**** Kesslestaadt, UCK.

The streets of Kessslersaadt were lit by a myriad of neon lights. Most degenerate city in the world never slept, thousands of tourists heading to various destinations, usually of ill repute, to partake in endless acts of hedonism. But above the lights, in the skyscrapers dwelt a different Kesselsraadt - kesslersaadt of banks and finance, which - after the infamous bailout - now ruled the city state.

In the building of Kovacs & Sons Ltd, George Kovas stood facing the window, gazing into the neon jungle below. The businessman had small, deeply set eyes, face covered by a myriad of wrinkles showing his advanced age. White hair rested on his head like snow on mountain peak. He was dressed in expensive suit as black as night.

Then the doors behind him opened with a hiss, and a tall, blond haired man with oval face entered the room. He had a small oval face and blue eyes. He stood at the doors and spoke:

"My apologies Mr. Kovacs! But it is hard to drive through this city."

"Indeed it is!" Kovacs laughed "Too many people going to satisfy their urges, eh?"

"I would not mind to satisfy some later."

"But it is not the urges we are to talk about. Tell me, is everything ready?"

The man - Eric Smith, manager of Kovacs's organisation which posed as NGO, and in fact was his tool to pressure governments and societies, moved to the large sofa in front of the table.

"We have successfully infiltrated the main student bodies in Ishikawa Technical University." the man replied "The mood among the students supports our goals. Most of them don't remember the fires of red monsoon, and had the newfound riches strike their head. They will be perfect pawn, especially now that we have a reason for them to protest."

"That is perfect!" smiled Kovacs "They will do their part in saving mother nature!"

"There is one thing I don't understand...." Eric queried "Even assuming other universities join the strike, we still don't have resources to make the middle class and the army come to our side. Both are firmly in Kojiro's pocket..."

"We don't have to." Kovacs replied "I am not expecting them to topple the government."

"What?"

Kovacs turned around and looked into the mountains in the distance.

"I was born in a city where smoke and dirt were the norm. No one cared about nature. Gadayrian industry cared merely about itself. It was at that point I chose to be the saviour of the mother Earth." the rant continued "The forests? The mountains? Those are my god. Not the vengeful sky father my ancestors invented. But then I have realised that in order to be the saviour Mother Earth needs, I need sacrifices. Just like in nature one animal dies so another could live, here a group of students will be destroyed... all for the greater goal! "

Kovacs raised his hands:

"It is as it was written by Col. John Boyd. On physical level, I will loose, but I will gain a moral and mental victory instead. Kojiro, facing internal pressured in the party, will have no choice but to resort to force. Once he does, I will use what has happened to destroy Nifon's image abroad. Business ventures will collapse, and with it, the welfare of Nifon on which Kojiro built his power. Once this happens, Nifon will fall, and I will step in. I will buy it all! Am I not a genius!"

Sweat dropped from Eric's brow as the rant continued. The true George Kovacs was once again coming into view. The man who cried when a rabbit was killed for meat and felt deep compassion for animals - but this compassion did not extend to people. People to him were just pawns, which were easy to sacrifice for Kovacs's endless lust for power and money - all in the name of saving Mother Earth.

"Yes, you are a genius!" Eric had to play along "Anything else you want done?"

"Have the students behave as aggressively as possible!" Kovacs bragged "Let them release their anger! The brutal their deaths, the better for me!"

"Understood!"

With that, Eric left the room, leaving Kovacs to his plans.

**** University of Ishikawa.

Furutani Shigeru stood at the large square, around which the buildings of University of Ishikawa's Social Sciences Branch were gathered. The massive houses were built in the style of Eulabian neoclassical architecture after Nifon opened itself to the West. There were five buildings in use; one for library, one for each cathedra. Today however, they had a different purpose. The square was filled with young men and women; waved multicoloured banners. Among the crowd there was massive podium, where his fellow student just finished speaking. He then gestured Shigeru to replace him.

Shigeru walked on the podium. Wave of lights rolled as people photographed him. He rose his hands to pause, then begun speaking.

"Honored friends!" he started "I am glad to be here today with you. We have gathered here today to express our support for professor Sugita Hideo, who was arrested two days ago. The party claimed that he was demoralising the youth by teaching Marxism; I can not agree with that.

The crime of Prof. Sugita was nothing else but teaching advanced social science theories, which are acknowledged by all civilised societies. Those theories point out the privileged, and give voice to the oppressed. They shine lights on the injustice, and teach those in power how to be compassionate rulers. Civilised nations have banded together in the name of those theories, to combat inequality and evil. Soon, exactly by virture of our knowledge of reality, we will able to realise an utopia.

Yet Nifon refuses to be part of this utopia.

The theories that Prof. Sugita are a threat to the power elite in the party, connected to the current Shogun. They are almost without exception male, rich and followers of Krishtoukyo. In the name of their power they have denied us freedom of expression, the freedom of press and identity. Any attempt to eliminate the never ending racism is communism; any criticism of the power elite is globalism. The social credit system punishes us for every step we take against the party.

I say no more!

We demand freedom of press!

We demand freedom of expression!

We demand end to privileges of the Churches!

We demand end to discrimination!

We demand Nifon to become a modern, free and equal nation, and we will not go away from here until our demands are met!
"

A roar of praise rolled over the gathered crowd. The young men and women here thought that they were making history. "Idiots!" Shigeru thought and as quickly as he appeared, he jumped of the podium. He rushed among the crowd, as another student stepped up among the cheers of the crowd. Quickly, he turned behind the corner, where no one was.

"You are finally here." a hooded figure approached him "The police have already started blocking the roads. Kojiro-san will be acting soon."

"As I have suspected, they do react quick." Furutani Shigeru, or rather - Reiner Sakaguchi, an Aravean born Nifei mercenary in service of Siemens Ltd, currently on contract to infiltrate the local student body - answered.

"I will have to be getting out here." the hooded figure replied "When all is done, you will have to escape on your own. You remember where the safehouse is?"

"Of course." replied the mercenary with a sarcastic grin"We will meet there in three days. Until then, I have sheep to bring to slaughter."

The hooded figure left, and Reiner went back to the protests. It was time to feed the "s***-eaters" a proper diet.

"Just three more days and I am done with life. Then we can be together, Agatha."

*** Tosa Castle.

The chamber in which the five most important people in Nifon have met was a small, oval room, styled after modern western designs. It featured round table and chairs around it. Behind it was a small TV screen, serving for presentations; on the opposite edge of the room was a small desk, in front of which sat a middle aged protocol woman. Recording the meetings.

"As you may all be aware, this morning hundreds of students of University of Ishikawa refused to attend their lessons." the Shogun of Nifon spoke "They have banded together and announced occupation University of Ishikawa Social Science Branch. They are demanding freedom of press, information and release of a professor recently arrested under the Marxist Subversion Act. I have already informed the Ishikawa Police Commissioner to cordon of the Area and am mobilising the Imperial Guard in case of further need."

"There were no earlier indication of the coming protests?" asked Murakami Ejiro, visibly concerned by the developments.

"Ministry of State Security warned me that such protests may take place, but they have massively underestimated their scope" Kojiro continued "As I was recently busy with negotiations with Olpen and Armenia, I thought this was just going to be another routine disturbance and directed Suzaku-san to deal with it."

"Evidently he botched it" came a stern reply from Kurosawa Hidemaro "We may have to clean up this mess as soon as possible."

"I concur." Bashisou Gin intruded on the conversation "Kojiro-sama, I would request a motion that Imperial Guard be sent to crush the mobsters as soon as possible. Let them be made an example of to prevent others from joining them!"

"I understand your concern Gin-san." the Shogun replied "But I would like to resolve the issue with negotiations at first. If they do not accept my terms, I will deal with them in person."

"Kojiro-sama what you are doing is wrong!" Gin spoke in raised voice "The quicker and more decessive action...

"I would like to remind this body that this is a legislative organ. By the Mandate of Heaven I am in charge of the executive."

"And your actions are wrong!" Gin shouted.

"SILENCE!"

The Shogun roared like a tiger. The room fell silent, all eyes fixed on Maki Kojiro, who look a look at the assembled.

"I called this emergency session to inform you of the developments, not to hear your excellencies suggestions on how shall I run the executive." replied angrily Maki "But to enlighten your excellencies, if we go too hard on the protesters, we risk loosing prestige and billions in foreign investment. And I am pretty sure that Murakami and Toyotama zaibatsu won't like that."

The faces of Murakami and Hidemaro looked now even more concerned. "Of course all they are about is their money." thought the Nifonese ruler.

"As I have thought." continued Kojiro "The meeting is adjourned. "

And as all have left, Gin smiled "This is my chance. Soon the seat of general secretary of the Imperial Reverence Party will be mine!"

PROTESTS ROCK NIFONESE UNIVERSITY

Student protesters demand changes to government policy

Students at Nifon's University of Ishikawa today staged a protest at the university's social studies faculty, refusing to leave unless their demands are met. The situation is ongoing and Narodnaya Pravda will cover it as it unfolds.

The background to the protests suggests that the triggering spark was the arrest of Professor Sugita Hideo, who was arrested for spreading Marxist beliefs, according to Nifonese state authorities. This is hotly debated by his students, many of whom suggest that his arrest was motivated by the concerns of Nifonese plutocrats who felt that his teaching was a threat to their power. The students of Professor Sugita have resolved to occupy the faculty where he worked until such time as their demands are met.

