Moskovskaya Zastava Highway

The two A-10E aircraft were fired upon by anti-aircraft fire, luckily for now there were no missiles so they could save their countermeasures. They flew low and used unguided bombs to take out any anti-aircraft sites out in the open. Other than that they mostly flew low and out of sight of Aurelleon's AA guns.

One of the T-62s got blown up by the Reavers to their joy. Rocket launcher guys were overjoyed with this attack. Even if the second tank didn't get destroyed with the one missile it got, the result is still nice. The retalitation... it wasn't that nice. A highly explosive shell just hit the building, where snipers and rocket launcher warriors were shooting from and caused lots of damage. One of the floors partially collapsed. -"Holy hell, dudes! Holy hell!"-One of the snipers in hippy outfit said, as he was coughing from that concrete dust and trying to deal with ringing in his ears. Another change of positions, and two rocket launchers fired at the remaining tank. Third one wasn't fast enough, so he fell one floor down after that collapse and twisted his ankle. He drank a hearty dose of alcohol and now tries to fix the ankle back. Still, his comrades will have to wait for him.

As for the snipers, their life wasn't easy either. Desorientated and with ears ringing from that explosion, they assumed the new positions. Not all of them. Three haven't done this yet, two got wounded and the third one tries to aid them. The remaining snipers however, decided to attack from two different places. One sniper was offered three joints if he volunteered to fire a tracer to heavy gun fire on his position, away from the position of other snipers, who would use regular ammo. The single, well calculated tracer shot was fired at a fuel tank of a technical. Sniper hoped, that this shot would ignite the fuel and make it go off. Did he hit? Did it combust? He doesn't know, for he ran as fast as he could, after he compromised his position.. Meanwhile, three other snipers would fire at the enemies, who were fighitng Liam's group.

Now, what about the overadventurous Overboss? Well... One of the grenades landed near him. That was a close call... While no one was hit or severely wounded, Liam's left arm got grazed by one of the shrapnel pieces. Well, another battlescar for this fine warrior! Molotovs didn't work? Well, it's time to throw several grenades then. Same tactic, but different details. Liam told a new plan and his squad splitted into two and decided to attack from different angles. When one of the squad halfs lobbed three frag grenades at enemy soldeir general position, using belts as slings, the other part would advance. And then lob their greandes to let the first part advance. After assuming the positions, they would fire at the enemy soldeirs, PMCs and militants from the covers from two different sides.

One of the APCs got hit with the CGM-25 missile. Squad survived, but APC is inoperable now. Now, two squads are out there. Thankfully, the APC, that was covering the snipers on their way had finally arrived and replaced the damaged APC, firing wildly at the enemy general positions from a high caliber machine gun.

Ultranationalists and their mercs are tough nuts to crack, but so are the Sky Reavers. Now, Reavers wonder, what do Russian soldiers think of them.

Gun Runs and Turncoats
"Good Evening from St. Petersburg, the situation on the ground has deteriorate since I reported it earlier today. A portion of the Pro Government Forces has joined the rebels and is now attacking the remaining Loyalists. The Pro Moscow forces have been in a state of High Alert all afternoon as they scramble to rebuild their lines. A-10s have been doing Gun runs along the Main Highway all evening, The Highway being one of the main areas of Rebel control. The Rebels did return Anti Aircraft fire but were unable to shoot down any of the A-10s despite their best efforts. The conflict will likely intensify in the coming days as more Russian and International troops arrive in and around the City. Navy Moves Into St. Petersburg

The IRBS Orlando begins to move twords the New Port in St. Petersburg. However the IRBS Iron has to head back to restock on missiles and other goods. The IRBS Orlando passes under the Korabelny Bridge and anchors between New Port and the Vasileostrovsky District.

Special Forces Arrive

Meanwhile in Kaliningrad troops from Special Forces Group 1 (SFG1) arrive aswell as helicopters from the 13th Rotor Wing Division. Soon SFG1 moves on Pulkovo Airport and sets up defenses to use as a base for their operations in St. Petersburg.

