Britain was the ruler of Papua New Guinea after the British colonized the entire island in the 19th century. The British tried to make Papua New Guinea a stronghold for entry into the Pacific Ocean, so the British developed Papua New Guinea on a large scale.
But after World War II ended in 1945, the British couldn't afford to control Papua New Guinea. The British independent the entire island, the infrastructure on the island, and the colonists, and Papua New Guinea became independent under the name of the Republic of New Guinea. The British and Natives on the island began to develop the country steadily, and the development process seemed smooth.
The development of the Republic of New Guinea was successful, but in the process, corruption occurred due to the collusion between the regime and businesses, and the regime at that time committed fraudulent elections to protect its position.
Citizens began to protest against rigged elections. Tens of thousands of people flocked to the city center and shouted for the regime's resignation, which the government forcibly suppressed. However, society became unstable day by day and people's dissatisfaction increased.
The military did not miss this opportunity. In 1960, Ronan Snow, the general of Papua New Guinea's army, staged a coup, citing corruption and rigged elections in the regime, and quickly seized power. Now Ronan Snow was not the commander of one unit, but the leader of the whole country.
As soon as Ronan Snow became a leader, he continued to develop large-scale industries at the national level, thereby increasing the nation's wealth and satisfying the public. He also changed the name of the country to the Republic of Certamen.
Over time, however, Ronan Snow became more power-hungry He strengthened his power by secretly eliminating political rivals without stepping down. He also used provocative TV shows and foreign threats to quell public discontent.
The Cold War was a good excuse for him. Ronan Snow, emphasizing the Soviet threat, quelled public discontent and gained support from Western countries. Western countries supported the Republic of Certamen because it was a time when ideological confrontation was important during the Cold War.
In 1990, Ronan Snow retired after handing over power to his son Leo Snow. Leo Snow had more brutal politics than Ronan Snow. He surrounded the city that demonstrated against him with troops and then bombed it. He also publicly executed his opponents, sending a clear message to the people not to oppose him.
Today, the Republic of Certamen is both a world-rich country and one of the great powers. But internal politics is becoming increasingly unstable. Despite Leo Snow's coercive rule, public discontent and signs of a revolution are growing. Some people have fled to forests or somewhere in the middle of the city to act as resistances.
Leo Snow thought that he should no longer use the same method as before to quell public discontent. In the end, he made a major decision.
At 4 a.m., stealth fighters of the Republic of Certamen took off from the airfield and headed for military bases in Indonesia, the Philippines, and Australia. Soon the bombardment began, and in no time the military bases in the border area were incapacitated.
Shortly thereafter, at 6 a.m., the Republic of Certamen's transport ships and transport planes laid down landing and parachute troops on the coast of Australia, Indonesian territory, and the islands of the Philippines.
The war has begun.
But the resistance also started working. Resistance fighters began to launch attacks against military bases in Leo Snow to end the dictator's tyrannical rule and prevent undue aggression.
Other countries have also begun to move to counter the invasion of the Republic of Certamen. Australia, the Philippines, and Indonesia formed a coalition and the United States and India began to move to help them.
major characters
Leo Snow
Leo Snow is the current president of the Republic of Certamen. He is the son of former President Ronan Snow and is known for his harsher rule than ever before.
Having come to power at the end of the Cold War, he took advantage of the chaos that followed the end of the Cold War and the helplessness of the international community during the Rwandan civil war to suppress opposition. A typical example is the siege of New Hamilton, a city that demonstrated against him, and then bombed it.
He is such a harsh ruler, but as the people's dissatisfaction grew, he eventually began to invade foreign countries to distract the people.
Alma Lowell
The city of New Hamilton, which was said to have been wiped out by Leo Snow's army, was not wiped out. The citizens of the city of New Hamilton succeeded in acquiring some of the nuclear weapons that the Republic of Certamen air force had. They used it to blackmail Leo Snow, and they were guaranteed the safety of New Hamilton.
Later, the city of New Hamilton became a stronghold for the resistance, and the city of New Hamilton supported the resistance and pressured the dictatorship of Leo Snow.
The current leader of the city of New Hamilton, Alma Lowell, saw Leo Snow's war of aggression as an opportunity for them to fight back and mobilized the resistance to launch a major counterattack.

Faction
Republic of Certamen
The Republic of Certamen is an economic powerhouse, a military power with 600,000 troops, and a nuclear weapon power. Their leader, Leo Snow, decided to go to war to divert public discontent.
The Republic of Certamen's forces quickly began to seize territory in Australia, Indonesia, and the Philippines early in the war. The army has been skilled with years of experience in suppressing the insurgency and is rapidly expanding its occupation, demonstrating its full potential in this war.