The student protestors have issued five key demands:
1. Freedom of the press
2. Freedom of expression
3. An end to the privileges enjoyed by the churches of Nifon
4. An end to discrimination
5. The transition of Nifon to a modern, free and equal society.

In response, authorities have begun cordoning off the university to contain the protest. There are further reports of mobilisation of government forces elsewhere and it is believed the military may be deployed if the authorities believe the situation is getting out of hand. Nifonese authorities are yet to officially comment on the ongoing situation.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Comrade Viktor Yegorev has not been reached for comment, but it is expected that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will release a statement on the protests in Nifon in the coming hours.

The Yuri Primakov Lecture Theatre, School of Educational Qualification, Duovograd University, Duovograd, United Soviet States of Svadyetsk

The students at Professor Chornagovsky's lecture on the importance of differentiated teaching methods were quietly disturbed by the arrival of various important personages into their lecture theatre. A few glanced backwards as Professor Chornagovsky continued to deliver the content he had planned out for this lecture. Like most lectures conducted at Duovograd University, the lecture was conducted in Rostovian, though for the benefit of his international students, Professor Chornagovsky had set up extra projector screens to display his slides in more familiar languages along with summaries of what he was saying. In this way, he was both delivering his lecture and highlighting the importance of catering to the differing needs of students, a point he was trying to get across in today's lecture.

"Is that the Comrade Minister?" a student whispered nervously His neighbour glanced backwards.

"Which one?" A foreign student, who was having trouble identifying the men in suits and red ties, a sure sign of membership in the ruling Communist Party, responded.

"Wait, there's two of them! Two government ministers!" The two students snuck glances at the group who were trying not to be intrusive at the back of the theatre. One of them appeared to be gesticulating to the others. The object of his indications appeared to be the stage where Professor Chornagovsky was standing at the lectern.

"... and then, Comrade Minister, you will go up once the Dean has finished his speech, and you will give yours. And when you have finished, Comrade Minister, you will step back to the right, where we will be putting seats for all of the speakers. Which is when, Comrade Minister-" the short man with the nasal voice gestured to Viktor Yegorev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, who was standing next to the Minister of Education- "-will go up to the lectern and give your speech about the foreign students and their importance to our august institution." The short man with the nasal voice, who was the university's vice-president, looked set to continue with outlining the plans for the upcoming international conference when he was interrupted by the arrival of Viktor's personal assistant.

"Apologies for the intrusion, Comrades," Katya Mikhailova, Viktor's PA smiled at them. "I just need to borrow Comrade Minister Yegorev for a minute." Viktor waited until he was out of sight before he voiced his displeasure to his trusted assistant.

"That man is insufferable." Viktor grumbled as he rolled his shoulders. The university vice-president was the sort of man who it became torturous to be around after a certain amount of time had passed. "Have you tried listening to him speak for more than a few minutes?"

Katya grinned. "Sadly, yes. He used to be my lecturer." Viktor groaned and looked set to complain again. "There is a slight matter that needs your attention. If you could just read this..." Katya passed him a copy of the latest issue of Narodnaya Pravda along with a report that bore the insignia of the State Directorate of Internal Affairs.

"They want me to comment on this? Who wrote this?" Viktor looked confused. "And why am I finding out about this from the newspaper?"

"The briefing and article were written by the same man," Katya explained. It was fairly standard practice for members of the GUVD stationed abroad to double as reporters for the Soviet state newspaper if no actual employees of Narodnaya Pravda were available. Some of these state security personnel tended to jump at the chance to flex otherwise unused writing abilities, others tended to write with the same tedium that they employed in their reports. "The article was published before the GUVD saw fit to transmit their report to us."

"Damn those Chekists and their damn compartmentalisation," Viktor said angrily. His bodyguards, a pair of commissioned officers of the GUVD in full uniform, looked mildly offended. Viktor patted them on the shoulder boards to show there weren't any hard feelings. "I assume you have the car waiting?" Katya nodded in affirmation.

The university vice-president looked shocked as Viktor blew past him with a rushed explanation about urgent matters of state. Beside the nigh-insufferable man, the Minister of Education looked like he wanted someone to shoot him.

Inside the relative privacy of a government Petrovka, Viktor read through the newspaper and briefing. "We will probably have to issue a statement or something anyway," he commented. The juxtaposition of one authoritarian state supporting the anti-government protests of another authoritarian state was not lost on him. Svadyetsk may have become more open and permissive in recent years, you could now tell political jokes without being arrested for example, but the country was far from democratic. The government still retained full control over the media and press and the institutions of state held all the power. While the GUVD might have stopped exercising its powers of making dissidents disappear, that did not mean such powers had been stripped from the organisation. To be fair, the rich and powerful in Svadyetsk weren't that rich. And if you had the drive, you could go pretty far on your own merits.

The car pulled up outside the offices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Yeremenko Square. Viktor hopped out, followed by Katya. The car containing his bodyguards idled behind the one he had just vacated, the two men assigned to follow him vacating the backseat. As Viktor's party headed up the steps, the ministerial car pulled away and was followed by the two remaining security men who had remained in their own vehicle. Viktor knew that they would be back the moment he needed to go anywhere. The group headed towards the elevators and proceeded to the top floor of the ugly concrete edifice that housed Viktor's ministry. The bodyguards opted to loiter in the antechamber while Viktor went into his office to draft a statement. A quick check of his inbox and phone messages showed that none of the other ministers of state had said anything about the incident. He hoped none of them would start chiming in when he was halfway through writing his piece.

Image
The Government of the United Soviet States expresses its support for and solidarity with the students of the University of Ishikawa and hopes that the government of the Empire of Greater Nifon will come to an understanding with the wishes of the student body.

The Government of the United Soviet States also wishes to express concern at the situation and urges all sides in the current situation to act calmly and in a rational manner. The Government of the United Soviet States is willing to offer its services in mediation between all parties

Viktor Yegorev
Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Soviet States

When he was done, Viktor sent copies of the statement to all of the various government ministers who he felt were necessary to consult. When none of them raised any objections, Viktor called Katya into his office.

"Could you send this off to the Nifonese embassy, Comrade Mikhailova?" He handed her the statement.

Radical Marxist Protestors terrorize Nifon

Image

OPINION PIECE

From Sarah Haddad, Haramunean Patriot Girl, Donate to my GoFundMe.

A mob of ultra Left-wing extremists has gathered outside Nifon's University of Ishikawa Social Studies branch in support of recently detained Professor Sugita Hideo. Sugita Hideo had been arrested two days ago for what was described as spreading Marxist propaganda with the goal of corrupting the Island empire's youth. The Extremist Neo-Marxist theories being espoused by the protestors is not even hidden as Protestor Furutani Shigeru openly stated the goal of the protest is a One-world Utopia where Christianity is suppressed by Progressive rulers stating "Civilised nations have banded together in the name of those theories, to combat inequality and evil. Soon, exactly by virture of our knowledge of reality, we will able to realise an utopia." but how does on get Shigeru's utopia? Well according to him to obtain this utopia the so-called "followers of Krishtoukyo." must be liquidated by Marxist gangs when one truly looks in between the lines of the Protestor's speech.

Marxists by no means truly care about Freedom of the Press or Freedom of Expression these are all political talking-points. One of Communism's main ways to infiltrate a society is to disguise itself as "Liberalism". The protestors make vague claims of supporting "social justice" and standing against "injustice" words that are easily politicized and reversed. Marxists always march for Free Speech when they are not in power but once they get into power they swiftly crush any form of dissent. It is clear by the nature of these protests that this is none other then an Astroturf color revolution likely with wealthy backing and support. Potentially funded out of the Redshied occupied city-state of Kesslerstaadt potentially in retaliation for Nifon's bombing of the Redshield financial family's hard assets in Bashriyya through their front man William Bates who is under investigation by the ISAAC Human Rights Tribunal for rumors of human experimentation with bad vaccines and bio-weapons.

It should be noted William Bates whose fortune comes from Redshield grants and also sat on the board for the Redshield Foundation where he managed the Late James Redshield's Charites devoted to spreading similar Marxist propaganda as is being promoted by the Protestors in Nifon and as was being promoted by anti-Muhammed Nasheed protestors in Tifya who lied and publicly claimed to be exiles when they were not. Has a large sweat-shop computer factory in Kesslerstaadt where workers are mistreated on a daily basis. These men promoting these grandiose liberal ideas such as a fair wage certainly do not practice them on their own clients, except for the company enforced acceptance of transgender perversion. Bates upon James Redshield suspicious death where he potentially was involved had been infiltrating Bashriyya's economic system and diverting Redshield's funds. What could be the truth? Did Sadr sell out? Was Inyursta in the right? Regardless it does not matter, but what does connect this all is the hardliner Bashisou Gin who evidently had been in contact with Sadr Nasheed and has a very dubious political history.

It should be noted that while I condemn Nifon's illegal bombing of Bashriyya, turning a once prosperous Arab state into a band of tribalistic warlords and allowing profiteers like William Bates to get away unscathed. The bad diplomacy of Sadr and his connections to William Bates likely would have led to an overthrow by his supposed friends. It should be noted that Bates almost instantly sold out Dr. Basil al-Abub a man being falsely accused of engaging in torture and terrorism by the Inyurstan Government. Could this be a ruse pulled by the Inyurstan Government with William Bates? Could Inyursta be a Redshield asset and William Bates turning on Bashriyya for his Inyurstan handlers? Time could only tell. Maybe Sadr sold out? Maybe the Inyurstans are not Redshield assets?

