Timeline of the 2022 Crisis in the Philippine Islands

May 3rd, 2022 - At 2349 PHT, several rockets were launched from Sorsogon in New Luzon into Samar in the New Visayan Islands. The rockets were intercepted by land-based C-RAM off Allen, Samar; New Luzon would claim that the rockets were part of a weapons test gone wrong the following day, after an explanation was demanded at the building where the Treaty of Subic Bay, which ended hostilities between the successor states of the antebellum Philippines in 1988, was signed.
May 4th, 2022 - The New Filipinos explain that what the Visayans claim was a rocket attack was a test gone wrong, stating that His Majesty the King of New Luzon was taking a personal interest in seeing the incident resolved without specifying what the resolution was.
May 5th, 2022 - At 2303 PHT, a rocket artillery barrage launched from Batangas, New Luzon, is almost completely intercepted by Coast Guard C-RAM systems; two rockets that escaped the interception hit a beach resort, killing one and injuring ten.
May 6th, 2022 - President Warren Superales convenes both houses of the Federal Assembly for an emergency session. King Ferdinand II withdraws the New Filipino delegation assigned to the Treaty of Subic Bay Site after advising the Americans, present as the protecting power for all three successor states, that the delegation "was in need of personal consultation."
May 7th, 2022 - Emergency session continues. Governor of Panay contemplates lifting restrictions on sale of firearms.
May 8th, 2022 - Governor of Panay replaces restrictions on possession and sale with a purchasing caveat requiring buyers to attend mandatory training and activates the provincial militia and one of the province's territorial divisions. A TBM is intercepted over Marinduque. King Ferdinand II replaces the First Lord.
May 9th, 2022 - Mobilization orders are issued to reservists working in various companies. Provincial militias are involved in training civilians. King Ferdinand II convenes the Advisory Council.
May 10th, 2022 - King Ferdinand II removes the Foreign Minister; a replacement is to be announced. New Filipino emigres consider signing up in the Mindoro Provincial Guard.
May 11th, 2022 - Kingdom of New Luzon has a replacement Foreign Minister; announcement has yet to be made.
May 12th, 2022 - Name of the new Foreign Minister of New Luzon announced. Visayan Coast Guard intercepts a suspicious boat with a presumed infiltration team.
May 13th, 2022 - Attempt to bomb the Calapan City Hall foiled, with EOD disposing of the IED. Rhetoric calling for the prioritization of what New Filipino irredentists call "the Lost Tagalogs" made public.
May 14th, 2022 - Rumors of a declaration of martial law quashed by members of the Visayan Federal Council.
...
December 8th, 2022 - On the 35th anniversary of Visayan Independence, His Philippine Majesty announces the implementation of OPLAN Yakap.

So, you're stumbled into an episode affecting the canon of the Codex Philippinensis. Interested? This RP is, for all intents and purposes, part of the canon affecting aforementioned 'verse. Participation in this RP is exclusive to the following:
The aim of this RP is to add to the canon of the Codex-verse: as irredentism in the Kingdom rises, and the Confederation prepares for a war of aggression--a war that may spell death to the King* should it fail and he fall under the custody of incensed Visayans--with the Bangsamoro Rojo hoping that those Shameless Capitalists hold the line with the full knowledge that they would be next, things will become particularly interesting.

Ground Rules:
  1. OP's word is law. That OP is a Game Moderator is irrelevant in this case; any violations of the Rules will be reported for my Brothers and Sisters in [violet] to handle.
    • Corollary: NO TAG POSTS. You know who you are.
  2. OP expects no godmodding from the participants, and would like it to be made known that the narrative is likely to see the Confederation repelling the Kingdom's advances after several months of combat, in a return to the borders established per the very Treaty of Subic Bay New Luzon explicitly walked out of. However, since I find it tres interesting to see the conflict fleshed out beyond the barebones-by-comparison effort I could provide at most, this canon conflict is made available for the invited parties to participate.
  3. Currently, the use of WMD will not be permitted, out of in-universe concerns of escalation.

