The Great state of Joseon wrote:Due to the massive bombing of the Novayan Navy and Air Force, Certamen's ability to conduct war has fallen to the ground. Power outages continued in major cities, and communication between military units was not smooth, confusing the command system. Paralyzed supply capacity has already sentenced the armoured units of Certamen to death, which have been severely damaged.

With the TV broadcasts cut off, the people of Certamen now distrust the government. The people now believe that President Snow will lose the war, as messages from the resistance have been broadcast nationwide twice before due to network hacking.

Of course, privileged senior military commanders and officials did their best to stifle public discontent. Security forces patrolled the city center day and night, and "people with suspicious behavior" were captured.

Meanwhile, Novayan's special forces will soon discover that President Snow is not at the presidential palace. Inside the presidential palace, there were only false bodyguards, and there was no sign of President Snow.

Around the same time, information from Relikans arrived at Joseon's intelligence agency. Joseon shared information that he believed was important with the Allies, including Novayan. Some of the information delivered included the fact that President Snow was hiding in a three-story building near the presidential palace.

Upon receiving information about the unlisted landing ship brigade brigades from Novayan, the 5th U.S. Fleet and India's fleet began to move west of Sumatra Island, Indonesia, for patrol.

Now with the information at hand, the Novayan Federal Intelligence Service and Joint Special Operations Command relayed the information received from Joseon to the special forces teams present. However, it is unknown which three-story building near the presidential palace President Snow hides at, therefore the decision came to airdrop seven platoons of airborne troops and five additional special forces teams near Port Alejandro. It may take several hours, but once they arrive outside Port Alejandro, these assault teams would make their way and quietly engage any security forces they encounter in order to rendezvous with the Novayan special forces teams and prepare for a raid against any of the three-story buildings that were near the presidential palace. They would do this under the cover of darkness.

Novayan ground and airborne forces would arrive at allied beachheads and controlled airports from which they would begin converging on Port Alejandro. In addition, Novayan marines and naval detachments were among the ground and airborne forces. The ground and airborne forces would have helicopters, armored transport vehicles, tanks and self-propelled artillery, with mobile infantry aboard said armored combat transports. Of course, some of the mobile infantry included leg infantry, who are skilled in the rugged terrain that so dominates Certamen itself. In fact, Novayan ground troops were actually skilled in the rugged - both mountainous and tropical jungle - terrain that was also present in Novaya; and the leg infantry would serve as the hunters, recon troops and search teams who would engage any Certamen soldiers who might be in the jungle ahead. Unlike Certamen soldiers, Novayan troops wore combat camouflages, which allows them to blend in with the environment as well as make it harder for their foes to fight; Certamen troops, on the other hand, had literally pure white armor and outfits that makes them stand out, making them sitting ducks for the Novayan soldiers. A few UAV drones were also used to search for any Certamen troops hiding in the jungle.

Battle of Port Alejandro

Postby The Great state of Joseon » Sun Mar 26, 2023 7:11 am

The resistance is now gathering forces to prepare for the final showdown. 30,000 troops, 40 VT-3 tanks, 30 MH-52 Self Propelled Howitzers, and 60 MRAPs. These forces were most of the forces the resistance had.

The Resistance advanced, using Self Propelled Howitzers, firing to the remaining barracks of Certamen's army and temporary defense facilities. They slowly started their advance from the outskirts of the city in preparation for Urban Warfare.

Certamen's army is 50,000 troops, but there are only 10 tanks and no air force. This is because the last several battles have exhausted the tank inventory held by Certamen's forces and wiped out the air force.

Certamen's forces are now resisting the city's structures and buildings as shields. They're trying to turn the battle into bloody Urban warfare.

Meanwhile, Novaya's special forces will find that there are only two three-story buildings near Snow's office. One was on the street across from the Oval Office, and the other was near an artificial forest connected to the Presidential office. Wherever it is, it is assumed that President Snow is hiding in either place.

At the same time, Certamen's forces, which are engaged with Novayan forces, are suffering increasing casualties. About 20,000 troops from Certamen are fighting the Novayan army, but they are specialized in policing on the mainland. Because elite combat-specific units were consumed on the Indonesian and Australian fronts, Certamen had no choice but to send non-elite units into combat, and they did not even receive proper air support or armoured support.