But what is the connection of the Bashriyyan incident to these protests? That is hard to say but some of the same key players seem to be showing up. Maki Koijro who appeared to be simply forced to initiate the Ishikawa doctrine due to supposed Bashriyyan intervention in Wenchuan where Nifon has done some pretty horrid actions. Gin evidently has taken a very hardline stance against these already suspicious protests against the more principled Maki Koijro. Could these protests be done by Redshield Foundation linked NGOs, could the protests be Astroturfed by the likes of Baishou Gin with the goal of some sort of nasty power grab?

Redshield financed or not the protests in Nifon have all the same warning signs to look for, for one it was organized against a nation that is noted for its hard stand against the Global Power structure, it was organized against Nifon a very conservative society not unlike Haramun that is majority Christian as well. Similar protests have been traced back to Big NGO's all seemingly with the same Globalist agenda to destroy Christianity and nationalism. I for one stand with the Nifonese people against these Left-Wing Communist protests advocating destructive ideas. I however will also stand against any form of opportunistic power grabs.

The final Question today is this a globalist color revolution, or a staged astroturf event for a power grab by political opportunists or both? Time will soon tell.

South Haramun

A lone LH-3A "STREKULĂ" LIGHT UTILITY HELICOPTER landed in the country side of the majority Sunni Muslim district of Southern Haramun, the aircraft was allowed in Haramunean airspace from the Kingdom of Quirida as part of a diplomatic mission, Out came Sadr Ali al-Nashid and his wife and daughter. In his hand were offical Bashriyyan mukhabarat documents implicating Omar al Qiradi the leader of the Property and Islam society and founder of the Bashriyyan Arab Tribal coalition Colonel Nibal as conspiring with Theedishland, Nifon, and Inyursta to destabalize and weaken Bashriyya turning it into a divided rather then united Arab state, he also brought documents proving that the FDNL committed atrocities on the orders of Colonel Nibal who had a deep seated racist hatred for Sugogans and heavily blacked out documents about the Inyurstan airport massacre with numerous redacted names except for Colonel Nibal. Alongside him also were two body guards, racial white men from Norse Cascadia.

As he arrived he would quickly be greeted by the Grand Mufti Hassan Ali al-Maliki and members of Haramun's anti-government Pan-Arabist Sunni separatist militia Al-Najjadeh.

"Asalaam Brother, great to see you made it out alive the apostate Al-Mutamawwiluuni Order put a hit on your head, Ibadi dogs." said the Mufti in great jubilence to see the President survived.

"Yes, indeed this is what I have heard they did." Sadr replied

Sadr was angered "Our nation everything we built up and those bastards took it from us, but Wallah my friend William Bates is still willing to work with us still, we sadly had to give up Basil's body-double, who we swiftly killed." He showed the Mufti a photograph, they were photos of a laboratory. "Bates is on our side, when my father's prayers were answered and James Redshield finally was sent to Hell, Bates inherited a large portion of James's fortune. We cannot let him know we lied to him about Abub being still alive. "

"We are going to take back the country, and in revenge we will exterminate the wicked Inyurstan race once and for all." he smiled

"But first we must begin the Pan-Islamic revolution and reunite these once proud lands. You Sheikh are going to be my voice for the public, the world does not know where I am, whether I'm alive or dead. You will take care of my wife and my daughter, as I will go underground to rebuild the revolution of my father Mohammed ali Al-Nashid. For years I dishonored him and wanted nothing to do with him and now I will continue his plan of a reunited Arab Islamic Empire without the artificial borders created by the Colonialist pig dogs. Sheikh you have the power to declare Jihad."

"These are your orders from Bates himself." Sadr handed the Mufti a suitcase filled with cash, some microfilm, access to a secure bank account in Berytus, Haramun and and a small piece of paper containing the Mufti's new orders, which presumably came from William Bates. The Mufti was always climbing up the political ladder whether it was under Muhammed Nashid or Sadr Nashid, and he often did whatever he was told. Sadr and the Mufti both looked each other and then the Mufti looked at Sadr's wife and daughter he proceeded to speak. "Let us go to my home to discuss these matters further.

Image

Sadr and the Mufti both sat on the floor at a table, the Mufti's servant began to pour small cups of Coffee. "Haramunean coffee, said to be some of the best coffee here in the Eastern Pontus region." the Mufti and Sadr both drank, "So essentially Bates wants me to comment on this recent protest and announce my support for it?" Sadr said "Yes, from my understanding it will give us a cloud of legitimacy. You see some of the biggest channels in the Eulabian media are going to rehabilitate me essentially. They already begining to say I was the most Democratic leader in Northern Afruika, now they will make the spear-head for my return but you must announce your support for these protestors before every other part of the mission can take place is that clear now Sheikh?"

Image

"Greetings my fellow Muslims, I am reporting to you from a secure location today to comment on the recent protests demanding freedom and justice in the country of Nifon. The protestors are pro-freedom protestors operating under a most repressive government after the Nifonese regime arrested a simple professor who was merely trying to teach his students about justice and liberty. He was trying to teach his students about how that society is not just made to serve the rich. I urge the protestors to do as the Holy Koran dictates “When Tyranny Strikes Them, They Defend Themselves…” Do not be afraid to defend yourselves from the corrupt authorities who murder women and children.

Footage of Nifonese bombing in Bashriyya was shown after the Mufti's speech with drawing emotional music, the goal was simple to play on the sympathies and empathy of the protestors and manipulate them into committing violent acts. Words then appeared on the screen "THE PEOPLE OF BASHRIYYA STAND WITH THE STUDENTS OF NIFON"

The office of the Secretary of State

"Welcome. director Beak Kang. I've been waiting." The Secretary of State Yun Ji Hyeon stood up and greeted the director of the FSS. Despite being dawn, she was dressed in a suit, and so was Beak Kang.

"I'm sorry to have kept you waiting. I couldn't get off work until this time because I was signing a document to wrap up the Gusedang case. I had to drive my car myself because the driver left work." After the Gusedang incident, Beak Kang submitted a letter of resignation to the president, but the president did not accept his resignation. Instead, the president only asked him to work more for the country.

"Would you like a cup of tea or something? We have black tea and green tea in this office." Yun Ji Hyeon pointed to her cup of green tea.

"That's all right. You said you had something urgent to say to me. I want to hear what it is."

"It's a pretty important issue. Did you hear that there was a massive student demonstration in Nifon?" Yun Ji Hyeon took a sip of green tea in a teacup.

"Yes, I heard the news, too. I heard that when a professor was arrested for spreading Marxism, students protested." Beak Kang sat on a guest sofa in front of a desk in the Secretary of State.

"That's not all. The protesters demanded five things from the Nifon government."

"I know what those five are. There are five types. Freedom of the press, Freedom of expression, End to the privileges enjoyed by the churches of Nifon, End to discrimination, and The transition to a modern, free and equal society."

"They are all values that our country is aiming for. All five requirements of the protesters. "End to the privileges enjoyed by the churches of Nifon" could be translated as freedom of religion." Yun Ji Hyeon took another sip of green tea. "I'll ask you straightforwardly. How do you think our government should respond to this incident?"

"Are you asking me for diplomatic advice? I think it's a matter for a diplomat to solve, not for a spy." Beak Kang panicked.

"Since modernization, there has been only one thought that has dominated the minds of Seorabeolian diplomats. It's political realism. What this means is that if our country is a country that benefits us, it is ready to join hands with any country. Publicly or secretly."

"That's true. But at the same time, we are a country that openly values democracy and human rights. If we support the Nifon government, we will gain their trust, but our prestige in the international community will be diminished. Furthermore, there is no possibility that the president will make such a decision."

"That's true. This is why we are not hastily issuing an official statement. Furthermore, any official statement could appear to be a domestic interference from Nifon's point of view." Yun Ji Hyeon sighed.

"That's why you ask the spy for advice. All right, let me tell you what I think. I think we should issue two kinds of telegrams for this case. One is an official statement containing our principled position, and the other is a telegram to be sent secretly to the Nifon government."

"What should the secret telegram contain?”

"Well, that should be decided by the Secretary of State. But what's certain is that the secret telegram should contain details that are different from the statement. The content that will dispel Nifon's concerns and the content of our concerns."

The next day, a Department of State spokesman read an official statement at a press conference.

Official Statement

Our Government has no position on the series of political events taking place in Nifon. We will respect the internal affairs of each country and at the same time value freedom, democracy, and human rights.

At the same time, a secret telegram signed by the Secretary of State was sent to the Nifon government.

May your country prosper.

We will not have an official position on this case. For the time being. But I want you to know that we don't want Nifon's stability to be broken. Nifon's current government is our good diplomatic and economic partner. But if the demonstrators are bloody suppressed, our position will be difficult.

We do not want Nifon's government to bloody suppress the protesters. Bloodshed doesn't benefit everyone. A bloody crackdown would undermine government stability and could be a factor in foreign investors' and foreign companies' reluctance to invest in Nifon. We hope this case will end as peacefully as possible.