The T-62 Tank managed to withstand the rockets but was detracked but it fired back another HEAT Shell at the sky reavers position. The PMCs and The Militants began coordinating the enemy positions requesting Mortar support. There is a ultranationalist mortar crew close to the Admiralteysky District the mortar team recieved the coordinates and began firing multiple shells. The Militants we're suppressed by the newly Arrived APC luckly the BMP-1 Arrived firing back at the APC.

The Boldonian Air crafts managed to destroy a Technical and the strafing ended with four dead militants this was reported and the attack leader sent three 9K35 Strela-10 MTLB's and they appeared on the Novo-Moscow bridge firing three SAM missiles at the A-10's. The attack leader Vadim Bullet-Tooth sent one T-72 tank and three BMP-1's to the highway they arrived and the militants began unloading and beginning the armored assault.

The ANN News Crew we're approached by two casual looking men but they had AKSU-74 rifles and they told tim that they are with the GRU and that they we're here for their protection. They we're also told that they are invited by general Viktor Sergei in the Mama Roma Italian restaurant.

Vasileostrovsky District:
The Ultranationalists and the Praying Mantis PMCs have achieved a triumphant victory after a second spearhead assault against The russian soldiers in the district. The Streets are filled with abandoned Goverment Military vehicles. One hundered captured russian soldiers. The Ultranationalist began waving their flags ontop of Russian T-72 tanks even more young men joined the Ultranationalist. The Leader Maxim Kastov uploaded a new video on the internet.

"Thank you James, earlier today two Russian Soldiers were assigned to protect us as we do our work reporting on the war. We also received an invitation to interview General Viktor Sergei. We are now in an undisclosed location with General Sergei, General thank you for your time. I know you're a busy man so I'll keep this brief. What do you want the rest of the world to know, and what is the military situation on the ground?"

A tough battle indeed, Reaver have to fight. Ultranationalists are unyielding sort and hold up just fine. Still, one of their tanks got detracked. It still can fire, and it did this again at Sky Reaver positions. Thankfully, this time, Reavers were ready and managed to abide by "two walls" rule and succesfully protect themselves. Still, another part collapsed and one of the wounded snipers is now residing in Valhalla with his body being crushed by rubble. The one, who tried to heal him was knocked unconscious. But, detracked tank is more vulnerable thankfully, and Liam's group came closer, while covering their advance with suppressive fire from their assault rifles and shotguns. And then threw several molotov cocktails at the detracked, but still functioning tank at it's different spots. Then, they used one smoke grenade to cover their run for other position. And had to run a bit further, as mortar shells started landing at their former position. Now, they gotta be on the move constantly and that limits their tactical choice.

Liam contacted the Neoners and asked them politely to deploy another drones with explosives and dispatch the mortar crew. Neoners would use two drones and load them with explosives. Antipersonnel loadout, greandes with additional razor blades and screws sticked to them. Two drones would fly low, trying to avoid enemy fire, as their operators are tracking the approximate places, from which the shells are being fired. When they would find the mortar team, they would drop explosives on them and try to make sure, that drones return. Success in not guaranteed, but it will yield it's furit if it happens.

As for the rocket launcher guys... A HEAT projectile had created a new hole in walls, from which one could see the enemy positions more easily, and they used it to fire three rockets at enemy BMPs to help Reaver own APCs in battle and then change their positions once again. Sadly, they all now got only one more rocket, until they reach one of the APCs, where they store supplies. Can't carry lots of rockets... gotta have place for beer!

Snipers mourned their fallen comrade and those, still capable, fired again, trying to take down enemy personnel. In the meantime, Reaver APC slightly backtracked, but continued wild fire.

A-10 Strafes

With SAMs being fired at them and running out of 30mm rounds, the two A-10s left and went back to base.

Vasileostrovsky District

The IRBS Iron had finished rearming and returned to St. Petersburg. Together with IRBS Orlando the two ships anchored nearby the Vasileostrovsky District. A flight of F/A-18s would come in from the west and fly over the District, bombing the Ultranationalists. However this was not the main attack and to the south helicopters carrying SFG1 would land and off load on in the South. Together with close air support from attack helicopters SFG1 would recapture Nevidimyy Teatr and begin moving north into the District.