The weapons held by Certamen's army against Novayan helicopters, fighters, and tanks are, at best, just infantry firearms like rifles. Certamen's forces are resisting hard, but the inferiority of firepower is evident.

Over the past few days, ASEAN's fleet has hunted and searched for remaining submarines in the navy of Certamen. As a result, 10 more submarines of Certamen were sunk, and now Certamen is unable to prevent further Allied landings.

Lancastershire's fleet will be able to land in Jayapuya City without any resistance. There were no Certamen ships and aircraft that appeared while five F-420 fighters of the Resistance escorted the fleet of Lancastershire.

With Certamen being completely paralyzed at this point from the Allied Forces many in Parliament and the ACP are considering annexing all of Certamen outright and having them be a autonomous state or free associated state. Regardless later in the day the newspaper of the ACP, Neo-Eisimeileachd published the official statement from ACP saying how they're now committed to the Allied cause and will assist in crushing Certamen resistance and rebuilding the country. With this change in allegiances the once unlisted landing ship brigade was now revealed to be the 41st Guards Landing Ship Brigade escorted by the Ceannard-class destroyer Knoydart. With their arrival in the Indian Ocean and making way for Certamen the ACP implores the Allies to work alongside the people's sailors and greet them with open arms.
Along with this call of friendship the ACP has invited the mainstream and smaller socialist and communist parties in the countries of Joseon, The United Kingdom of South Africa, and the Novayan Commonwealth to the annual Congress of the Ayshirean Communist Party.
With this increase in Ayshire's global presence many in the ACP expecting Ayshire's presence to increase throughout the world even more.

The weapons held by Certamen's army against Novayan helicopters, fighters, and tanks are, at best, just infantry firearms like rifles. Certamen's forces are resisting hard, but the inferiority of firepower is evident.

Realizing this, the Novayan special forces teams and airborne infantry platoons, grouped into commando teams, splits up to take the two three-story buildings. Fortunately, the assault teams were prepared for anything that might occur - even if it means sending several fireteams into the sewers to help prevent any more escapes.

Even more fortunately, the Novayan government saw it fit to paradrop troops right into Landing Zone Peril, located next to the presidential palace the assault teams initially thought President Snow was at. High-altitude paradrops would likely see ten more platoons being paradropped to help reinforce the assault teams; these reinforcements were equipped with light and heavy weapons that would allow them to take on enemy forces present. However, the assault teams still had one goal: the capture of President Snow, and whatever cronies he may have left.

Because the Certamen troops who were fighting the Novayan army were only specialized in policing on the mainland and not having proper air support or even armored support, Novayan forces took only few casualties. The fact Certamen's army only had infantry firearms to fight against the more mobile and more lethal Novayan forces demonstrate this massive inferiority, while the elite combat-oriented forces were in Australia and Indonesia. And since Certamen's facing the full wrath of the whole world meant it is now alone, that means Certamen's fate is sealed. At the same time, Novayan combat troops began ordering the Certamen soldiers tasked with policing on the mainland to surrender or be crushed.

Elements of the Novayan Navy and Air Force were then redirected back to Certamen.

The Novayan government sent a message to the government of Ayshire, thanking them for switching sides; the Novayan government would notify the American government to change focus on Certamen. The Novayan government had also sent Ayshire a list of things Novaya requested the latter to follow.