Sincerely,
Secretary of State, Yun Ji Hyeon

REVOLUTIONARY STATE OF KHAVAR
BUREAU OF INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS

Statement on Nifonese Situation

The Revolutionary State is closely observing the developing situation in the Empire of Greater Nifon, and wishes to let it be known that the people of Khavar fully support the efforts of the brave Nifonese students protesting against the tyranny of the Imperial Reverence Party and its 'Shogun', Maki Kojiro. The political repression of the reactionary Nifonese state is an intolerable state of affairs, and we hope that the Maki regime will see reason and accept the demands of the protestors, opening up the Nifonese political sphere. Unfortunately, we see little reason to believe that this shall be the case in reality. History teaches us that Bonapartist 'strongmen' rarely relinquish their grip on the levers of power voluntarily, and are all too willing to resort to violence to retain control of their kleptocratic regimes.

We are sure that the Nifonese students are likewise aware of this reality, and yet have valiantly stood up against this despotism regardless. Thus, we commend their courage and wish to let them know that the good wishes of Khavar are with them, no matter the actions of Maki and his minions. We urge Maki Kojiro and the other senior figures of his regime, and indeed the soldiers and police officers that maintain it, to choose their next moves wisely, for they shall all be judged by the world, and by history. We urge them to accept the demands put forward by the protestors, to negotiate, and to peacefully resolve the situation in a manner that will benefit the people of Nifon. No tyranny can last forever.

To the people of the world,

Secretary of International Affairs Şehla Mezin
REVOLUTIONARY STATE OF KHAVAR

*** Tosa Castle.

The office of the Nifonese shogun was in no means one expected from a national leader. There was little decoration - the desks, chairs and other equipment were all in simple black color, against white walls. The only visible element aside from them was a large Nifonese flag located to the left of the seat occupied of Nifonese Shogun.

Bishop Honda Daiei sat in front of the desk, looking at the Nifonese shogun sitting across him in all his glory. Kojiro's personal religious advisor was a short man, a bit overweight, with almost bald top of the head and oval face. He caused quite a lot of stir due to his uncompromising stance against ecumenism, when dominant streams of Nifonese churches chose to participate in the dialogue of religions.

"Kojiro-sama, you called for me." he inquired.

"Yes, I did." spoke the Nifonese Shogun "I have come to ask you about a certain issue. I hope that you do are aware of the recent events on Ishikawa Technical University?"

"Hai, Kojiro - sama. Everyone is."

"I have received information that a network of globalist NGOs are behind those protests. NGOs which were allowed to operate in Nifon under current laws. Which is why I have called you here, Honda-san. How shall I deal with those protesters?"

The Bishop was visibly surprised by the question, yet he continued.

"I am but a simple preacher of the dharma of Iesu no Mikoto. You, Kojiro-sama are the Shogun of Nifon. Why ask me that?"

The Nifonese Shogun sent him a glare so pale and devoid of emotion that Atsuragan froze in fear.

"Because my gut is telling me to brutally destroy all of them. While regrettable, I see their blood being spilled as affordable price for stability in the next two decades."

"KOJIRO-SAMA YOU MUST NOT!!" the Bishop protested, his voice nervous and in distress "I know you care about words of Iesu no Mikoto! He commanded us to..."

"He also put me into authority over Nifon" responded Kojiro, speaking so emotionlessly about death as if he was speaking about peeling potatoes "We both know that if I bend, my shogunate won't survive. Everything that I have built, will fall apart. Globalism will win. Okama will parade on our streets under a sea of rainbow flags as Nifonese will be enslaved by a cabal of global oligarchs. We both know that human nature is evil. Democracy thus means that evil always wins."

"Kojiro-sama, with all due respect, your allies..." the Bishop attempted to speak, but the Shogun intruded.

"Are monsters, I know." the Nifonese shogun paused "But I had no choice. It was either win them or be powerless. I chose the lesser evil. The state I have created is not by any means ideal. But at least Nifonese live in peace, in prosperity and among normalcy. There is no cancel culture, virtue signalling, or worthless money printed by scamming banks. Would you throw out everything I have accomplished just because of sacrifices I had to make across the way? "

"Yet if your excellency was so set on this..." asked the Bishop "I don't think your excellency has set your mind on this."

"Indeed." replied Maki, for the first time portraying hints of emotions "I am the Shogun of Nifon and I will do anything to save this nation, even if it breaks the understood norms of ethics. However, that does not mean I want to. I am a follower of Krishtoukyo and I take the commands seriously. However - that makes me wonder if there is any way forward aside from violating those commands."

"I don't know, Kojiro-Sama." responded the Bishop, deep in though "But I know that Iesu no Mikoto will make a way for you forward."

"But we all know that Iesu no Mikoto tests his servants" the former army general asked "He did test Hiob with plague. Is this a test for me? That I know not. However I dread to think if I will pass it."

"No test given by the divine is impossible to be passed."

"I wish it is a test. Because if it is not... I will have to take steps I feel are necessary to preserve Nifon as it is. "

"OVER NIFON - ONLY HEAVEN!"

ATTN: Secretary of State, Yun Ji Hyeon
SUBJECT: Protests
DATE: 25.09.2022 (8th year of the Current Imperial Era)
ENCRYPTION: TOP SECRET

Your Excellencies:

The government of the Empire of Greater Nifon wishes to communicate the following to office of Secretary of State, Yun Ji Hyeon: that the government of the Empire of Greater Nifon wishes to continue the positive ties between our nations and understands the state in which your excellency's government was put.

His excellency the Shogun wishes to resolve the situation peacefully and has no desire to see blood of the fellow Nifonese to be shed. However, his excellency the Shogun wishes to officially note that the protests are not, in his view, spontaneous acts of opposition but an organised campaign by certain forces to destroy and take over the Empire of Greater Nifon. Below attached is an intelligence report complied by Ministry of State Security about connections between the Kovacs Foundation and protest leaders.

His excellency the Shogun plans to invite the students to negotiate with him. Should however the students prove to be unreasonable, his excellency plans to ensure the law and order are upkept even by means of enforcement.

Your Excellencies:

The government of the Empire of Greater Nifon wishes to communicate the following to office of Secretary of International Affairs Şehla Mezin; that the government of Greater Nifon will not tolerate support for internal dissident in Nifon, and will take caution as a result of it.

The Nifonese government wishes to express it's desire for a betterment of relations between Kavar and Nifon; however such betterment can only happen should the comments be retracted.

It is also Nifonese belief that supporting protests organised by globalist billionares who may go after Kavar next is not in Kavarian national interest.

Regardless, should the comments not be retracted, the Empire of Greater Nifon will remember the statement and take every step needed to secure it's national interests - which will certainly result in worsening of relations between our two states.

Maki Kojiro (@makikojiro)
Just now from Ishikawa, Nifon

I am now officially addressing the students gathered at Ishikawa Technical University.

I am willing to talk to you. However, I am requested that all of the assembled peacefully part and go back to their homes.

Those who continue to participate in unruly behaviour will have their social credit score lowered by 50%.

Midnight Dahlia - Castille de Térro, Inyursta

Subprésidente-elect Matteo Armano ascended the elevator in the fancy Castillean hotel escorted by two SSII agents. Always dressed sharp, the young hot-shot checked his own waistcoat in the well-shined copper mirror of the elevator door, before the tight space finally "dinged" and he reached the top floor. Both escorts remained in the elevator, turning his protection over to whoever was working the rooftop.
On top of the hotel was a hip, contemporary bar with electric fire pits and planted topiaries. The bartender was present, and older well-mustached Inyurstano (himself likely either SSII or prior military service), but other than the black-suited agents standing in the shadows the only guest there was none other than Président Jean-Baptiste Calderone.

"It seems empty in here." Matteo Armano remarked loudly as he briefly leaned on the bar and ordered a drink.
"What's point of living in Castille if you can't enjoy the skyline at night?" The president said from across the bar, standing by the railing in a slot between two waist-height, square pots of manicured plants.
"What's the point of drinking in a fancy bar if there aren't any ladies?"
Jean-Baptiste turned and looked at the man he considered both a protégé and a rival with a look of casual disappointment. "Didn't you just get engaged?"
"She's a lady too, isn't she?"
"Your retorts are superb, but you can't rely on wit to save you in this city."
"We'll see..." Matteo said, taking a shot of cachaça. He left the empty glass on the table and grabbed a second, before walking over to the edge where the president was standing. Dazzling orange, warm white and red lights glowed beneath the moonlight sky, while the wind from the rooftop muffled the sounds of traffic down below.

"Have you seen the news of the protests in Nifon?" Jean-Baptiste began, taking a sip of his own Ortejan Honey Burboun poured to a thick-rimmed, tall and square glass with a falcon engraved on any side.
"Internal dissent in Ishikawa. Seems small and isolated." Matteo answered.
"You still think like an Inyurstan."
"Is that a bad thing, monsenor nationaliste?"
"Oh of course not. But something that would seem insignificant in one culture, may not be so insignificant in another. Case and point, these protests. To you or I, we focus on the practical, the physical ability and numerical quantity of these protests, and ultimately their ability to directly force change. Yet to Nifon, the sheer act of losing face by having students directly challenge the government is itself more dangerous than any physical action. Further yet, the cultural difference exists where we perceive ignorance and a lack of caring as a power ply, while to the Nifonese it is the opposite - a sign of weakness. When an Inyurstan man ignores his detractor, it shows he's in charge - when a Nifonese man does the same it shows he's not.
While you and I would sit back and laugh, Kojiro must ultimately act."
"And with Nifon being our functional spokesperson on the world stage, I'm assuming that..."
"Yes. Your assumption would be right." Calderone answered before he had finished. Both men were wise enough to know that while Inyursta was the "Attack Dog of SACTO", their Nifonese allies were the "Soft Speakers" who could often smooth things over for La Republiqua could likely only ever solve with missiles and drones; ergo damage to the Nifonese Shogunate was bad news for themselves.
"Then let us hope for our national sake that Kojiro makes the right moves..." Matteo said, polishing off his second glass of liquor.