The Ultranationalist went on high alert when they found out the boldonian soldiers captured the Nevidimyy Teatr the ultranationalist acted fast and sent one BMP-2 and two troop trucks. They also ramped up the anti-air presence all over the city making it hard for aircrafts to enter the city.

The Mortar crew we're injured but due to the heavy presence of militants on the other part they are shooting the drones down. The T-62 tank engine was damaged by the molotov attack lucky for the tank crew five militants rushed to their aid. The damaged T-62 loaded an Armor piercing shell and fired at the enemies APC. The BMP-1's we're going in full throttle and shielding the militants atleast one BMP was disabled by the rocket fire. The T-72 Tank aimed at the rocket launcher soldiers and fired a HEAT shell towards them.

Russian Goverment Troops began using RPG's and Machineguns to fight off the armored assault. The fight began... The fight on the Moskovskaya Zastava Highway. If the highway falls Moskovskaya Zastava will be overrun by terrorists and that will give them access to the Moskovsky District.

At the Mpp Bol'shoy Port in the Vasileostrovsky District a big freight ship arrived turns out the Sons of Liberty have placed the freight ship inside of the Lisy Nos docks a few kilometres away. having large containers the ultranationalist began using cranes to remove the containers inside them we're advanced weapons. Leopard MBT, Roland Anti-Air systems, VAB Armored personnel carriers and more equipment the Ultranationalists are no longer a bunch of casual wearing militants or ex-russian soldiers with their old uniforms now they look like Ultranationalists.

SIC: Considering the further deterioration of the situation, it was decided that in the interests of preventing the situation from further deterioration and to prevent the fall of Russian WMD’s to the ultranationalists, that the need for an active Russian intervention has clearly occurred. The Russian forces have been deemed unsuitable for dealing with this area- especially considering the recent withdrawal from the Vasileostrovsky District and the continued capture of heavy weapons and vehicles by the ultranationalist forces. Were Lakans to keep their intervention limited, the safety of the vessels would eventually be at stake.

For this very purpose, the Lakan fleet already present in the Baltic Sea shall be reinforced by an additional number of ships and units vectored in from the Hannover as well as from the Commonwealth of Ireland. Furthermore, the vessels located in the bay will begin offensive operations in preparation for the landing ops.

Due to the preparations for the landing, the Lakan ships are ordered to move closer to the shore, and the UAV’s to fly more active missions, their intent being to figure out the best areas to land the marines at, judging by the presence of enemy defenses and logistical situation in the area. The aircraft already present will remain on high alert, however due to their lack of offensive firepower and apt stand-off munitions, they will only act if the fleet itself will be attacked. Lakan SIGINT/ELINT/EW units will harden their efforts to win over the ultranationalists in cyber warfare as well as to figure out the locations of enemy’s major infrastructure assets. The C3ISTAR installations which the enemy still possess will also be looked into

Just to clarify: a naval blockade doesn’t mean that the ships are sitting outside the city waiting to be bombarded by things- a modern blockade means that the ships are sitting in the open water and monitoring the area through active and/or passive sensors- the ships running the blockade will be intercepted either by armed motorboats dispatched from the ship or from helicopters

Nevidimyy Teatr
Unfortunately for the Ultranationalists they appeared to not know what soldiers they were dealing with. SFG1 was a special forces detachment, and they had dealt with much worse odds before. The BMP was immediately destroyed by coordinated strikes from multiple Javelin missiles. The troop trucks were also easily dispatched using underbarrel grenade launchers. Any infantry were quickly cleaned up as SFG1 inched closer to the center of the district.

As for the freight ship that managed to dock, IRBS Iron quickly moved in and blew it up. The destroyer quickly destroyed the target and attacked a few more targets at the Port.

Lakan Blockade
IRBS Orlando had to restock aswell, however it was also decided it would do a few diplomatic things while out. First was the Lakans, who luckily were on the same side as Boldonia. Either way IRBS Orlando didn't really have a choice to speak with them since they were blockading St. Petersburg.

