Quick little OOC note: This summit is intended to be a response to the rising Throngist ideology throughout the isles, and a direct response to the Saela Summit in Lesva.
Rhumba Tuurn Ropine greeted the room full of delegates with a smile and a wave. Despite her very progressive foreign policy, she herself wasn't used to working with a group of representatives like this, as she usually left that task to members of her administration. However, she felt as if a more unified message against Throngism could help Remodio, and the Isles as a whole. "Welcome, representatives of the Western Isles, to the Ioodiisitie Anti-Authoritarian Summit. I hope you've had time to explore our beautiful city, but now it's time for diplomatic business. As you know, recent events in the past year have threatened the security of our nations. The emergence of the Gael Federation, the attempted assassination of Pagala Ira, the influence of Throngism abroad... these are issues that threaten democracy. Blatant disregard for freedom and democracy cannot and will not stand. But we can't fight it individually - we must take a unified stand to push back on Throngism internationally and, in some cases, within our own borders. Lives are at stake. Future generations are at stake. The stability of The Western Isles is at stake. As such, I have proposed the following agreement among the nations in attendance.
First, all members must agree to denounce Throngism abroad and within their own borders. It is a corrupting ideology, it is fascism in sheep's clothing. If we do not all agree on this, then it will continue to spread like a plague.
Second, all members must agree to recognize the current Lesvan government as illegitimate. Taica Berislavić is a power-hungry dictator, and is only there because Pava Sari seized power from the citizens of Lesva. Their dream of a united Gael Federation will end in blood.
Finally, all members must agree to deepen diplomatic economic ties with one another in the name of democratic progress. By agreeing to sign these accords, we believe this requirement is meant, but we would urge members to go beyond that.
When writing the provisions of this agreement, we, the Remodin government, purposely kept the requirements vague. We must remain flexible. and we recognize that it is not always true that 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend.' That is to say that, perhaps not all the nations in this summit want deeper ties with one another. But, alas, if we are to take a stance against authoritarianism, we must work together. Thus, I urge you all to sign the Ioodiisitie Accords. Thank you, representatives, I open the floor to discussion." She sat back down, waiting for debate.