It's not French,it's not Spanish,it's Inyurstan
"Inyourfaceistan" refers to my player/user name, "Inyursta" is my IC name. NOT INYURSTAN. IF YOU CALL INYURSTA "INYURSTAN" THEN IT SHOWS THAT YOU CANT READ. Just refer to me as IYF or Stan.

Kalingrad - Fort Kalinka

The crimson leaves of the Viburnum tree fall over to the autumn days of October, followed by the harmonious tones of muffled bells from Fort Kalinka's clock tower, reverberating over the fort's historic red walls and the nearby tranquil streets. The bells indicate the start of another session of the Union of Party Members Committee (UPMC), where elected worker's council representatives attend to legislate, form Janpian courses of action, and among other important internal affairs issues. Just recently, the news about the deadly Nifonese crackdown against the protesting students spread like a wildfire on Janpian social medias, and it was not that long before the news reached to the matters of the UPMC. Due to the growing public urgency on this matter, the entire 1hr session has been dedicated to the Party's response to the recent killings at the University of Ishikawa, which were perpetrated by the Nifonese Government. In the halls of the UPMC, 10,000 attendees, including the elected Union representatives, took seats in a theater-style arrangement. While at the front, the elected members of the Party Central, Ministry Commissars, and the People's Marshal face them as the elected officials and higher-ups of the Party. The Party Central speaker went to the podium first and began the opening statement.

Speaker:"Addressing the Union of Party Members Committee, the Janpian Union of Government Worker's Party is yet to take an action or response in regards to the recent brutal Nifonese crackdown at the University of Ishikawa, directed against the students who are fighting for the release of Sugita Hideo, and for freedom of expression, freedom of the press, ending the control of the Church, ending discrimination, and to be an equal state with no injustices..... I will leave the session in the hands of the Worker's Council"

The speaker arranged her papers and stepped away from the podium. It was not that long before one of the attendees opened his mic, automatically locking the mic of everyone in the UPMC for him to speak.

Representative Greschkel Shumari:"With introduction necessary, I am Sir Greschkel of the Uglava Kolshak Union. As for my suggestion- it is simple. And that is to condemn the Empire of Nifon and the ones in charge as responsible. Yes, even their Shogun!"

Greschko spoke in a loud, provocative, yet sleazy manner, which received murmurs and awkward stares from the People's Marshal. He continues, breaking a small sweat on his honor.

Rep. Greschkel Shumari:"I would also suggest that we start an international motion to kick the state of Nifon out of the KTO unless they haven't responded appropriately. Surely, I believe they have a decent explanation"

His words only received additional murmurs and a few positive nods from the UPMC. The small silence and bickering continued for a while until some Worker's Council representatives opened their mics to state their support. A few others followed, and soon, the number of supporting statements grew with little resistance to Greschkel's proposal. This was then interrupted by Ariso Yuslaka, who is the elected Commissar of the Ministry of Economy and Trade. He opened his mic amidst the growing surge of support, and spoke in front of the 10,000 Worker's Councils representatives, locking their mics for him to speak.

Commissar Ariso"By the Revolutionary interests, Nifon is an important trading partner not just for the Party, but for the KTO also. Kicking them out would not only deprive us of their zaibatsus, but also others. A socialist state must adapt to fight for the overall goal. Do I need to remind you all that the Nifonese were vital trading partners during the Marajarbian interdiction order? I believe that the Revolutionary Council would also like to remind you that our tracked artillery came from them also! What is it again? Morita? Moriya?"

He laughed as he said the last sentence, trying to make a joke for the UPMC. But the only reaction he received was a long line of silence, with some attendees just checking their papers and some chatting with each other. One representative, however, openly challenged him. He gets to his feet and adjusts the mic on his mouth.

Rep. Perischu Wakare:"I'm Perischu of the Alyavask Steel Union."

He took a small pause to grab the attention of Commissar Ariso, then continued.

Rep. Perischu Wakare:"If I may, Commissar Ariso, I would like to point out that you have spoken like a true anti-revolutionary, who is not worth the interests of the working class! The Empire of Nifon is a capitalist state, and it doesn't matter if we condemn them! You haven't talked about the interests of the worker's revolution, except the interest in business! People died fighting social injustices, and we're not going to condemn them because of history!? I will agree with Greschkel's proposal. We must condemn every act against the revolutionary interests of the workers if we want to be the vanguard of socialism"

Commissar Ariso gave a small fake smile from Perischu's statement, which receives a lot of support from the UPMC. Not wanting to back down, Ariso answered back

Commissar Ariso:"Surely I do speak for the interest of the revolution. While the Nifonese response is indeed brutal and horrific, the economic factor of condemning them outweighs the positives of it. In the first place, what does a condemnation do? It is just public support to showcase one's interests and to tell the world that we stand by morality and justice. But looking at our main goal, an economy must be able to face the capitalist world, in order for the revolution to survive the transforming social and material conditions, as stated by our Revolutionary ideals. We need Nifon to maintain and grow our economy. I could say that the same statement goes with our allies such as Gonswanza, Oceania, or Galapagos. We give them profits while we get better economic statistics"

Of course, the statement of the Commissar annoys some members of the UPMC.

Rep. Perischu Wakare:"It is not in the Revolution's interests to ignore the people who died fighting for freedom. In the long run, a Nifonese state run by the people without prejudice would benefit the Party more than an Imperial state. Indeed the Ideals state that the Revolution must adapt to the newer social and material conditions, but this is not the way that our forefathers wrote. If any, they would stand by the students and ask for the release of Sugita! True justice and freedom must have power over the economy and historical interests or debt!"

A few UPMC members harmoniously chanted together in agreement, while others noted it in their notes and papers. While things were getting tensed up, the People's Marshal simply just watched the entire situation unfold, while a few Commissars and Party Central members seemed to have lost interest in the topic, with some fidgeting with their pens or checking due laws.

Commissar Ariso:"Bold of you to claim such a statement Sir Perischu. As we all know, the people's livelihood and material conditions are under the central planning of the Ministry of Economy and Trade. But be reminded that some resources to achieve the social and material conditions that we currently experience cannot be found on Janpia itself. For example, spare parts for our Moriya artillery or imported special materials for our manufacturing. Sir Perischu, I ask you this: I am quite sure that you are aware that internationalism is one of the cores of the Revolutionary Ideals. So, what should the Party do if these internationalist nations are capitalists? I can think of a few socialist nations like the Aquaria or Yitanka, but yet again, capitalist nations such as Nifon, Gonswanza, Anagonia, or the Empire of Common Territories are vital to our economy. Be reminded that the Empire of Common Territories provided machinery for our Kolshaks. In the past, Nifon gave us the most favored nation status which helps alleviate our overall economy during the tensions with the Marajarbians."

Most that have chanted in agreement with Perischu went silent, while Perischu himself remains in silent. And gave a small statement

Rep. Perischu Wakare:"If the internationalist nations are capitalists, then it is our duty as the vanguard of socialism to spread the revolution abroad, as provided by Janpia's history"

Perischu takes a seat, but Commissar Ariso still isn't quite done yet and stated some finishing blows

Commissar Ariso:"Are you out of your mind, sir Perischu? Promoting or aiding wars in other nations drains our resources. Sure, our international revolutionary acts on Visegrad, Muqaddasia, Kuwait, ACI, and a few nations were successful, but such actions have caused the deaths of many revolutionaries such as the heroes of Marsa Alam, the destroyed JP-1 column in Czechoslovakia, the failed attempt at Galapagos, the sinking of JRS Kleyom, and a bunch of others! Surely, what I'm doing is a peaceful way of putting our revolutionary interests first. People may die now, but the overall goal for the survival of the revolution must go first"

Seeing that there's not much response, Commissar Ariso looked towards the People's Marshal, bowed down, and said in a professional tone

Commissar:"My case has been concluded."

He then proceeded to his seat, much to the amusement of the People's Marshal.

The Janpian Union of Government Worker's Party, under the collective decision of the Union of Party Members Committee, the Party Central, and the People's Marshal, has stated their concerns about the recent crackdown against the students at the University of Ishikawa. In a joint statement, the Party recognizes the authority and legality of the Nifonese Government over the University, and has demonstrated legal actions from the law enforcement. While the crackdown is unfortunate, the Party wishes that investigations must be appropriately held, with the true intentions of giving justice and proper closure to this incident. The Party seeks nothing but an overall outcome of peace and will stand in solidarity with the Nifonese.

*** Ishikawa Technical University:

The mood across the entire university was celebratory. Fireplaces burned all over the campus, as hundreds of students rested on the large square between the buildings. Songs - mostly foreign music, declared immoral by the shogunate - were played and sung by hundreds of throats in unison. The gathered seemed unfazed by forces of police and imperial guard gathering outside.