The Allied Forces
Republic of Indonesia
Indonesia, one of the regional powers in Southeast Asia, has a formidable army, but some of its territories have been occupied by the Republic of Certamen attack. They are unable to respond effectively to the enemy because they have concentrated their troops on Jakarta, where the majority of the population is concentrated.
The Indonesian government has allied with Australia and the Philippines to overcome difficulties. But the situation is not good. This is because the Republic of Certamen's forces is occupying the islands one after another, and the military power of Indonesia, Australia, and the Philippines is not enough to stop the enemy.
Commonwealth of Australia
Australia is a country with a fairly strong air force and navy. However, military bases at the border have been destroyed by enemy attacks and there are not enough troops to defend the large territory. The government allied with Indonesia and the Philippines and asked the United States for help, but the enemy's advance was too fast.
The government is considering declaring a mobilization order, but even if it is declared now, it could be too late.
Republic of the Philippines
Before the war, the Philippines was fighting a war against extremist terrorist groups. Because of this, the army was concentrated in the southern part of the country, but the Philippines was unable to stop the Republic of Certamen attack.
The Philippines is trying to call up surviving troops to respond to enemy aggression. But with the Republic of Certamen's stealth fighters taking control of Air Superiority, it remains to be seen whether an effective counterattack can be achieved.
United States of America
The White House was on alert when the news came that the war had begun. It's because not only was the ally Australia attacked, but the Republic of Certamen's army was advancing so fast. The United States urgently decided to send the 7th Fleet and is trying to call in troops from the United States Pacific Command to respond.
Republic of India
When the war began, India decided to enter the war. This is because Leo Snow, the leader of the Republic of Certamen, insisted on advancing beyond Southeast Asia to India in a speech shortly after the start of the war. They didn't think much of it at first, but they began to feel threatened when the Republic of Certamen's forces advanced so quickly.
Association of Southeast Asian Nations(ASEAN)
As the war began, ASEAN began to unite against the threat of the Republic of Certamen. However, the only countries that can mobilize troops are Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Singapore. This is because Myanmar is in a civil war, and Brunei, Cambodia, and Laos have limited troops to mobilize.
However, Myanmar's National Unity Government has decided to stand in solidarity with other Southeast Asian countries and with resistance within the Republic of Certamen.
New Zealand
New Zealand is an advanced country, but it has a weak military power. Because of this, they lost North Island to the Republic of Certamen early in the invasion and had no choice but to make Christchurch the temporary capital.
Now Republic of Certamen's forces is advancing on South Island. And Australia cannot afford to help them. The fate of New Zealand is now like a candle in front of the wind.
Resistance
Resistance, which continues its resistance around the city of New Hamilton, is using government forces and weapons that have taken control of some cities and surrendered. Their leader is Alma Lowell, with an estimated 50,000 troops.
Their purpose is to overthrow the current regime and establish a new democratic government. They argue that the current regime is unjustified because it has been in power through an illegal coup, the regime continues without a legitimate election, and violence against the people continues.
The Resistance, which acquired some of the nuclear weapons owned by the Republic of Certamen Air Force, is using them only as a threat to the government and has promised to return them to the international community after the war.
The Great Kingdom of Joseon
When the U.S. decided to participate in the war, Joseon also began to convene troops. This is because the Southeast Asian region is not only an important trade route for Joseon, but if the Republic of Certamen takes control of entire Southeast Asia, it is tantamount to having Joseon's lifeline in their hands.
Rule
- No godmoding. In particular, I will ban 'teleport' in which troops move in an instant. For Asian countries to move to the battlefield, one post must be assigned to the journey description, and for European, American, or African countries to move to the battlefield, at least two posts must be assigned to the journey description.
- Nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons (WMDs) are not allowed.
- The troop limit is 150,000.
- The limit of writing is at least 100 characters. And describe your behavior in as much detail as possible. For example, when you write posts attacking enemy fleets, you have to describe in detail what kind of ships you use, how many weapons you fire, and how far you attack the enemy.
- This RP is MT. PMTs or FTs such as railguns, satellite lasers, and 6th-generation fighters are not allowed.
- Please be polite to each other. I don't want this thread to turn into a mud-sliding.
Small talk
Yay! I'm back! But consider my old account discarded.
The basic idea of this RP, Such as the idea of the Republic of Certamen, and some of the stories, was inspired by the Hunger Games series.
The Republic of Certamen is a fictional country that is not related to Papua New Guinea except for its geographical location.
