Republic of Triton

Triton, similar to the Lunar Republic, was one of the few independent moons, on its own it was nothing more than a small icy moon orbiting around the grand Blue giant that was Neptune. But contrary to belief Triton was one of the most important positions in the outer Sol System, being a great point of departure for ships around Neptune and the other gas giants, Triton served as both a massive landing pad into the Kuiper Belt and Pluto, it also served as the location of numerous Helium-3 Mines, which helped powered the fusion reactors that gave the gas giants Electricity. Triton, therefore, served as a important target for the Plutonians. The Plutonian Capital Fleet (Made up of over 40 Warships), had been near The Neptunian Republic when pluto declared Independence, originally it had been sent to patrol the Inner Kuiper Belt near Uranus, it was now being retreated back to Pluto as the Federation needed it since it was the main part of their navy. However, a quick pit stop was too be made.

Magadall, Eastern Tritonian Territory

The Sun Rose over the horizon of Triton, the blue ball of Neptune close to the East expecting to eclipse Sol in a few days. Sol barely illuminated the ground, from here Sol looked like one of the hundreds of other stars in the sky, only it was the biggest and the brightest, nonetheless Tritons surface was covered with artificial lights from Mining Colonies and Giant Landing Cities. Magadall rose over the desolate white and grey ice plains of Eastern Triton, which was a rather desolated area, Magadall was surrounded by numerous smaller Helium-3 Mines. While the small city of only 10,000 inhabitants wasn’t that impressive, it would serve as the gateway onto Triton.

Among the silence of the dark Morning, the Plutonian Fleet sprang into action, they emerged over the top of a mountain in the south, heading quickly towards the vast icy plains, with Magadall in the center. Defense systems quickly sprung into action, the cities shields quickly rose online protecting the city and its inhabitants, inside people ran for designated shelters built incase the shields fail, the entire city had a large dome over it, one stray shot and the entire population would be sucked into space, therefore as many citizens needed to be put in airtight bunkers as possible. Outside, Fighters poured out of docks around the city, flying head on against the Plutonian Capital Fleet, while it held impressive numbers of warships and weaponry, the capital fleet lacked one major advantage, a strong number of fighters, this information would be used to the full advantage of the Triton Fighters. They quickly flew close to the hulls of the ships, preventing the canons from firing on them, due to the fact they weren’t allowed to turn backwards towards the ship. This allowed for the Fighters to stay close to the ship and out of reach, the main areas they targeted where the Canons and Engines.

Across the fleet the weaponry of there warships exploded as they couldn’t do anything to prevent it, the Plutonians we’re expecting this though, and only anticipated they would soon strike the trap. Indeed they did. A large portion of the Triton Fighters began moving towards a Large ship in the back of the fleet, they begin doing the routine as they fired along the ships canons, until suddenly the entire ship exploded, it rocketed the battlefield for a second as the brightness cleared. It had been a decoy ship rigged with explosives and highly-explosive fuel, meant to take out much of the Triton Fighters, and there plan had succeeded with about 3-4 fighters left, the remaining fighters forced to surrender as the Plutonian Fighters now outnumbered them.

The Fleet began moving towards the city again the city again, unleashing there full arsenal. Against the city, the shields were quickly deteriorated, and soon a large Neutron missile launched at the dome, causing the destruction of the city as a massive fire burned out of the dome, as the fleet begin moving away from Triton the corpses of Magadall Citizens shot past them, launched out into space by the explosion, nonetheless they continued moving.

The room was flooded with debate about the attack against Triton, the man again screamed “Order!”, but no silence came, only angrier replies.

“Pluto has committed a atrocity with this act! A warcrime!”
“We cant let them launch more attacks like these!”
“Pluto needs to be stopped!”
“The Jovian Republic demands full Military action against Pluto!”

“ORDER!” The man screamed, even louder then the chatter of the room, everyone slowly silenced. “I agree with you, Pluto can not be allowed to get away with the attack on Triton that took place earlier today, therefore we ask a simple question, who here supports full military action immediate against Pluto? Everyone who agrees say Aye.”

“Aye”, filled the room as representatives from all republics for once agreed on something.

