The Spacer War of Independence [IC]

Postby Quasi-Stellar Star Civilizations » Fri May 05, 2023 6:02 am

For almost a millennium, space cities have been constructed across the Coalition. These space cities have been built in one of three forms: Cylinder, Ring, or Station.

Cylinders are, obviously, cylinders that spin to simulate gravity.
Rings are basically vertical slices of a cylinder that also spins to simulate gravity. These are the largest of the three.
Stations have several rings connected via spokes to a central, weightless spoke. These are the smallest.

Throughout the Coalition's history, these cities have been aligned to the planet they are nearest to, thereby extending that planet's reach. In total, the population of the cities nears a billion.
However, in recent years, the spacers have clamored for more rights in the Coalition and, with some radicals, independence.

One spacer, Boris Trell, has led the Spacer Independance Movement (SIM) for years. However, a radical rival based on Ring Nine has recently assassinated Trell, rising to dominance in the SIM. The rival, Radt Cretz, has recently been weaponizing Ring Nine and affiliated cities, preparing for war.

Despite multiple attempts to peacefully resolve the situation, SIM has continued to militarize. However, with the majority of the QSN out in the galaxy, and the meager forces of the QSDF unable to handle a situation of this size, the Council has called for help in resolving the conflict.

A squad of Arembolen ships, including the soon to be infamous HMS Tartarus, arrive at a small outpost planet in some random planet towards the edge of the galaxy and/or the edge of the Quasi civilization.

The fleet, lead by brigade commander Captain Donald Flag (Capt. Don for short), in command on the Tartarus, sends several of the smaller Monitor and Zeppelin-class ships to set up a perimeter. A few of the larger Cyclops and Drakon ships are sent to enforce these lines, as well as sending more Carriers and Command ships at points in the system.

The remaining 30 ships, excluding the Tartarus, and two Olympian-Class ships meant not to land, head into the planets atmosphere to make contact with the soldiers on the planet. Capt. Don heads down within a Monitor ship.

A standard detachment of 52 ships arrives at a QSSC solar system with a station that is currently in a revolt. The ships encircle the station, but they keep their weapons stowed and broadcast the following message, with no visuals, "Please stand down so that a diplomatic end to this can be discussed. We can help you gain the rights of full QSSC Citizens, but we will not be merciful if you decide to attack us others."
It plays on a loop for 3 hours, on all the radio signals they can. Meanwhile, the ships try and organize defensibly, becausw the station's weapons(I assume?) could probably damage or destroy a ship.

The insurgents do not respond, and instead prepare their weapons to fire on the blockade.

In Ring Nine, the information is immediately received by Radt Cretz. He looks through the cameras of Cylinder Forty at the Yokron blockade.

He tells his troops there, "Wait a moment. A diversion is in store. We need to gauge their abilities before attacking."

Then, a small civilian ship enters the space around Cylinder Forty and fires at the Yokron ship while barreling toward the Cylinder.

The fire from the tiny ship has seemingly no effect against the SRNERP (Self-replicating nano efficiency ridged plating) armor on the ships. In an instant, however, 3 T38Es fly out of the bay of an Interstellar class ship and begin laying down fire on the enemy transport. One sustains light damage, but it peals away long enough for its SRNERP(It's weaker because of how small the craft is though) armor to stitch itself back together then goes back in to continue fighting. The ships are wary now, with their guns fully deployed and T38Es ready to launch, but they don't bother with more firepower use against the small civi ship because it might result in less output against the main enemies during the battle.

In addition to this, it clearly won't be an easy fight, so a few ships have their service roster cleared so that they can be called in to fight the insurgents if things get desperate.

Somewhere within the QSSC, the Fleet of Righteous Peace arrived at a friendly star port, not one of the cities, of course. Their arrival was very gradually, however, starting with the twelve frigates, then the six cruisers, and then the carrier itself over the course of a couple weeks. To the civilians and workers aboard the star port, it appeared to be an occasional visit by the Kraicians, or perhaps a small stopover according to some. But to the QSSC and Kraician government officials, the actual reason was clear.

On the other side of the station, an unextraordinary ship was departing from its dock, specifically a Kraician cargo ship. It's kilometer long length was large, but hardly anybody paid attention to it, not when they only saw cargo containers and heavy equipment operators going about their business hours and days ago. What nobody knows, however, not even the QSSC government itself, was that it was a Lashkhi Class Intelligence Collection Ship. It had all the features of typical Kraician ship designs: bulbous, streamlined, and lengthwise.

