Karl von Larenz, finally many miles away from conflict has finally replaced and upgraded the tires, allowing him to drive even further from the Exarkyonian pursuing force.

(OOC: There is no pursuing force. When you decided to drive away the riders decided to return to camp and call it a day. Operations are now being focused elsewhere.)

A tank, a supply truck (which contains some MPATS, MPADS, and explosives of various kinds), eight riders, twenty unmounted infantryman, and thirty logistics personnel begin setting up an outpost in the vicinity of Tuangthong's location.

Thuanthong takes cover and peers through the sights of the carbine to scout the Exarkyon outpost, which was in the process of being set up. "One against a small army, do I even stand a chance?" he asked himself. Logistics personnel and some of the soldiers were busy with constructing the outpost, while others were standing guard or just loitering around. Among his most peculiar observations were a tank and a supply truck with a cargo unbeknownst to him at the moment. He reasoned that since they are mostly preoccupied with setting up the outpost, now is a chance to come closer to gather more intel- and perhaps even strike them should he find that to be within the realm of possibility.

As Thuanthong covertly approaches the area, he makes sure to leave his motorbike in a hidden but nearby place- making a swift escape should he be caught possible. He tries to lure one of the isolated logistics personnel (perhaps taking a break from all that heavy work) by making some noise, so he could move in to capture and interrogate the guy for further intel on what they are doing here.

OOC: Concerning the whole truck question: Alrighty then, fine with me too then.

Also, does the outpost have buildings already, like a lookout tower or an office? And are the tanks already manned with a crew and the riders on their motorbikes? Does the supply truck also have mines or anything like that?

A logistics workers looks up at the noise and shines produces a flashlight. A soldier calls, asking if there was anything. The logistics worker says no and decides to move on without investigating, putting the flashlight away. He did not see Thuanthong.

Seeing that the logistics worker is moving on, Thuanthong crouches up behind him before lunging to grab the man with the intent to pull the worker towards his place of cover he was in when he tried to lure him. He would cover the worker's mouth with one hand- to prevent him from screaming to alert the others- and with his other hand he'd hold the daab single-edge sword against the worker's throat.

OOC: I'm realising Thuanthong is going down a Metal Gear Solid path now lol.

Now as night has fallen, Karl von Larenz has taken the time to modify his gun into a day-night weapon, a force to be reckoned with, a suppressed, Hk416 with a Trijicon IR scope. He quietly slips out into the night unnoticed, a hunter on the prowl. His prey are unsuspetcing competitors.

[Quasi-Stellar Star Civilizations]

The lava has sufficiently cooled, forming a smooth surface 5 feet from the top of the walls of the maze. As such, a new obstacle is in order.

The High Gamemaster's face appeared once again over the arena: "Tis' been a minute since the last obstacle, so I believe it is time to spice things up."

All people in the Pit hear loud clanking noises coming from the edge of the arena. Looking toward the edges, they would see the stands growing more distant as the Pit expanded to 10 miles in diameter. There are two reasons for this:

1. More and more people have crammed into the stands, causing an overcrowding problem. Also, people have complained about the tickets being sold out.

2. With the entrance of an actual nation and its military, room in the arena has become a problem.

At that moment, the walls sunk below the volcanic surface, leaving a smooth plain. Then, holes formed within the volcanic plain and formed a cave system.

OOC: Theoretically we could have the border expand and more and more capturable objectives, each one giving a varying number of points which can also be used towards progress towards victory, as points can be used to acquire a plethora of bonuses, such as orbital strikes, artillery strikes, etc. it would more to fight for, and spice the overall game up.

Thuanthong pulls the logistics worker closer towards him, and holds his daab single-edge sword against his throat. "Scream or resist, and I'll make you feel a kind of pain you've never experienced before." The frightened Exarkyamed nods frantically, and appears to be more than ready to comply.

"Now tell me the following: how many of you are in this outpost, who and where is your commanding officer, is there anyone guarding him, and what is stored in the supply truck. Answer quickly." Hopefully, the outpost commander is busy and alone in his command(?) tent, so Thuanthong could pay the man a surprise visit.