IRBS Orlando: "This is IRBS Orlando of the Independent Republic of Boldonia Naval Forces, we are on the same side and we are heading out to replenish our supplies. We request permission to pass through."

The IRBS Orlando was let through, moreover than that, they propose attaching one of the small ASW ships of the fleet to help guide it into the port safe and sound- the small ASW boat can protect it from sabotage and some air attacks, doing the first by actively using it’s CIWS to counter surface threats or continuously active pinging it’s sonar to counter demolition divers and the second one by using the aforementioned CIWS as well as it’s RIM-7 Sea Sparrow SAM installation

To fight against the ultranationalists, the "Interfront" battalion was created, the fighters are armed with machine guns, machine guns and grenade launchers. "Interfront" occupies the building of a printing house that previously belonged to a nationalist sympathizer. [Technoscience Leftwing]

The creator and commander of the Interfront battalion, Vilen Arturovich Mansurov, avoided a direct clash between his fighters and the nationalists - the forces were unequal. His tactic was different: to win over the working and poor masses of the Krasnogvardeisky, Nevsky and Kalininsky districts of St. Petersburg. Therefore, he seized the building of a printing house on Kommuny Street, near the Rzhevsky forest park and the Ladozhskaya metro station, as his headquarters. The building stood quite far from the city center, from the famous palaces, monuments and sights, and from the places of street fighting. But industrial and sleeping areas adjoined it. The plebeian youth, who lived there in conditions of hopeless poverty, needed social lifts. Shocks and riots could provide her with such a lift, and if one part of the young went to the nationalists, then for the other, prospects opened up through the struggle against nationalism, under the banner of socialism and world brotherhood. It was on this layer of youth that Mansurov staked. In part, this was reminiscent of the struggle of the socialists against the Kornilov rebellion, played out here a century ago. However, any analogy is inaccurate. Compared to that era, the age composition of the population was different: families had few children, young people were few in number, slow and cautious people aged 40-45 prevailed. Mansurov did not call the elderly to the barricades, offering them a different tactic: a strike, an economic blockade. He established contact with official authorities, but demanded unconditional autonomy in the field of propaganda. They agreed, since the official propaganda of legality and moderate patriotism ceased to affect the masses, the workers did not follow orders, the army and police fled or went over to the side of the nationalists. An alternative project of a social structure was required, Mansurov proposed it. The authorities considered that after the victory they could easily liquidate the Interfront battalion, in case of its disobedience - but for now the battalion is useful as an ally. So Kerensky once saw the Bolsheviks as allies against Kornilov.

Mansurov calculated that the nationalists would not last long if workers stopped bringing supplies to their bases, taking out garbage, supplying water and electricity, and heating buildings. Sympathetic youth who came to sign up for the Interfront battalion were given weapons, formed groups of them to patrol the nearby streets, or were instructed to build barriers from sandbags in case the nationalists broke through to the right bank of the Neva. To prevent such an attack, bridges were raised. In the areas of the right bank, camouflaged machine-gun emplacements were created in buildings and among street barriers. All these were defensive measures. The attack was not planned. Mansurov well remembered that chapter from Isaac Asimov's Foundation, where a powerful military armada was opposed by a general strike ("now on Anacreon not a single wheel is spinning, not a single light is on, not a single heating device is working, hospitals do not accept patients, communications are interrupted "). Now he had to arrange something similar in St. Petersburg. And after the defeat of the ultranationalists, the Interfront battalion will deploy against moderate semi-official patriots ... Due to the earlier extensive efforts put into gaining an advantage on cyber warfare side of things over the enemy (and considering that OPSEC is usually a weak side of any uprisings because people tend to not realize that even darknet is not a safe place from military intelligence), the Lakans should be able to get at least an understanding of the enemy being in possession of chemical agents- however, instead of this discouraging the attack, this would only provoke them to do it more aggressively. The reasoning for this is complex- first of all, almost all Lakan forces spend a good amount of their training by learning CRBN- this includes not only training to put on protective equipment but also performing various operations while in it, ranging from active fighting to more or less menial work, such as maintenance and even programming. Although such training is often used as a punitive measure (such as forcing a soldier to do all of the PT while wearing level 4 protective gear), all men participating in the operation know their way around the chemical weapons, and are better trained and equipped to defend against them then the Ultranationalists.

