The German Fleet, close to Wedellia, was heavily mobilized and armed, ready to attack Wedellia at the least sign of warning, the Carriers loaded with Eurofighter Typhoons, Eurocopter Tigers and H-27s, were in formation with other warships prepared to Attack, the German Army was ready to invade, all Amphibious Assault ships were loaded with soldiers and tanks, ready to attack.

The attack.

Here at The National Defense Council of The United Socialist States Of The Vooperian Union we have begun placing our troops along high-priority targets, with 250 tanks, and 2,500 infantry at the capital.

I am sending the rest of our army to the “United Front”, or the front lines.

Well, we too make landfall as allies of the Kaiserin and begin to construct rudimentary infrastructures in areas further from the frontlines, such as communications bases (literally big green circus tents equipped with radars and other comms equippment) and also permanant troop residencies in the form of quonset huts.

The Saterun troops had arrived in Weddelia. They instantly secured the three islands, with help from the garrison already there. Saterun did not want to fight anyone, but these islands were under its protection. Saterun had a duty.

It was a quiet night, the ships waiting in the harbor. General Hamit did not know what would follow, but the past few days had been relatively peaceful. But Saterun was ready.

After a long day of waiting, we finally made it to Wedellia. “What to do now?” I said to the commander. Ivan responded “What now? Well, now we wait. We are on a defensive front after all. MEN, BEGIN THE ENTRENCHMENT PROCESS!”

The Weddelian Army, Airforce, and Navy have begun a rapid mobilization across the country to prepare for the German troops, meanwhile 30.000 troops head off to the frontlines.

As the Wedellians and their allies scramble to set up an effective defense, the entire 452nd STRATOS Fallschirmjäger Division has launched Operation Takedown, a masive 10,000 man assault deep behind Wedellian lines. As a state of total war has been delcared, confiscating grain from Wedellian farmers, as total war has been declared, and all things within the Wedellian border are now classified as millitary assets.

The Saterun Imperial Defense Ministry, wishing no combat, extends an offer to both sides. Saterun will let the war play out however it will on the rest of the country, as long as the three northern cove islands are not touched. Saterun awaits the responses.

Exercise Gothic Spear
The Great Hungarian Plain

As part of Relikan international efforts in supporting their neighbours, the Relikan Ground Forces has established countless partnerships with countries around the globe. Be it South Africa, Argentina, Armenia or even China, overseas commitments has always been a high priority in the diplomatic budget to support strong international ties. Part of this was strengthening the allies' militaries, allowing them to stamp their own sovereignty and independence on the global stage.

Thus the United Federation and the nations of Hungary, Austria, and Turkey will come together for a military exercise, on the combined ability to defend and react against the aggression of a larger neighbour. Codenamed Exercise Gothic Spear, the Relikan Army of Swabia will take the lead, playing both BLUFOR and OPFOR in this month-long training exercise where top generals would gather and plan a combined defensive strategy.

[A deafening roar cuts Anatoli's remark about 75mm shells off as the turret of an LT-2A (A light tank armed with a 128mm howitzer, with armor a 75mm can very easily penetrate) can be seen soaring through the sky.]

[The LT-2As begin to hightail it back to base, but at least seven of the twenty had been destroyed.]

Little did the soldiers on both sides know, the first major conflict in Wedellia had just began...

Chernov shouts “MEN, OUR ENTRENCHMENT IS WORKING, BUT WE NEED TO TO PROTECT OUR TANKS! PUT SOME SANDBAGS AROUND THEM OR SOMETHING!”

"Keep up the pressure boys!" shouted Anatoli through the radio, "We need to regroup with the paratroops behind their lines, if they retreat, we can regroup and push em back a half mile or so, anyways give them a clear line of escape, it doesn't matter if they get away or not, it's still a strategic victory on us!"
[a APHEAT round slams into the glacis plate, causing the tank to shudder, luckily a non-penetration hit, the FT-23M a "smoke grenade" (brown silica dust in a tin can roughly 100mm in diameter) at the AT position, while maneuvering to get behind a protruding rock.]
"Aha!" shouts Jack, the tank's driver .
"what is it?" asks Anatoli.
"We could call in artillery, after all we do have artillery, no?" remarked Jack, who then pulled the tank into full reverse so that their gunner Sergei could take a potshot at a T72 down the field.
"We don't need an autoloader, we have Otto right here!" remarked Sergei slapping Otto on the shoulder, the whole crew chortled.
"Yeah, but we should still call in artillery right though." sighed Anatoli.

"MEN, GET READY! THE REINFORCEMENTS ARE HERE!" Shouted Ivanovitch.

[15 V-14 ground assault aircraft can be seen in the distance, while a 100mm shot spalled into the front of the tank, taking out the engine and injuring the repairman.]

"Yes! Fuck yeeah!" remarked Otto, whose celebration was cut short by the snare-drum-esque sound of 30mm shells ricocheting off the turret glacis.
[a split second later a tandem charge warhead smashes into the rock their tank was taking cover behind]
"SHIT WE GOTTA BOOK IT" shouted Jack, who turned the engine into full gear, as the FT-23M raced off for cover, otherwise known as half of a bunker
[More bombs and missiles fall out of the sky as the scene turns into some shit remeniscent of that one meme of that one dude in a baby costume running through a detonating minefield]
[The 50 FT-23s fire back angrily at the AT positions, as it's more air-defense-oriented, infantry carrying counterpart, the FT-23D fires at the V-14s in the sky circling like vultures above]

Our losses:
297 Infantry.
62 T-77B3-75V2-80 tanks.
3 V-14s.

In the end, we lost more tanks, and they lost more infantry.

the fight has wound down to small sporadic skirmishes as the RSRM gains half a kilometer, as planned.

I stared at my papers, I felt the tension in the air, what I was about to say was not an easy thing to say, “gentlemen, we are at war. Following the German invasion into Wedellia”. I paused then continued. Troops are being deployed along the Benelux”. I stared at my phone, “sorry I have to deliver to parliament” I said. We will need to continue this later today.

12:13 pm

I stared around the terraced room before continuing. “We shall only have lost when the last particles of dust have been obliterated”… “no more no less”. “And even better, the populace agrees”. On last line I thought. “We shall neversurrender!” The house went wild calling my name. Tousaint! Tousaint! I walked out of the room, confident that my job had been done.
