Chances are the paras will take quite a beating or get surrounded and destroyed - you fine with that? You'll probably need to beef up the force by adding in a few more EW aircraft and preliminary cruise missile strikes for a greater chance of success - the paras would be caught in not!Hostomel without extensive support. At this point, I don't think a walkover would advance the narrative - it's your call though.

In some distant alternative universe as the world boiled in nuclear madness, Santoak reactivated the NerV Spaceguard turret. Ever since the M.A.G.E Heritor had corrupted the systems of the Spaceguard network it had been shut down and fell into disrepair in disgrace.
As Nuclear hellfire consumed the world the technicians that had once been ordered to ensure it never worked again desperately worked to bring it back online again. In the fortified Tokyo-2, the city front began to descend into its protective holdings, blast shields raised at strategic networks. The Evangelion Project was ordered to go into deep storage. No matter the devastation Santoak might experience, the Evangelion project had to survive whatever the cost.
They manage to activate the space guard network again as the air force began to falter in the onslaught. All this was thanks to a single crew of ten technicians within the base of Turret-4, at last, locating the final electronic lock to keep the whole thing shut down. They never got to experience the gratitude of a hundred million Santokians. As a result of the reactivation, the massive gears of the cannons crushed those heroes.
But they managed to get it online and instantly it began to fire. With every frantic shot, it struck a missile out of the sky, deflecting it into the sea or detonating it far above the ground. Some got through. Christchurch and the outskirts of Kyoto-Alpha were struck. 890,000 died and almost a million were wounded.
It could have been tens of millions.
So as the world burned, a weapon that had once brought death to Santoak now brought it salvation.

My boys can never catch a break lmao.
My current situation is that I don't really have enough troops that can be reasonably deployed into am actually interesting battle. Obviously I technically could just teleport all my units 10 or so km from the city but that doesn't exactly make for good RP. Plus I didn't app enough troops for a proper assault on the airport - but given the situation we need an airport to get our troops in.
Either I'll bring in reinforcements - probably by helicopter - and Gostomel Airport 2 Electric Boogaloo can continue a bit more equally matched for some good character moments. Or I'll just edit the post and move to somewhere a bit less well protected.
