IC thread is up
This thread is to serve as a general ooc thread for the upcoming RP about the civil war in my country. I'm completely revising my old lore, most of it is outdated.
This is a civil war between a new, religious democracy and the old monarchy government. The tech level is modern-tech, but I allow fantasy elements, I'm not hardcore realism.
Here's the map. Blue is the democratic govt, red is the monarchy.

You do not have to take part in a war RP. This is for general interest. I'm willing to write in multiple threads, such as RPs about diplomatic visits.
Background on the factions:
Blue: The Holy Republic of Querria: - dubbed "the black republic" by the monarchists, a provisional government raised by the rebellion. The provisional government of this new republic is led by the infamous "black sheep", a movement of lower classes led by the enigmatic and hot-headed sheep-class orphan Clair, alongside shepherd-class Dexter Mathis aka "black hand". This faction wants to instill democracy in the country and depose what they see as a corrupt and oppressive monarchy. Biggest sources of support so far are from the sheep-class masses and lower level clergy in the state church.
This faction has about 40-45% of the querrian military backing them, with most of querria's NCO core and some disgruntled officers. This faction control's 5/6th of the population and much of the coast. They control most of the capital, dungay, except for the quarter of old dungay and the docks.
Red: The Technocratic Theocracy of Querria: the Monarchist faction and the old government. Established by the christian shepherd cult, the old government created a bureaucratic caste system which is proclaimed to support people who are more motivated and devout than others, and allows people to move up classes by merit. In practice, this system has led to systemic oppression and abuse of minorities, and slave labor, which lead to the creation of the black sheep and the current civil war. The monarchist faction is led by King Ethan and Khalee Aristide. Internal Support base is largely centered around the military of the church, with most military commanders and head church members backing the monarchy still, along with around 1/6th of the population, largely conservative and traditional communities which sees a large pool of veterans in the sheepdog-class.
A lot of this needs to be reworked. Dinotopia RP is still canon.