Contents
  1. OP for the OOC thread: Right here.
  2. IC: [DATA CORRUPTED PENDING REBUILD]
  3. Force Compositions:
    1. Visayan and allies
    2. New Filipino and allies
    3. Bangsamoro and allies

* There are various differences in how certain IRL persons are portrayed in-universe. Getting the glaringly obvious out of the way: the Marcoses are a royal family in this 'verse; in-universe, Marcos Junior is known as King Ferdinand II of the Royal House of Marcos y Romualdez. (Given IRL, hindsight is a BITCH!) It should go without saying, but under no circumstance should the in-universe portrayals of IRL persons be taken as how they would be IRL; that being said, for narrative purposes I will at most relegate IRL personalities to the background.

Here we go! Glad to see this get off the ground.
So, questions: In how far are the participants supposed to participate in the actual defense of the Confederation? Should we provide moral and material support only or would a few armoured divisions not be remiss? Or something inbetween? Also, in how far, if we are allowed to do so, are we allowed to launch attacks on the Kingdom's heartland, for instance by cruise missile?

Current plans involve the possibility of SOF units attacking New Filipino C2 facilities, military bases, and logistics centers. Attacking HPMNB Subic Bay is a possibility, but due to a portion of it being considered international territory--more specifically, the site where the Treaty of Subic Bay was signed--extreme caution is advised. Urban warfare is a probability in major Visayan cities.

Ships sitting off the shore lobbing cruise missiles at things are not an option?
I do have a drone carrier and a lighter carrier with river gunboats with the Mobile Amphibious Squadron, so I'm not completely out of the picture.

I know that asking to join a closed RP is bad sport but can I probs enroll as a singular corvette sent there to do some passive recon? Like that one Sorvemenny which during Praying Mantis casually strolled through an active war zone because it wanted to “take peectures for heestory”

So since it's a defensive war from what you said to Selkie, that means we cannot retaliate like say?? Strike deep in Luzon's heartland to it's critical military infrastructure there? Like naval, ground and air bases for example? Like with cruise missiles not with SOF even if they get the job done as well.

I'll probably toss in a unit of NavInf and maybe some shibs

Yes, the Main Event is a defensive war. As most of the Force Compositions will require me to pull out a backup of my notes—laptop gave up the ghost and thus needs servicing—it’ll be a while before I can get BLUFOR and REDFOR compositions up. SOF will be needed for deep strikes, but any hypothetical decapitation strikes would have to be planned in advance. Some of the more obvious sites will be heavily defended—Corregidor in-universe has become a full-fledged defensive installation, for example.

If you have IC ties to the RP communities here, I see no reason not to consider you.

I seem to recall my Luzon puppet doing a little Amrita...I imagine a case of Right Hand vs. Left might not be a bad idea? But yeah, don’t be afraid to do what you could handle after discussion.

IC-wise, this nation would officially stay neutral. Bangsamoro Ministry of State Security, however, may or may not use this to the advantage of the BPR.

Here’s a glimpse of the Irredentist War from the POV of someone in the thick of it:

[CORRUPTED] Ferrer
[CORRUPTED] Puerto Galera, MR
December 10th, AD 2022
[CORRUPTED]

"Is everyone aboard?" the Provincial Guardsman asked. The contractors whose building was requisitioned by the Guard were among the first to be evacuated—civilians they were, even if the uniform variant they wore didn’t make it obvious—as it was determined that the building was no longer tenable as a forward post.
"Yes, sir!" came the reply from some of Ferrer’s employees. [CORRUPTED] then spoke less loudly, addressing Ferrer this time.
"I know, shitty thing to do," [CORRUPTED] said.
"But you play the hand you’re dealt," Ferrer [CORRUPTED]

So, as mentioned in my last post on Pruch, the SDF-Navy has assembled a small task force (and let me emphasize: small task force) and sent them on their way. They will arrive, when it is allowed for them to arrive (if everything else fails, blame it on the freighters ; )).
As also mentioned, SDFS Bruinneall is in the lead. If they will take direct part in the fighting or not, either in support of special forces, by usage of their drones for various purposes or by lobbing cruise missiles around, remains yet ot be seen.