Official Communique of Novaya to Ayshire

The government of the Novayan Commonwealth would like to request the government of Ayshire to follow the things below:
I. Novaya wished to have its neutrality respected post-war - Even though the Novayan government had involved itself in the war, all we did was organize deterrence and patrol missions in Novayan airspace and waters. However, the arrival of two of Certamen's submarines had complicated the situation, which resulted in Novaya declaring war on Certamen. Once the war (and reconstruction efforts) is done, Novaya will return to being the neutral player, the third-way party every nation can interact with as long as its neutrality was respected.
II. Novaya wished for Ayshire to not cause trouble - Novaya had a lot of things already on its plate: maintaining and fostering cooperation and peace in the Middle East, performing humanitarian and development operations in Africa, focusing more on the domestic renewable energy sources and space efforts, et cetera. Novaya doesn't want to waste its energy on things that would bring trouble but also waste manpower, resources and funds.
III. No foreign involvement in Kivotos - Straddling halfway between Novaya and Japan is an island named Kivotos (or New Kivotos), which is home to the nation of Kivotos that did not participate in the Certamen War. New Kivotos also happens to be a protectorate as well as (paradoxically speaking) a protected state, due to the fact it is seemingly peaceful; it is also infamous for the fact people - especially students at and above age 15-16 - carry guns as they do cellphones. Contrary to popular beliefs, Novaya had NOTHING to do with forcing the people of New Kivotos to own guns; gun ownership is the result of the Cold War, which would've developed into World War III. Novaya had already a lot of things on its plate, and being the babysitter of New Kivotos is one of them. Ironically, New Kivotos had a surprisingly zero percent death by gun violence rate that even Novaya can't explain how or why; again, Novaya was only babysitting New Kivotos since the 1950s.
IV. No foreign involvement in Novaya - Again, Novaya had a lot of things on its plate. The Novayan government doesn't like its trust being taken for granted.
V. No trouble during reconstruction efforts in Certamen - Novaya wants to rebuild Certamen in a way that would allow it to function in the light of the global community. Policies that would benefit the people should be proposed, as long as no trouble is being brewed in Certamen by foreign powers. After this, Novaya will simply fuck off to do what it does best: babysitting New Kivotos, fostering and maintaining peace and cooperation in the Middle East, and focusing on the Commonwealth's own domestic front. In addition, Novaya would also focus on the humanitarian and reconstruction efforts throughout Southeast Asia, so long as every player agree to let Novaya fuck off into neutrality once more after that.

The same list was distributed to all anti-Certamen nations involved in the war. It seems that Novaya really, really wanted to get out of the war and get to work on humanitarian and reconstruction stuffs just so it could fuck off being neutral and very diplomatic and influential.

The United Federation of Relikai, with their work done in the SouthEast Asian and Australian theaters, now prepare to pull out of the region with their remaining forces, and formalize a transfer of prisoners over to the Australian Defence Forces. Relikan Fallschirmjagers and a security battalion will remain to facilitate the welfare of the prisoners, but the three Panzergrenadier divisions will return to their Southeast Asian bases for a rotation back home. There their combat experience would be valuable lessons to the other unblooded battalions, with observers already preparing lesson plans to integrate into the next curriculums in the Officer School.

The Relikans will donate the Fallschirmjagers' Hueys to the Australian Defence Force after the war is over, but the paratroopers will remain and continue to act as a quick-reaction force with the helicopters until the conflict is over.

The Communist Party of Joseon responded to the invitation of the Ayshirean Communist Party and sent three party executives, including the party leader. The Joseon government did not stop them. The Communist Party of Joseon was a minority party that did not even have seats in the local parliament, let alone in the National Assembly, so even if they attended the Congress of the Ayshirean Communist Party, it would have very little impact on domestic politics.

The Joseon government sent a telegram to Ayshire.

We expect Ayshire to help rebuild the post-war situation. Before that, we request the following from Ayshire.

  • The act of attacking the Resistance is considered an attack on the Allies.
    - The Resistance is made up of citizens against the repressive dictatorship of the Republic of Certamen, and they are ultimately members of the Allies. We expect Ayshire to be a mature enough country not to attack citizens who resisted dictatorship.
  • The sovereignty of the Republic of Certamen must be respected.
    - The Republic of Certamen is a war criminal state that invaded other countries, but it is also an independent sovereign state. We believe that it is desirable for the Republic of Certamen to remain sovereign after the war.
  • Please cooperate with the quarantine procedures of the Joseon’s fleet.
    - Ayshire was once on the side of the Republic of Certamen, we need to stop Ayshire from launching an attack on the Allies. If you don't want Ayshire to antagonize the Allies, don't refuse to let our fleet surveillance on your fleet. A squadron of fighter jets will take off from our aircraft carrier to monitor your fleet periodically. We won't launch a preemptive attack on Ayshire, and I hope Ayshire doesn't attack fighter squadrons either. Otherwise, we have no choice but to pull the trigger.
  • Do not attempt to help the illegal regime in the Republic of Certamen.
    - They are war criminals and dictatorships that oppressed the people. As the goal of this campaign is to oust them, We hope that Ayshire is wise enough not to engage in hostilities against the Allies.