Furutani Shigeru sat near one of them, listening to the music. It reminded him of home - of Agatha waiting for him there. He wondered if she would still love him if she knew what kind of deeds he had done to provide them an escape out of poverty. Next to him sat two other members of the Student Liberation Committee.

"That one was really good!" another of the students next to him, and one of five members of Student Liberation Committee, Iseri Hitoshi, spoke. He was an individual with middle height, round face and long hair, which he wore in defiance of all party regulations. His very look made him seem feminine - which put him on the bad side of the party "Once the government is toppled, we can listen to it all we want!"

"Baka." Reiner thought "You won't topple the government. You are nothing else but sheep led to slaughter, your sole purpose to die for profit of my masters."

"I know, right!" Shigeru smiled, playing cheerful "Then we will be able to express ourselves freely."

"Have I told you that freedom of expression is why I am here?" Hitoshi countered.

"No?"

"I was once part of a rock band." Hitoshi's face started portraying visible sadness "It was through the internet that I have first met the kawaii culture. I have decided to bring it here, to Nifon."

"And let me guess." Iwasaki Sachiko asked. She was a young woman, aged 22, with raven coloured hair tied into a ponytail "The party did not like that."

"Indeed. They ordered me to disband my band. Had I not, I would have been thrown out of the university, and received a social credit score so low I would not have been able to feed myself."

"Pigs!" shouted Sachiko,

"And why are you here, Sachiko-kun?" asked Reinger, feigning concern.

Upon hearing this question, Sachiko burst into tears.

"Sachiko, what is wrong?" asked Reiner, feigning curiosity.

"I was... I was..." the woman continued to cry "I was raped by a bishop. He threatened to destroy me if I refuse..."

The faces of the assembled now went grim. No one dared to say a word.

"When after the incident I finally gathered enough courage to tell everyone what has happened, I was treated as if it was my fault." she continued sobbing "I was told that I have tempted him, that it was all my fault. My every friend turned from me, and the Bishop retained his office, his reputation barely scratched. I am..."

And there she lost it, the trauma becoming too much to bear. The woman turned into a sobbing wreck, unable to recollect herself.

"Sachiko, it is ok!" Hitoshi moved to her, wrapping his arms around her. They sat in there, speaking nothing, until Sachiko has calmed down.

"Furutani-kun!" another student shouted, running to him "Movement outside."

"Show me!" Furutani responded, grabbing his guitar's pouch and flinging it on his back.

They ran together to one of the buildings. The halls were now empty, attended by no one. The pair stopped in front of a large window, allowing them to get a clear view of the police outside.

Reiner looked at the assembled forces of the security apparatus. They walked together in unison, rank after rank, like disciplined well oiled machine. They held their riot shields in hands, helmets covering their faces; by military uniform they wore Reiner guessed he was looking at the Imperial Guard instead of the police.

"Looks like th" the student attempted to speak something, but then a powerful arm covered his mouth, and searing pain erupted from his kidneys. He did not know what to do - the struggled a little until the life left and darkness covered him.

Reiner removed his knife from the student's body, and moved it to the side. Now was the time. He moved the body to the side, and opened his guitar pouch, revealing not an instrument of music, but of death. There, inside, laid VSS Vintorez provided for him by his employers.

The contractor removed it from the cover, and made a check on the scope. Then, he approched the rifle at an angle, minimising his exposure from the outside.

Outside, a man in the Imperial Guard uniform stepped on a retired MRAP now used for riot duties.

"ATTENTION ATTENTION! THIS GATHERING IS ILLEGAL! YOU ARE ORDERED TO DISPERSE!" continued a monotonous chant coming through speakers.

Reiner aimed at the man's head. The contractor corrected the aim for the wind, held his breath... and fired. Seconds later the Imperial Guard's head exploded, showering his comrades with his brains and gore.

The mercenary did not permit himself rest. He fired several more shots, sending the guardsmen fleeing. Once disciplined force broke ranks and moved behind whatever cover it could find, it's training saving it from further causalities. Some braver guardsmen exposed parts of their heads, trying to locate him; but Reiner knew that their pistols won't be accurate at this range.

"KUSO! CONTACT!" he heard several panicked shots from the ranks of the security services.

Then Reiner threw the weapon in again and ran. He ran through the corridors, then into an empty field where no student was. Then, he lifted the cover and entered the sewers, running at full speed through it.

"Useful idiots." he spoke to himself "You thought you could change the world. Well, your desire had a good use. With that Maki-san will cut you all down, and there is no chance his reputation abroad will recover from it."

From Setsuzoku:

KOVACS FOUNDATION FOR DEMOCRACY (@Kovacs_foundation)
Just now from Kesslerstaadt:

Shots were fired at the Nifonese Imperial Guard members stationed around Ishikawa technical university. At least six guardsmen were hit and at least two are confirmed dead. The status of the rest is unknown.

It has been suggested by our sources in Nifon that it was a work of a police provocateur, ordered to commit violents acts under false flag to justify a violent crackdown.

This event shows the sheer extreme to which the dictatorial Nifonese regime will go to preserve it's power.

House of Government of the Trans-Uralian Federation

Most of those within the large hermit kingdom had known nothing of the affairs of the outside world, other than those in the higher echelons of the government of the Trans-Uralian Federation. Those higher eschelons were present in the many lavish government buildings across the capital city of Svoborisk.

Within the House of Government, gathered a decent amount of bickering ministers arguing what should be done to exercise their strength abroad, all the while a handful of ministers were in one of the corners discussing the same topic. One of these was Minister of Agriculture Yurey Marcinkievič. He listened intently to his fellow ministers and had waited for an opportunity to speak his mind.

"Gentlemen, gentlemen.. I thought of something we can do" Piped up Yurey, as the other ministers quieted down to hear the idea from the Minister

Nifon is suffering from an issue we suffered from ourselves, right? The students had asked for the same things in the same way. What I believe we should do is to safe face we publicly support the students, but we give our actual support to the government and aid in the suppression of these students.

The idea has resonated with ministers in the corner, having been reminded of the wide-scale protests in 2004, the ones that agreed had given it some thought and few had disagreed with this proposal but it was futile at that point. Marcinkievič’s plan had began to make the rounds throughout the conference room from minister to minister, eventually reaching the ears of the Foreign Minister of the Trans-Uralian Uladzimir Šukieloyts.

It’s settled then.” the Foreign Minister stated.

The Foreign Minister stood from his chair, picking up his papers and notes, and had stepped out of the crowded conference hall.

The well-oiled bureaucratic machine began to work, with the foreign ministry quickly drafting a letter to the government of Nifon.

Ted Beaucheme was tired from writing diplomatic papers all day, but he was never tired to serve the Aursian people. Just when he was going to leave the Diplomacy Center in the evening, an aide came to him and delivered the news to him of the Nifonese Authority had shown its power at Ishikawa University. Ted Beaucheme never wrote his own opinions due to laws and his contract, although, most of the time, his opinion was the one on the document. This time it was the same, after calling Chancellor Serik Ulyanov, the Chancellor would say the same thing to Ted that he wanted. He would go back to his chair and start writing. In the end, his document looked perfect. He was waiting for the reaction of the world. He wanted to see how everyone took this. He would publish it across the world.

Official Message from the Aursian Government

Date: October 12, 2035

The Democratic Federal Republic of Aursi hereby commends the Nifonese actions at Ishikawa University in Nifon. Nifon has every right and Authority to do so. A softer approach could have been taken by the Nifonese Authorities, but Aursi believes, Nifon is correct in this matter. However, Aursi recommends the Nifonese Government take a softer approach, as this will be more beneficial to Nifon and more appropriate to the whole world.

*** Ishikawa Technical University

The storm came shortly after. The sea of policemen and guardsmen roared like waters during a typhoon. Phones roared, receiving and ordering commands from the Tosa castle itself. Upon receiving news of a mysterious sniper, Maki Kojiro lost all desire for a peaceful reconciliation with the protesters and ordered a brutal pacification of the riot.

Over 700 students stood on the university's square, hundreds of throats singing "Harukaze" - a popular song by Jpop band, banned by the government for promoting "degeneracy". Originally a song about a girl's love for another girl, the song became a new anthem of revolution. In hands, the students held whatever they could get - brooms, knives, bricks and other objects they planned to use in the upcoming fight.

It contrasted loudly with the mechanical voices coming from the ranks of the security services, ordering the assmebled to disperse or face consequences. Over thirteen companies of imperial guard plus local police were brought in to deal with the riot. Additionally, a special operations platoon was called following the use of firearms. It's black clad men stood at the rear, ready to enter the action.

Colonel Suzuki Masa listened to the song coming from the university's square. He could not see the assembled crowd directly, but drone feeds had told him all he needed to know. Next to him stood Lieutenant Kato Hiroyuki, commander of a special operations platoon that had been called on scene following the incident with the sniper; and Lt. Col. Anzai Kenta, his cheif of staff.

"They are celebrating loudly are they not?" Lt. Col. Anzai broke the silence "Pity that we are about to crash their party."

"It is a pity it has even came to this." Colonel Suzuki replied "But we have no choice. Those students have allied with the enemy."

"Gah!" sighed Lt. Kato "I don't mind killing some at all."

Suzuki cursed inside his head, knowing very well what kind of man Kato was. The man commanding the special operations platoon was a typical member of Nifonese aristocracy, despising lower class and considering it little more than animals to be killed at will. The officer in charge knew that should it come to worst, Kato would not bat an eye from spilling blood.