Karl von Larenz is scanning the horizon with his thermals when he spots a few riders two to three miles off, he unslings his HK416 and puts it back in the second floor rack, and unhooks his AWP Dragon Lore from the rack. he then takes the gauss coil module and sheathes it over the barrel, it clicks on as he adjusts the pneumatic lock. Today was a new day.

"There's.. uh... about fifty or sixty of us."
"Main unit commander's back at the main camp; you're out of luck if you want to get him. The camp's being immediately managed by a few guys."
"Supply truck's got toys for the riders. I haven't seen the inside but it's no secret what them riders carry around: explosives of many kinds, plus some anti-tank stuff. Oh, and food and rations. There's less interesting stuff in there and it's all in crates. Plus it's guarded. You aren't going to get any of that. Braver men than I are there."

"Well, considering you're taking awhile to answer. I guess I'll tell a bit about myself then." Thuanthong said as he grew bored, while the hyperventilating logistics worker was trying to calm down so he could confirm or deny the existence of a PA system at the camp. "I was born in 2139, on New Krung Thep in a village far far outside the colony's capital city Buriyong. It was a quiet, peaceful childhood you know? My father had me sign up for martial arts classes when I was six, and that's how I got into Muay Thai. But as I grew older into my teenage years, I began forming some kind of homesickness. I wanted to go to Earth, and visit my ancestral homelands: prathet Thai.

I began participating in competitions and I was a favourite of the audience, growing a pretty big following for a farm boy born in a stable. I won the planetary championship and my name got more popular throughout AISEAN. Soon, my wish was granted and I got to fight for the championships in Thailand! In that moment when I set foot on actual Thai soil, I felt truly at home.

Some years later, and then I heard of this multiversal competition. I'm not necessarily here for the prize money, when I win, I'll send most of that back to my family on New Krung Thep. What I am here for, is the title... What is a more glorious achievement for a warrior that makes my ancestors proud than the title 'Master of the Multiverse'?"

OOC: this is just a bit filler until Exarkyon returns, a way for me to develop Thuanthong's character and a kind of bump lol. You don't have to consider that this has actually happened.

As he says this, an infantryman walks close to the hiding spot. Fortunately, he does not see Thuanthong or the logistics worker.

"Khàawp khun, a quick death then." With that, he slit the throat of the logistics worker- the dying man desperately gasping for air before letting out his last breath. Thuanthong was going to hide the body, but stopped once he heard and sensed the presence of an infantryman coming closer...

As he says this, an infantryman walks close to the hiding spot. Fortunately, he does not see Thuanthong or the logistics worker.

Thuanthong takes his sword, aims it at the infantryman's chest, and hurls it at him with great force. Hopefully, the blade should lodge into the centre, and pierce him straight through the heart. As the blade traveled towards its target, he then also lunges towards the soldier, with the intent of performing a te chiang kick to the face (just to be sure if he's not incapacitated already).

The infantryman drops... with a stifled scream. Stifled though it was, it was enough to get two of his friends to come over with their rifles up. They do not yet see Thuanthong.

"Oh great..." Thuanthong had to kill the two of them now, lest they approach to investigate and find the two bodies of their comrades. He couldn't use his carbine because the shots would alert the rest of the outpost, and he couldn't let the guards fire their weapons or call for backup; everything had to be done stealthily.

He took his sword out of the man's chest, and threw a rock to his right. This should distract the Exarkyamed soldiers for a few seconds and compel them to investigate the noise emanating from there instead, so Thuanthong could sneak up to them, and would take out the one in the rear by muffling his mouth, stabbing him in the kidney, before plunging it into his throat. The front soldier, hearing some commotion behind him, would turn around and- if his attacker could get it right- feel a tingling sensation in his right wrist. Trying to pull the trigger would not not work, as his hand fell off before Thuanthong would reach for the throat so the soldier could only gurgle on his blood instead of shouting for help.

If all went right, it would finally allow him to infiltrate the camp without alerting the still living staff for the first several minutes, until they get suspicious about the fact that four of their friends are seemingly missing. If not, he'd get the hell out of there.

