed strength to carry on the Revolution!"