At the bridge, deep within the center of the ship, Captain Zurab Heydari overlooked his officers and personnel from his command cubicle. From his position, he had the entrances within his sideward peripherals, with the multiple screens displayed at the very front of the bridge. The entire bridge itself resembled a pre-FTL mission control center; everyone had their own cubicles, and were constantly exchanging information, either verbally or silently via the ship's onboard cable intranet.

"Course finalized and inputted." His navigational officer on the bottom left communicated in his headset. "We are ready for departure."

"Take her away, Mikheil." Zurab replied calmly, watching as the intelligence ship zipped into warp speed moments later. "Mariami, how's our new analyst going?"

"Besides a few rounds of root memorization, he's doing just fine."

"This is not linguistics, Mariami. The kid needs to know the difference between computation and translation, we're not looking so much for culture as we are trying to crack encryptions. Thankfully, we're going to be taking this slow and easy, so I'm sure he will do fine as you implied."

"I'll keep you posted, Captain."

Don enters the outpost, while the structure drops.

After organizing his army, Sizzle ordered the Space Couriers and Scout Spacecrafts to stay in New Master for support if needed and then, located the QSSC universe wormhole and passed through it and so, sent a message via radar of his spaceship, Lamentor.
Greetings, I am General Sizzle, commander of the New Masterian forces and to any QSSC officer or commander there, please contact with us and show us the Spacer cities for us to attack and also meet with alies. Awaiting answer.

The Ferrum Expedition Fleet jumped into a random QSSC system after performing a semi-blind jump from Olympia. The fleet of 10 Gimili Class Carriers, 40 Durin Class Battleships, and 120 Balin Class Destroyers entered formation to prepare for possible combat. The Ferrum admiral sent a message to the local QSSC government office.
This is Fleet Admiral Thorin of the Ferrum Navy. We are here to provide assistance. It will take awhile for our jump drives to recharge but as soon as they are ready just tell us where we are needed.

Seeing that the SrOS made an action without needing an permission of the QSSC, Sizzle ordered that the Transformer Guzzle and 60 Space Shockabots to attack an cyclinder station and they came by 30 Pods where they jumped out and started shooting and exploding the station without mercy. Guzzle was really efficient because his tank alternate mode is deadly and its cannon plasma shots are like shotguns and the Losbots perfurant rifles are also really efficient at perfurating armors.

OPERATION DAWHO

Seeing that the occupation of the Cylinder “Uzz” was successful, Sizzle made contact with the SCSSB(Space Couriers and Scout Spacecafts Batallion) to come to the universe that Lamentor was and so, Chief-Officer Rodney took his Space Voyager(basically the commander class spaceship of the SCSSB) alongside Skullcruncher, Tap-Out, Loafer and Scrapper, they guided the 1,000 Scout Spacecrafts and 600 Space Couriers through the same wormhole Sizzle passed through and then, Rodney connected his Space Voyager to the Lamentor and he entered the Lamentor.

“Hello Captain Sizzle, what’s the orders?”said Rodney while crossing his arms. “Simple Rodney, there’s many so-called space cities that you already know because I told you why to stay in New Master, Guzzle and some of the Space Shockabots occupied an Cylinder station and I got an idea. Tell your soldiers to patrol space cities, making sieges y’know? Also don’t attack those cities, just when threatened, performing those sieges will help our allies to attack those cities as the Spacers will be busy at looking at y’all.” Rodney found that strategy actually good. “Sounds good. I will stay in my Space Voyager to also contact with the Space Couriers and Scout Spacecrafts.”

After that, Rodney shared images of what space cities look like and then, every Spacr Courier and Scout Spacecraft splitted into groups of 4 or 6 to patrol the space cities except the Cylinder “Uzz”.

The arrival of the Kraician cargo ship did not go unnoticed by the respective ring city a couple days later.

"Kraician cargo ship, Levant'uri, we are reading you on approach course. Please transmit your ID code." The space traffic control center greeted them.

"Copy that." Captain Heydari replied warmly. "Transmitting now: 11A2B1B2B3."

"Codes received, standby for verification."

For a moment, there was a tense but understandable silence. The captain was relaxed, most of his sailors quiet and on edge to the impending reply from the QSSC station's response. The few that were completely unconcerned were the analysts and technicians, who were all too busy monitoring communications, not only between their ship and traffic control, but aboard the station elsewhere at once.