"Need I remind you.." Suzuki addressed Kato "That we were only authorised to use your men and live rounds if situation becomes extreme?"

"Of course, sir!" for all his bloodlust, Kato was a good guardsman. Then he walked away to join his platoon.

Masa then sighed, and lifted the radiophone:

"Execute."

The storm has started. Dozens of firecrackers and tear gas canisters were flung over the makeshift barricades formed by the sudents. Cries of fear were heard from the other side.

Then the forces moved. The security services advanced on two axes; the main and additional one, each spearheaded by a tank. Massive beast named after one of Lord Kenshin's most famous generals rammed the barricade, pushing junk aside as it tore through it. shortly affterwards, the driver noticed another barricade and chose to ram it.. only to get stuck. Like a beetle on it's back, the hulking behemoth laid, unable to move.

The guardsmen followed the tanks on each axis, barging into the university. They now could see a horde of students coming up their way. "Harukaze" was sung even louder, as the students assembled to fight; hundres of rocks flew at the guardsmen, bounding off riot helmets and shields. Then the two groups clashed.

Batons rained on students; and blows of makeshift weapons fell on the guardsmen. Students from upper floors now shown themselves, pouring whatever they could on guardsmen down below; chairs, desks even boiling water. One of the guardsmen yelled in pain as boiling water fell on him, inflaming his skin blood red.

Yet the students also fell; grabbed and dragged behind lines of the guardsmen, where they were handcuffed. Usually, a brutal beating followed. Some of the guardsmen shot rubber bullets, uncaring about potential damage to the ones they were supposed to arrest. Slowly, the student body was pushed further and further back.

But while the advance across the main route went steadily, the additional route did not fare so well. New groups of students kept running to help their mates, and soon the guardsmen were pushed behind the barricde on which the tank was stuck. Three guardsmen fell then in the hands of the students.

Iwasaki Sachiko rushed to the captured guardsmen, a knife shining in her hands.

"PIGS!" she shouted, stabbing the knife in between the guardsman's riot armour. Next to her, other students rained blows on the remaining guardsmen.

Hiroyuki looked at the UAV feed, anger filling him to the core. How dare this trash harm his fellow guardsmen?

"MOVE! MOVE! MOVE!" he commanded his platoon to enter in, not even waiting for permission from his CO. He needed no orders when his fellow guardsmen were threatened.

Colonel Suzuki, with his attention captured on the main axis, noticed the special platoon's movement too late. Dozens of armed, black clad men were moving across the buildings in columns, like evil black centipedes.

Back at the barricade, the guardsmen were pushed from the barricade, and the tank burned, flames from endless amount of Molotov cocktails crowning it's turret.

Lt. Kato crept behind the edge of a house as he scanned the events. The Police has was now being pushed almost to the entrance to the campus. His men took good firing positions at an upper floor of a local flat; allowing them to fire over heads of the policemen, and directly into the students.

"Weapons free, weapons free! Shoot to kill!" he commanded, before unlocking his own Arakawa.

Triumphantlly, Sachiko ran at the top of the barricade. Dozens of students followed her, knife shining in her hands.

"SEE PIGS!" she shouted "THI..."

She could not finish, but a follow point round slammed directly into her head, which then exploded into a fountain of gore, spilling her brain on the students following her. Further shots followed, tearing the following students apart. Some fell instantly, massive holes punctured in their bodies; others ran in panic to take cover behind the barricade.

"SOMEBODY HELP!" a feminine voice came from behind the barricade.

"Trash..." thought Kato as he aimed at yet another student. A second and a massive hole appeared in student's belly.

Panicked students have now all but retreated. Kato wanted to follow them inside, but a voice of Colonel Suzuki came from his radio.

"All stations this is Hagaki actual" the colonel spoke "Withdraw and regroup outside the university. I say again withdraw and regroup, over."

Kato sighed. How dares his superior deprive him of his prey? But as a soldier, he knew his duty.

"This is Yamato actual, Willco, out!" he said, locked his rifle and ordered his men back.

*** Later.

The security services had withdrawn, and had not attempted another attack.

Several hours later a negotiator was sent in. Use of firearms shook the student's morale, and most of them, having learned what a bullet does to the body, feared they would be next.

In the early morning ours, the students were allowed to leave the university and go home. Only the leadership - or what remained of it - were arrested and brought to the building of Ministry of State Security for interrogation.

The police then secured the campus, stepping over bodies of the students killed by the special platoon. And worse - they found no firearms.

Your Excellencies:

The government of the Empire of Greater Nifon wishes to communicate the following to office of Foreign Minister Uladzimir Šukieloyts; that the Empire of Greater Nifon thanks the Trans-Uralian government for it's support. However, the Empire considers it's security services adequate to deal with the situation.

Nifonese state would however request a sharing of intelligence regarding George Kovacs and organisations. We believe this man to be behind the protests. The fact that he sponsored them in Nifon makes it likely he will attempt to repeat this action elsewhere.

Ishikawa Technical University

Oikonos Klax was a member of the Artisan Caste, and had gone into a career in journalism because it seemed like an interesting job, and he liked the idea of serving his country in doing so. The Sentinel was a state organ, intended to provide subjects with news and filter it so that they were not infected with bad ideas. By the standards of his own people he was a bit of a free thinker. On his present assignment, he was being sent to various countries that were struggling with radical ideas and civil unrest. He had expected to see people doing acts of lese majeste, or not being properly respectful to their elders. But what he found in Nifon was shocking.

Apparently they had the following demands...demands. Upon their elders. Upon persons of superior caste.

1. Freedom of the press
2. Freedom of expression
3. An end to the privileges enjoyed by the churches of Nifon
4. An end to discrimination
5. The transition of Nifon to a modern, free and equal society.

This was insane, yet it troubled him. The Thonists, back home, had thoughts that were..disturbingly similar, if you boiled them down. Yet many in high places in the Middle and Ruling Castes brushed concerns about them aside. So he began to take notes as he observed the gathering protest and the response.

Worse yet, was this where his dabbling in free thinking led to?

So he watched from the sidelines, near one of the university buildings. The student protestors were singing a song, which apparently was about the love of one young woman for another young woman. This sounded nice and very innocent to him until someone explained it to him. He couldn't believe it.

Over 700 students stood on the university's square, hundreds of throats were singing this song, which apparently was some kind of anthem of their protests for reasons he did not understand. In hands, the students held whatever they could get - brooms, knives, bricks and other objects they planned to use in the upcoming fight.

He could also hear mechanical voices coming from the ranks of the security services, ordering the assembled to disperse or face consequences. Over thirteen companies of imperial guard plus local police were brought in to deal with the riot. Additionally, a special operations platoon was called following the use of firearms. It's black clad men stood at the rear, ready to enter the action. He was shocked by this too; they outnumbered the students! He was amazed by this. Did the students not understand their danger? Why did they not flee?

What followed, the clash of arms, won by those with the greater force; none of this surprised him. He was shocked, horrified, and sickened; while the protestors were demanding shocking, outrageous things, they were still people, and he did not like seeing people get hurt. What baffled him was not that there was a clash, that there had been violence; it was why.

He wrote a letter to his editor, who in turn wrote a letter to the senior officials in charge of the matter, if their positions were known. Would they permit one of his journalists, for the Sombreland Sentinel, interview any of the arrested protestors so that it might be possible for their news outlet to understand why the students had protested for the things they had? It was explained that the journal was the official state news of a very conservative, quiet nation possibly more conservative than Nifon, with no radical agendas, just the desire to understand what their country itself might have to deal with.

The time now is 12 October, 6:30 pm.
The jingle of the RTBN Evening News broadcast plays through airwaves.

"Good evening and welcome to RTBN Evening News. I am your host, Charlotte Tsang. The major headlines are: Security forces of Nifon charged into the campus of the Ishikawa Technical University; the -"

She stuttered for a second, and then cut to a different line.

"We interrupt regular programming for some breaking news."

The screen cuts to a scene from the center of the campus of the Ishikawa Technical University, filmed no less with shaken hands. "We have received reports of shots being fired. We've secured a connection with Allison Wong, a Nacradian student on exchange there. Allison, how's the situation?"

"Thank you. The situation has worsened quite a bit since the start of the day. Earlier, a protester, which has been suspected to be an agent provocateur, has fired at the police and security forces, and CCTV footage - what's left of it - are being reviewed to see if this is the case. In response, the government forces around the university had opened fire, and from what I gather killed or seriously wounded 5 to 7 protesting students. As you can hear -"

Screams ensued around Allison when the collective morale of the protestors collapsed as one dropped to the ground, stone cold with brains spilled all over his comrades. When the students routed and dispersed, her signal cut out.

"Hello? Allison? Are you there...?" The news anchor urged to dial tones. After a few tries, she recollected herself and went back to regular news.

The next day, 12:30

Sun Yat-sen Podium, University of Nacrad, Riverfort

Students gathered on the red brick steps leading to the open place dead center on the campus, facing the Main Building. Stood at the end of the podium is Professor Benny Tai, who happened to have no scheduled classes that day. A camera was set at the corner of the square, just outside the library, as The Undergrad, the student newspaper, played the speech live.

"Fellow students," he began, "I trust that you have seen the news yesterday. Yesterday evening, the security forces of Nifon had broken into the campus of the Ishikawa Technical University, and had killed no fewer than 5 students - though most likely more. The students were fighting for five demands - The freedom of press, of expression, of equality between secularism and religion, the end of discrimination, and for Nifon to become a modern, free and equal society.