“And anyone for Nay?”

Silence filled the room, no one was stupid enough to defend a obvious warcrime, Pluto needed to be stopped. “In that case, the Commonwealth will pass Order 782, Urgent Military Action against Pluto.”

All the other Republics have no reason to revolt, and at the time simply don’t want to. Also, we do allow Dissent, it is a right of all republics to be allowed independence whenever they want, though they must sign new treaties and all that stuff, the Commonwealth isnt really a nation per say, but a very close knit UN-Type authority pretty much making sure all the planets work together and dont murder each other. The reason there is a Pluto War is because they havent signed the proper legal documentation and they launched raid against Commonwealth Cargo ships after they declared independence.

The Almighty Station picks up the aftermath:

The Almighty Long Range Galactic Signal Station was a proud accomplishment of the Lumerians. The station was as large as a space city, and while space cities and stations have become common in the Federation, the thing that put it apart from the rest was the main reason it was built. The station was built with the largest Radio Transmitter in the entire Federation, few coming close to its size and power. While the station was huge, it only had space for 30k residents, being the crew and their families, plus the necessary requirements like shops and transportation. The docks of the station were also fairly large, able to accommodate a battlecruiser and the rest of a fleet. The station was owned by the Lumerians and under the direct administration of Sol Kesh. However the Federation also used the Radio Transmitter, to communicate with Galactic nations light-years away in a matter of seconds.

The Lumerians picked up the signal of the Plutonian fleet on Triton, seeing their radio transmissions bunched up on the icy moon. And while at first it was unclear what was happening in the Sol system, it became evident to the crew of the station what had happened after the battle. The aftermath was found out and quickly sent to the high command of the station, before being sent to the Capitol and getting a reaction from the President and his Ministers.

The meeting:

"This has to be incorrect, no way would the Plutonians just go and shoot at a outpost."

"It was a mining outpost, helping the commonwealth with resources."

"But still! It had civilians, they just attacked them"

"Silence!" The Speaker of the House exclaimed. The voices of the meeting room fell down as they looked at the speaker, sitting on his white chair with the emblem of the Grand Republic behind him. "May the President speak" said the speaker as all eyes turned on the leader.

"While the event is tragic, we must continue our support for Pluton."

"But they attacked a civilian target! Thats against the Peace and War Concordant!"

"Civilians perish in war, its just fate. War is not some simple thing, people die!"

The room broke into a massive argument again, Ministers arguing with each other as to who is right and whether they should continue their support for the Plutonians. The Speaker of the House tried his best to quiet down the angry officials, but failed. Until the President stood up and commanded for the Ministers full attention, with a sudden peace the Ministers sat down, maybe only for a brief moment.

"Civilians die in war, we have to remember that. Plutonians may have done this on purpose, or on accident, but bickering is not going to bring back the dead. Lumeria and its people support Pluton and Charon, they were once like us. I hereby propose a solution, we hide the aftermath of the battle. The Federation cannot know of the attack, if they do, the Capitol will have the inner system mobilise their men, and we will face consequences.

But this solution is only temporary, the Federation will find out, its just a matter of time. we have to send support as soon as possible before the Federation stop us, resend our message to them using the Almighty Station and hopefully Pluton responds back. Who agrees?"

The Ministers slowly began raising their hands, some kept them down, having their opinion of Pluto shifted. However most of the room had their hands up, around 70% of the Ministers. The President smiled as the Speaker of the House counted the votes and wrote down the results.3

Moments after the ending of the meeting:

A message back was sent to the top officials and crew of the Station, they were ordered to continue scanning the Sol system, but cover-up the battle and what they found. Federation members onboard the station were not informed of what happened and no information was given about the Lumerian message to Pluto.

The station under the orders of the President resent the message, the same message they had recently sent to the FPC leader and officials to try to get a response of a alliance between the two states. Only time is going to tell what will happen....

