The Strategic Military Organized League (SMOL) is a military alliance that is dedicated to the protection and defense of its member states. The organization was established with the primary goal of ensuring the independence and sovereignty of its member nations, and to this end, it operates on a number of different levels.
One of the key features of SMOL is its commitment to diplomatic cooperation between its member states. This includes regular meetings and consultations, as well as the sharing of information and intelligence to help better anticipate and respond to potential threats.
In addition to diplomatic cooperation, SMOL also places a strong emphasis on military coordination. This includes the sharing of resources and equipment, as well as the development of joint military training and exercises to ensure that the member states' armed forces are well-prepared to operate together in the event of a crisis.
Finally, SMOL is also focused on strategic collaboration. This includes the sharing of best practices and the development of common policies, as well as the establishment of a joint command and control structure to enable the alliance to respond quickly and effectively to any threats.
The Strategic Military Organized League is divided into two distinct chambers. The first and larger chamber is known as the General Council, which serves as the primary decision-making body of the organization. This chamber is comprised of representatives from all member nations, who come together to discuss and vote on important matters related to the alliance. They vote on resolutions, kick out members, and do all the legislative measures within the organization. A simple majority (51%) is required for a General Council resolution to pass. They may also edit the charter, which requires approval from 2/3s of the Security Council as well as a majority.
The second chamber, known as the Security Council, is smaller in size and is made up of some of the most powerful and influential nations within the SMOL. The Security Council is responsible for maintaining the security and stability of the alliance, and has the power to make binding decisions in times of crisis. The Security Council is currently composed of the Aursi, Bakivaland, Galicia-Hungary, the Janpian Union, and the World of Krieg, with more members being elected or appointed on a monthly basis. These nations hold a special status within the SMOL and are considered to be the backbone of the organization.
Charter:
1. Member states must help each other in times of war, as an attack on one member is an attack on every member. It is expected that member states shall respond accordingly.1a. Observers aren't entitled to this war aid, although it is recommended to SMOL's member states that they aid an observer in crisis, but it isn't required.
2. Member states are expected to economically aid other member states in case of economic crisis or recession.
1b. Member states aren't called to arms in the event of a war that is instigated by a member state themselves unless a resolution is passed which details that intervention is required.
3. Trade is encouraged between the alliance.3a. In addition to trade being encouraged, it is assumed that visa-free travel is available between member states.
4. The alliance shall elect temporary Security Council members who shall serve for a week, up to a month. The Security Council candidates shall be drawn from the existing General Council. The term limit is decided by the Permanant Security Council.
5. After departing from the alliance, it is expected that the charter and its requirements are followed for a minimum of 5 months to a maximum of 5 years after the nation's leave.
6. Member states must allocate a minimum of 2% of their GDP to the treasury.