“Truly one hell of a spectacle” remarked Karl von Larenz, watching the event unfold from about a mile away, he detached the Gauss coil from his AWP and screws on a suppressor, and takes aim. “Let’s cause some chaos.” he remarks before squeezing the trigger and watching the subsonic incendiary tracer streak towards a fuel drum, the drum explodes.

[The Merry-Men]

Meanwhile, on an opposite side of the map, an ominous choir of singing voices would call out from the heavens, sounding more beautiful than any that had followed before, followed by a loud burp as a woman in a three-piece suit, white gloves, a bowler falls from the sky in a beam of light with a choir singing in the background.

As she falls a couple centimetres from the portal to the ground, a choir sings out the Latin line, "
Ecce mulier quae supra omnem redemptionem est.", which translates into English as "Behold the woman beyond all redemption".

It then ends with "Vale mulier quae supra omnem redemptionem est", which means "Farewell, woman beyond all redemption." Mary simply disregards this strange and theatrical introduction as she dusts off her jacket, looking around as she seemed both excited and confused. She distinctly did remember entering an interversal competition where various leaders would be able to participate in a tournament. Most of them were singular combatants save for the Exarkyon army, but she was confident thanks to her experience with irregular warfare and terrorism, she had a decent chance... but only if her Merrymen were by her side, which would leave her open to all sorts of opportunities to be assassinated.

As she heard several gunshots and the explosion of a drum in the distance, she would at first be startled... before a wicked grin would come upon her face once more, since that meant to her that the fun was going to begin.

Though the dark alleyways and shadows, she would begin to move and try and keep herself incognito, until she would meet up with her henchmen. She would be defenseless against larger armies without them, but they would be defenseless without her command and leadership in her eyes.


Meanwhile, on the opposite side of the arena, around 131 men and women wearing purple pinstripe suits, white gloves, theatrical comedy masks and a variety of hats, headgear and footwear would pour from a giant portal, tumbling their way out as they yelled among each other, before getting up and looking to where they are while picking up their weapons. A bunch of PRIM8s with collared chimpanzees would even emerge, followed by what appeared to be an old 1990s Toyota Hilux with a Browning M2 machine gun and armour plating on the sides.

"Ohh... Ooooh, bloody 'ell, that was a trip and a half. I have the most sudden feeling that I left my stove on, however..." One Merryman who wore a beret and was carrying a meat cleaver uttered, before getting a slap to the back of the head by another.

"Alright, alright, Mr. Forgetful. You can go home and turn it off when we're either all dead or won this bally thing. Now... we need to set off to find our boss. She said she'd be tagging along with us all the way, and you know she never breaks a promise when it comes to us. Besides, even if we don't find her, we can maraud all we want around here! So much opportunity, friends!" Another man who wore a top hat called out after slapping ten other Merryman speeching as he climbed an armoured Toyota.

"Now... we ready to go for a nice night out?" He said, the crowd loudly cheering and praising for him as he then got down, walking through the distance and sneaking into alleys and shadows of the walls and cities themselves to keep incognito as they went to look for their beloved leader, while a dozen merely armed with melee weapons, one man dual wielding Glock 18 pistols and a PRIM-8 unit with a chimpanzee would go their own path towards the camp, where they had heard fun little explosions as they were too high to care or follow orders from some crumpet who wasn't even their Boss. But it wouldn't be too long, if things didn't go wrong, before Mary was reunited with her hoodlums...

[Socalist Republic Of Mercenaries]

"Uh oh, that's not very... Good." muttered Karl von Larenz, peering off into the distance with his day-night binos, which were picking up a heat signature of about over 131 human-sized beings a few miles off. "Well looks like my position is very well compromised now! Time to book it!" he remarks as he runs down the stairs, into the driving compartment of his semi-truck.

[Exarkyon]

Due to the drum explosion, the outpost is now on high alert. Prepare for imminent reinforcements. Infantrymen secure the perimeter, taking cover behind any obstacles, and the riders mount up and get ready for combat, also riding behind any protection available. A roll call alerts the outpost to the missing infantryman and logistics worker.
