He had always suspected that the SSDF had interfered heavily with the last election in an attempt to have his opponent, an ex-Air Force General, overtake him in the final few nights. He could never be sure. The intelligence services had said the contrary but they had enough SSDF loyalists within them he couldn't trust their word entirely.
