Then wouldn't the "mirror cannons" be mounted on the outside of the second layer, rather than being entirely outside of it? This part isn't completely relevant, but I am trying to get an idea of what I'm trying to attack - which is necessary for tactics.
Also, regarding the mirror cannons - how exactly do they work? Initially, I assumed that they channeled energy delivered to the shield back at an attacker, but they seem to be attacking independently of my firing on the Fort, and I certainly didn't fire on the approaching ships, so I must be missing something.
1.If they are placed on top of the shields there is no way, it can hurt the second layer or the shields itself.
2. Fort Kyro is a large fort shaped much like a box and is the size of a small city. It's actually more like a box within a box as there are 5 layers of the fortress. You with your ship were most likely trying to shoot either the outer wall or the roof. Cannons lie outside the walls and roofs and shields, which every layer has.
Alright. Based on my intentions (being directly above Fort Kyro), I think it's safe to assume that I attacked the roof.
This gives me an idea of what would happen next, thank you.
3. Mirror cannons scan the weapon of the enemy and then convert themselves to copy the weapon. The best way I could describe it is if you ever watched transformers age of extinction. The new man-made transformers could basically convert themselves into small particles and change into whatever car they wanted. That is sort of how mirror cannons work, they literally mirror your weapons. They were featured in Fate one when the Korax had to fight an enemy they had no information on, so they copied the weaponry of their ship.
There are so many logistical issues with that explanation of the I don't even know where to begin, but I can live with it.
If you have something like that, I should be able to take off some of the limits I've been using to make this a fair fight, because I clearly underestimated the Korax.
EDIT: Final Question - have the Korax independently developed the Langston Effect as described in my factbook entry?