I would like to draw an analogue to what happened here, at this very square, almost 50 years ago. When it was late 1972 - about mid-November - I was also here. Not as a professor, mind you, but as a protestor. I still remember what I chanted on the very steps that some of you are sitting on. I chanted for democracy. For freedom. Undeniably the students in Ishikawa had it worse, but it is an analogue nonetheless.

I remember how the Student Union housed the House of Representatives, when the despots removed the true voice of the people. Truly, students, while overlooked and oppressed, are the most courageous, the most ambitious, and sometimes the key to any change. However, as you all should know, federal forces charged into campus when students' resistance became insufficient. I was there, and seeing the news... it harrowingly reminded me of what happened half a century ago. When courageous students asking for change were trampled on, discarded and disowned.

Us Nacradians know the pain of Nifonese students all too well, for we have experienced it too. You, as students of the top university in the country, and furthermore as students of the institution that started our rebellion against despots - must not let it just slide.

Fellow students, I would like to lead you to a minute of silence, to commemorate those who died in the massacre."

After the minute of silence, the professor went on a lecture about the importance of students in the promotion of democracy.

Later that day,
NUSU Council Room, Composite Building, University of Nacrad

"The time now is 7 pm. I declare the tenth ordinary meeting of the NUSU council open," monotonously, Nathan Leung declares as he smashes a gavil onto the desk. "Now please rise for the Union Song."
He presses a button on his laptop and a song plays.
There's a call in our hearts deep and strong
...
...
Union, only you'd make them true,
We're all proud of you!

After the formalities are complete, the meeting began.

"Agenda 1: To discuss and publish opinions on the events at the Ishikawa Technical University on 12th October and 13th October, 2022, Nacrad Standard Time." Read the chairman, and then he elaborated:
"To express the Union's outrage against the Government of Nifon, whose actions between 12th and 13th October, 2022 in Nacrad Standard Time at the Ishikawa Technical University led to the arrest of Professor Sugita Hideo, the besiegement of the campus and the death of several students during the crackdown of the protests; to call for the protestors' demands to be met, to express the Union's gratitude, solidarity and admiration with regards to the protestors at the Ishikawa Technical University, and to conduct a period of silence in commemoration to those fallen at the Ishikawa Technical University."

With an almost unanimous vote, the council agreed, and this decision was later given to the Undergrad to publish. But in the meantime, the council had their moment of silence, and then carried on with other affairs.

"In a demonstration by students at Ishikawa Technical University, security forces of Nifon opened fire, resulting in numerous casualties. Local time...." The news was breaking news, and everyone in the Department of State's conference room seemed shocked by the news.

"We're in trouble. What should we do now?" Kim Se-Kwang, vice minister of the Department of State, couldn't take his eyes off the news screen. He had a habit of shaking his feet, and again he was shaking his feet.

"Last time we received a telegram from Minister of External Affairs Tokugawa Asuka. The telegram said Shogun wanted to resolve the situation peacefully." Lee Dae-young, one of the vice ministers, said. He was biting his nails nervously.

"In the end, it didn't work out peacefully," added Kim Se-Kwang.

"But they said the protests were caused by an organized campaign by certain forces to destroy and take control of Nifon. I don't think we can ignore this." Lee Dae-young pointed out the contents of the telegram.

"Of course, we cannot rule out the possibility that it is Nifon's propaganda." When Kim Se-Kwang refuted this, Lee Dae-young continued.

"But we can't ignore the fact that Nifon has faced many challenges outside of the country. What if this propaganda is real?"

"So what should we do? Should I make a statement of condemnation or not? How should I report to the president?" Secretary of State Yun Ji Hyun called attention and urged a conclusion.

"You shouldn't make a statement of condemnation now. This could worsen our relationship with Nifon." Lee Dae-young voted against it.

"If we don't make a statement of censure, our nation's image will deteriorate." Kim Se-kwang insisted on issuing a statement of condemnation.

"There's no conclusion. All right, let me give you my opinion. First of all, I make a statement expressing my condolences for the sacrifices made by the protests. And then secretly send a telegram to Nifon to ask for more information about "certain forces trying to destroy and take control of Nifon" to find out the truth. If their words are true, as Lee Dae-young said, it is impossible to make a statement of condemnation. But if it's a lie, there's no reason not to make a statement of condemnation.“

Yun Ji Hyun continued after drinking water.

"Beyond anything else, we need to approach this issue carefully. If we make a mistake in dealing with it, our international position will be weakened."

May your country prosper.

It's a pity that Nifon's stability seems to have been shaken by this incident. Our government is concerned about the "certain forces trying to destroy and take control of Nifon" in a previous telegram sent by the Minister of External Affairs Tokugawa Asuka. If the forces take control of Nifon, the geopolitical stability around it, as well as Nifon, is expected to falter.

We want to be clear about the existence of these 'certain forces. The forces may try to threaten our country beyond Nifon. If possible, please share more information about the forces with us. This will greatly help the relationship between the two countries.

Sincerely,
Secretary of State, Yun Ji Hyeon

From: Martin Mosakowski, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Development, United Kingdom of West Bromwich Holme & Northern Ireland
To: Minister of External Affairs, Tokugawa Asuka

Dear Minister of External Affairs,
on behalf of Prime Minister Madukaego Jideofor, our government would like to offer a solution.

We propose a three-day conference in London, United Kingdom of West Bromwich Holme to negotiate a peaceful and diplomatic resolution. We also propose an abolition of the social credit system which is damaging and dangerous for human rights.

Currently we have identified 18 West Bromwich Holmians residing within the nation and 34 U.S. citizens who are possible victims of assault during this incident. We are working to deal with this situation and resolve it as peacefully as we can.

We have also identified a Serbian national, Danilo Zdeslav Ignjatović (born 15 April 1983, Belgrade, SFR Yugoslavia) who may be involved with George Kovacs financially and politically. We also have identified Šacir Alomerović (born 26 July 1994,Chicago, Illinois, United States of America) as another individual who is involved with this. He should not be confused with any other Bosniaks of the same name, there are three other notable ones.

Both are currently being sought internationally for various links to criminal families worldwide, including your nation.

Our government has a possible solution to deal with this crisis. It is unconventional, but worthwhile.

A reply is appreciated.

Regards,
Martin Mosakowski, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Development, United Kingdom of West Bromwich Holme & Northern Ireland

"OVER NIFON - ONLY HEAVEN!"

ATTN: Secretary of State, Yun Ji Hyun
SUBJECT: Protests
DATE: 25.09.2022 (8th year of the Current Imperial Era)
ENCRYPTION: TOP SECRET

Your Excellencies:

The government of the Empire of Greater Nifon wishes to communicate the following to office of Secretary of State, Yun Ji Hyun; that the Nifonese response has been altered because the situation has changed too.

First, an unknown sniper opened fire on Imperial Guardsmen outside of Ishikawa Technical University, killing two guardsmen and wounding four. At this point the Imperial Government decided that it has to restore law order on the campus. The students not only refused to disperse, but attempted to fight back the security services with various weapons. Imperial Guardsmen were stabbed, hit with bricks, had boiling water poured on them.

During the operation, three policemen fell into the hands of protesters, who attempted to murder the captured policemen with cold blood. Upon seeing this, the commander of special platoon made a correct decision to secure lives and well being of fellow servicemen.

It is a view of Nifonese governments that the moment those students decided to resort to violence, they ceased being protesters and became rebels.

The government of the Empire of Greater Nifon believes that with advent of globalisation, there appeared actors willing to exploit their new found power and influence for personal gain. The protests were organised by George Kovacs - a billionare with links to others of his kind, in whose interests lies weakening of national institutions in order to profit. The Nifonese government refers to them as the plutocratic insurgency and views as one of largest security threats to the Empire of Greater Nifon.

Below are drone feeds from the incident:

Postby Sombreland » Sun Nov 20, 2022 4:03 am

Oikonos Klax began the interviews by making sure that each of the activists he had been permitted to interview was offered a pleasant drink--from a can or box, so that they could see it had not been tampered with--would ask what their name was, what they were studying, and other such questions to make them comfortable. He was clearly not Nifonese, and he spoke the language in a somewhat stilted, heavily accented manner. In point of fact, he found Nifonese culture both interesting and threatening. Its missionaries and traders were clearly agents of the great power in the region that offered help along with demands to bend the forehead to the floor, and Sombreland's government had dealt carefully with this giant since their earliest dealings in the 15th Century. The only reason, many felt, that Sombreland's governments' stand offishness had been tolerated was because they were stand offish with everyone. He was painfully aware that in this instance, he was, himself, a kind of unofficial envoy.

What he wanted most to ask them about, though was their purposes. As it had been said, they wanted the following:

1. Freedom of the press
2. Freedom of expression
3. An end to the privileges enjoyed by the churches of Nifon
4. An end to discrimination
5. The transition of Nifon to a modern, free and equal society.

His questions were about these. How had they formulated these ideas? What did each, in turn, mean to them? How would they like to see such policies carried out? And why had they been willing to risk death or injury to see these policies enacted? Did they not realize that the Kojiro government would never agree to them? That they were antithetical to all the values the government and the society had? And why were they so disloyal and ungrateful as to hold such demonstrations?