If Ayshire accepts the above, we will not prevent Ayshire from attending post-war talks and gaining a say.

At the same time, fighter jets took off from the carriers of Joseon's 7th and 5th Fleet. 4 F/A-18E fighters turned on their transponders and began approaching the 41st Guards Landing Ship Brigade in Ayshire, announcing their presence.

Fighters sent communications to the fleet.

"We're Royal Joseon Navy fighters. We will escort your fleet on the premise that your fleet will not act hostile to us and will not help the Republic of Certamen. We hope you will cooperate.“

SIC:

At 10 km behind the 4 F/A-18 fighters, 48 F-35C fighter jets turn off their transponders and fly with two NSM anti-ship missiles per fighter, keeping an eye on the 41st Guards Landing Ship Brigade.

Novaya’s Comando teams, who raided a roadside building across from the Presidential office, searched the building but realized there were only office supplies and a few people who appeared as civilians. There were no guards. This is not where President Snow is hiding.

Meanwhile, commando teams, who raided a building near an artificial forest, encountered several guards. The guards were a minority, but they began to resist strongly with automatic weapons. A heavy machine gun is installed in the hallway inside the building, and the rest of the guards are armed with assault rifles.

But their forces are only one platoon. That's a very small force compared to the Novayan special forces.

"Mr. President, the enemy has raided Safehouse. The sewers were also occupied by the enemy," the secretary reported to President Snow in a desperate voice.

"Resistance approached the city center. Our troops are being pushed out, and our enemies are advancing with tanks and artillery," one general reported in a stiff tone. Despite the loss, his tone remained steady.

President Snow closed his eyes for a moment and was lost in thought.

It was the end of his decades-long reign.

"How many guards are left now?"

"There are 30 people left. One platoon of troops. Enemies now have at least 10 platoons." reported the general in a slightly trembling voice at the words of President Snow.

President Snow raised one hand. "Tell them to stop. Stop the battle."

"But Mr. President..."

"It's over now. We should know how to give up. Tell all the guards to lay down their weapons and surrender."

After a while, shots stopped on the guards' side and a soldier shouted in English.

"We'll surrender! Don't shoot!"

Certamen now has only 5,000 surviving troops. Since the chief commander was killed in action, Certamen's officer, who took up temporary command, ordered the surviving troops to retreat. But there is no place for them to retreat. Port Alejandro is on the verge of being taken, and the remaining small towns in the provinces are also in danger.

The Great state of Joseon wrote:Novaya’s Comando teams, who raided a roadside building across the Oval Office, searched the building but realized there were only office supplies and a few people who appeared as civilians.

The Novayan commandos assaulting President Snow's safehouse would notice the guards are announcing their surrender. Seeing this, the troops proceeded to arrest the guards, while three squads went to arrest President Snow and his cronies. "President Snow, you and your cronies will be under arrest until a possible trial will be scheduled for. Do not even think of resisting us," one of the Novayan commandos said to President Snow and his cronies. Another commando reported to the Novayan high command of the capture of President Snow and his cronies.

Attention, everyone.

Our commando teams had launched an infiltration assault into Port Alejandro from the sea and then from the air. They managed to find President Snow and his cronies, and those Certamen leaders are under arrest. I have already given the commando teams their order: to bring President Snow and his cronies to his presidential palace and broadcast an end of the war.

The Novayan commando teams escorted President Snow and his cronies to the presidential palace which is being fortified by the other commando teams; several more troops, this time from the Novayan Air Force Security Forces, were airdropped to help reinforce the ground teams fortifying the palace. Once there, they went to the room where President Snow would broadcast his speeches. There, they prepped chairs for Snow and his cronies to sit on while three commando teams went to visit the nearest news broadcast center and either convince the people to broadcast President Snow or, if there's no people, take some equipment to broadcast.

Regardless, once the three commando teams have returned with what they hand and begin broadcast President Snow's speech for all to hear; several commandos guard the room within and without. The troops made sure to scour the entire palace for anything that might be dangerous; bombs would also be defused beforehand to avoid any sorts of detonations. They also made sure to arrest the people acting as false bodyguards and whatnot in the presidential palace to make sure no one would do anything funny. Meanwhile, the arrested guards were placed in a room next to the exit, being watched over by several commandos.