I know I'm new to the SEA group, but would like to throw a tag if allowed. Would be interested in a small amphibious ready group, with attached understrength MEU-sized element to be in theatre. If things escalate, Meridon being (in the ballpark) area of Australia can contribute more, but I think this is a reasonably sized contribution to the force.

If Selkie is interested, the ARG can team with them for escort, since it would not be sailing with its own escorting warships.

I wonder what reason would Nifon have to get involved in the war?

If it does though, it would be through a proxy - Bushido Solutions Ltd. Time to bring it back from the grave.

I seem to recall His Philippine Majesty’s Crown Government paying some good money for Amrita, and ideologically speaking, New Luzon does abide by a reactionary ethos that would find kinship in nations such as Nifon.

For my own as well as for other's reference, the initial ORBAT of forces present in theatre. There is the possibility that flights can come from Meridon to help but will need to be well in advance and will probably be limited to longer-ranged assets (bombers and transport flights). May expand this later if necessary.

Nifon does not chose it's allies on basis of ideology though. What matters is $ and Nifonese power.

A shame there’s a cap on Amrita, then.

Meanwhile, here’s another glimpse of the ramifications of War, this time from the Red POV:

[CORRUPTED] Roa, [CORRUPTED]
[CORRUPTED] Viscountcy of Baguio, Benguet Marquisate
December 20, 2022
[CORRUPTED]

This was not the first time Roa visited the City—Viscountcy to the reactionaries—of Baguio. It seemed like a cushy job, but when one operated right under the nose of the Royal Military Academy Baguio, extra effort had to be made not to stand out.
To most people, [CORRUPTED] was an ordinary subject, one out of many who kept their heads down, noses clean, and butts covered. The thirty-five-year-old has been working retail, running herd on salespersons for three years at this point. It was what nobody else in the office knew that made Roa dangerous.
[CORRUPTED] Roa was a sleeper agent of [CORRUPTED]

As mentioned, I will send in a small task force, which will meet the Meridonian Task Force (if you are still up for it, Legatia).
I would like to post an ORBAT here:
    SDFS Bruinneall, Maighdean-class Missile Cruiser.
    Nead Foiche Group
SDFS Nead Foiche, Faoileán-class Drone Carrier, flag.
SDFS Tiúilip and SDFS Fearbán, Scoth-class Corvettes.
      SDFAS Launceston, Port-Hackburry-class Fleet Oiler.

At the same time, a convoy of ships with humanitarian aid departed Wembury. A couple of freighters, escorted by a pair of ships of the Water Polices.
The Mobile Amphibious Squadron, as well as both Frigate Squadrons, are kept in reserve.

I’m fine with that Selkie. Will likely add an on-station AEWC/ AWACS aircraft on rotational coverage, either the E-2C or Wedgetail type. I plan to dispatch another warship for escort of our fleet, I will wait to see hostile ORBAT before I select the type.

For the record, the Bruinneall has eight Monarcha M-108 Reconnaissance Drones, some of which can also be AWACS drones, if you can't decide.
Drone Group Nead Foiche, on the other hand, has AWACS-M-108s.

Interesting capability. What kind of radar detection capabilities does that AWACS drone have? I will likely still dispatch one for air battle management regardless, but would be helpful to know. Perhaps they can serve as radar pickets?

...I am afraid, that we'll have to revisit that one. I know, that they can work in maritime patrol at least, most likely also airborne ground surveillance as well as basic AWACS service, but what they can detect and can't detect is a good question.

I would imagine sensors and payload on an aircraft that weighs a little more than a general aviation aircraft would be very limited compared to a full-sized radar on an AEWC plane. In numbers they might have a more notable effect?
