Eodor, just a quick FYI - your paras ran into some of the best rebel units around, defected Alfordshirian Military and former State Guard fellas with captured and "repossessed" equipment.

Chances are the paras will take quite a beating or get surrounded and destroyed - you fine with that? You'll probably need to beef up the force by adding in a few more EW aircraft and preliminary cruise missile strikes for a greater chance of success - the paras would be caught in not!Hostomel without extensive support. At this point, I don't think a walkover would advance the narrative - it's your call though.

My current situation is that I don't really have enough troops that can be reasonably deployed into am actually interesting battle. Obviously I technically could just teleport all my units 10 or so km from the city but that doesn't exactly make for good RP. Plus I didn't app enough troops for a proper assault on the airport - but given the situation we need an airport to get our troops in.

Either I'll bring in reinforcements - probably by helicopter - and Gostomel Airport 2 Electric Boogaloo can continue a bit more equally matched for some good character moments. Or I'll just edit the post and move to somewhere a bit less well protected.

Why a SOF infiltration instead of a head on attack?

Well, your forces will have to traverse hundreds of miles of desert and forest, deal with constant attacks from mechanized and armoured divisions - along with a competent air-force, which will be jamming your armoured column to hell as they decapitate your command infrastructure and air-defense, opening it up for a conventional offensive.

There's also the fact that you'll have to land somewhere, which means satellites will pick up your movements - allowing a few days of preparation. At this stage, the Alfordshirian Military is still a dangerous force and competent - even with II Corps and a number of divisions defecting to the rebels. You'll have to wait until the Alfordshirian military has been ground down, but you'll still deal with significant resistance - especially near the nuclear fields.

A smaller scale SOF team can slip away and net you recon results. You won't be able to nab the warheads themselves or make too much of a scene, or else a small QRF arrives. Said SOF team can destroy all sorts of communications equipment and sneak away, which would have more of a result than throwing a regiment into a jaws of a shark.

Also, Antarticana, should your ground forces choose to go north to Bosterham about now, there are currently no Meridonian forces on that coastal highway except for a special operations platoon that's mainly just there to watch the road. The airport is closer to the bend in the road and will be where most of my forces are for the moment.

I believe the plane flew over the southern highway but did not enter into the southwestern highway spur. In what section of the Southern highway has Meridon blocked air traffic? (Sorry if I fucked up the rp I can edit it or change it if you need me too).

The students are mostly underground right now, they'll be fleshed out more as time goes on. Underground movement within MILCOM, they'll come to the forefront when that faction splits up.

As for the workers confederation, around Coteshead and that surrounding locale.