Also, the Novayan commandos didn't need to put President Snow under pressure nor duress. Rather, they simply told him to announce the end of the war.

End of the War

Postby The Great state of Joseon » Tue Mar 28, 2023 9:13 pm

President Snow looked directly at the soldiers of the Novayan commando in front of him. Now they didn't harm President Snow. Because they didn't have to be. Everyone here knew it was all over now.

President Snow closed his eyes for a moment. It was the moment when his decades-long rule ended. Now he couldn't even guarantee what was going to happen.

President Snow stood in front of the camera calmly.

"My fellow citizens. I declare officially that the war in the Republic of Certamen is over as of today. I officially declare surrender to the Allies. As of this time, I order all remaining military personnel of the Republic of Certamen to cease fighting and surrender. In addition, as of today, I will step down from the presidency."

After a brief remark, Mr. Snow escaped the camera's gaze. His remarks were short, but they were the most important remarks in the entire war.

The war is over.

The remaining soldiers of Certamen surrendered to Allied forces everywhere. There were 80,000 troops left, but the entire force was scattered all over the place, so they were difficult to pose a big threat to the Allies.

President Alma Lowell was watching Snow's national broadcast in real-time from an underground bunker in New Hamilton City.

"Mrs. President, have you seen the broadcast?......You are already watching it." Her secretary rushed into the room. His forehead was covered with sweat.

"Yeah. I'm watching the broadcast. The war is over. It's our victory." Alma Lowell smiled. "Order all Resistance troops to advance to Port Alejandro, disarm the remaining enemy soldiers, and take control of the city. And order them to join the Allied forces in the city."

With these demands being considered the Ayshirean Foreign Ministry sent a message to both the Novayan Commonwealth and the Kingdom of Joseon deciding that'd be easier to address both nations at the same time.

Official Communique to the Novayan and Joseon governments

Greetings comrades,
After taking in consideration of your demands the ACP has decided that they shall be followed accordingly.
With the Novayan request to stay out of Kivotos the ACP shall respect it's relationship with Novaya.
As for Novaya's missions in the Middle East and Africa they shall stay clear off but can't promise they won't stop the funding and arming of African communist and socialist parties. With Joseon's request to respect Certamen's sovereignty that shall be followed and will cause no trouble during reconstruction efforts.
The ACP does have one condition they will be following and that is arming and rebuilding the Certamen military.
The commanders of the 41st Landing Ship Brigade and the destroyer Knoydart have been given orders to fully cooperate with the Joseon fighters surveilling them.
We hope that this is satisfactory to your demands and wish you good luck in your future endeavors.

The Great state of Joseon wrote:[DATA OMITTED - REFER TO THE REPORT]

And with that, the broadcast ended.

The first Novayan military unit to enter Port Alejandro was an armored cavalry regiment belonging to the 2nd Armored Division of the Novayan Army sent forward at the orders of Grand Marshal Borealis III to help occupy the city. The men and women of the armored cavalry regiment would commence disarmament of any and all Certamen soldiers. Two more units, the 27th Fusilier Regiment of the 12th Infantry Division and the 2nd Panzer Brigade of the 1st Guards Panzergrenadier Division, soon arrived in to help occupy the capital city and disarm any and all Certamen soldiers.

However, another issue would come to bite the Novayans hard in the rear. Back during the Novayans' bombardment of Certamen, they had targeted government buildings, TV stations, airfields, presidential palaces, military installations, communication lines, supply bases, oil refineries, airports, dockyards and shipyards, electric powerplants and factories as part of Operation Sunrise Storm. However, with the destruction of most TV stations, airports, communication lines, oil refineries, dockyards and shipyards, electric powerplants and factories came the potential danger of putting the people of Port Alejandro into harsh poverty, one the Novayans wouldn't want to happen. And yes, it did bit them in the rear harshly when the Novayans saw the writings on the wall.

To prevent this danger from actually happening, the Novayan government ordered the commandos to make another broadcast, this time telling the people of Port Alejandro that humanitarian aid will be coming to them in a few days, and that reconstruction efforts would begin in a few weeks. True to their word, the Novayan military would commence distribution of newly-arrived humanitarian aid in a few days and reconstruction efforts in a few weeks later.