"Levant'uri, you are cleared to proceed on heading for Dock 07. Welcome to Helios. We will see you in the next 50 minutes."

"Thank you, sir." Heydari nodded; however, the moment he terminated transmissions, he reverted to the ship's onboard intranet, where he safely spoke to the analysts. "Zherkezhi, Mariam, what do we have so far?"

"Not much. However, Zherkezhi had noticed something for sure. Go ahead, Zhen."

"Diakh, major. So, we both found very normal communication between traffic control and other ships. Nothing unusual with trade and commerce, including clearances from tour ships."

"Tourism?" Heydari asked rather slowly.

"Diakh. But, I am bothered by what I DON'T find however. Other than occasional exchanges with patrol boats, military activity is very minimal. No corvettes, no frigates, not even fighters or drones."

"Quite strange, indeed. Helios is a research and educational center, according to the briefing."

"Of course. I might not be an admiral or governor, but I seen our own institutes retaining higher security than this."

"That's for major research and development centers, kid. You must be thinking about places like Novaia Borealisi, ara?"

"Uh, yes, sir. Still, I don't like it."

"You're not going to like a lot of things for sure. That's why we need you. Keep digging, you're off to a good start."

"Yes, captain."

"And Mariam?" Heydari called to the instructing officer. "Keep an eye and ear upon Helios, the planet itself. If there are any exchanges between the station and planetside, we must know about as soon as possible."

"Already on it, sir."

"Thank you." The captain nodded, leaving himself and silence so he could eye the live screens and the other workstations.

Dropships are being prepared for the eventual deployment of standard infantry.

The nearest QSDF garrison commander responds, "We are grateful for your assistance. Currently, there are eighteen rebellious Spacer cities in this system which... equates to all of them in the system. We have a blockade around three of them."

New Master wrote:After organizing his army, Sizzle ordered the Space Couriers and Scout Spacecrafts to stay in New Master for support if needed and then, located the QSSC universe wormhole and passed through it and so, sent a message via radar of his spaceship, Lamentor.
Greetings, I am General Sizzle, commander of the New Masterian forces, and to any QSSC officer or commander there, please contact with us and show us the Spacer cities for us to attack and also meet with alies. Awaiting answer.

The regional office of the Council replies, "Your message is received, General Sizzle. The biggest concern right now is the cities in the Home Systems, where Radt Cretz is located. If you could report to Destrune for a meeting, we would be grateful."

THe insurgents do not respond. Instead, they power up the external defense guns and begin firing on the SRoM boarding party.

The Cylinder Forty insurgents also begin firing the external defense guns at the Yokron blockade and the incoming ships. However, they are soon dismantled due to the nanites.

The central power core, an Atomizer, begins to grow unstable, releasing copious amounts of energy in preparation for the big boom...

Meanwhile, in Ring Nine, Radt Cretz looks out at the QSDF blockade outside. He glances at a screen, chuckles, and begins sending a transmission to the blockade.

"My friends, you will soon see that the war will not be easily won."

With the transmission was a nano-virus, infecting the systems within the Provenance-DF's and the other ships in the blockade. The AIs in the blockade are soon corrupted, turning off the life support systems and killing all aboard the ships.

When the carnage was over, he orders crews to begin docking the blockade ships to Ring Nine for a Jump to a nearby system. Ring Nine was special in this way that it was a fully functioning starship in its own right.

One of the bridge officers walks up to the commander who is surveying the battle, "Sir, the nanites are reporting an energy surge. Its similar to that of an atomizer."
"Fuck!" He replied worriedly, "They must be trying to use it as a suicide attack. Pull out, but set the nanites to continue their rampage. We won't lose too many"

The ships then quickly whip around and enter the stream, leaving Cylinder 40 behind. The T38Es in the area also enter the stream, just long enough until they will receie that announcement that the enemy structure has been destroyed

As Don lands, he sends a communication up to the Tartarus, telling the commanders in place of him to drop the structure of a settlement, through the use of a Carbo-Glass polymer.

Don enters the outpost, while the structure drops.

The Carbo-Glass structure starts building out, under the advanced AI, and soon a small dome-town is constructed, and Don heads farther in, intending to meet with the senior officers, and make contact outside this backwater system.

The small outpost would seem deserted aside from the AI.

A bot detaches from its port and makes its way to Don.

"You are Aremboleen? We have no need for you here. Try up there." The bot points upward where a faint dot moves across the sky.