The latter part will especially come in handy- Lakans themselves are infamous for their history of using WMD’s, chemical weapons being part of it. Although the Joint Lakan-American Friendship and Disarmament declaration forbids them from utilizing chemical weapons, there is a small “backdoor” left there- should an independent investigation find the opposing side guilty of using WMD’s, they will be allowed to limitedly use them- provided that the collateral damage will be limited and that the local civilians will not be affected. You can probably see where this is going…

SIC: The marines, still underway to the theater of operations receive orders to check their CRBN gear and run gas attack drills, moreover than that, chemical engineers receive top secret-level orders to perform chemical attacks drills and to prepare to receive specialized chemical warfare equipment. Meanwhile, the rest of the personnel are all pushed through CRBN drills. All of the affairs as well as the following events are done with maximal attention to OPSEC- all media personnel aboard the ships are ordered to cease activity (they can take interviews, record footage- it’s just that they cannot release it. To ensure this, all internet upload connection (barring secure channels restricted to PSYOPS, recce and other pre-approved stuff) is severed, and all of the ships and aircraft participating in the operation disable their civilian transponders.

Considering earlier reconnaissance efforts, the Lakans should have a more or less clear view of the Ultranationalist assets, their locations and defenses. With the marines arriving soon, there is need to “soften up” their defenses, and it seems like the Navy’s got the right tool for the right job…

All of the vessels size of frigate (barring support ships but that’s a different story) and above in the fleet are fitted with VLS systems, which support the utilization of cruise missiles (Tomahawk and Kalibr hybrids)- but although the missiles pack a punch, for them to be effectively used, the enemy air defenses have to be “taken out of the equation” first. To do this, VTOL fighters from the carrier will fly SEAD sorties- but because of the carrier itself not yet being within range, they’ll have to get creative about getting there. In total, all but four the planes of the carrier’s air wing will participate, with 20 being loaded for SEAD (ARM’s, additional jammer pods and drop tanks), 2 for air to air combat, 2 being EA-18G-ish dedicated jammer aircraft, two carrying MALD air-launched decoys and the rest carrying short-ranged AAM’s and buddy tanks. These peculiar devices is what will allow the operation to go through- the planes carrying tanks will continuously refuel other planes and then head back, much like the British Black Buck Raid of the Falklands War.

To initially “gain attention” of the enemy radar, PSYOPS and intel units will purposely feed them false intel regarding the planned insertion of multiple Marine SOF units through the usage of low-observable helicopters- they’re even going to paint a single Ka-29 in black colors and “accidentally” fly it near neutral shipping to further provide them with proof of this. The Ka-29’s of the fleet, on the day of the attack, will fly missions right outside of the Ultranationalist’ air defense radar effective range, with the intention of getting them to turn their target acquisition radar towards the helicopters, not the planes. This should allow the aircraft to remain undetected long enough for them to come in range of their AARGM-ER missiles, which all of the SEAD package will carry four of- after their launch, the EW aircraft will begin offensive jamming of the engagement and target acquisition radars, covering the rest of the strike force. That same moment, the fleet will launch a massive volley of cruise missiles, targeting ultranationalist known supply depots, vehicle parking lots, storage facilities, crucial electronic and other facilities, known C3ISTAR installations as well as the supposed location of their political and military leadership. Some of the most important targets include the units which will be in direct confrontation with the marines when they will be landing. In total, more than 120 missiles will be launched, some with overlapping targets- should the target be successfully destroyed, the missile will move on it it’s secondary pre-programmed target. Moreover than that, each fighter in the attacking wing will carry two MALD-V’s, half fitted to imitate fighter’s RCS and half- cruise missile’s. Firstly, they’ll launch the latter ones and then- the former. This, coupled with the jamming (some of the MALD’s are MALD-J’s, imitating jammer aircraft and further shielding the actual attacking wing), should get the enemy air defenses to target the MALD’s instead of the actual attackers with what will remain of their AA after AARGM’s will impact the targets- by the time they’ll understand that they’ve been spoofed, it would be far too late… The actual strike package will be close enough to release their GBU-53’s and turn away (cranking if the enemy will launch anything at them), which should devastate what remains of the ultranationalist air defense assets and allow for the cruise missiles to successfully go through to their targets. Simple, effective and only moderately immoral, yay!