To whom this may concern,

We thank you for following our requests. We apologize for the F-words, it was only to emphasize the fact Novaya wants nothing to do with any events that would put a devastating strain on resources, manpower and time; we simply want to make sure that Novaya is able to function internationally without having to face problems. Novaya is not the global policeman like the USA, but rather the global mediator, peacemaker and peacekeeper.

Regardless, we would welcome your troops in Certamen to help rebuild the war-torn nation.

From: Government of the Novayan Commonwealth
To: All parties involved

Attention, everyone!

I would like to let everyone know that while the international military tribunal in Yanosama would begin in a few or several months, I would also like for all of you to know that the death penalty will not be used even as a sentence. We are already past the times of capital punishments, nor would we go about covering war crimes and classifying incriminating evidence like what happened in the International Military Tribunal for the Far East.

Rather, this international military tribunal - the International Military Tribunal for Southeast Asia - will be strictly overseen by personnel from the Novayan Ministry of Justice. We will not allow anyone to do ANYTHING that would make the IMTSEA a great repeat of the IMTFE, and we will be the ones to establish the guidelines on the proper procedures, policies and rules on the conduct of all parties' representatives and whatnot involved. Those found bribing, threatening or coercing tribunal officers will be kicked out or replaced by those at the request of the Novayan observers, and the death penalty sentence will not be used as we are already way past the times of barbarism so we are not going back to such dark times.

The tribunal will be prepared in the following months, so that we can put to trial those involved in the war. Again, the death penalty will not be imposed.

Sincerely,
Grand Marshal Borealis III

The Joseon military has begun relief work for the northern part of Certamen. Food and medical supplies were distributed to the citizens of Certamen, and the U.S. military also began relief efforts in the areas they occupied.

Numerous food and medical supplies were distributed to citizens, and Certamen is returning to peace.

Resistance leader Alma Lowell delivered a public address on TV.

People, today is a happy day for our country to be freed from a brutal dictator. President Snow was arrested by Novayan commandos and stepped down from his post. Our proud Resistance soldiers and liberators from all over the world drove out the oppressors and brought sunlight back to Certamen.

I officially declare our victory today. The war is over. And I would like to express my condolences and respect to our comrades who have been sacrificed.

The warring parties, including Joseon, the United States, Indonesia, and Australia, agreed to hold an international military trial in Yanosama. Resistance soldiers, who are now temporarily in charge of security in Certamen, are also waiting for Novaya to take the criminals to Yanosama.

30 important war criminals, including President Leo Snow, and at least thousands of junior war criminals, are in jail waiting to be taken to Yanosama, where the trial will take place.

(The trial process may be controlled by Novayan Commonwealth.)

The Joseon government issued an official statement.

We are seeking stability in Southeast Asia and the Republic of Certamen with the end of the war. To this end, we propose the following.

  • The general and presidential elections of the Republic of Certamen will be held democratically and fairly within 6 months.
  • The Republic of Certamen compensates countries affected by the war, such as Indonesia and Australia, in kind or cash.
  • The Republic of Certamen signs a 30-year nonaggression pact with all warring parties.

With the war in Certamen coming to a close and the ACP eager to establish their presence in the war-torn country the 41st Landing Ship Brigade and the destroyer Knoydart had finally arrived at their destination. The four Ropucha-class LSTs Forres, Huntly, Iverness, and Ellon began making headway for the Certamen coast and in ten minutes make touch with the coast. Within four minutes of landing and lowering the ramps unloading their cargo. Each carried two infantry regiments and one artillery battery of the Ayshirean Marine Infantry. Within minutes of unloading the temporary 12th Composite Marine Brigade begins establishing a beachhead. Alongside them is a Brigade HQ to coordinate all Marine movements and actions. As soon as they've finished setting up in the surrounding area and establishing a base of operations Màidsear Seanalair O'Smith contacts the Allied forces letting them know of their arrival.

Back home the ACP has invited a few of the rebel leaders and the former military officers of the Certamen military. The official reasoning for this is to discuss their views on communism and the possible rearmament of the Certamen military funded and provided by Ayshire. The ACP also publicly announces it's hope for the redevelopment of Certaman and is committed to helping rebuild the war-torn country.