Fleet of Magnificent Justice, Kuiper Belt

The Ominous Respite and the Fervent Prosecutor broke formation from the Fleet of Magnificent Justice in the Kuiper Belt and made their way towards the Meteor Belt deeper into the Sol System. The commanding officers of these two cruisers were confident but proceeded with the utmost caution on this mission that Commodore Shajar had ordered them to embark upon. Sensors were scanning through the asteroids and meteors until they finally found a cargo ship, the Zaur of New Master, coming back from a trade visit. While the Ominous Respite took position behind a large asteroid so it could hardly be detected, the Fervent Prosecutor went ahead to intercept the Zaur and unleash its plasma-based weaponry upon it. By primarily targeting the cargo ship's engines and navigational systems, it would be unable to flee. After the attack, the Fervent Prosecutor, in clear view of the crew of the Zaur, sped away and left the area- disappearing on sensors too. Thankful that they were given mercy, they probably better should send out a distress signal to their fellow New Masterian military ships before the damage they suffered from the attack would deteriorate further and destroyed them. Unbeknownst to them, they were being used as bait...

OOC: New Master, if you find this godmodding because I've gone ahead and disabled your cargo ship, then do tell me in private TG if you feel that way and I could void this. I just thought this would be a fun setup for a battle encounter.

4 Victory 1-class Star Destroyers, 6 Imperial II-class Star Destroyers and 1 Executor-class Super Star Destroyer exit hyperspace 2 AU from Pluto. A message was sent out to all sides that the Galactic Empire is neutral in this conflict but warns that any attack on Imperial ships will be considered an act of war.

Recovery efforts had already began in Magadall, but there wasn’t much that could be saved, only a few hundred survivors remained, the ones who had been lucky enough to have gotten into Air-Tight bunkers before the city dome exploded. A Clean-Up effort was made, thousands of frozen corpses and debris scattered the surrounding landscapes, along with the burnt out remains of fallen warships, meanwhile the Outposts surrounding the city were closing down, many of the mines had collapsed and buried miners during the battle. At the current estimate it Government would take a few years to recover the entire area, the few survivors of the battle were sent to Mirinus, the Tritonian Capital.

Propaganda spread of the might of Pluto and Charon, a possible plan to mine all of Charon to build a massive navy also broke out into the public, which would of course enrage Charon citizens. The Commonwealth would quickly send military and economic aid to the protestors to try and overthrow the government.

The Disassembly had watched with intrigued interest as the situation escalated, the ship had transferred the rescued personnel to internment facilities through portals with its frame. And then there had been the incident at Triton.

The incident had tarnished the reputation of the Plutonian movement more than expected, and more than that, no denunciation had come for this atrocity.

And then there was the New Plutonian State.

This was a move that made not only the Disassembly, but its superiors, far off, quite discontented. Not only because it had demonstrated some significant ill intent, but also because it meant that they would not be likely to achieve their initial intentions.

We are the Grand Republic of Lumeria, a member of the Federation of Independent Galactic States. We contact you in hopes of helping your state and people, we see that you are facing a challenge and wish to support your independence. We were once a part of another nation, being only used for its resources. The Lumerians proudly support your goal and wish to help any way we can, whether it be economic aid, humanitarian, or direct military action.

Terra, while the homeworld of humanity, can not enslave all of us forever, we must break from the chains of Tyranny to secure a Future for Pluto and its People. If/When we successfully get our independence, we predict a Grand Revolution across the Sol System to secure democracy and justice to all Stellar Bodies, from the tiniest asteroids to the largest gas giants. It was time.

The time for the invasion of Pluto, until now the Commonwealth had been disregarding Pluto as a minuscule threat, but after the events on Charon and Triton. The issue was to be faced, head on. A large Fleet, totaling about 60 warships, orbited around Neptune. While the Commonwealth had wished for a bigger invasion force, Plutos far away location restricted the amount of ships that could be prepared on a short notice. The Fleet suddenly warped towards Pluto, in almost a second they had arrived in orbit above the Hellas Plateau, the Fleet had been prepared with Double Loaded Warp Units, while most ships could only warp one large distance before it needed to recharge for another warp, these ones had been double loaded so should a ship find itself in extreme danger it could easily have a chance to escape.

The Fleet would activate a cloaking device that would hide them from site, but no all the way from Radar, this was intentional, now they would just wait for the Plutonians to eventually walk into their trap…