Meanwhile, the Strategic Naval Airlift Command will fly in a supply of chemical weapons and equipment necessary for their use to both the marine landing force and the fleet already participating in the operation through the use of their modernized SeaMaster jet floatplanes. At night, with all but the necessary crew members on all ships ordered to leave the deck (or lie face down on the deck, just not look at that side), they will offload the equipment and then take to the skies, flying back to the North Sea, where they’ll be refueled by Iceland-based tankers and then head back to continental Laka Strolistandiler.

The internal front:
All Lakan and colonial Internal Affairs depts have received intel regarding the supposed planned terrorist attack by the Ultranationalist, which in an extremely authoritarian Laka should not be a hard thing to feign, considering the sheer number of surveillance and observation assets at hand of the Miliz, the State Counterintelligence Affairs Ministry, the State Security Bureau and the sheer amount of passive intelligence gathered by the military. The Lakan populace, being at the receiving end of thousands of terrorist attacks during the last 5 years due to countless anti-colonialist “freedom fighters” trying to liberate themselves from their rule is somewhat accepting of these measures- and will probably treat the sudden increase in “random vehicle searches” and “completely unrelated to anything chemical terrorism warnings” as normal part of their daily lives- these things just happen from time to time!

Whatever intel they have on the attacks, such as the names and the identity of the perpetrators, types and makes of the trucks will be quietly passed on to the NSA, FBI, MI6 (and MI5 for a good measure), Interpol, etc- and to all of the participating countries, should they have a reputation for keeping the OPSEC together. Lakan Miliz, being absurdly militarized, will have completely no problem dealing with the terrorist in the most brutal way possible, stopping at nothing to get them, going so far as to accept some “collateral damage” and “collateral casualties”. After all, “it’s not about protecting the people, it is about showing them the resilience and the readiness to accept the consequences” of the Lakan people.
The trucks are also extremely likely to be detected on the borders- the border control has taken the time to install advanced particle detection systems, which allow for a near complete cross-section of the truck, with the info then fed to a neural network which studies the data and filters out abnormalities for the border patrol to inspect with a K-9 unit.

At the Kalininsky District mass riots began due to the peoples properties being confiscated by the Technoscience Leftwing Interfront battalion people out in the streets holding metal bars, Knives, Molotovs, and the rarely holding handguns. The Kalininsky people held ultranationalist flags and weapons chanting "Thieves!" Some news crews from the Moscow Times came in the district to take opinions of the people about this current situation.

Even more riots expected to happen in other leftwing controlled districts. Maxim Kastov is angered about this and demanded that all "temporary requisitioned" goods to be returned to the people in two days otherwise it will end in "Bloodshed".

Ultranationalists have launched an offensive on the Liteyny Municipal Okrug it was heavily defended by russian goverment troops with heavy armor it ended with a Ultranationalists victory the people in Liteyny cheered and welcomed the liberators even more abandoned Russian Equipment quickly turned to them. Celebrations can be heard all over neighbouring districts.

I mean the PSYOPS will probably do their best to flood the local internet with supposed targets lists warning and whatnot to warn the civilians and to try to scare some of the ultranationalists but people tend to do stupid things for stupid reasons. Also can I get an extension to my ORBAT in form of several SAC bomber wings stationed at Ireland? There’ll be some Sukhoi S-60 F-111A like thingy and many more of British V-bombers modernized to B-52H level.