We expect to see an overhaul of the terrible chain of command which answered to politicians and not military commanders, and will be willing to transfer our Fallschirmjagers from Australia to Certamen to act as trainers should this offer be accepted."

If the offer is accepted, a foreign collaboration would be prepared to train 3,000 Certamen soldiers and 600 officers ranging from Sergeants to Majors every year in an extremely tough and comprehensive command course. Included would be deployment to the United Federation for live training in battalion-sized formation maneuvers during Exercise United Front. The expected passing rate is 30%, although every attendee would be awarded levels of merit according to the education received.

The Novayan task force sent to batter Certamen soon begin to spread out to parts of Certamen that had fallen under their control. Because the Novayan Commonwealth proved to be the very element - albeit one that had sought to remain neutral by patrolling its airspace and waters, which caused President Snow to send two of his submarines, and then a number of aircraft sent out - it was able to provide a quick victory. They smashed Certamen's military, industrial and political capabilities, sent assault teams to infiltrate Port Alejandro and capture President Snow and his cronies, and demonstrated its troops' jungle warfare and urban warfare experiences.

Regardless, the Novayans had suffered few or several casualties. Several were wounded, but few died in the tour of duty that was to put an end to Certamen's war. Yet it is to be expected, and the Novayans' own dead were sent back to Novaya to be buried in war cemeteries with full rites and honors. The wounded were sent back to Novaya to recover and either discharge from military service or continue working as military reservists, pending the severity of their wounds.

Currently, Novayan forces were rebuilding areas that fall under their jurisdiction, though Port Alejandro would be shared by all parties. The condition? They have to follow guidelines on what to do and what not to do. Post-war sexual abuse, coercion, torture and extrajudicial killings as well as disgraceful acts and crimes were to be dealt with by more responsible, honest, and transparent authorities. Humanitarian aid supplies would be distributed to the unaffected while the Novayan military established a sort-of civil-military authority to help administer the areas until such a time the provinces, cities, towns and villages would have the means by which its peoples can vote for their new leaders.

It appears that the Novayan military is also experienced in civil-military activities. If many asks why, Novayan soldiers would simply reply, "Because we care for others, even if everyone had the right idea(s) and reason(s) to be angry at us, and even if everyone knew of our militarism we had inherited from the German Empire back in the 1890s. We will not and do not answer to politics, foreign powers, profit-hungry maniacs, et cetera who wish to profit off of other peoples' miseries. We answer to a few things, and a few things only: God and gods, the lives of the people, our nation, and our respect for life. We will do whatever it takes to help rebuild Certamen, even if foreign powers pressured us to give us concessions. And know this: everyone deserves the right to live and exist." Seems to them the Novayans were righteous and moralistic but also compassionate, kind and merciful.

Certamen's interim government has accepted Relikai's offer and decided to involve the officers who will form the new army in the Relikai-led training course. A total of 3,600 former Certamen government soldiers and Resistance soldiers will be dispatched for the first training session.

Meanwhile, Certamen's interim government has created a new army consisting of 20,000 former members of the Certamen government and 20,000 members of the Resistance. The new army will be subject to strict legal control so that it will not be reduced to a dictator's subordinate, and will be led by a democratic government.

The people of Certamen are trying to regain their pre-war lives, and this is acting as hope among people and supporting them.

Over time, the Democratic New Guinea party, led by Resistance leader Alma Lowell, won the first election in Certamen in nearly 60 years, winning a general election with a majority of parliamentary seats. In the presidential election, Alma Lowell was elected president, and soon a new democratic constitution was enacted.

As Certamen quickly stabilized and a new government was elected, multinational forces, including U.S. and Joseon troops, began to withdraw from Certamen.

3 people, including President Leo Snow, were sentenced to life in prison in the war crimes trial. They will be held in a prison somewhere on the island of New Guinea. 30 others were sentenced to 40 years in prison, and other war criminals were each sentenced to prison or fined.

The war is officially over. Now peace has returned to Southeast Asia. It will be peaceful, at least for the time being.

Thank you to everyone interested in and participated in this RP.

RP's progress was slow as I was posting when most people were sleeping, but thank you for your patience and participation.
